Chapter Text

Jay sat on a building with Addison about a week after the planning had gone down. Logan and Jason agreed to let one of the meeting days be just a time for the couple to hang out.

He held his arms around her as she sat on his lap, facing him, with her arms around his neck. "I'm glad we got the chance to do this James." Addison grinned.

James pecked her on the forhead. "Me too. It's been so long since we've been together, just us. Alone."

Addison chuckled. "It has. It sucks how it's short though."

"I feel the same. If only I could come back already! I should have just given them all memory pills!" James griped, getting angry.

Addison placed her lips on his, kissing him to calm down her stressed boyfriend. It worked as he melted into it. "It will take time babe. In the long run, when you win and the ninja are broken up, it will be worth it."

"You're right. Thank goodness you can keep my head straight." James smiled.

"You have your next plan right? Mind telling me what it is?" She asked with pleading puppy eyes.

James laughed at it. "Aww. Come on now. No need for the eyes. I was going to tell you if you asked."

Addison smiled and motioned for him to continue. "I could only find one in stock anywhere, but I got some special tea that will turn anyone who drinks it into a baby, and they won't age without the counter tea. Meaning, the others won't be able to wait for the effects to wear off, or for him to age."

"Aww. But, won't they leave you with the baby?"

"They can try, but I have no real experience, and I doubt they'd trust me. So that means there will probably be two gone each mission, unless Wu or Misako watch the baby."

"Do you know who it's going to be?" Addison asked.

James shook his head. "I'm just tossing the bag in the cupboard we hold our tea bags in and seeing who gets it. If it's Kai again, so be it!"

Addison snuggled against him and he hugged her. "I can't wait until we can spend more time together."

James leaned back and Addison lay on his chest. He stroked her hair as she rested on him. "Me too love. Me too."

They stayed that way for a little while longer before James had to leave.

He kissed her goodbye and she returned it, knowing that it would be the last time either of them saw each other for a bit.

"I'll try to hurry with this. Alright love?" James said.

Addison hugged him again. "Okay. I'll wait until we can see each other again."

Logan got up to the roof and said goodbye before taking Addison back to the hideout and James made his way back to the monistary.

~~~ Timeskip a week~~~
Kai and Lloyd lay in Lloyd's room on the bed, snuggling. It had been about two weeks since Kai had regained his memory, and they spent lots of time together to make up for it.
Lloyd snuggled against Kai's chest as if he'd never get to do this again.
Kai chuckled. "Someone's affectionate today." He squeezed his boyfriend as Lloyd's cheeks flushed red.
"I just wanna snuggle. Leave me alone." He whined jokingly. "You had no memories of me for the past month, so you owe me."
"Whatever you say Energy Ball." Kai smiled.
It was about seven thirty in the morning. Kai had memorized pretty much everyone's morning schedules.
Zane got up at nine everyday.
Wu around eight fourty.
Misako mainly slept until ten.
Nya got up whenever her schedule said was a good time to, depending on what she had to do.
Lloyd and Kai both woke up at eight.
Jay came out of his room when necessary but generally came out at late times around noon. But because of that, Kai didn't have an exact time.
Cole was the only one up this early. He usually got up at around six to seven in the morning. Kai and Lloyd just didn't sleep that long today.
A loud crash rang it's way through the house. It didn't bother anyone who was asleep and Lloyd and Kai set it aside as Cole accidentally knocking something over. But something was off.
"Maybe we should check on him?" Lloyd suggested a few minutes later. "Cole's always cautious not to make any noise in the mornings."
"He's honestly probably okay love." Kai said looking at Lloyd. "Everyone knocks things over, even when their careful."
Lloyd sighed. "You're right."
The two calmed down and sat in silence. Kai stared snoring softly and Lloyd was partially awake. He listened to his boyfriend's snores and paid attention to how his chest rose and fell, shifting Lloyd's body ever so slightly.
He had almost drifted into a sleep when he thought he heard slapping and screeches of something small. He shook it off as his imagination from being half awake.
Another scream rang out. It wasn't a scream of pain or anger, Lloyd knew that for sure. But he couldn't deny that there was something going on outside of the room.
The sound of something small smacking the door reached his ears. Lloyd sat up and faced Kai, shaking him. "Kai. Hey. Something is banging on the door."
Kai stirred. "What do you mean? Nobody would be bothering us at this time." Lloyd knew that Kai was groggy, and probably thought it was a dream.
"It's not someone or something big. It's small. I can tell from the noise." Lloyd pushed.
"It's probably just a small animal that got inside. Someone will take care of it later." Kai insisted. "Just lay back down."
Lloyd sat up and put his feet on the floor. "I'm going to check it out. It's still smaking the door."
Kai nodded his okay and lay his head back down as Lloyd made his way to the door. He heard a familiar giggle outside the door. But he had no idea what one would be doing here.
He opened the door. Outside the door stood a black haired baby, that fell when Lloyd opened the door. The baby looked up at Lloyd and giggled, reaching out his hands. Lloyd stared. He was right!
The baby had a darker skin tone than he did. The eyes were black, with a gold highlight. Around the baby's body was Cole's tank top, the one he wore to bed.
"You're kidding?" Lloyd said, bending down to pick up the child.
Kai sat up, intrest peaked. "What is it Energy Ball?" He asked.
Lloyd turned around with the toddler in his arms, still covered with the oversized shirt. "Something has happened again." Showing the child to Kai.
Kai stood up, walking over to the two. "No way. Is that Cole?" He reached out his hands and took the mini Cole in his hands.
When Kai took the infant, he began to fuss and cry. Panicking himself, he gave Cole back to Lloyd. "Nope. I took care of Nya! No more babies for me. Doesn't look like he wants me either."
Lloyd took back Cole, who stopped fussing. "It's alright Spicer." He assured his boyfriend. Cole looked to be around two to three years old. "We should tell the others."
Kai nodded. "What happened to him?"
"Who knows. But that must've been the commotion from downstairs earlier. Must've been doing something, then started going small, knocking things over." Lloyd said, heading to the closet room, Nya's.
Kai knocked on Nya's door. She would've been up in an hour or so. "Nya. It's Kai. Lloyd and I are coming in."
"Alright!" Her voice called out and Kai opened the door. Nya faced her brother. "What's up?"
"So, this will look a bit strange, but..." Kai moved so Lloyd could come into the room with the kid.
Nya's jaw dropped at the sight of Cole. "Is Cole a baby? How?"
Lloyd shook his head. "We have no idea. There was a crash downstairs, then a little bit later, he was banging at the door."
"He's so small." Nya reached out to see if Cole would let her hold him. Cole reached out his hands and let Nya take him. "Go gather the others downstairs, I'll be in the kitchen to see if we have any food he'll be able to eat."
Kai and Lloyd nodded and ran to get the others.
~~~

Everyone was gathered in the foyer as Nya came from the kitchen holding Cole and a bowl of peas.

There was a collective gasp at the sight of Cole.

"He's, small." Zane pointed out. Cole reached out for Lloyd, and Nya handed him over along with the bowl of peas.

Kai and Lloyd explained how they had found Cole outside their door, and what they think happened. Wu had snuck into the kitchen during the explanation and came out with a tea bag that had been tossed out.

"I believe I found out what happened to Cole." Wu said, holding up the tea bag. "Childs tea. And not the kind in which the effects wear off, or he grows up."

"How'd the heck did a kind of special tea get in with the regular?" Jay asked.

"Concidering how we don't buy any, only Senei does." Nya inputed.

"I can't think of a logical explanation unless Sensei accidentally put it on the counter and someone put it with the others." Zane said.

"It didn't come from me." Wu said. "I don't buy this kind. Besides, this kind of Childs tea is hard to find, the anti tea for it is just as hard to locate."

"So is sabbatoge on the list?" Kai asked.

"Who knows. Nobody can get up here easily. " Jay said.

Lloyd's voice spoke out through all of the questions and theories. "Well no matter what happened, Cole drank it and is now a baby. So, we need to take care of him." He looked around at everyone.

Everyone but Nya avoided his gaze. Wu and Misako watched the students. Lloyd sighed. He wasn't mad, in fact he had a small smile. "I'll watch him then."

Nya gasped. "What? Why not me?"

"You can watch him when you're not busy, but you usually have too much going on to watch him on a constant daily."

Kai frowned. "I don't know Lloyd. I'm not the best with kids."

Lloyd turned to his boyfriend. "Please Spicer?" Lloyd pleaded, using Kai's nickname and giving puppy eyes.

Kai looked down at baby Cole, who gave him a small grumpy face with his tongue sticking out slightly. Kai's face softened into a gentle smirk. "Oh alright. But you're going to do most of the work, I'll help."

Lloyd's face brightened. "Yes! Thank you!" He went up to Kai and pecked him on the lips. "Love you!"

Lloyd looked at Cole who squealed. "Let's see if we can find you smaller clothes that can fit better than that big tank top." Taking the child, he ran upstairs.

Kai sighed. "He's so insistent on taking care of Cole. It's cute. But I wonder why?"

Misako walked up to him. "He was an only child, so he may be projecting some brotherly instincts onto Cole. Ones that he never got to use."

"But you'd have to ask him yourself Kai." Nya said, placing a hand on her brother's shoulder. "Who knows what he's thinking."

Kai smiled at his sister and Misako. "I'll do that at some point. Thanks." He turned and started to make his way back upstairs.

Nya headed to help Zane with fixing some things. Jay had left a little while ago, probably back to his room.

Wu spoke to Misako openly, meaning it wasn't anything confidential. "I'll start trying to look for the counter tea for Cole."

Misako nodded. "Jay again?" Misako whispered so only Wu could hear.

"Yes. I saw him put it in the cupboard about a week ago. I don't believe he had a specific target. As long as someone turned. Even if it was Kai again."

They stopped talking as they heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
