Nick and Charlie are in their kitchen baking some cinnamon cookies for tonight. It’s New Year’s Eve and the couple are spending it alone together for the very first time without their friends or family.
They’re baking cookies and they have a nice bottle of red wine opened. Nick has a surprise in store for Charlie.
“Nick what are you thinking about?” Charlie asks suddenly appearing behind Nick and wrapping his arms around him from behind. Nick leans into the cuddle and turns his head and places a kiss on Charlie’s cheek.
“I was just thinking about how cute you look with flour on your face babe.”
Charlie blushes slightly and wipes away the flour with his sleeve. He looks so utterly adorable that Nick’s heart melts at the site. He really loves his boy. Although he reckons he’s not a boy anymore but a fully grown man. However Charlie will always be his boy.
A couple of hours later the cookies are done and they are cuddling on the couch. Nick pulls Charlie in for a loving kiss and they make out for a little while until their lips are swollen and their hair is all messy.
Nick straightens his hair and then quickly exits the room. He comes back in a minute later and kneels in front of Charlie. He gasps and places his hand over his mouth.
“Charlie darling, I’ve loved you since we first met in school and I always will. We’ve been through so much together and I want to spend the rest of our lives together. Will you marry me baby?”
Tears slide down Charlie’s cheeks. He is speechless so he just nods breathlessly. Then he runs into Nick’s arms. Who spins him round in the air and kisses him heatedly on the mouth.
They both then glance at the clock. The countdown is about to start!

Nick takes Charlie’s hand. His silver band on his left hand shining. He places a kiss on the ring.
