Chapter 1: ..this is temporary right?

Chapter Text

When Eijiro was little, he remembered telling his mother that he wanted to be an Hero, to protect the people and his family. So why is he sitting in an empty studio in front of a huge canvas, easy. He punked out, his quirk just wasn't like the others, it's not cool or flashy, it just makes people scared of him. In such a world of quirks, he couldn't help but feel like another person in someone else's story. So instead of following his dreams, he became an artist, 'its easy money, I just splatter paint on a canvas' he thinks to himself.

His hair had long lost its fire red color, and he lost contact of most of his friends except mina, who he barely talks to. Running a hand through his now natural bland black hair, he leans back into the only couch in this empty studio. 'What If I became a pro hero? Would I still be sitting here' the thoughts run through his head, the daily occurrence of 'what if'. This is usually how his night ended, he'd overthink, drink away the overthinking, and fall asleep.

Even though he enjoys the somewhat peaceful life, he wishes to feel the thrill..the adrenaline like when he was a teenager, but he knows..he knows he won't feel that way again unless he gets up and does something. So with that, he gets up off the couch, and decided to paint his emotions. It was a splatter of red, then yellow, pink, purple and finally orange. He paints over all the other colors with black, until the red splatter is left all alone, painting over the red splatter all that's left is pure black on the canvas.

To the people, this will seem like a black canvas , but to him..it's the feeling of losing everyone ..and eventually yourself. He wonders if mina will still remember him, ..will she even take him seriously anymore. Would anyone even remember him? A part of him wants to reconnect, but another part wants to keep this little life, maybe it's best to stay in the shadows. 'out of everyone's way..'he thinks to himself. Eijiro puts down the paintbrush, and walks over to the kitchen, sometimes he wonders how he actually booked a place like this. Everything he needs is inside, a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, along with a nice balcony.

'Away from everyone..'he thought, he grabs his cup from the cabinet, mentally face palming himself when he realizes he is out of wine, 'Great.' he walks out the kitchen, contemplating if he should go to the store to get some wine, or stay inside and skip a step in his schedule. He decides there's no choice, he had to go shopping anyway. Putting on a jacket and some shoes, he walks out the studio, the fresh breeze like a cold blanket. The light from the convince store blinding his eyes as he walks across the street. Walking inside he heads to the back, looking for his usual wine. The familiar sight of pink hair and pink skin nearly makes him drop the bottle in his hand. It's her, it's actually mina, he hasn't seen her in years, but he knows..he knows that's her. Ducking behind one of the isles Eijiro prays she didnt see him, 'Would she laugh? Make fun? Maybe she still has contact..and will tell them everything' the what ifs are cut short.

"Kiri?"
