Chapter Text
Since everything that had happened in the past week, Suki had taken comfort and a sense of safeness staying at the Slaters with Eve and the family. It was a strange but joyed experience knowing she no longer had to hide who she was anymore, and knew that many happier times were going to happen in her life, especially learning to recover and move forward.
Suki turned over to face Eve, it was a tight squeeze due to Eve having a single bed but nothing was better than being able to wake up next to the love of her life, and it was something she aspired to do for the rest of her life.
Carefully tucking the loose strand of hair which was infront of Eve's face behind her ear, she softly placed a kiss to her lovers forehead.
"Eve, sweetheart." She whispered, unsure if Eve was ready to get up yet, despite it being 10am and the kids and everyone else was already up.
"Mmmmm, not yet." Eve smiled in a midst of mumbling noises but slightly opening her eyes.
Suki moved her head forewards to rest her forehead on Eve's.
"Hi."
"Hello." Eve whispered now being more aware of her surroundings whilst waking up.
Eve opened her eyes and carefully placed a kiss on Suki's cheek which was instantly accepted, and greeted with a massive grin.
"I love waking up next to you, definetly one of my favourite feelings in the world." Suki whispered, moving down ever so slightly to lay her head on Eve's shoulder as Eve sat up to get more comfortable from the position they ended up falling asleep in from the night before.
Eve placed a kiss to the top of her head. "Ditto, my love. Nothing I want more in this world."
"Do you know what day it is?"
"Is that a trick question?" Eve questioned with a slight innocent smirk on her face.
"It's New Years Eve, Eve." Suki giggled, "Hm, that's funny, Eve, Eve."
"I think you're still half asleep love, but yes, yes it is indeed." She sighed happily.
Nothing brought them more contentness other than knowing they were going into the New Years as an out and proud couple, knowing there was great times ahead from them. They still had alot of time to work some stuff out, but as long as they had eachother, nothing else mattered.
They had eachother, and that was enough.
