Work Text:
The hood closes, pressed shut by grease and sweat covered hands. A breath passes with the back of a hand running across a forehead, then, a proud smile, and a hand on either hip.
“Proud of yourself, much?” The second man bends into view, sass and sarcasm lining his every move. “After you ruined the car, why wouldn’t I be?” Kaveh turns, hair bouncing with every exaggerated move, and he hums, looks the driver up and down. “When you have practice today, try not to ruin my work,” The other man smiles, eyes tracing Kaveh’s expression. “I want to see this baby unscathed at least once, Haitham.”
“Hm, I sure hope you know I can’t make any of those promises,” Alhaitham takes his hand, humming at the bruised knuckles and greased fingertips. “Besides, I thought you liked fixing my car.”
“You mean liked seeing you?” Kaveh sighs, moving his arms to cross over his chest as he cocks his hip. “You don’t need a broken car to come see me, Alhaitham.” At first, its hesitant, then its a quick move. Kaveh holds Alhaitham’s left cheek and kisses his right. Alhaitham leans into it, only humming when Kaveh steps back.
“Take your car for test drive, I’ll be with a headset so you can tell me anything that needs adjusting.” Kaveh steps further into the garage, moving towards the numerous computers, he grabs a headset after cleaning his hands and slides it on, then, glances back at Alhaitham over his shoulder. “What are you waiting for?”
“Possibly another kiss.” Alhaitham crosses his arms, Kaveh rolls his eyes, a hand on either hip as he walks over. “No chance,” Kaveh shakes his head, a warm chuckle running past his lips as he leans forward into Alhaitham’s personal space. “Get out there and practice so we can go home, you sweet, stupid man.”
“How am I stupid?”
“I’m not answering that until you’ve done two full laps.” Kaveh raises his hand, two fingers in front of Alhaitham’s eyes before he points to the car at his left. “Tighnari said we didn’t have to be here all day, but he said you needed to do practice before we left.” He pokes Alhaitham’s chest, then moves back to the computers in the garage. “I love you but please go practice, you’re driving me mad looking at me like that.”
“Looking at you like what?” Alhaitham moves closer, removing the headset from over Kaveh’s ears before kissing just behind Kaveh’s ear. Kaveh sighs. “Looking at me like I just gave you everything you’ve ever needed.” There’s silence, then Kaveh turns, arms moving around Alhaitham’s neck. “What made you think that?” Alhaitham hums, pulling himself closer and wrapping two arms around Kaveh’s waist.
“I know that look, Alhaitham.”
“The look of being in love?” Kaveh looks off. “Do you not want me to love you?” It’s a tease, and despite his words, kisses are placed all over Kaveh’s face until a chuckle falls from his lips and he’s pushing Alhaitham away. “Haitham!” There’s a smile, a smile that makes Alhaitham love Kaveh even more, a smile that makes Alhaitham want him to kiss him until he can’t breathe.
A kiss is planted on Kaveh’s forehead, both cheeks and the tip of his nose. Kaveh hums, it’s a sound of approval and satisfaction all in one. Kaveh kisses Alhaitham’s lips and pulls away, holds his hand and pulls him towards the exit. “Let’s head home—you aren’t going to practice anytime soon and I’m hungry.”
“Aren’t you always?”
“I take back my kisses.” A gasp is heard from behind Kaveh, then, two arms wrap around him. “—Alhaitham!” It’s full of laughter and happiness and the small sense of annoyance, but nothing that makes Alhaitham drop Kaveh. “Don’t you dare.”
“Put me down!” Two feet are placed on the floor, Kaveh turns and crosses his arms. “You’re such a dork!—Let’s go home already.” He’s once again pulled towards the exit, chuckling at Kaveh’s neediness to get home to the cupboard full of snacks awaiting him. “Whatever you say, Kaveh.” A kiss falls to his head and the garage door is shut.
