The Revived Cult Leader

Summary:

So it turns out the God of Death is the literal worst person to let run a cult. And he realizes that on the edge of the cult's ruin. So he does the only thing he can think of that will reverse it, bring the old leader back.

Notes:

So I'm new to actually writing here, so please tell me if I miss any tags. I'm not sure where this is going quite yet so not sure what tags I'll need.

So woolhaven... that's definitely throwing a wrench in things.

Chapter 1: Bringing Back the Lamb

Summary:

Narinder needs help. His cult has been going downhill fast. But of course he can't run a cult, he's the God of Death.

Notes:

This chapter is short because I'm testing waters and figuring stuff out.

There is swearing. If you don't like that, turn back. There's also light mentions of death, murder and sickness, but those should stay light.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

"Aym are you sure a mission would be the best way to get a follower?" Narinder asked, as one of his bodyguards got a pack ready.

"It's got a better shot than trying to reason with the dissenters" Aym said, looking at the prisons... 5 dissenters, "and its not like Bluebell can help much, we have no camilla and she's too weak to go on missions."

"You do have a point" Narinder sighed, being without one of his bodyguards will be odd.

-The next day-

Narinder looked at Aym. "So you didn't die or get injured on the mission, but what exactly is that?" Narinder asked Aym, pointing at the strange skull with legs sitting on his backpack.

"It wouldn't break when I hit it so I figured it was special," Aym said, picking up the skull, "I was thinking of putting it by the graveyard."

"Go put it by the graveyard then and hurry back. Can't have those dissenters try to turn the new guy against us" Narinder said, kinda rushing over to the indoctrination circle.

The follower was a bit basic. It looked like Bluebell but white with black stripes. It was so traumatized by something that happened in Anura that it didn't even remember its own name. "Well since you cant remember your name, I'll call you snow" Narinder said handing the little guy a loyalty necklace. At least it was willing to help with the ritual after the big scary cat with one red eye helped it.

As Narinder was handing the little tiger a outfit, he heard Aym open the gate to the graveyard. They really need to oil those hinges.

"Fuck" Narinder heard in the distance. Did Aym fall or something? Not much he can do to help, he's gotta get this cat to the temple before a dissenter starts spouting lies at him.

Then he hears Baal go "Watch your language, brother" of course Baal is gonna mess with Aym over that. Baal has always been a bit of a bully when Aym swears.

Then Narinder heard screaming. Why was Aym screaming? As he rushed over and looked over the graveyard wall, he saw Aym with a spider looking follower. He didn't remember that follower. The more the merrier he guessed.

"I'm Webber" the spider said, basically introducing itself "And I assume you're basically the leader here." Narinder looked confused, so this spider named Webber just appeared and seems pretty brave. Before Narinder could say anything, Webber added "since one of your followers summoned me, how can I be of assistance?"

"I need you to head to our temple, I need to do something important and need as many people as I can get" Narinder said, motioning Webber and Aym to follow him to the temple.

Setup for the ritual was already mostly finished, Narinder had prepared while Aym was out looking for a follower. Instead he somehow brought 2. The Lamb will know how to fix this. And unlike himself, Lamb won't cause all food to immediately decay into uselessness.

The other 4 got into place. Narinder stood at the Altar for a moment, saying something only Aym and Baal could understand. Suddenly, the pentagram glowed red, then the center opened up, a portal. Slowly Lamb was pulled out, but for a second Narinder didn't recognize them. Their face was a darker color, with two new horns curling under their ears.

Slowly, bubbles were pulled out of their mouth, as their red eyes opened.

"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I WAS ENJOYING BEING DEAD" Lamb practically screamed as they were placed on the ground, making all but narinder flinch back a bit. Suddenly Lamb falls to their knees, coughing a bit. They felt like they got hit by a stampede of dissenters. No wonder the followers got very upset when they revived someone.

It took a moment to regain composure enough to stand. When Lamb did, they noticed Narinder was close, when did he step off the Altar? "So, why bring me back?" Lamb asked.

"Apparently I'm the worst person to be in charge of a cult" Narinder said. He almost looked embarrassed having to say that. "So I figured why not bring back the one who made the cult such a sucess to actually fix it."

This is a WIP so tags will change, but I'm also bad at tags so uhhhhhh. I guess tell me if I mess up.
