Gentle patters could be heard from all around, droplets of rain hitting the hood of the ravenettes windbreaker. The sky was clouded over a storm was imminent. The wind picked up lightly, and in response, the girl hid her face lower into her raised collar.
‘The rains gonna start picking up any time soon… should I buy an umbrella?’
Akio walked briskly, clutching the plastic convenience store bag tighter as the wind picked up once more—this time, almost blowing her hood off.
‘Yeah. The weather is definitely not going to let up any time soon. Best to be prepared.’
Changing from her original path, Akio headed inside a nearby convenience store.

“Your total will be ¥577.”
Handing a few bills to the cashier, Akio picked up her cheap convenience store umbrella, walking out briskly and ignoring the cashiers call for her to come retrieve her change.
‘I wonder how uncle is doing.’
Akio opened up her clear umbrella, making her way through the dense crowds of Tokyo.
bzzzt
A series of buzzes from her pocket had the Zen’in’s brow twitching in irritation, the vibration feeling uncomfortable against her hip. Heading underneath the overhang of a bus stop, she closed her umbrella, shaking it off before unzipping her pocket and reaching for the phone inside.
Opening up her flip phone, the blue screen illuminated throughout the gray light around her.
Sōgen Ciel: Zen’in-san, a rainstorm is coming soon. Get back to school quick! I’m on the metro right now, if we arrive at the path at the same time, we should walk with eachother!
‘Ah. Her partner.’ Sōgen and Akio had gone on their first mission together, along with going to a restaurant with their class and a student visiting from Kyoto. Ever since then, they’ve been trying to connect with the Zen’in more. Akio didn’t mind, but she didn’t know how to reciprocate the affection too well.
