At 12:40 AM, Tim walks down the station after a long day outside. Metro was called different times today due to a bunch of random cases. As he walked into his office, a couple of things had caught his eye. One, the never ending stack of folders that screams ‘urgent’. Two, their wedding photo plastered on a small picture frame on top of his desk. Smiling from ear to ear, arms around his wife . He smiled bitterly at that memory. He gathers his things and goes straight outside where his truck is parked and heads home.
Arriving home not later than twenty minutes later, he drops his backpack on the bench beside the door, drops his keys and takes off his boots. He goes straight to the bathroom inside their bedroom. He then strips all his clothes and gets into the warm shower, taking the soap beside her body wash that’s been refilled three times these past months. Once done with the shower, he hangs his towel beside hers , brushes his teeth and places it on the holder where hers still hangs and goes into their closet that still contains some of the items that she left.
He lays on the left side of their bed, while Kojo jumps on the bed with him. He turns to the right and feels the empty part of the bed, “Come home baby.”
Kojo hears him, sadly whines and looks at him… “I know bud, I miss your mommy too. So much.”
