Work Text:

Angel is being weird.

Granted. Husk thinks, polishing the same bottle for the fifth time. Angel is always weird. But something is off.

As if he summoned him, Angel walks into the hotel, heels clicking on the floor. He walks right past the bar, pointedly not making eye contact with Husk, and goes right upstairs.

Angel is being weird.

Husk hadn't done anything as far as he can recall. Nothing that would piss the spider off anyway. If anything, he'd been ten times nicer to him than usual.

So why is Angel being weird?

For the next three days, it's the same thing. Angel goes to work and comes back, never looking in Husk’s direction no matter where he is.

What the actual fuck. Husk thinks one night, starting to get less concerned and more annoyed. This is on purpose. He just can't for the life of him figure out why.

Eventually, Husk gets fed up. Angel walks into the hotel like usual but instead of just watching him leave, Husk calls out to him. "Hey! Legs!" Angel pauses mid-step, obviously trying to decide whether or not he should just make a run for it.

He chooses to stay and get it over with. "Yes, Husker?"

Husk narrows his eyes. "I'm not gonna beat around the bush, what the fuck is your problem?"

Angel looks taken aback, obviously not expecting the aggression. But Husk is very done walking on eggshells.

"What?" Angel asks, fully turning to look at Husk, all four hands on his hips.

"I said, what the fuck is your problem?" He repeats.

Angel narrows his eyes at Husk. "The fuck do you mean, my problem?"

"You've been ignoring me for the past week so I'm gonna say it one last time. What the fuck is your problem?"

Angel swallows nervously, eyes darting around the room. “Nothin’.”

“Yeah. Real convincing.” Husk says, rolling his eyes.

Angel scoffs, obviously annoyed. “Whateva. I don’t care what you think.”

Husk raises an eyebrow. “Oh really?”

“Yeah!” Angel yells, walking closer to the bar. “Despite what ya might think, I ain’t just sittin’ around every day waitin’ for you.”

“Oh Angel, you’re breaking my heart,” Husk says, a smile slowly growing on his face.

“Don’t be a dick,” Angel growls, stalking closer. “Ya aren’t the center of the universe, ok? And you certainly ain’t the center of my universe.”

“Ouch.” Husk feigns being shot in the heart. “Right where it hurts.” He resists the urge to laugh and Angel can tell.

“You know what you fuckin’ asshole?” Angel is finally at the bar, two of his hands resting on the counter. “Just fuck off. Leave me alone.”

“Is that really what you want?” Husk asks, leaning a bit closer to Angel. “Why is that?”

“Just ‘cause!” Angel says, frustrated. He leans down until he’s right in Husk’s face. "Just leave m-" Husk smirks before kissing him lightly on the forehead.

Angel immediately stops talking, his face rapidly getting redder. Husk shrugs. “Up to you, Legs. If you really want me to leave you alone, who am I to stop you?” Husk moves to turn away and is immediately stopped by Angel’s hand on his shoulder.

The same hand then pulls him closer so Angel can kiss him straight on the mouth. Husks’ eyes widen as Angel pulls away. “I don’t want you to leave me alone.” He mutters, looking at Husk.

“What do you want then?” Husk asks, his voice low.

“Another kiss?” Angel suggests and Husk wastes no time in pulling him in again.

Angel is being weird.

But Husk is okay with that.
