'There's glitter on the floor after the party..'
Piper sat on the beach out in Montauk. Percy had thrown a new years eve party in his mothers cabin in Montauk. Alot of demigods were there, Annabeth, Frank, Leo, Hazel, Reyna, Nico, Will, Percy-- obviously, and Rachel (despite being a mortal.) Piper was there too, obviously. And her friends, Nico especially, convinced her to bring her girlfriend, Shel. Shel was inside the cabin talking to others. It was alot for piper- her head still vaugley pounding from the night before. The waves crashed along the shire, dampening the sand under Piper. It was quiet, peaceful, despite the occasional muffled yell from the cabin.
'Girls carrying their shoes down in the lobby..'
"Hey my pretty girl." Shel smiled. She sat down next to piper on the shoreline. Her hair was.. straightened, which was new. Shel saw piper eyeing it. "Annabeth and Hazel wanted to see my hair straight. They were bored, i let them." She chuckled. Piper nodded. Shel saw the tension in pipers shoulders. "Love, are you okay?"
'Candle was and Polaroids on the hardwood floor..'
"Yeah. I'm... not thrilled that we could be alone together..I love my friends but I just wanted.. you." Piper moved and kissed shel softly. "How is everyone else doing? Are they as hungover as me?" She chuckled, trying to lighten her mood.
'You and me from the night before.. but-'
"They're okay. Most are asleep. So were on cleanup duty. But love, I know you wanted it to be just us... what did you want there to be- or for us to do?" Shel moved and rubbed pipers shoulders, calming piper some.
'Don't read the last page..'
"Mmh.. dance. kiss. and- everything else isn't very PG." She basically purred, leaning down and back into Shel's shoulder rubs.
'But I stay when you're lost, and I'm scared, and you're turning away..'
"We're not a very PG relationship," Shel stated with a soft chuckle. She saw piper smirk at that. "Come here." Piper took shels hand with slight hesitation. Shel grabbed her phone and played a soft quiet song. Her head rested on pipers shoulder. Piper smiled softly, her hand going to shels power back, their hands intertwining as they slow danced.
"I want your midnights.." Piper muttered, she pulled shel a little closer.
"Well, I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Years Day."
'You squeeze my hand three times in the back of a taxi..'
"I love you.." Shel's lips met pipers soft jawline, kissing softly. Piper pulled her more agaisnt her again, sighing contnetly.
'I can tell it's going to be a long road..'
"I know." She tilted Shel's face up by her chin. Her forehead rested agaisnt hers, she took a breath, taking in shels scent.
'I'll be there if you're the toast of the town, babe..'
"I know you wanted to be with me alone for the new years.. but.. damn I'm glad we're doing this. Dancing, I mean.' Shel sighed.
'Or if you strike put and you're crawling home..'
"We can always do more than dancing."
"Im not willing to fuck you on the beach."
"Eh, it was worth a shot to see if you would be."
Shel chuckled softly. "Maybe later."
'Don't read the last page..'
Piper smiled. She heard the music slow to a stop. Her hand slid from Shel's back. But Shel didn't let go. Piper kissed her lips softly. "What about New Years Day?"
"Taylor Swift? Not my jam, babe."
"I know..One song, please."
'But I stay when it's hard, or it's wrong, and we're making mistakes..'
Shel grabbed her phone and pulled New Years Day by Taylor Swift. Piper led them dancing during this song. It was slightly more fast paced then the last song they danced to. Piper was humming softly, and well.. "I want your midnights.. but I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Years day."
Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you..
Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you...
Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you...
"And I will hold on to you." Shel muttered. Pipers hands tightened against hers.
"I thought you didn't like Taylor Swift."
"Shut up."
"I love you too."
Shel put her head on pipers shoulder, her eyes drifted shut as they slowly danced as the song slowed.
"Please don't, ever become a stranger.. whose laugh I could recognize anywhere. Please don't, ever become a stranger.. whose laugh I could recognize anywhere..." Piper was singing the lyrics softly. As much as Shel didn't like Taylor Swift, she could listen to piper sing her songs for hours on end.
There's glitter on the floor after the party..
girls carrying their shoes down in the lobby.
Candlewax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor..
"You and me-"
"-Forevermore."
