Five days until the party... AGAIN !

Summary:

William Afton's death was their happiest day. They were finally going to be free from the animatronic suits that had trapped them for decades, fly to paradise, and finally rest in peace. It was the only condition for these children's souls to move on; their murderer had to be killed.

They had all been killed by the same person, except for one of them. The man behind the slaughter hadn't taken the life of his youngest son, Evan. It was his brother, Michael, who was the sole and only responsible. Even though Evan had forgiven him, the condition remained unchanged: Michael had to be eliminated for him to find peace... and that was out of the table. The only way to change the course of events was to ensure that Michael was not his killer... that the bite of 83 never happened.

Or, Evan goes back in time five days before his birthday to prevent his death !

You can choose your ending.

Notes:

Another FNAF time travel fic cuz i love them and i wanted to write one :P

(yep... no originality XD)

This is probably gonna be a short fic with something like 5-6 chapters, or maybe more. (edit : This is indeed beyond this limit lol)
This is slightly in the continuation of my other fic "It's Me" (only if you choose the Forgiveness ending lol) but you don't need to read it to undestrand this one if you already know the fnaf lore. Btw i dont know if i should call this an AU because obviously with the time travel bullshit there is canon divergence.

ENJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY !!!

Chapter 1: Fazbear's Fright Burns to the Ground!

Chapter Text

Michael knew what they wished to do to free themselves… he knew what he had to do to set them free. They had attempted several times, but it was futile. He always came back… Killing him in his own suit hadn't worked; now he haunted it, hiding like a rat in this old horror park painted in the colors of decay and death.

The ventilation started to go haywire, but the night guard paid no mind even though he knew these hallucinations would come sooner or later. Well... he knew that the ghostly shapes of these animatronics didn't come from his thoughts, but from those who wanted to depart and whom he wanted to set free.

Michael wasted no time and grabbed the poor-quality camera before it was too late. It didn't turn on; the night guard grew impatient. It was his last night at Fazbear Fright; he couldn't fail.

"Come on, you shitty…"

The device finally lit up after Mike gave it a slap. Michael couldn't help but smile, but not for long. He switched cameras multiple times, but there was nothing… Now he started to tremble. His gaze didn't leave the poor-quality screen; he examined every detail to know precisely where he was. So intensely that he didn't pay attention to his breathing, which became more and more… difficult, nor to the alarm indicating that he clearly needed to fix the ventilation. If it were any other night of the other four, he would have done it without hesitation and without wasting a second; he was used to it after working at Freddy's for so long. But today, he let the alarm ring, and finally, he understood that the camera would no longer serve him… because he could hear it. Michael no longer needed to monitor Springtrap; he knew that monster was coming for him.

The metallic steps of that putrefied body fused with a decades-old rusty costume echoed to the night guard's office. So Michael turned off the camera monitor, slumped into his chair, and sighed, convinced that this night could end extremely badly for him.

"I… I have to do it for them. They didn't deserve this… they were just kids," he murmured, his voice broken.

The night guard saw Springtrap's shadow through the large window. He didn't play the sound to lure it somewhere else, away from him. He wanted it close, very close to him. His sad smile turned into pure hatred.

"…and William will finally pay."

He pulled out a pack of matches. He was about to commit a fucking patricide.

...

Springtrap was surprised that Michael didn't put up any defense; he even found it suspicious. However, he didn't complain and moved discreetly towards the security room, ready to finish it… until he felt a presence behind him. He turned abruptly and thought he saw a shape forming in the darkness.

"It must be those stupid kids I killed," said William Afton's raspy voice.

The killer had never understood why the children's souls attacked the night guard without harming him but never approached him. Were they that foolish? Springtrap refocused and prepared to settle scores with his son. Passing by the large window, he didn't realize that Michael was staring at him… The killer's soul noticed too late the apparent smile on the night guard's face. It resembled the one William had on the day he committed the serial murder of children. The man behind the slaughter had fallen into the trap, just like the day he had put on Springbonnie to protect himself from the vengeful spirits.

...

The others had told him it was his turn... For four nights, he hadn't attempted what they did every evening. The hollow eyes of a phantom Golden Freddy observed the night guard's office. It was simple, slip into his office and jumpscare, frighten, traumatize him.

"But it's for the right cause, he mustn't come back, it's too dangerous here," murmured the voice of a young boy.

When he noticed that the coast was clear, he took the main corridor to surprise him... The expression of the phantom animatronic was devoid of any emotion, but the child inside was uncertain. Although he was convinced that he and his friends were acting for his good, he noticed that something was wrong... Were they really helping the night guard? As he approached slowly, he saw a faint light through the window... the light grew and illuminated the entire corridor. The greenish walls covered in mold were finally lit for the first time. But it wasn't reassuring, without waiting, the ghost hurried to the security room.

For decades, he hadn't been dazzled. Nonetheless, the ghost could perfectly see what was happening in that room. A night guard, an animatronic overflowing with human flesh... between them, a huge trail of fire. The boy squinted and saw a spilled gasoline barrel and... matches.

"He... he's trying to kill him?" he thought.

Nevertheless, Springtrap seemed to have avoided his imminent death. But the fire was spreading rapidly. The night guard seemed to take the risk. But everything seemed too difficult to see with the smoke starting to accumulate.

"It's time to give up, William, you cannot force these poor souls to suffer more."

Springtrap's hoarse laughter echoed throughout the horror park, which was slowly catching fire through the vents.

"Do you think these brats will find peace? If you try to burn me today, tomorrow I will rise from the ashes..."

The ghost saw the night guard slowly step back, then grab a hammer, probably to break the window and flee. But Springtrap no longer feared the flames, despite the burns beginning to form on his legs; he crossed the barrier of fire...

The night guard hurried to break the glass, which exploded into thousands of pieces, the ghost of Golden Freddy saw them pass through his body because... well... he was a ghost. No one came out. Instead, an object fell to the ground. It was the hammer. The child's soul feared the worst... Inside, Springtrap had managed to throw his target to the ground before he had time to escape.

"... but if this damned establishment were to be completely reduced to ashes, why not die together, hand in hand, father and son?"

Confusion could now be read on the metallic face of the ghost.

"Father and... son?" he repeated, unsure if he had heard correctly.

"So, then you can come back as if nothing happened? Well, fuck that! I'm not leaving you alone."

He tried to grab the hammer, but received the metallic fist straight to the face.

This time, Springtrap grabbed him by the throat and lifted him... the guard's shoes left the ground, the flames approached, the ghost trembled. But he froze when he saw a small object reflecting the fire's light. Springtrap had brandished a knife.

"It would be an honor for me to spare you the agony of the flames, Michael."

The night guard could only watch the orange sea approaching them; he could already feel the already high temperature rising to an unbearable degree... so he prepared to have the blade already stained with blood in his heart. The same blade that had massacred five children in 1985.

The boy's soul couldn't believe it. He tried to study the night guard's head, was it really him? Through the flames, he saw a tired man, with an almost purple skin... paying attention, he looked like an undead. But it was him. William's son...

Evan Afton's big brother.

The animatronic ghost wasted no more time; he felt rage building up as he saw Springtrap pressing his blade against his older brother's heart. Despite all the resentment Evan might have towards Michael, he wouldn't let it happen. His and the other souls' job was to ensure that William wouldn't kill anyone else. And he wouldn't fail.

Springtrap heard the slight sound of the flesh of his son... he didn't remove his blade.

"What did you think you would achieve, Michael? Huh? You thought it would be easy to kill your own father?"

His father continued to cut off his breath, Michael groaned.

"And before you say that I'm a murderer so I deserve to die, don't forget that you too are a killer, son."

The night guard ceased all resistance and stared at his father, eyes wide open. Springtrap brought his face closer to his.

"Despite all the shit I have caused, it's you, and you alone, who tortured your little brother before killing him in a dreadful manner. You have blood on your hands, just like me."

ROOOAAAR!

Michael felt the pressure suddenly release from his throat; a mysterious presence had intervened between him and his father, it sounded like the scream of the phantom animatronics. He fell to the ground and looked up. He didn't expect this. The ghost of Golden Freddy watched Springtrap being consumed by the flames. But Michael didn't even have time to blink as the flames threatened to eat him too. He passed one leg and then the other through the broken glass, preparing to flee from Fazbear Fright for good. However, he cast a final glance behind him. In the distance, amidst the flames, he saw the ghost of Golden Freddy staring at him with its empty eyes... Michael could swear he saw a smile forming on that muzzle.
