Chapter Text

Ever since the nasty burger explosion, Danny felt like Valerie was always acting strange. He couldn't tell anymore; everything seemed strange. Ever since the accident, everything has been in black and white, basically. It's like he just broke his core; he's pretty sure it shattered along with Amity's heart in the explosion. But that's not his point, is it? Val's always been a bit possessive since they started dating in sophomore year—the constant calls during attacks, the endless need to get rid of any ghost she saw so she could keep me safe, the way she pushed everyone and anyone except Sam and Tuck away—she almost crippled Dash the last time he slammed me into a locker. I had to use my enhanced strength to hold her back each time; she was like a feral beast, but when the nasty burger explosion happened, she went wild. Her dad ended up being in the building after he went for a late brunch with a few work friends.

When they told me I'd have to go live with my birth father in Gotham, she was less than pleased; she insisted on going, and, well, I didn't really have the will to hold her back anymore. The airplane ride was nice; Val let me have the window seat, and we held hands the whole way there. Recently, I have been worried about ghosts attacking, not because of my safety but because of theirs. Val wasn't the most stable right now, and I didn't want her to be stressed out anymore, so as Prince, I sent out a notice that finding me was off-limits until further notice. Val carried all my bags and hers, and when I tried to grab some, she stopped me. She already knows I was phantom; why can't she just let me help?

Sooner than later, we saw an old man in a fancy suit holding up a sign that said '*Daniel Fenton & Valerie Gray*' The words were in fancy cursive. When we approached the man, he kindly took our bags and helped us inside the car, stating his name was 'Alfred Pennyworth' He seemed nice; I hoped he wasn't evil.
