Work Text:

One problem that little you had was being too curious, often leading to your parents realising they lost you and having to search for you for hours only to find you passed out behind a tree. So when you saw a certain blue-haired boy running into the woods your only option was to follow him, right?

The problem being that said little boy didn't want any visitors or even any friends for that matter. So at your sudden appearance to his private spot, he wasn't very thrilled.

"What are you doing here"

You twirled around, finally getting a good look at the person you were following. it was Zandik, a kid from your class and the outcast of the town. You never paid much attention to him but from what you could tell, he was as smart as he was antisocial, actively pushing others away. Literally. Now that you think about it, you hadn't seen him for weeks?

"What are you doing in here Zandik?"

You counter, not taking his tone lightly. He scowls and takes a step through the trees, his small body stepping into to the light, letting you see the scars and bruises littering his body.

"this is my spot, I found it. Leave"

He takes another step forward and you take one back. Despite the parents being hush-hush about him, your mother did tell you one thing. "Stay away from that boy, He's dangerous". You thought it was strange, he seemed fine... but....it's your mum! She wouldn't lie to you? She wants what's best for you.

"Don't you want some company?"

"Company? what do you take me for? some kind of child!"

You frown slightly, your hands dangling by your sides

"yes?-"

His face contorts into anger, his nails dining into the palm of his hand

"I am not some child! i am not like you!"

He shouts into your face, making you stumble back and trip over a tree root. You can't stop the tears that well in your eyes, your hands cut from the fall and your butt starting to each.

Maybe he was just like what your mother said?

His face softens but a look of panic suddenly washes over instead, he opens his mouth but nothing comes out. what a genius he is, he can't even figure out his own emotions. You quietly sob, calling your mother, who has definitely just realised you're gone by your screaming.

He does the only thing he's learned how to do when it comes to conflict. He runs.

Eventually, your mother finds you, picks you up and calms you down. Cutting your little trip short and heading off to bed early. Your mother sings you songs and whispers calming things into your ear as you explain what happened. She tells you that she is always right and you have to listen to her more. You agree. By the time you arrive home, you've almost completely forgotten about your fall, instead focusing on how he yelled at you. The only person you've seen as angry as him is your father and that was only once. What did you do to get screamed at?

You twist in your bed and rest your eyes, choosing to sleep it off. A certain someone who is the cause of these emotions watches you through your window, his blood-red eyes peering into your room and at your sleeping figure. Gulit consuming him.

By the time you wake, Zandik is long gone but worry not! he's made sure to take a small sample of your blood and write you a small note, simply saying 'sorry'.

Notes:

Turned a little more creepy than i intended. Anyway hope it was at least interesting and at most enjoyable.
