It's Mind Control, I Swear

Summary:

Chad's big sibling has been spotted hanging out with the S Tier, is this really the extent of Morgan's villainy or is something sinister afoot and why can't Chad read Morgan's mind anymore?

Notes:

I had this big plan to post a bunch of fanfics in one day as like a thank you to Lighthouse for organizing the playlists, but then I lost my mojo
It's back now though!
I'm posting this and maybe another today, and a couple more throughout the week, so keep an eye out

Chapter 1: S Tier's Pet

Chapter Text

“Ah, Chadster, there you are, I’ve been looking for you.”
“Captain Textile, good to see you,” Chad said as he broke from the hero pose he had been practicing for the past two hours. “What seems to be the problem?”
Captain Textile fiddled with some bits of yarn hanging from his suit. “It’s about your sib, Morgan.”
Chad clammed up. “Morgan? Who’s Morgan?”
“Chad, I-”
“Who is this Chad you speak of? I’ve never heard of anyone named Chad? I never even heard the name Chad before. A strange name, isn’t it? Chad. Chad…”
Captain Textile sighed to himself. He pinched the bridge of his denim mask. This was a tiring song and dance Chad made the heroes do. As if they didn’t know Chad’s secret identity. It wasn’t even secret. The Sterling family was quite literally the most famous superhero family there was.
“Look Chadster, I have news about Generator,” C. T. said. “They’re your sib- I mean sidekick, right?”
“They were,” Chad said mournfully. “Until they turned to a life of crime.”
“Well I,” C.T. tried his best to find the right words, but he couldn’t find a delicate way to say it. “I’ve heard some intel about their whereabouts.”
Chad was quiet for a moment, unsure how to respond. He began to pace, not meeting Captain Textile’s eyes.
“Yeah, well, they’ve made their choice. If they wanted me to know where they were, they would’ve reached out.
“Chadster,” C.T.’s voice was as soft as his cashmere cape, with more than a hint of fear and sorrow tangled in. “They’ve been spotted hanging around the S Tier.”
“S Tier?” Chad froze up. He felt as if fear itself had become personified and grabbed ahold of his neck, slowly choking him as the cold from its touch spread through his body.
“I’m sorry.”
“S Tier, they- their pets don’t live long.”
“I know you disowned them after what happened, but I thou-”
Chad walked right past C.T., ignoring him. He paused only a moment at the door. “Generator may be a villain now, but they are still my big si- I mean my sidekick. I have to save them.”
“I’ll help,” C.T. said, catching up with Chad.
Chad put up his hand. “No, not yet. I need to get intel first. We can’t go against S Tier without knowing the full scope of this.”
C.T. nodded in agreement. “Just say the word and the entirety of the Fairness Association will be right behind you.”
“Thanks Captain Textile.”
Chad rushed out the door, his heart and mind racing as he did. He was still angry at Morgan for abandoning him and for choosing villainy, but they were still Chad’s big sib, and the thought of something bad happening to them-
No, Chad had to push such thoughts away. Morgan was going to be fine, Chad would make sure of it, even if it meant going toe to toe with the most powerful being to ever exist.
No one messed with the Sterling family. No one.
