Staring at the ceiling felt boring to Mind after a few hours. Heart, Mind, and Soul didn’t really need sleep, but they got it anyway to feel more energised in the mornings. Tonight, sleep didn’t seem possible for The Sun.
There was an option to put his system into sleep mode, but that wouldn’t make him feel any more energised in the mornings. He thought of how Soul and Heart could already be fast asleep, fixating on how Heart could look. After a while, he caught himself spacing out thinking about it and shook his head to rid the thought.
Although, it wouldn’t hurt to see if sleeping in the same bed as him helped in any way. No, why was he thinking this? He’s supposed to detest Heart, not want to have him wrapped up in his arms as the two of them slowly drift off together, not listening to him sleepily slur his words, not kissing him on the forehead goodnight-..
“Fucking- Harmonia, give me strength .”
Mind sat up from his bed, eventually building up the courage to walk out his room and make his way to Heart’s. Once there, he knocked on his door and crossed his arms, stood to the side and looking away to hide his slight blush.
Heart groggily sat up, groaning from the fact he had just been woken up. It wasn’t a nice thing to him, being woken up. If always pissed him off. But it was okay on certain occasions, as he had an unwilling soft spot for a specific someone. The Moon trudged his way over to his door, reaching for the handle as he opened the door and lightly rubbed his damaged eyes.
“Whoever you are, you better have a good reason for waking me up.” He spoke, slightly slurring his words, his voice high and silent as it always is when he first wakes up.
“It’s me.” Apollo said, his voice matching Artemis’ but low.
“Oh. What are you doing here?” He yawned, stretching his arms and wings.
”I can’t sleep.” Apollo replied, facing the man in front of him.
“Okay.. how exactly do you expect me to help?” The dim, purple, glowing lights complimented Artemis’ appearance. He always somehow had calming music echoing throughout his room at night, nobody knew how it was possible. The other two didn’t have any of this, but Soul was common to believe it was because he was supposedly Whole’s favourite.
“I was- Um.” He stuttered, not wanting to admit his reasoning for coming to Heart’s room.
“Spit it out, then! You didn’t wake me up for nothing, did you?” The Moon said, almost sounding upset, but knowing very well that ‘soft spot’ was for The Sun.
“I was hoping you would- Be so kind as to- Um.” His face grew blue with blush, slightly sweating just from the thought of asking the question.
“What, do you want me to cuddle you to sleep?” Heart scoffed, meanwhile Mind stayed silent. Heart’s eyebrows furrowed, and he leaned his head forward. “Do you?”
Apollo began to stutter again in an attempt to protest, not really forming words, until he was pulled in and pushed onto Heart’s collection of plushies drowning his bed. “Wh-“ Before he could say anything else, Heart basically leaped onto and laid on top of him with a small grunt, snuggling his face into his chest and wrapping his arms around his torso.
“Why so quiet? Isn’t this what you wanted?” Heart asked, lowering his wings onto and around the two. No reply from Mind, but the only sound emitting from him being his fans’ muffled whirrs under his clothes. “Ah.” The Moon knew what that whirring meant. He let out a small giggle, snuggling further into The Sun and sighing. “No need to be embarrassed, Sun. It’s only me.”
The two were just laying there, basking in the moment. Mind slowly relaxed from his initial tense position, easing up to the feeling of Heart on his chest. His eyes grew half lidded as he stared down at the man below him. The fans whirring in his shoulders annoyingly made it way too obvious how flustered Apollo was, but all he could think about right now was Artemis.
He just looked so adorable. Eyelids shut, cheek squished from his head resting on his other half’s chest, lips slightly pouted. The Sun almost cracked a smile. But, he fought it off, and instead began to play with The Moon’s dark curls. Everything about him just seemed so perfect in this moment. The coils of hair smoothly glided through his cold fingers, as Heart smiled and snuggled further into Mind’s chest.
The Sun had seemed to mutter something under his breath, and he was god awfully lucky that Juno didn’t understand it the first time. “Hm?” he hummed in question, furrowing his eyebrows. “Nothing.”
“I love you, Moonlight.”
“I love you too, Sunbeam.”
