Chapter Text
Mike and Jack had been friends since grade school, and now that they were older, they'd come up with a unique way to spend a Saturday night - ghost-hunting.
The two had heard from their local Library that the abandoned Hawkins Mansion was said to be haunted, so they decided to investigate for themselves.
Jack: 'Hey, why don't we check out that old mansion by the lake? I heard it's haunted.'
Mike: 'Sure, let's do it! I dare you to spend a night there!'
Excited by the prospect of a real ghost hunt, the two gathered their supplies and set out for the Hawkins Mansion.
The mansion was dark and misty, with a chill emanating from within. Mike and Jack quickly ran inside, hoping to find a ghost.
The two explored the house, quietly calling out for any potential ghosts. But nothing seemed to be stirring; the only sound that could be heard was the creaking of the old house.
Mike: 'Man, this place is creepy! Let's check the attic next?'
Jack: 'Yeah, let's see if we can spot any paranormal activity there!'
The two ventured to the attic, but were met with disappointment - there were no signs of a ghost, just piles of cobwebs and old furniture.
Jack was ready to call it a night, but Mike still had hope. He led them to the basement, eager to see if they could find a spirit down there.
The basement was even more eerie than the rest of the house. Mike and Jack fanned out to search. Suddenly, a loud bang reverberated throughout the room - but both men were unperturbed by the noise.
Mike: 'That must have been a ghost! Let's take one more look around before we go.'
In the corner, Jack spotted something. It was a spectral figure, gliding through the rafters - an actual ghost! Mike and Jack looked upon the ghost in awe, amazed that they'd finally encountered the paranormal.
The ghost floated past them and vanished as quickly as it had come.
Mike and Jack stood there, stunned. After a moment of respectful silence, they shared a knowing glance - they'd just experienced the adventure of a lifetime.
