Chapter Text
In the quiet dawn, Naruto Uzumaki, the three whiskered and azure eyed blonde, sits atop the Hokage Monument, specifically on his idol, the Yondaime Hokage.
While young Naruto gazes at the sky, he smiles as he sees an eagle flying. But his smile soon fades away when a second eagle accompanies the other eagle, flying and soaring off to wherever they went.
Naruto, with both hands in his pocket, kicking away dirt, is walking through the village. He hears many negative chatter and gossips about him, but chooses to ignore it.
Two women are looking at Naruto walking, with one of them saying, “I hear it’s true.” One of them says. “That boy, huh?” Her friend replys. They continue to watch Naruto when a ball then reaches at Naruto’s feet.
Naruto is shocked by the action and smiles. Someone finally wanted to play with the Young blonde. His smile then drops when the father tells her daughter to not play with him and stating that he might do something. Naruto dropped the ball and walked away. Hoping to not cause any commotion.
Naruto continues to walk around when he overheard slurping noises inside the ramen stand. He checks his pocket for money, but all he had were small change. His stomach growled and decided to return back to his apartment running.
“What a weird kid.” According to the words of a young Uchiha that Naruto ran passed by.
“I’m home” Naruto said to no one upon entering his home, hungry and peniless. He then sat on his bed, then plummeting down his bed. Looking at the ceiling for a moment before letting out tears of sadness.
Ever since birth, Naruto grew up alone. He had no one in his life. No one to call mother, father, and friend. He always wondered why he had this life. Why no one wanted to be near him. Why no one wanted to love him.
Climbing and jumping from tree to tree, Naruto was searching for any kind of food he could find. While standing on a tree branch, Naruto heard a slight snapping sound and soon enough, the tree branch he stood on snapped earning a yelp from Naruto.
“Oww…” Naruto said after landing on his butt. He was them surprised when ha saw a wide variety of mushrooms around him. He collected them all in one big bowl. He was sure that they weren’t poisonous. After all, Naruto loved reading books, especially books that taught him cooking. Naruto decided to go fishing in a nearby small pond with a waterfall. His hunting session was a success by having caught 5 fishes.
It was afternoon, soon nearing nightfall. “Just in time!” Naruto said after seeing all his caught fished were now cooked. He had been craving for food all day long. Safe to say, Naruto was really satisfied with how his outing turned out.
While Naruto was eating, and old man approached near Naruto’s face, surprising him. “Ahhh! Wh-who are you?!” Naruto said as he was caught off guard. He hadn’t expect to see anyone in the forest. The stranger replied “Just an old man passing through”
There was a moment of silence between the two. The blue-eyed youngling studying the old man in front of him. Naruto was about to question the old man by saying that he seems familiar, but before he got the chance to say anything, a fart broke out causing both of them to laugh.
“Hey gramps, here, eat this.” Naruto offered a fish to the old man. “Oh, thank you.” The old man replied happily taking the fish. “Oh, this looks good” the old man said making Naruto smile and saying “That’s because I caught it! So of course, it tastes good.”
“Look at the stars. Each on of those stars is like our world’s sun. What do you think? The sheer amount is incredible, eh?” Naruto took a moment before answering the old man’s question. “You mean the sun? The thing that shines in the sky during the day? Yeah, it’s pretty cool to think about the amount of stars, gramps. It also makes the sky look beautiful too.” “The world is boundless and I agree with you, the stars in the sky do look beautiful.” The old man replied to Naruto. “You’re pretty cool for an old man, gramps!” Naruto joked which earned a laugh from the old man.
“Compared to the vastness of the world, man’s existence is very insignificant. The things that insignificant humans fret about are petty indeed.” Naruto replied with a face of realization. “No kidding, the world is big, huh.” His smile began to turn into a frown and said “It goes on and on…” Naruto knew about the concept of life and death. He was always sad thinking about his dead parents. Or if they were even dead. It made him even sadder thinking that what if they are alive, but they want nothing to do with me.
Naruto wanted to feel what love was like. He’s glad that there a times, such as the time with the old man right now, where he feels happy. But Naruto knows that happiness doesn’t always last. That’s why he genuinely wants to know what love feels like because he feels if someone loved him, he’d always have happiness and never loneliness.
Before Naruto would get even more sadder, another fart broke out, causing the both of them to laugh again. They spent mire time talking to each other, eating soup, laughing, and being happy.
“Hey gramps, don’t I know you? You seem familiar…”
“Well, maybe it’s because im the Sandaime Hokage.”
“WHATTT?!?!?”
