First Impressions

Summary:

Three adults wake up in a new world and meet Professor Laventon.

Professor Laventon chases his wayward Pokemon, and finds three people who fell out of the giant crack that had formed over Mount Coronet.

This is very heavy AU territory, where instead of a teenager from the future, Arceus yanks one adult and two others caught in the crossfire from a dying world to fix some problems in a new, different one.

Chapter 1: Lynn

Chapter Text

The first thing Lynn felt was a cold wetness running up her legs as a wave of water crashed onto her. The next thing she noticed was the wet sand she was face down in and how it covered her hands.

She tried to pull herself up, forward, and most importantly away from the offending lake or… ocean? The taste of salt lingered on her tongue, and the scent of seawater was quite distinctive. Fearing the burn of saltwater and the scratch of sand, she kept her eyes closed as she tried to wipe her face clean onto the arm of her very damp hoodie.

I t went about as well as she could have expected had she been thinking clearly.

Thankfully, her hair had stayed mostly tied up, or this would have been even worse to deal with. Stray strands covered in grit were already irritating her as they clung to the sides of her face.

Once the damp sand and shell shards gave way to their drier counterparts, she pulled herself up into a sitting position and reached for her bag.

And that’s when she realized it wasn’t there.

Panic gripped her chest as she hissed out a curse,
“Shit!” It wasn’t loud and could be concealed by the crashing of the ocean, but she winced regardless. She couldn’t be stupid while blind .

There was a giant blank in her mind as to how she got to Sandgem or… the other beach city. Last she recalled, she and Melody were flying to
find something on the other side of Mt. Coronet.

A strong force had pulled them apart and…

Here she was.

Wherever that was.

Deciding she would deal with the consequences later, she pulled her hoodie up and just wiped her face on the inner part of the garment. Once she pulled her head back through the hole properly, she immediately saw a distinct lack of Melody, and two other people on the beach a little further ahead.

She barely paid them much mind beyond noting one in white, the other in black, and that they were both blonde.

Her gaze had been drawn to a human wearing a warm purple hat and a labcoat. He was standing where the beach started to turn into grasslands.

He looked very confused.

Her earlier panic resurfaced, and th at was when she realized her bat was gone.

She glanced upwards and her quick scan of the sky showed no large birds flying overhead.

If asked, she wasn’t sure if it was the chill dampness or fear that caused her to start shaking, but she forced herself into a standing position despite it. If this turned into a fight, she had to be ready one way or another.
