Work Text:
Toya was brought by his father to continue his piano lessons. He was never given a day off to have a break from playing piano.
Today, they were in his father's car. Tsukasa was brought along to also take his twice a week piano lessons. Toya felt a bit envious of the older one due to his freedom to do what he wanted while still maintaining to take his lessons. Toya could never play with other children besides Tsukasa, and sometimes, Saki.
Both of the children waited in the back of the car while his father argued with the piano teacher on the phone. Toya could feel aggressive taps on his shoulder. He looked over to find Tsukasa staring at him with eager eyes.
“Toya! Do you want to go to the playground?” Tsukasa whispered loudly but not loud enough for his father to hear. The older one pointed towards the playground near where they parked. Toya knew that he would have major consequences if he slipped away without permission, so he shook his head.
“Come on, it's okay! We'll be back quickly!” Before Toya could even respond, the door to Tsukasa's side opened, and he was dragged out of the car before Tsukasa closed it gently to avoid making a noise that could draw attention to them both leaving the car.
Tsukasa dragged him to the playground. There were a few kids running around and playing with each other. The blonde scanned the playground and found a girl happily playing on the swings. While still holding on to Toya's wrist, he dragged him again towards the girl.
“HAHA! Hello there!” Tsukasa exclaimed, startling the girl a bit before the girl giggled.
“Hi, I'm An. What's your name?” An asked while smiling.
“My name is Tsukasa Tenma! A future star!” Tsukasa made a weird pose, but Toya only had sparkles in his eyes, admiring him.
An looked over to the other boy beside the loud one. “How about you? What's your name?”
Toya was caught off guard when An talked to him, making his heart skip a beat. He could feel both Tsukasa and An's eyes on him, and it made him feel shy. So he looked at Tsukasa, wanting him to tell her instead. It seemed like the older one got the hint.
“Well! This is my lovely brother, Toya Aoyagi!” Tsukasa introduced him proudly and loudly. His voice could be heard from across the playground.
“You guye are brothers? But you don't look alike?” An tilted her head in confusion. Tsukasa's blonde hair, fading into pink constrasted with Toya's half light and half dark blue hair.
“We're not actually brothers! I just like to think we are one. I have an actually sister!” The loud one explain and An nodded at that fact.
An and Tsukasa played with each other while trying to include Toya in their shenanigans. Turns out that An could be almost equally loud and chatty as Tsukasa.
While they did chat, however, Toya couldn't help but stare at An for a bit, admiring her features. The girl had black hair with blue faded tips tied up in a ponytail. She had vibrant amber eyes that could catch anyone's attention. She was slightly taller than both of them but he didn't really mind it.
An talked about how she liked to sing and that one day, she would surpass a legendary event. She also talked about her lovely aunt and uncle who helped her whenever she practiced.
An and Tsukasa were similar in way on how they were both passionate about achieving their dreams. Toya hadn't even thought about what his dream was. He didn't think that it would matter, though. He has and probably always will pursue classical music whether he liked it or not anyway. He would never have a choice when it comes to pursuing a career.
Toya snapped out of his thoughts when the voice of An called out for him. He looked up to her with curious eyes.
“Toyaaa! Oh, there we go! Do you want to play with us?” An excitedly asked Toya. He nodded enthusiastically. He had never really played with other kids before, so he was curious how it would go.
Tsukasa, for some reason, suggested playing fake marriage. Toya was a bit skeptical but decided to go along with it. He thought that he would be the one to officiate the wedding, but he was already thought wrong.
“Toya, why don't you be the groom?” Tsukasa suggested once more. making him blush immediately in embarrassment. He glanced over to An, who was staring at him expectedly. How could he say no when they're expecting him to say yes?
Before he could say yes or no, a hand was placed on his shoulder.
“It's okay to have fun for a bit.” The older one reassured him with a grin.
“...Okay then.” Was all it took before Tsukass clapped happily and went in between them, clearing his throat.
“Ahem! The wedding is officially starting!” Tsukasa looked like he was going to take this very seriously. An giggled to the look of the loud one.
“An, will you take Toya Aoyagi as your lovely husband?”
“I do!” The girl responded enthusiastically while nodding.
“Toya Aoyagi, will you take An as your dear wife?”
“I… I do?”
“Wonderful! You may now hug the bride!” Tsukasa gestured for them to hug, but Toya was too shy to do it, so he just stood still, not moving. An saw this and decided to make the move, moving closer to Toya. His heart skipped a beat once more before An opened her arms and enveloping Toya into a warm hug. He blushed profusely while looking at Tsukasa who only grinned at the sight of them. The girl pulled away and gave him a smile. This feeling, he didn't know what it was. But it made him feel so warm inside.
“Wedding success! You guys are married now! Welcome to the family, sister in law!” Tsukasa grinned proudly as he aggressively shook her hand.
In the distance, the names of both the boys could be heard.
“Toya! Tsukasa! Where are you?!”
Uh oh, it was Toya's father. He must've been finished with his phone call.
Toya gulped nervously. He could spot him in the distance marching over to where they were.
“Toya! Tsukasa! Where have you been?! Who told both of you to go here?!” The old man scolded both of them before grabbing their wrists and dragging them away. Tsukasa tried to fight back but his tiny figure could not pull away from his big hands. Toya just let himself get dragged but he looked back to An one last time. She was looking back at them with both confusion and disappointment in her eyes. Toya could only look away in sadness.
He will never see her again.

“Hey babe, remember when we got married in the playground?” An looked at her husband with nostalgia and excitement. Toya groaned softly and just buried his face in his wife's shoulder while his arms wrapped around his waist.
“Don't remind me of that, dear.” Toya's cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
“Whattt? But you were so cute! Look!” An pointed to the photobook she was holding. The picture was Toya when he was a child. His appearance never changed in An's eyes. Toya avoided seeing himself in that photobook, not wanting to embarrass himself even further.
“Wait, so if we got married 2 times, does that mean we're double married?”
“Please, just go to sleep.”
