| PROLOGUE |
"Wake up...Kayla."
When I opened my eyes for the first time, the first thing I saw was the vibrant blue sky above me. The gentle breeze blew my fatigue away, as I regained my senses. I was in the middle of a massive field, with no one in sight.
"Weird, I'm pretty sure someone called my name while I was asleep..." I muttered, standing up straight and looked around. Behind my back was a mountain range, with greenery flourishing across its slope and dry valleys in between. From afar, I could see a city... so familiar... yet so distant.
What? Where am I?....Who...am I?
Is my name...Kayla?
Suddenly, memories poured into my mind like a waterfall, filling me with the knowledge of a life that wasn't mine. I collapsed to the ground, clutching my head in pain.
"No.......ugh...make it.......stop..."
"Kayla....You must help me..." A mysterious voice of a woman whispered to me as the pain faded away ever so slowly. "You are my only hope..."
"Who...are you?"
"...I am....your mother, Kayla." The voice replied to her. "My name is Agate... Agate Lightvale. I'm sorry that I couldn't be with you, my dear creation..... But know that I love you with all my heart..."
"...mother..." She muttered weakly, her eyes shutting tight.
"My child...I need you to prevent monsters from living together with humans." Agate continued. "It would just be a bomb, waiting to explode...This is to ensure humanity's survival...can you do it?"
".....yes....mother..."
And with that, a calamity will soon befall the city of Determino. But they wouldn't know that just yet.
