What a beautiful sight for a wedding!

Summary:

Evan x Cassidy's wedding!

Notes:

breaking apart Cream Cheese's request! this is the second one going up tonight!! whooooooooo

I hope everyone enjoys it! this is the second story going up tonight! and I wanted to give everyone a whole bunch of my writing (if they enjoy it) for the holidays as a Christmas gift! this has all been in the works ever since my last post in november, kinddddaaaa lied about when it would be out though (not purposefully)

Anyways; 100% honest here, im not too sure if I have everything right about weddings here, or bachelor's, or anything like that. the entire fic is inspired by my real-life experience at a wedding, so my knowledge, besides my not-very extensive research, is kind of limited.

This one isnt related to other fics, but with the way its written if you've read any of my fics before and Cassidy and Evan are still alive (womp womp) you could see it as a continuation of that!

Enjoy!
(i wonder if anyone reads these things)

Work Text:

“Micheal…I-i’m so e-excited…but I’m not ready for this at all..” the younger man says to his older brother.

“What?! You better not be getting cold feet now! You’ve both waited for this moment for so long?”

“No no that’s not what I meant! It’s like….s-she-she’s so…beautiful, can I really marry her? What if she deserves someone better?”

“Evan…”

Ashamed the young man looked down, avoiding his older brother's eyes. Michael’s features soften as he watches his younger brother stress about his insecurities before the big moment.

It’s not like Micheal was a stranger to the feeling, marrying Charlie was the happiest moment in his entire life, but also his most stressful.

“Evan look at me.” Micheal starts, his eyes a dark brown abyss, and his hair hastily combed into a lesser mess than usual.

Both Michael and Evan have hair that despises them and never wants to work with them, it’s the same with their father William, the boys in that family rock their bedhead hairstyles with pride.

“We’re Afton’s Evan. I know you’re closer to the frugal side, just like Dad, but do you know how much money we have right? So you’re loaded for one.”

“Well yea but-“

Second, our own dad has shown up in those scrappy Playboy magazines before, and they’re already starting to try and scout us out. I mean, while Cassidy nor Charlie would ever let that camera get close to us, you gotta think about our looks? We’re solid 10’s Ev.” Micheal continues.

“And really, when have both you or Cassidy ever really strayed from each other? She liked you ever since you were kids and so did you, there’s no way she’s going to end it here.”

The smile on Evan’s face after hearing out his brother was priceless, Michael was right, he and Cassidy really did love each other, and nothing could ever get in the way of it.

Of course, they had their arguments and disagreements, as it comes with relationships, but usual even those were normal conversations where they just talked to each other. He knows Cassidy never has time for anyone’s bullshit, and the fact she can always put up with him sends his heart soaring.

With a loud thud, the doors of the groom’s room swing open, in front of the doorway;

The voice of William Afton rang through that room with the volume of a military general, yet the happiness of a young boy getting their first toy.

“MY SONS! I’m so proud of both of you! I was let know that Cassidy is ready, the ceremony will start in 30 or so minutes.”

“Dad!” They both said in unison, walking a slow jog to their father before embracing him in a tight hug.

William was a single parent ever since the accident, when Fredbear malfunctioned and Mrs. Afton was made a victim trying to protect her sons while William ushered the crowd out to safety.

It took a long time for William to get better,  regarded as a hero to his children, the family lost a member but grew to love each other more.

Micheal relaxed on his brother, Evan was still a crybaby for a child but he found solace in his loved ones, Elizabeth was always able to bond but she glued the family together even more, and William opened up much more to his children, trying to be the best father he ever could.

He still at the time wasn’t a big fan of Cassidy as she broke the window to Evan’s room multiple times from playing backyard baseball. (He eventually warmed up to her)

“Oh my God it’s happening..okay okay, give me a second guys, I’m going to prepare my vows and get more ready!”

“Heh! Good luck son!”

“You got this little man.”

With that, the 2 men left the room and left the young man all by himself.

He thought to himself for a long while, staring in the mirror as the jazzy music filled his ears and his body with the desire to sway with his soon-to-be wife.

He let the music take his body, and he and Cassidy practiced dancing together they learned each other’s style of dance (Evan’s being tap dancing mixed with very quick and elegant movements, Cassidy’s being very hip-hop not being afraid to get on the floor and steal the show.)

They practiced what songs they wanted to dance to and Evan rehearsed most steps the best he could by himself. It looked weird in the mirror without Cassidy but he figured he was doing it right. She was better at it within seconds so she helped him whenever he required it.

To avoid sweating up a storm Evan halted his movements and let the jazz enter his ears peacefully while he walked over to his desk and took out his notes for his vow.

He didn’t necessarily see it as cheesy, everything he wrote was true, but reading it out in front of everyone was such an embarrassing thought to him.

Evan always liked the small PDA things, quick pecks, holding hands, hugging, and small cuddling, but this blew him out of the water. He barely had even said all of these things to Cassidy out loud, and now he has to tell her everything!

Taking the time to rehearse his speech, he noticed the door was being beaten down by multiple hands knocking on the door.

“C-come in!”

The door swung open wildly as all of the younger college-age ‘kids’ ran up to him.

“EVAN!!” They cried out in unison, giving him a large hug. He expected it though, those kids always picked him and Cassidy as their leaders with those two being the oldest (and being in love).

Cassidy was the leader, he was just...the medic? or more like the emotional support everyone ran to with their issues and happiest moments!

“H-hey guys! What’s up? Are you guys liking the building?”

“Of course Ev! The building is so cool! Oh, my photography teacher would love what I’m going to be submitting for class!” One of the boys, named Jeremy, said. He was 20, his last year of college and he was vice president of the photography club this year.

“I know right?! And the food! The pizzaaaaa!~” the girl named Susie added, she was 19, in her sophomore year of college, and running to be the valedictorian of her class. Don’t tell anyone that he said this but both Cassidy and Evan were surprised when they learned Susie planned on skipping 13 of her classes to go upstate to get to the wedding.

He needed to make sure she left with almost all the pizza he could put in her car.

“Yea yea all that stuff is great, but onto the more important part~”

“Yea….”

“What’s it like getting married old man?!” Both Fritz and Gabriel asked in unison, obviously dazzled by Evan’s clean face

and fancy attire.

Fritz and Gabriel were roommates when they met on the first day of college, they kicked well and that led to Gabriel introducing Fritz to all of his friends; and they all clicked well also, making Fritz the last added member of their group.

Fritz wasn’t in college for the actual diploma or much else really. he was there mostly because his father demanded it. Fritz did end up taking some of the sea-based classes though, taking a large part in the marine life area of the school. Fritz was going to be some kind of sailor and move to Maine, he knew what he wanted and just did it for ease.

Gabriel was Cassidy’s younger Step-brother, he went to college across the state away from Cassidy but always came back to Utah to visit everybody along with Fritz. Gabriel was in college for aviation, he always wanted to be a pilot according to Cassidy, so his being in a college specifically made for the future pilots of America made honest sense.

“It’s all good! N-Nerve-wracking, but good, I can’t w-wait to marry her…but my heart is beating like crazy!” Evan said, his face flushed as he laughed with the group of younger people in front of him.

“Well, we have a surprise for you!” Susie interjected, getting to the point of why they came.

“Oh? W-what is it? His curiosity peaked as he wondered if they could possibly need to give him right now.

“3…2..1! Hyup!”

Evan felt his feet lift off the ground, as he looked down to see all of the aforementioned college kids pick him up and heave him out of the room.

“W-woah! H-hey!! Put me down! I can walk?! H-Hey!” Evan called out, in between multiple apologies to guests and service as the 4 bumped into multiple people on their way to the center stage.

“G-Guys! Put me down!”

“Why is he so easy to pick up? Fritz whispered under his breath to Gabriel, as Gabriel made a shrugging motion with what body parts he could, ignoring Evan’s useless plead to reach the floor.

The group of 5 ran through the entire main building and burst through the central doors to the outdoor area, it was beautiful. He knew what he was expecting, and what he put money into but he was surprised at how surreal the garden looked. Pinks, purples, blues, yellows, and greens filled the entire scenery as flowers and grass surrounded the white stage and chairs.

“Wooooah…”

Before he knew it Evan felt his feet delicately touch the ground again, as he was shaken down and neatened back up by the group, who ran back inside before Evan could chastise them for being so reckless.

Oh well….let them have their fun

He went back to focusing on the scene in front of him, taking in all the sights. The ocean view from the beautiful cliff he sat atop of, the way the sun angled just perfectly to warn the people night was coming, filling the sky with beautiful oranges and pinks.

The amount of color in just one place amazed Evan, it was spectacular, and he knew Cassidy deserved everything.

From the day she introduced herself at the small diner, to the day she broke into his window to have a sleepover, to the day she chipped a tooth trying to save him from falling off a bike to the day he proposed to her, and to right now.

Cassidy was his most prized possession, invaluable, and could not be sold or auctioned off ever.

Evan always thought that; If soulmates existed beyond just a concept, he and Cassidy would be the world’s number 1 example.

“‘Eya sport, ‘ya ready?” A small feminine voice called out, breaking Evan from his inner monologue.

“R-ready as I could ever be ‘Mrs. Charlie’.”

“Again, you don’t have to add the Mrs part, Sport.” Charlie added with a small chuckle

“Just as how you don’t have to call me s-sport? You know y-you’re not that much older than me.”

“Youngin’ I’ve been with your older brother since ‘ya sucking your thumb, I’ve seen you grow up into who ‘ya are today. Yer' gonna be Sport to me for the rest of 'ya life.”

“…you’re still talking like you're in your 80’s Ms. Charlie you’re only 6 years older than me, just like Micheal.”

“There you guys are! Don’t leave me out on everything!!” A ginger-haired girl called out, trying her best to run in her fancy white high heels.

“‘eya ‘Lizabeth”

“Careful there Liz, b-before Old Lady Charlie has to bust her cane out to c-chastise you!” The youngest yelled from the stage, dramatically reenacting Charlie ‘busting her cane out’.

“Oh my god! Fine, I’ll cut the old lady shtick….It was fun while it lasted.”

“Ugh was she doing that again? Never mind I’ll stay over here..” the ginger hesitantly yelled from across the blades of grass.

“S-she stopped!”

“Thank God!!” she began her run again, this time stepping even harder.

“You both suck, my comedy is great…”

“No it’s not Charlie!"

“Dick!”

“Moving on! So! You guys! The wedding is going to start in 3 minutes! Evan, wrap up all your groomsmen, Charlie, grab Mike and Daddy so they can have everyone come here for seating.”

“Y’okay” Charlie said, lightly jogging to the main building.

“I’ll hang back with Cassidy and announce when she’s ready.”

“Roger..”

Elizabeth turned around, getting ready to get back to Cassidy’s aid before she stopped and took a quick breath.

Turning back around, with a smile, she blurted;

“Hey! Little bro! No cold feet! Mike told me what happened, don’t worry; Cassidy feels the exact same way right now!”

that made his heart soar even more, knowing she also felt nervous and stressed just like him to make everything perfect.

Watching Elizabeth quickly take her leave he pulls out his phone and sends a text to the groomsmen and individual texts to the bridesmaids to start making their way to center stage.

Evan watched as the decent-sized crowd poured out from the main lobby, a sea of people walking out from the doors and walking on the cobblestone path toward the chairs and other seatings.

Following behind them the party of bridesmaids and groomsmen excitedly walked towards him, giving him multiple thumbs up and yells of celebration and happiness. It all warmed his heart to see.

Soon he saw his sister's notorious ginger hair, run out from the building tidying up her appearance and ushering everyone to get into places as “CASSIDY IS COMING SOON!”

Evan got the music set up in preparation for his future wife to show, and stood proud as all his nervousness clumped up into his abdomen waiting ever so patiently for his Cassidy to come out.

All eyes faced the doorway in excitement as they heard the slow pitter-patter of steps echoing from inside the building.

And there she was, walking gracefully down the aisle with her father locked in her arms, her head down and her ears incredibly red. when she looked up she locked eyes with her soon-to-be husband; She watched as tears went to his eyes almost immediately. she honestly felt the same, as his crying rubbed off onto her.

She increased her walking speed by a bit, determined to get onto the stage as quickly as possible. Partly to avoid the stares, but mostly so she could take the hands of the man she loved.

And eventually, her father let go, and she walked onto the stage.

She used to be a good deal taller than Evan, all until he hit his incredibly late growth spirit mid mid-junior year of college. He shot up like a rocket, going from 5’3 to 5’10 seemingly overnight, in comparison to Cassidy’s 5’7. He didn’t tower over her, but he definitely could comfortably look over her head. Cassidy loved both versions of him equally regardless though.

All the two did at the stage was listen to music and stare into each other’s eyes, dumb smiles unable to leave their face as they occasionally chuckled and giggled at each other under their breath.

The music changed from slow jazz to ringing ceremony bells solidifying their positions.

Let the wedding commence!

The priest made his way to the stage, held out his book, and placed his dingy glasses over his crooked nose. Taking a small pause to flip to the correct page, the priest opens his mouth and begins addressing to the couple and their audience

“Good afternoon everyone, we’re all here to celebrate the ceremony between Evan N. Afton and Cassidy K. Brooks. Let us all show some love to them.”

The audience and others erupt into a roar of loud clapping and hollering.

“Great job everyone, Mr. Afton are you ready?”

“Y-yes!”

“Ms. Brooks, are you ready?”

“Yes!”

“Perfect, then let us begin.”

———

“Mr. Afton; do you take Cassidy Brooks to be your lawfully wedded wife? Through sickness and health to be forever together?”

“Y-y-yes!! D-definitely!”

“Ms. Brooks; do you take Evan Afton as your lawfully wedded husband? Through sickness and health to be forever together?”

“Yes. One hundred times yes!”

“Then now; you may kiss the bride,” the priest said, looking directly at Evan

Not wasting a moment Evan wrapped his skinny hands around Cassidy’s hips and pulled her in delicately for a passionate kiss. Cassidy raised her arms to lay hung around Evan’s neck. Their eyes close as their soft lips meet, holding their kiss together as the crowd stands, clapping their hands loudly in celebration.

“And with this kiss, Cassidy Brooks and Evan Afton are husband and wife!”

_____

The entire wedding had to be the most adorable thing Elizabeth Afton had ever seen with her two eyes.

No hands were raised in objections, she stared down all participants, just waiting to start a fight with someone who raised their hand (Micheal and William joined her).

The vows were beautiful, Evan was long crying small tears with a signature elongated smile, Cassidy as usual left the crying to Evan as she was saving her cries of happiness since she didn’t want to cry in front of people.

Their kiss was passionate but cut short by the jokey “ewwwww nasty” face kids would make from the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Gabriel proceeded to let out the world’s most childish “eewwww” that he could muster.

Elizabeth did indeed; find that incredibly funny.

Everyone waited patiently as they watched the couple move back into the building, Evan carrying his now wife in his arms. Her face buried deep into his chest as she tried to avoid the looks of the crowd.

Elizabeth watched with happiness for her brother, wondering what it was like for them at that current moment.

——

Cassidy doesn’t know about Evan but she was living in pure BLISS right now.

She married her childhood crush and best friend, she was being carried by her ever-so-handsome husband, her new ring shining as the diamond reflected light from the abundance of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. She got to see her friends, stepbrother, and family, she finally was able to fulfill her father’s greatest wish of “taking his little girl down the aisle”.

The thoughts of the ceremony filled her mind and made her want to scream into her pillow and rock her feet back and forth. She couldn’t wait to spend the night with him as newlyweds and then go on their honeymoon.

She absolutely loved traveling! She’s been to at least 40 different countries with Evan and even more alone or with friends and family. She single-handedly planned out her honeymoon with Evan, and they both agreed to let her do that so Evan could focus on getting more things ready for the wedding plans.

To Cassidy’s plans; they would go on a month-long vacation going from Hurricane Ohio, their home, to South America and all across the continents, until they’re back home at Ohio.

She couldn’t wait for almost…everything. She was excited about anything! As long as she knew Evan was going to be next to her through all things, good and bad.

“W-we’ve arrived at our destination Cassie!” Evan said, cutting her thoughts apart as he set her down gently.

“Thank you, dear sire” Cassidy said back in her best British accent to match her new husband’s.

“When w-will you ever stop making fun of m-my accent?”

“Neverrrr~! Especially if our kids pick up that accent!”

She watched as Evan’s ears turned red from the mention of their future kids, she still to this day found it adorable how in tune he was with his emotions and how he still got embarrassed whenever she mentioned doing the horizontal tango with him.  She never gets old of it, remembering their first time fondly and how red he was the entire time.

Cassidy let out a giggle watching her Husband turn his head away and attempt to bring up a new topic.

“S-soooo, how about the food, we have to have everybody get into the dining room right?

“Right. Good work Ev! I’m so proud of you.”

“W-where’s m-my wife and w-what have you d-done with her?”

“Har-har you, but between the both of us, I’m the more social and confrontational, but I’ve been watching you try your best to handle most things and interact with people more so that I can be relaxed…I just wanted to make you know I saw it.”

“Well, I-It was something I’ve b-been working on…I just wanted to make sure you didn’t get a-any bit of stress today!”

“I know. That’s why I said thank you~” She finishes, placing a kiss on her husband’s lower cheek.

“I’m g-going to go get the people!” He spit out quickly, taking his leave extra quickly to avoid being teased by his wife.

“I’ll be in here making sure everything goes fine!” She yells back, waving her hand.

———

The food was phenomenal, and so was all the people’s happiness. Micheal’s never been so happy for his brother in his life.

He watched as Evan looked towards him and passed him the microphone for the dinner toast. He didn’t plan any kind of speech for this occasion and rambled on about whatever he could find funny, getting the occasional thumbs up of support from his own wife Charlie.

They yelled a cheer when Micheal finished, returning to his seat happier than he was before, knowing the people enjoyed his speech.

Once the dinner ended it was mingling time!

The cake came out and the music started. Dancing and celebration flooded the rooms as the music poured into the ears of all that came.

Micheal danced gracefully with his wife, as this wasn’t their first time having to dance at a wedding, and frankly, Charlie was a bit of a show-off. She whispered to him that she wanted to dance better than everyone else besides the main couple.

So they both waited for the pristine time the couple at the center of attention waltzed their way to the dance floor.

Suddenly the music changed, the room dimmed, and a light shone upon the couple as they stopped in the middle.

Their eyes closed, the only thing keeping them together was the tight hold Evan had on Cassidy.

Once their music started so did their dance. It was slow and passionate. Whenever Evan moved in one direction Cassidy would spin there to meet him, whenever Cassidy would move one direction, Evan would lift her up and place her down with a bow to meet her.

It was heavily coordinated, the entire room watched in amazement.

“how many times do you think they went over this…?” Micheal whispered to his darling wife.

“…..”

She didn’t respond, as she was too captivated watching the show.

“Agreed,” he said, imagining Charlie responding to him as he was ALSO too wrapped up in the show

The dance ended with a loud clack, as Cassidy’s dancing shoes hit the floor with their owner hitting a striking pose.

The couple’s breathes heavy as they paused, the lighting in the room going back to its usual shine.

Clapping for the millionth time ran through the room as the couple ran off the stage, celebrating themselves as they shot their hands up and screamed.

“That was gorgeous! Wasn’t it Micheal!”

“It really was….it really was!” He smirked, again even more proud of his brother.

…..

Micheal grimaced as he watched the newlyweds suck each other’s faces off as hard as possible. Cassidy’s dress was already torn, and Evan’s suit was wrinkled up.

In his car too….ughhhh

After the dance, Cassidy indulged herself in her occasional drinking.

Micheal assumes she was unaware the stuff was a bit harder than what she’s used to, and Cassidy already being a pretty fragile light weight became drunk after a few gulps.

Micheal and Evan noticed it when the usually stoic and reserved PDA-hating Cassidy Brooks Afton made a chair out of Evan’s lap. And she must’ve thought he was a rocking chair, because she took it upon herself to rock back and forth on top of her new chair.

Micheal only noticed when he watched Evan’s face turn redder than a tomato and when Cassidy’s face mixed smugness and “delight” into a smirk.

Therefore; Micheal notified Charlie and helped cover up for the couple. Coming up to Evan and Cassidy, and ushering Cassidy to the bathroom before anything else could happen was the easy part as Evan had enough self-restraint to know the time and place. The hard part was keeping Cassidy there.

Drunk Cassidy was like a child, if she wanted something, she better get it. And unfortunately, she had the impulse of a child but had the brain and memory of a fully grown adult…with the strength of a fully grown adult too.

Yet Micheal did not account for who else could’ve been intoxicated as when he came back from the bathroom alone, letting Charlie help Cassidy become easier to deal with, he watched a drunk Elizabeth and a SOBER William Afton bet money on how much their youngest family member could take.

Being that Micheal was only gone for a few minutes as all he did was walk back and forth, Evan either was given alcohol and got drunk by accident, or he was stupid and must’ve also been a lightweight. Micheal assumed it was the first one, and he thinks this because Evan was also drunk.

And it turns out his brother is a sleepy kind of drunk, as the boy passed out moments later.

Being that both the bride and the groom were shitfaced drunk…the wedding was over. It’s okay though, It was 2 am anyway. the only people left over were family.

So making an excuse, with truths sprinkled in there, he asked everyone to evacuate and get home safely.

Which brought him to the current predicament he was in right now.

As usual, Cassidy tired out Charlie with her antics as Charlie was fast asleep in the front seat, completely gone of any worries, so it’s now just him! stuck with the newlywed couple that was only a few minutes away from going at it in the back of his truck!

Yippee.

“Hey, lovebirds, please wait it out until we drop you guys off at home,” Micheal said, trying to emphasize the tiredness in his voice.

Typically he wouldn’t mind Evan and Cassidy being affectionate with each other, it’s just that they were doing way too much out in public, and even worse; his backseat.

It fell upon semi-deaf ears as the couple stopped for a moment, leaning up to meet eyes with Micheal. In a drunken state, they made incoherent noises as they both knocked out asleep laying on each other.

Trying to forget about what was happening beforehand, Micheal looks at the sight with a new fondness for the couple as he now sees the cuteness in them laying with each other right after their wedding.

Evan was lucky Micheal really cherished his family this time.

———

The next morning was followed with bombardments of apologies from Evan and Cassidy to Micheal and Charlie’s phones, Evan having sent 100+ and Cassidy having sent 2 with a following message asking if Micheal had any pictures of Evan’s face when she was doing those things.

Micheal didn’t even expect Cassidy to apologize.

———

Weeks months and years flew by as Evan and Cassidy got used to married life, their happiness was unparalleled, even after small arguments or heavily passionate days.

They still remember the first day they met, the days when Cassidy would come over for a sleepover because Gabriel annoyed her like crazy. Or the days when Evan would come and spend time with the entire group, usually being teased by Cassidy who in turn would be teased by the entire group.

For both of them, happiness would always be reached, and always be there to have.
