Shotaro felt like crap. His body was aching all over and his stomach sloshed uncomfortably. Groaning, he shuffled into the kitchen to make some tea.
Sungchan and Eunsoek were in the middle of making lunch for the group when a pale and rumpled Shotaro shuffled into the kitchen. “Taro, are you okay?” Sungchan asked, peering at Shotaro in concern.
“Yeah hyung you don’t look too great,” Eunseok agreed.
“I don’t feel good,” Shotaro whined.
“Poor thing come here I’ll take care of you,” Sungchan assured, ushering Shotaro out of the kitchen and into the living room.
Shotaro lets Sungchan guide him to the couch and pushes him to lie down on the couch. “I'll be right back with some water,” Sungchan said, turning to walk away.
Shotaro nodded, waiting for Sungchan to return. A moment later Sungchan walked back with a cup of water, handing it to Shotaro. Taking a sip Shotaro placed water down on the coffee table, then turned to Sungchan and made grabby hands. “Yes?” Sungchan asked, quivering his eyebrow.
“Sit with me,” Shotaro demanded.
“Only for a little,” Sungchan agreed, sitting next to Shotaro on the couch.
Shotaro nodded, cuddling into Sungchan’s side.
“Lunchtime,” Eunseok called, getting the couple’s attention.
“Do you want to eat anything?” Sungchan asked, looking down at Shotaro.
“Yeah, I’ll have a little,” Shotaro said, pushing himself up off the couch.
Shotaro ate a couple of spoonfuls of the stew before excusing himself saying he was full. Shotaro walked back to his room lying down on his bed.
A couple of minutes later Sungchan walked into their room. “How are you feeling?” Sungchan asked, walking over to Shotaro’s side.
“Bad,” Shotaro pouted.
“Is there anything that I can do?” Sungchan asked, pushing Shotaro’s hair out of his face,
“Lay with me?” Shotaro asked hopefully.
Sungchan smiled lying down next to Shotaro.
The couple lay next to each other in a comfortable silence until Shotaro felt his stomach churning uncomfortably. Shotaro forced himself to sit up trying to throw the blankets off when he bumped into Sungchan. Sungchan stared at Shotaro in confusion as he began to struggle with the blankets. Wanting help Sungchan shifted to see what was up.
Shotaro tried to warn Sungchan and tell him to move but it was too late. Shotaro opened his mouth and vomited all over Sungchan’s lap. Both of them froze for a moment before Shotaro felt bile rise in his throat a second time before he could stop himself.
After being thrown up on a second time Sungchan snapped into action. Sungchan stood up hurriedly pulling his vomit-covered pants and shirt off, bundling them in a ball to be washed later. Next, he turned back to the bed where Shotaro was sitting there in shock. Sungchan gently reached out, pulling Shotaro to stand up.
Feeling Sungchan pull him to stand up, Shotaro burst into tears watching as Sungchan quickly stripped the sheets. “Hey it’s okay it’s okay” Sungchan tried to comfort Shotaro.
“I'm sorry,” Shotaro sobbed, reaching out to cling on to Sungchan’s arm.
“You're sick and it was an accident. It’s okay. Let’s go take a bath,” Sungchan said, trying not to make a face at the vomit.
Sungchan grabbed a change of clothes for both of them, before gently taking Shotaro’s hand in his and leading the still-crying Shotaro to the bathroom. Sungchan turned on the bath faucet then Sungchan stripped out of the last of his clothes before helping Shotaro to undress.
After taking a short bath Sungchan brought Shotaro to lie on the couch going to remake their bed. While he was remaking their bed a text from their manager came in saying ‘Sorry for the last-minute notice but I need Sungchan, Sohee, Seunghan, and Eunseok to come to the company building’ Groaning Sungchan went back out to check on Shotaro in the living room “Hey our manager said that some of us need to go to the company. You don’t but I do if you want I can text Wonbin to come watch you,” Sungchan apologetically explained.
“I’ll be fine, don't worry,” Shotaro weakly assured.
“Okay Let me know if anything happens,” Sungchan said, hovering by Shotaro’s side.
“I will,” Shotaro promised, noticing Sungchan hovering when he needed to leave.
Watching Sungchan pack up and leave the dorm Shotaro felt horrible. He felt physically awful due to his illness and mentally horrible because he felt guilty about puking on Sungchan. Deciding that he didn’t want to inconvenience the others, Shotaro made up his mind to keep his illness to himself.
Sungchan and Seunghan didn’t come back from the company building until late at night where both immediately headed to their rooms. Sungchan pushed the door open, peering in and spotting Shotaro lying in their bed. Not wanting to wake up Shotaro Sungchan quietly changed into his pajamas slipping into bed next to Shotaro
The next morning Shotaro woke up before Sungchan and felt infinitely worse than he had the day before. For a moment he thought about waking Sungchan up and having him take care of him but then he thought about yesterday and immediately shook the thought from his head. Shotaro forced himself up and out of bed. He groggily shuffled to the bathroom stripped down and stepped into the shower hoping it would help him feel better.
Unfortunately, the shower did little to help with Shotaro’s illness leaving him feeling uncomfortable and feverish. Luckily he should have the dorm to himself all day since they had the day off and the others were supposed to be visiting home. Not wanting to disturb Sungchan’s sleep or risk him noticing the fever, Shotaro went to lie in the living room.
Shotaro flipped on the TV and let himself fall into a daze. Briefly looking up to say goodbye to Seunghan when he left to visit his parents. “Hey,” Sungchan called, startling Shotaro out of his daze
“Huh,” Shotaro mumbled, blinking up at Sungchan.
“How are you feeling?’ Sungchan asked concerned.
“I feel fine,” Shotaro lied, sending Sungchan a forced smile.
“Are you sure?” Sungchan pressed, not fully believing Shotaro.
“Yeah, what time are you leaving?” Shotaro asked, changing the subject,
“Oh, I wasn’t going to go home,” Sungchan responded.
“Why not?” Shotaro asked.
“I don’t want to leave you alone while you are sick,” Sungchan answered.
“Sungchan I feel fine now. Really you should go visit,” Shotaro insisted, feeling guilty about yesterday and not wanting Sungchan to miss out on family time.
“Are you really sure?” Sungchan pressed, unsure about leaving Shotaro alone.
“Yes, I’m sure,” Shotaro reiterated.
After another moment of consideration, Sungchan relented and headed out to visit home.
Watching Sungchan leave Shotaro let out a sigh of relief, glad that he was able to convince Sungchan to leave.
Three hours later Shotaro still felt dreadful. He tried sleeping, drinking water, eating, and taking medicine but none of it worked, only leading to Shotaro vomiting again. After puking a fourth time Shotaro moved away from the toilet weakly crawling into the hallway. Halfway back to his bedroom, Shotaro felt himself give up and lie down on the floor
Sungchan felt like something was off all day. While Shotaro had insisted he was fine and that Sungchan should visit home he just couldn’t shake the feeling that something was still wrong. After finishing up lunch with his parents Sungchan decided he needed to head back and check on Shotaro. Either Shotaro would still be sick and Sungchan would take care of him or Shotaro would be fine and they could game together.
Sungchan arrived back at the dorm calling out as he walked into their dorm. Not hearing a response Sungchan became concerned, making his way around. “Oh my God!” Sungchan shouted when he spotted Shotaro lying on the floor.
Sungchan rushed forward kneeling down next to Shotaro. Shotaro groaned weakly, his eyes fluttering open. “What happened?” Sungchan questioned, placing a hand on his forehead to check for a fever.
“Don’t feel good,” Shotaro whined.
“C’mon hyung let's get you to bed,” Sungchan said.
“Mhm,” Shotaro mumbled.
Sungchan picked Shotaro up princess style carrying him back to bed. Pulling back the cover, Sungchan gently laid Shotaro down. “I’ll be right back,” Sungchan said, rushing out of the room.
Sungchan ran to the kitchen putting on a kettle of water to boil and grabbing some fever meds. Taking a cup of water Sungchan brought it back to Shotaro. “Here take this. I’m making some tea for you as well,” Sungchan said, handing Shotaro the pills.
Shotaro gratefully took the meds, settling back into the pillows. “Why didn’t you call me?” Sungchan demanded, frustrated that Shotaro hadn’t told him he was sick.
Shotaro just weakly groaned rolling on his side. Realizing there was no point in pressing, Sungchan sighed saying, “Never mind. Just focus on getting better. I’ll take care of you,” Sungchan assured.
