Chapter Text
As he entered the office on the top floor he firstly looked to the left, by the windows there sat a girl drawing like usual. He walked towards her direction first to observe what was she drawing this time, it could provide him some clues, whatever they might be. He saw a dog and a hat, from that alone he could conclude what the converstation is gonna be about, however even if he knew he couldn't change a thing now that it has come to this. He turned to the desk and noticed that Mori has already set aside his paperwork and was now watching him, he started walking towards the desk, when he was motioned to stop, he stopped.
"I heard some interesting things, Dazai. For example, did you know, that there is someone who is planning to betray the mafia?" He stayed silent for a while, perhaps wishing for Mori to just drop these word games and say it straight to his face, but after the realization that Mori is actualy waiting for his answer he only nodded his head.
"Aiding a traitor right under my nose, you have gotten quite brave, Dazai" Despite saying that he was still smiling, not wanting to deal with Mori more than needed he crossed his arms and asked him straight away. "Alriiiight, so what is my punishment this time?"
Mori shook his head. "You just want to receive a punishment and be done with it?" Mori smiled at him again as if encouraging a small child to say something to him. "What are you implying?" Mori smiled before motioning towards Elise that was also paying attention now, Dazai turned to look behind. "My dear Elise there gave me a suggestion that I let you choose." When Dazai turned back to him Mori continued. "Give you a mission to sabotage Chuuya's escape plans or.." he trailed of as he grabbed a paper and turned his back to Dazai. "Allow Chuuya to leave, but you know, that would wouldn't be so easy."
While he inspected the paper in complete silence Dazai felt completely tense, after Mori turned back to him and smiled, he knew what his next words would be. "An equel exchange, offer me something for Chuuya's freedom, you will be receiving the punishment either way for aiding a traitor, think about it for today and give me the answer tomorrow, I'm not really in a rush." He placed down the paper and grabbed another one to inspect what is written on it.
"You are dissmissed, leave now." Dazai turned around and left with no objections, he needed some alone time anyways, so he went back to his living place to think about the offer Mori made.

For the rest of the day he did nothing expect sit, breathe and think, what could he offer for Chuuya's free life away from all the mafia stuff. After it got dark he left his living place and went to walk around the streets, perhaps hoping to see a familiar face, but he had no such luck now. After a quick walk at a usual desolate place he went back.

"So did you think about it?" He asked while standing up and looking at the windows. "Yes, Chuuya will be leaving the mafia."
"Alright, if that is what you have chosen." he turned to Dazai and started walking towards the door that firmly stood behind him, before he noticed his back was against the door while Mori stood side by side to him, he cast him a quick glance and murmered something before leaving. But what Mori said before leaving was important and Dazai heard him clearly, 'meet me at the torture chamber tomorrow' he said.
As he also left Mori's office he knew that he had to somehow get Chuuya out of here today, otherwise it might be too late, well since Chuuya was planning on leaving anyways he must have already packed his belongings, right? Well either way, he has some things to do now.

He sat on the chair and observed the person who just entered, he really tried to look cool, but all the ginger did was scoff upon seeing him! No matter, he stood up and walked towards chuuya, he had some things to say, but he had to make sure his voice won't be picked up by a recorder Mori must have sent someone to plant just yesterday.
"Leave tonight, take your important belongings and get out of Yokohama for two years, lay low for a while and don't worry I will take care of Mori for you" Chuuya looked dumbfounded for a moment before scoffing and backing away to not be so close to him, "You are saying me to betray the mafia now, do you think I'm so stupid that I don't even know what will happen if I leave?"
Dazai shook his head before invading the ginger's personal space again and whispering, "It will be fine, I already prepared something to distract Mori tonight, as for after you leave, don't worry I will cover your traces." Chuuya started to scan his face to see if he was for real, when he noticed it was real Chuuya frowned a bit. Dazai backed away from chuuya before speaking out louder, "We both are really tired of eachother, I think it's perfect time for you to finally leave so I can find some peace from a certain barking dog!"
"Oi, watch your mouth, I am not a dog." He turned around walking towards the place where he just came from, "I guess you noticed how I was preparing to leave.." He stopped at the entrance for a moment before whispering a thank you, Dazai almost missed it, but even if he heard it there was nothing to say.
When Chuuya left he walked towards the chair and sat down, now he had all night to himself, so he might as well do some thinking, imagine how grateful Chuuya will be that he just might agree to be his dog for real.

As Dazai walked towards the directin of torture chamber he walked past quite a few people who showed a fearful expression when they saw him, but why would he care now abut what people think?
Mori smiled in his direction before turning towards the table to look at his tools since he is trying to act cool, "I won't lie, I was a bit suprised to learn that you have decided to crash three of our airplanes yesterday, might I assume it is becouse you wanted Chuuya to leave yesterday?" Dazai nodded and snickered to himself, well atleast he did some thing he wanted to try out yesterday.
"Alright, I will ignore this offense" He grabbed something that caught his eyes and turned back to Dazai, "Now go sit down, I won't be too harsh"
