Work Text:
This was supposed to be a normal day for Scara, but noooo. It was December 24, and according to Venti it was also
“Christmas Eve! Im sooooo exited! Think Diluc has new drinks at the bar?” Venti asked Scara excitedly. Pff as if he cared about drinks and whatever this Christmas was.
They were sitting at Windrise, doing absolutely nothing. Buer had told Scara to get out and take a break from the Akademiya, so Buer sent him out to Mondstadt to be placed in the hands of her trustworthy archon friend.
But to be honest, Scara didn’t believe Buer’s judgment this time. Venti was a hot mess. But who was he to complain to Buer, the one god who accepted him.
“Pfff. I don’t care about your drinks” he stood up “I shouldn’t even be here, I’m leaving.”
“What?! But Kusanali asked me to look over you? Wait! Where are you going!?” Venti shot up and chased after Scara.
“I’m going home.”
“What you think you can fly home.” Venti laughed.
Scara just stared daggers at Venti. Venti then realized he wasn’t kidding, oh Barbados, he was gonna do it.
“Please, is there anything I can do to make you stay?” Venti hummed “Oh! How about I show you what Christmas is all about! Kusanaili would be proud.” Venti puffed out his chest.
“Hmmm, fine. But don’t expect me to be all cheery.”
Scara complained.
“HORRAY! Come on, let’s go to the city.” Venti skipped away, bottle of wine in hand, and Scara close behind.

Right in front of the fountain, in the center of Mondstadt, was the biggest Christmas tree Mondstadt’s ever seen.
It was decorated top to bottom in fancy Christmas lights, red and white tinsel, and homemade ornaments from the people of Mondstadt.
Venti himself had made a cute little Davalin ornament.
As they walked up to the tree, Venti pulled out his lyre. He plucked a few strings then went into full bard mode. The melody played by his lyre was something Scara had never heard, its music was carried by the wind. It sounded much like a violin, its soft melody calming Scara.
Venti played many songs, keeping the music calming and relaxing. Scara was amazed, he had never heard anything quite like this.
After the tune finished, Venti walked over to Scara. He reached into his pocket and brought out a little anemo symbol ornament. He gave it to Scara.
“Merry Christmas, even if it’s tomorrow. I’m looking forward to spending it with you.” Venti smiled.
“Thank you, this is the best Christmas ever.”
