Gabriel lent on michal’s desk clearly frustrated “Ugh we have to make more animals”
Michal glared at him upwards though here eyebrows “quit complaining and make something. Let's just make something and hide it some where humans won't see” she didnt care much about how well the tasks were done and just wanted to get it over with
Gabriel looked back down at her as she swayed in a swivel chair “whatever I don't have time for this who else is free right now”
Michal typed something into her desktop, it was unnecessarily large for a computer heaven but she liked it that way, when Azirafel had seen it he called it “outdated”, michal didnt know what that meant but it sounded mean so she kept the computer out of spite. “it's just Muriel available right now” michal had tried to hide it but it was clear in her voice how much she disliked Murial.
Gabriel audibly sighed as if he was trying to be heard “Seriously that idiot, surly just one animal can't be that hard.” he didn't want Murial to make an entire animal on her own as he simply did trust her to do it right but he didn't want to do it himself even more.
Michal dialled Murials office on another outdated piece of equipment this time it was a shiny white rotary phone gabriel just awkwardly watched her dial the number by spinning the front circle wondering why she still had it. The second the phone dialled it was answered as murial had just been sitting there waiting for a call for thousands of years.
After some mumbled conversation over the phone Murial arrived in michael's office with the other two. “Hi gabriel! So you wanted me to do something?” she exclaimed with delight, it was obvious that she was desperate to do anything worthwhile after so many years of waiting.
Gabrial looked up sharply as if he wasn’t expecting her appearance “Aha! Murial you're here!”He spoke as if he had to convince Murial to take the job he was offering. “I have a very important job for you!” he rocked forwards onto the balls of his feet leaning towards her.
Murials face lit up at the word, “inst that great! I havn’t goten a jod in centuries, i don’t exactly know why I think it just wasn’t going though, slow internet or something” she was absolutely blind to her own ignorance.
“Murial, your job is todesine a new animal of your very own to go down on the earth with all the other animals.” he leant down wile he said this so that his face was closer to hers but she didn’t notice this or the fact that he spoke slower than usual like if she was a child.
A smile spread across Murals face as she slowly processed the information “thank you so much! I can get to work on it right now!” with each sentence her voice got higher in pitch “They will be the best animals ever they will be so cute you will love them!” After this, anything thing she said just sounded liek high pitched squeals of excitement.
Murial rushed off to her office to get to work still teeming with excitement.
“Shes actually running to get to work?” michal stated uder her breath mostly just to herself as she was genuinely confused by this.
“I didn't give her even half of the istuctions, oh well im sure she can figure it out on her own.” gabriel responded strchin ghis neck to see her still running down the hall way even put of their sight.
When Muriel arrived in her room she sat down at her desk to start brainstorming ideas for her new animal.
“ok if this is going to be the cutest creature ever then i just need to make it look like what humans already find cute.”
Muriel pulled out a folder full of pictures of animals she keeps on her desk for whenv shes got nothing to do.
“Humans really like this small wolf, huh.”

“And most people have these shiny water insect looking thing.”
Looking at gold fish
“Well this is easy then i can simply combine the two of them and humans will simply love the animal for ever and ever!” she yelled out to herself
“I'm so smart” she complemented herself because there was never others around to do it clearly not knowing why.
Muriel then pulled out a large sheet of paper and began drawing the creature
“It's beautiful. I'm a great draw-er.”she cpcked her head to the side and squinted “I suppose it's a little lopsided, and more squished then I meant for it to be but that just makes it even cuter!!!!”
“Now just for a quick miracle to make into a sort-of-real-prototype-thing to show to Gabriel and Michael before it goes all the way down to earth!” she Waves hands about doing a miracle bridging it to life. “ IT'S SO CUTE!!!! I'm going to call you a blobfish because your so round and blobby.”
Muriel rushed up to gabriel and michal still sitting in michals office like they were when inistaly assigning murial the task. “HEY GUYS!” Murial yelled as she stepped into the room holding the blobfish.
“Murial be a bit quieter there is no need to yell in here. Its just so echoy every where.
“Yeah, yeah, sorry, but i finished the animal i told you i was going to make”
“well lets see it then.'' Gabriel said, expecting to be disappointed by whatever Murial had made for him.
Murial drops the blobfish onto the table making a splat sound as it hit the marble “here it is! it's a combination of a pug and a fish!! Don't you think its sooooo cute”
Gabriel looked at the creation uncomfortably and confused “umm… yeah it's so cute.” he lied before realising“You said its part fish right, so it can go underwater?” this was said in a much more excited tone hoping that he would never have to see the monstrosity again.
“well I guess it can swim but its meant to be a house pet. how would the humans see it if it's underwater?”
“Don't worry murial, i'm sure they’ll find it someday. HUman are supposed to be great explorers” Gabriel assured her hoping she would just let them hide it in the sea already, and plastering a fake smile over his face.
Michal spoke slowly when addressing murial as if she was a child “We will deliver it now, so you can go back to your office Mural” michal was practically bedding down to say this and anyone else would have been offended my the tone but muriel seemed not to notice a thing as she left with the usual bounce in her step exaggerated more then usual.
“No wonder she is in the 38th class, hell will freeze over before humans actually like that thing '' Michal snarded looking at the animal splattered on her desk as soon as murial appeared to be out of ear shot.
“Well we better go drop this in the ocean now.” Gabriel responded in a flat tone just trying to get his work done without starting more drama “VERY deep in the ocean”
Gabrial sat down in a quiet Cafe in London waiting for azirafell to arrive for their meeting every decade. The bell hanging over the door softly rang as azirafell made his way to sit in the next chair over.
"So!" gabriel sighed, he didn’t want to be on earth as he considered it dirty and gross, it wasn’t as bad as hell but it was still part heaven and part hell. “Azrafell, has anything big happened on earth? Gods looking for reveiws on animals, whats popular right now?”
Azirafell new exactly what to suggest as he had seen people booking for books talking about a kind of fish allthought he didn’t recognise the species by name. “I have heard about the blob fish recently, are you familiar?”
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, completely flabbergasted, the blobshish was meant to terrify humans? “The blobfish? Small. Squashed creature? Pink. slimy. Lives at the bottom of the sea?” He listed the most memorable feature expecting azifafel to tel hime it was another animal.
Azirafell nodded “Thats the one, you know it?”
“Yeah i do.” he responded and mutter under his breath “Michal will find this so funny,” as he left the cafe to return to heaven.
Gabriel arrived In heaven with a smile on his face, and in a sing-song voice similar to crowly’s “OH MIKACHAL! Guess what just happened! MURIAL get over here!”
Michal looked up from her book clearly disrupted by gabriel's sudden arrival “What for heaven's sake do you want now,”
Murial ran up to them, happy to finally have something to do “Hi gabriel do you have another job for me yet?”
Gabriel ignored murials request as he was used to blocking out murial annoying, winey, childish voice, “I’m promoting murial for the great succes in her animal design project!”
Michal appeared almost angry at Gabriel and murial for an even slight succes on murials part “The blob fish actually was a succes?!?”
“Yes its a favorit of many humans (according to azirafel) so murial is being promoted to 37th rank. Theres still a few ranks until anyone else but this is an improvement.” Gabriel Was even surprised by himself for promoting murial for the first time.
