It was quiet throughout the RiverClan camp, the moon was high in the sky and no cat was awake, except Rainsong. The young warrior was unable to get to sleep, and had decided to slip out of the stuffy warriors den to sit in the clearing for awhile. The light reflecting onto the moon and down onto camp made her blue pelt glow, it looked majestic. The silence was calming, and helped her to ease her mind. Tensions in camp had been considerably high lately, and sometimes it was just all too much to handle. Looking at the stars above, she let out a small sigh.
Suddenly the shecat heard paw steps, she quickly turned to the warriors den to see who had awoken. Rosefall.
"Why are you up?" Rainsong asked cautiously, sitting up straighter than she had been previously. Rosefall approached Rainsong, before sitting down beside her. There was only a mouse length of space between the two. "I could ask you the same thing." Rosefall murmured, slight caution to her tone as well. She avoided looking directly at Rainsong, seemingly antsy about something.
"I couldn't sleep." Rainsong responded after a few moments of silence. Rosefalls ears twitched, and she nodded slightly before speaking. "I wanted to talk to you," The dark-pelted shecat began, finally looking at Rainsong. The other warrior tilted her head, "Oh?" She murmured, not sure what to expect. Rosefall looked at her paws for a moment, before speaking.
"I'm sorry." She said, making eye contact with Rainsong again. "I really am. I've been a complete fox-heart, for no reason. And I realize that now." Rainsong blinked, eyes widening at the sudden apology. She wasn't sure what she had expected Rosefall to say but it surely wasn't that. The blue-furred cat opened her maw to respond, but Rosefall continued. "And-- I understand if you don't forgive me, I mean, I probably wouldn't either."
"I forgive you, Rosefall." Rainsong said after a moment of silence, "I'm glad you realized the wrong in your actions." She added. Rosefall gave a slightly cautious smile. "Do you want to..start over? Be friends again, maybe?" Rosefall paused, "I mean, only if you want to."
Rainsong smiled too, resting her tail on Rosefalls back. "Sure, i'd like to try being friends again."
