Megumi and Yuuji were currently trapped in a broken down elevator. How did this happen? Well, they were trying exorcize a curse. The curse was on the second story of a building, running around causing trouble.
“Megumi, Itadori, you guys take the elevator, I’ll take the stairs!” Nobara shouted to them as she ran after the curse. Megumi and Itadori agreed and entered the elevator.
As they stood next to each other in the not-so-big elevator, the lights began to flicker. Then, they lost power.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” Megumi growled as he pushed a couple of buttons, none of them having any effect on the elevator.
Yuuji sighed as he took a seat on the elevator floor, “Welp, I guess we better wait for Nobara or somebody to fix everything.”
“You’re seriously gonna get comfy like that?”
“...Am I not allowed to? I mean, the curse isn’t the worst thing in the world…and that’s coming from me; Sukuna’s vessel.”
Megumi stared at Yuuji who pulled a granola bar out of his pocket, along with a flashlight. Megumi gave in and decided to take a seat next to Yuuji, since the elevator was pretty small.
The curse didn’t seem to be causing too much havoc since there were no more loud noises coming from above. Or maybe things went really, very, horribly wrong, but they want to stay positive here.
So Megumi listened to Yuuji munch on his bar as they waited for help. Yuuji got bored after finishing his snack and decided to play with the flashlight.
“Hey, Fushiguro,” Yuuji said, “I feel like I don’t know much about you.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, we hang out a lot, but I don’t really know much about you,” Yuuji explained, “Like…no that’s a bit much.”
“What were you gonna ask?” Megumi mumbled, his curiosity getting the best of him.
“Uhm, not to be insensitive or anything,” Yuuji said slowly, “But…do you, well you obviously do, but is your dad…around?”
“Oh,” Megumi frowned, not feeling offended or anything, simply caught off guard, “Uh, it’s complicated.”
“Yeah, I get it,” Yuuji muttered, “Do you know what he looks like?”
“Mm, not really,” Megumi said, “I guess he looks like me. I remembered he had eyes like mine.”
As soon as Yuuji heard that, he had to flash his flashlight in Megumi’s face. Squinted his eyes, groaning at the blinding light. “What do your eyes look like up close?”
Megumi fluttered his eyes, adjusting to the beaming flashlight in his face. Yuuji got a clear look at Megumi’s deep green eyes. He would’ve gasped, but he thought it would make the situation a bit weirder than it already was.
“Wow,” Yuuji said in a soft tone that only Megumi would be able to hear if anybody else were around, “Your eyes are really pretty up close…”
Megumi furrowed his brow and began to feel his cheeks and ears heat up. How could Yuuji say something so nonchalantly? Only then did Megumi become very aware of how close Yuuji was to his face.
He could feel Yuuji breathing softly as he studied Megumi’s facial features. “Itadori…” Megumi whispered, feeling that the elevator was shrinking, “You’re…you’re really close to me.”
“Am I?” Yuuji asked. Just then, the elevator turned on and was moving again. The two boys got off the floor and stood next to each other in silence. The elevator made a *ding* noise and the door opened, revealing a messy-haired and out of breath Nobara.
“Well, the curse didn’t cause too much damage,” Nobara told the two boys as they stepped out of the elevator, “...Fushiguro, why are you so red?”
“I’m not.”
“You totally are,” Yuuji chuckled, letting Megumi walk away and return to his original shade.
“Well, what happened to him?”
“I guess I got too close to his face,” Yuuji sighed, “But his eyes are really pretty.”
“How close? Like, kissing proximity,” Nobara lowered her voice, “Not that you would know how close that is, since you don’t pull-”
“Shut up,” Yuuji smacked her on the shoulder, “I guess it was pretty close.”
“Would you?”
“What?”
“Kiss Fushiguro,” Nobara asked him as they began to walk, “Would you?”
“...Why not.”
And that was the truth. Yuuji didn’t care which gender he kissed or dated, as long as they were a good person and liked him, he’d kiss them. But it wasn’t like that with Megumi. Megumi isn’t just somebody you kiss for fun. Kissing Megumi would be everything for Yuuji.
And of course, Megumi felt the same way. I mean, why else would he be thinking about the elevator every single night for a week afterward? Of course, he wouldn’t tell Yuuji how he felt, he’d keep his silly feelings to himself.
