Elle is in the room in minutes when she tracks down where Alex was taken. She doesn’t wait for the others, it’s not her team anymore and she needs Alex safe. The men charge her of course and Elle takes them down one at a time, pushing through until she’s left alone with dead men and a locked door.
Keys are found and by the time the team arrive she is unlocking Alex’s chains, letting her out of the stress position and kneeling with her, gently coaxing her to stand, supporting her tenderly when her legs give way. It’s Elle who walks her to the medics, it’s Elle who rides with her and it’s Elle who stays by her side.
Later, days later, Alex returns to work, Elle refusing to leave her side. Nobody questions it, Alex is on desk duty until she’s seen the BAU’s doctor and Elle will keep her calm, it is the best thing for now.
