Marinette had discovered several things. First, Lila was a better liar than she thought. Second, her classmates were not very loyal or observant, this included Adrien. Third, Chat’s Identity. Fourth, the identity of Hawkmoth. Last, How her and Chat’s miraculous truly worked. Because of the knowledge of Hawk Moth’s Identity they had just finished reclaiming the Miraculous of the Butterfly and the Peacock. This meant that it was time to reveal herself as she had promised to Chat a long time ago. This came with its own set of problems. As mentioned previously Adrien did not stay with Marinette against Lila, so now he hated Marinette same as with all her other classmates, and it only took a year, which hurt when they didn’t know you were Ladybug and you had to work together and they were kind to Ladybug and terrible to Marinette. Marinette knew that as soon as she revealed herself Chat would turn on her. So with this in mind the said the fated words in tandem with Chat Noir

“Spot off” as soon as Tikki vacated the ear rings she started shouting at Marinette. It should also be mentioned that somehow the Kwamis had sided with Lila as well and fully believed that Marinette was bullying Lila, even Tikki who was always with Marinette and knew that wasn’t the case, but she believed it anyway. So when Tikki started shouting it was about her supposed treatment of Lila and not anything to do with Identities. Plagg then joins in, followed swiftly by Adrien.
This sounds bad. It was bad but Marinette had expected this. She had known this was coming and enacted the plan she had. “I relinquish guardianship of the miracle box to Chat Noir.” Her wording was specific and she had explained it to the Kwamis in hopes they would pass it on to Adrien. If the Guardianship is Chat Noir’s then the mantle just needs to be handed down to pass on the guardianship instead of the ritual that removes your memories of the Miraculous and as such all memories since you first learned about the Miraculous.
Marinette also knew that contrary to popular belief, The Miraculous of the Ladybug does not give the holder good luck it powers itself with the holder's good luck, and The Miraculous of the Black Cat doesn’t give its holder bad luck. The guardian at the temple may not have known this but they had always given the miraculous to someone with the corresponding luck already. Master Fu however had not completed his training and so picked the first person with a good affinity to the miraculous. This had led to him picking Adrien and Marinette who both had poor luck. This is shown by Adrien who while his father was a villain, As soon as he got the Miraculous his father let him go to school he made lifelong friends and got the freedom he desired. The worst thing to happen to him since getting the Miraculous was finding out his father was Hawk Moth. Marinette had even healed his mother before the reveal.
Marinette however only got unluckier. It wasn’t immediately apparent as it gave her friends and people she cared about. The bad luck then fully showed itself in the form of Lila who turned everyone against her including her parents, and the rest of the city, currently Marinette was a homeless 15 year old. Anyone Marinette met was against her. It got so bad one night that Marinette had attempted to commit suicide only to find out her desire to die mixed with her horrendous luck meant she couldn’t die. It didn’t stop the injuries though and they still hurt even several months later.
Marinette hoped that by giving away the guardianship she could forget and maybe start over after all she would forget everything from the age of 13 on. But she should have guessed her luck would strike again bypassing the safety measure the guardian temple placed and force her to retain her memories anyway. And that is what happened meaning she had no allies and no way to get help from anyone. Adrien after yelling at her for several hours took the ear rings and left. Marinette was once more alone with only her anxiety ridden thoughts
