The Family of Christmas Elves

Summary:

Time to get ready for the Malfoy-Nott Christmas family photo.

Notes:

Prompt: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas & Domestic Fluff

Work Text:

“You’ve gone mad if you think I’m going to wear that ,” Draco grunted, his eyes locked onto the distasteful green pyjama top Theo held up. It was bad enough he was wearing red and white striped bottoms, but to wear green on top was absolutely preposterous.

“You’re going to wear it and you’re going to like it or so help me, Draco, you’ll be sleeping on the couch for a week.” Theo threw the hideous top at his face.

Draco pulled the fabric from his head, huffing as he put the shirt on—he did not feel like testing his husband’s threats. He looked down at his attire, a frown on his face. “This isn’t even how elves dress. Why on earth would muggles believe in something so ridiculous?”

Theo walked toward their closet leaving Draco to pout on his own. “Dunno, love. But Hermione wants us all to wear them,” Theo yelled from the closet.

Draco sighed defeatedly; he spoiled his witch and wizard entirely too much. There was a time when he couldn’t care less about this wretched holiday, yet somehow he ended up with the most holiday-jolly people in the world, forcing him to be a Christmas lover. Even though he somewhat enjoyed Christmas now, he never thought he would see the day he would be forced to dress up as an elf— a Christmas elf —which wasn’t even remotely accurate to how elves truly were.

“Alright. How do I look?” Theo emerged from the closet, wearing the same green top and red and white striped bottoms as Draco. The only difference was the brunette was wearing some horrendous pointed green hat atop his head. But no matter how ridiculous his husband looked, he was still the most handsome wizard in the world.

An annoyed smile took over Draco’s face and he walked closer to Theo, pulling the wizard into his arms. He gently pressed their lips together, before pulling away. “Like something from a candy shop.”

“Mmmh, craving something sweet?” Theo brushed their noses together.

Just as Draco was about to give his husband a proper snog, the door cracked open and the sound of the little feet running echoed around them.

“Daddies!” Lyra’s hat nearly toppled off her blonde curls as she ran to them and wrapped her arms around their legs. “We’re matching,” she giggled, “but where's your hat?” She looked up at Draco with her hazel eyes.

With a loving smile on his face, he picked up their daughter and walked to grab the green hat on the bed. “Here it is. Will you put it on for Daddy?” He handed her the hat and without hesitation she put it on his head.

“And how was he?” Hermione made her way toward Theo, the elf attire much more appealing on her, and her hat struggling to stay on her curls.

Theo pried the babbling infant from their wife's arms. “Next time I call changing the kids,” Theo playfully huffed and placed a kiss on Hermione’s lips.

“That bad, huh?”

“I’m right here, you know?” Draco adjusted Lyra on his hip.

Theo winked at him. “I think he’s on the naughty list for sure.” Both Hermione and Theo looked in his direction, both had equal mischievous looks on their faces.

“Daddy’s not on the naughty list. He’s a good daddy!” Lyra gasped, throwing her arms around his neck.

“Yeah,” Draco said mockingly before sticking out his tongue at his wife and husband.

“Daddy, don’t do that,” Lyra hummed as she put her hand over his mouth.

“Sorry,” he mumbled into her hand, causing Theo to laugh. Draco rolled his eyes, “Is the camera already set up?”

“Yes. We’re all set,” Hermione beamed before making her way out of the room, Theo and him following suit with Lyra and Teddy in their arms.

The five of them gathered on the couch, with their matching pyjamas and green pointy hats. Draco couldn’t help the amount of warmth that flooded his veins as he sat with his family; only they could get him to dress up as some ridiculous elf.

Hermione looked at each of them, the most beautiful smile on her face. “Everyone say ‘Merry Christmas!’”

“Merry Christmas!”
