Work Text:
Yuma and Taki, members of &team, had just returned from a delightful date. The campus dorms were unusually quiet, and the only light illuminating the hallway came from the moon outside. They giggled softly as they approached their dorm room, fingers intertwined.
"Tonight was amazing," Taki whispered, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Yuma chuckled, "You're not too bad yourself. I didn't think mini-golf could be so much fun."
As they reached their dorm door, they realized the lights inside were out. Yuma fumbled with the key, trying to unlock the door silently. Taki couldn't help but tease him.
"You know, you're not as stealthy as you think," Taki teased, a playful smirk on his face.
Yuma shot him a look, "Oh please, like you're a ninja or something."
The banter continued as they entered the dark room. Completely unaware, they didn't notice the faint glow of eyes watching them from the living room. The other members of &team were gathered there, waiting for their return.
Inside, Yuma and Taki were lost in their own little world. They stumbled over each other's words, recounting the highlights of their evening. Laughter echoed in the dark room as they playfully teased and flirted.
Little did they know, K, their team leader, was quietly observing them. He exchanged knowing glances with the others, a mischievous grin forming on his face. K decided it was time to shed some light on the situation – both literally and figuratively.
With a dramatic flair, K switched on the lights, flooding the room with brightness. Yuma and Taki blinked, momentarily blinded by the sudden illumination.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" K's voice cut through the room, and the rest of &team burst into laughter.
Yuma and Taki squinted against the light, realizing they were not alone. The other team members were sprawled across the living room, each wearing a teasing smile.
K, standing with arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "Seems like my two children had a lovely date tonight. Care to share the details?"
Yuma blushed furiously, and Taki stammered for words. The rest of &team erupted in laughter, thoroughly enjoying the awkwardness of the situation.
"Come on, spill the beans!" K urged, a playful twinkle in his eyes. "We're all ears."
Yuma and Taki exchanged hesitant glances, their embarrassment evident. "Oh, you know, we just went out to hang out as friends," Yuma stammered, attempting to downplay the nature of their evening.
The room fell into a momentary silence, broken only by the stifled laughter of the other team members. K, with an incredulous expression, arched an eyebrow. "Friends, huh? That's quite the friendly atmosphere you two have going on."
EJ, another member of &team, couldn't hold back a chuckle. "Friends who gaze into each other's eyes like that? I must be doing friendship wrong."
Taki scratched his head nervously, attempting to salvage their story. "Well, you know, we were just... appreciating the moon. It was really bright tonight."
K smirked, clearly unconvinced. "Appreciating the moon, you say? I've never seen anyone appreciate the moon with such intensity."
The rest of the team burst into laughter again, leaving Yuma and Taki flustered. K, always one to enjoy teasing his teammates, leaned in with a theatrical sigh. "I must say, I never thought I'd be a matchmaker for my team, but here we are."
EJ playfully elbowed K, adding fuel to the fire. "Looks like we have our very own lovebirds in the making. When's the wedding, you two?"
Yuma and Taki, now thoroughly mortified, tried to defend themselves amidst the laughter. "Guys, seriously, it was just a friendly hangout. Nothing more," Taki insisted.
But K, unfazed, continued his teasing. "Friendly hangout with heart-eyed emojis, I presume?"
With that comment Taki and Yuma, flushed red, quickly came up with their excuses to scurry out of there and into their own rooms to, in their words "get ready for tomorrow"
---
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the dorm room window, gently waking up the sleeping members of &team. As the others slowly stirred, they couldn't help but notice an unexpected sight. Yuma was nestled comfortably in Taki's bed, and to everyone's surprise, Taki had his arm draped around Yuma.
Harua and Jo exchanged amused glances, signaling to the rest of the team that they were in for another round of teasing. Maki and Nicholas, ever the opportunists, grabbed their cameras, ready to capture the moment for future blackmail material.
K, with a mischievous grin, gestured for everyone to gather silently. They observed the scene with raised eyebrows and playful smirks.
"Just friends, right?" K whispered sarcastically, earning a soft giggle from EJ.
Yuma shifted slightly in his sleep, prompting Taki to tighten his hold unconsciously. The room erupted into stifled laughter as the team witnessed the adorable sight. Maki and Nicholas seized the opportunity, snapping photos in quick succession.
As the cameras clicked, Yuma's eyes fluttered open, and he was greeted by a room full of grinning teammates. Panic flashed across his face, realizing the compromising position he was in.
"Taki!" Yuma whispered urgently, nudging his still-sleeping companion.
Taki, still blissfully unaware of the audience, mumbled in his sleep. "Not now, Yumi... I still wanna hug you. You're my bear."
Yuma blushed furiously, desperately trying to stifle his embarrassment. But the rest of &team couldn't contain their laughter, especially when they heard Taki's sleep-talk confession.
Harua couldn't help but comment, "Well, that's a creative way to address your 'friend,' Taki."
Yuma gently shook Taki awake, and as Taki's eyes widened in realization, he quickly pulled away from the embrace. The room fell into an awkward silence, broken by Maki and Nicholas, who couldn't hold back their laughter any longer.
"Guys, it's not what you think," Taki began, attempting to salvage the situation.
But K, ever the instigator, raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? Because I'm pretty sure we just witnessed a romantic sleep-talking moment. 'You're my bear,' huh?"
Yuma and Taki exchanged glances, their attempts at denial falling apart. Harua, Jo, and the rest of &team burst into laughter, accepting the undeniable truth.
"You two can stop pretending now. It's cute, really," Jo chuckled.
And so, the facade of Yuma and Taki's "just friends" charade crumbled, leaving the team with a newfound understanding and acceptance of the blossoming romance in their midst. As for Maki and Nicholas, they now possessed a treasure trove of photos for future amusement and potential blackmail. Love had found its way into &team, whether Yuma and Taki were ready to admit it or not.
