“Come back to Gusu with me”
He almost- no want to laugh but he couldn’t. There was nothing at Gusu for him, only people that despised him and wanted him dead. But he felt that twinge of guilty pleasure bubbling inside him, maybe it’s because after all these years of always seeming to follow the other, listened to the other, begged for- the roles were now switched, it wasn’t Wei Wuxian that's calling out for the other anymore.
“Leave” ‘ please’ at the tip of his tongue, he didn’t want to do anything drastic to the other man. He only heard silence then footsteps fading away with a breathed sigh that he was holding in.
As he walked back to his Demon-Slaughtering Cave, he thought back to his life leading up to now. He was but a child when his parents that he could not barely make a face of had passed, he was left alone in the streets, having to beg for food, having nowhere to sleep, the comfort of his parents that he no longer remembered. It is much scarier when you have no home and are left on the streets where drunks roam.
The streets where he developed his fear of vicious dogs, his fear of loneliness, and his fear of losing the ones he was close to and the ones he loves.
Then he met his Uncle Jiang, who had brought him to Lotus Pier which became his home. At first Jiang Cheng didn’t like him but Yanli had quickly become ‘ too attached ’ but then Jiang Cheng warmed up to him, soon Yanli was making bowls on bowls of Lotus rib soup. Madam Yu then came into the picture, an assertive woman. He had always admired her but soon found that she did not feel anything but negative of him.
Always blaming his mother, talking behind his back, she punished him relentlessly for the minimal things, she had worked him harder than the other disciples, had countless arguments revolving around him, many more he seemed to bury in his mind with no intention of bringing back the past abuse again. Even then, he still admired her, respected her, and feared her.
It was at Lotus Pier where he learned, what it was like to have the warmth of a family that is able to discipline him again, to be able to become strong and be able to serve the future of Lotus Pier .
But it had always bothered him how beautiful, caring, young Yanli had alarmingly grown up too quickly for her two adolescent brothers who she cared for more than anything. Hot-headed Jiang Cheng had grown with the mindset of not being good enough to be the Sect Leader. Both with parents who had obviously had no shame about fighting in front of their two young childrens, all because of a good for nothing orphan, uncle Jiang had picked up.
Going to Gusu was a ‘willing’ choice he had made, the truth was that he was offered by the Sect Leader if he wanted to go, he of course was about to decline. He wanted to stay at Lotus Pier , where home and comfort was, but the look from Madam Yu had made him rethink. He helplessly wanted the arguing to stop as he knew how much Jiang Cheng and Yanli were hurting and it pained him to hear and see them quarrel about him.
There he met the Young Master of the Nie Sect, Nie Huaisang. The young master from the outside looked like a timid person with no knowledge of anything but arts, nothing the least he saw through a mask. Wei Wuxian knew that the other was phenomenal at scheming, he knew how Nie-xiong had played everyone like his little game of chess, ‘ But, then again was I any better ’, so he made the decision to trust the other knowing he would be useful in the near future.
After 3 years of not seeing the young master, whom was to be betrothed to Yanli. It was safe to say he hated the other. But there was that bubbling pity for the other boy as though their problems were never the same, he pitied how it must be like to have an unfaithful disgrace of a father and a mother who never wanted to be in the relationship to begin with. Maybe if the circumstances were better they could've been friends.
Lan Zhan courtesy name Wangji, the Second young master of Lan Clan , which is also the second Jade of Lan. The man who can defeat him, someone gave him a challenge ‘ Finally, ’ he recalled that day. He had once thought of him as his soulmate ‘ Had? ’ Still thought of him as his other half but he had given him hopes of ending what they have together.
He came to know about Lan Zhan’s feelings for him but with the matters at hand, it was best if the man had forgotten all about him and led on with his life, so he wouldn’t have to keep pining for a ‘demon who has to die’.
He had trained and trained to reach and aim higher, but even then he was nothing but a servant, to which he should act as if he was someone who had everything. He only wanted the best for himself, but seemed fate had turned his ideas for nothing.
Maybe he had exaggerated things a bit, his life was not all bad days just some, mostly he had a somewhat of a good life before. He was able to get a new family that would shower him with love. The painful feelings that’s kept inside of him which indicates nothing but pain, and that something would terribly gone wrong, he had to cherish these precious moments that he has now before it’s too late.
The thought of stopping this before it gotten too far was a great idea, but it all had a point to either his death or others death to which he desperately doesn’t want anyone else suffering more because of his unlawful actions, so he kept the former as a part of the plan if anything goes wrong, his first and last choices are only his last options.
