Sound: About to board now
Sound pressed ‘send’ for what seemed to be the tenth time of the day and tucked his phone into his pocket with a sigh.
He had been off to Chiang Mai for the past week to complete filming for his series, leaving his two boyfriends at home for the first time since they moved in together six months ago. Por nearly sobbed when he and Win saw Sound off at the gate, made Sound pinky swear that he was going to return without a scratch, while Win threatened to skin Gun alive if anything happened to Sound.
The past 6 days went by smoothly, yet exhaustingly for Sound, but the bi-hourly picture spam of their cats Charlie, Delta and Echo never failed to lift his spirits (Por insisted on naming their newly adopted cats after the raptors in Jurassic World to “honor their deaths”). Sound would always text his boyfriends with updates on set, and they would always reply enthusiastically with a “Susu!💪🏻” tucked in lovingly somewhere.
Yet, now that he’s returning to Bangkok, his boyfriends have been ignoring his texts for the entire day.
“Sounddddd it's time to board!” gushed Gun, raising an eyebrow at Sound's phone, “They’re still not replying yet?”
”Yeah,” Sound muttered, “They haven’t even seen the texts.”
”Maybe they’re busy?” Gun shrugged, “Come on now, or P’Jack is gonna be mad.”
It’s not unknown to the Gun that Sound had a rather unhealthy tendency to overthink, but this was on a whole other level.
“No, cause, what if they got into an accident or something?” Sound muttered, glancing at his phone, desperately begging for a notification to ease his worries, “They’re both not even looking at my texts, Gun. They wouldn’t leave my messages unread for that long— they have been replying to my messages almost instantly for the past week…”
“For the hundredth time, Sound,” Gun pinched his nose bridge between his fingers, “They are fine! If anything happened to them, they would be on the news already.”
”But—“
”No ‘but’s, Sound, they’re fine!” Gun huffed, fishing his wired earphones from his pockets, “Now, I'm going to listen to music and take a nap, and you should too. When we wake up 2 hours later, we’d be in Bangkok with sunshine and rainbows, and you and your boyfriends would be on your merry way.” Gun plucked his earphones in and plopped into the plush seat.
Sound could not sleep, at all. His anxiety gnawed at him mercilessly, conjuring up all kinds of worst-case scenarios as he glared daggers at the flight tracker. Even the wide, comfy business-class seats made him claustrophobic, he just couldn't shake off the sense of unease.
Sound was almost the first to dart off the hellish flight, much to his dismay, his boyfriends had yet to reply to or see his messages. He rushed through immigration at record speed and managed to catch a taxi as he left.
The ride home was smoother than expected, it seemed like Bangkok traffic was on his side.
Sound arrived in front of his door with beads of sweat trickling down his forehead, he dug out his keys from his pockets- and a loud “SHIT”, followed by a bang rang from the apartment.
Win? Please, no no no no no no no--
Sound anxiously fumbled the keys into the keyhole, and turned the doorknob– only to see a wide-eyed Por, with Win grabbing a mischievous-looking Delta by her scruff.
“Sound!” Por gasped, “We didn't expect you to be back this early!”
Sound dropped his luggage onto the floor at the sight of chaos, “Are you guys okay?”
“Yeah,” Win replied, “I was making salad and this little gremlin;,” shooting a glare at Delta, “decided that it was a perfect time to swipe a plate off the floor. Thank God it was plastic though.”
Sound stared at the scene before him, as Delta let out a seemingly innocent “Mew!”, and Win crouched down to let her scurry off. An overwhelming sense of relief, disbelief, and exhaustion overcame him at the same time. He felt tears beginning to form in his eyes, and he stepped forward in front of the two and buried his forehead into Win's shoulder.
“Why didn't you two reply to my texts?” Sound murmured, “I was worried.”
There was a pause of silence until Por joined the other two in an embrace, “We're sorry, Sound- it was kind of a long story.”
“Charlie broke one of the potted plants this morning and got her pelt full of dirt.” Win began, stroking Sound's hair with his hand to calm his boyfriend down. “And, uh- we tried to give her a bath.”
“You what?” Sound recoiled his head in shock.
“Win tried to get her into the bathtub while I filmed it with my phone to prove to you that we could give the cats a bath but that clever girl,” Por continued, shooting a glance at the cat in question, “Clawed at my phone and I dropped it into the toilet and conveniently, Win's phone was right next to the bathtub and-”
“She kicked my phone right into the bathtub.” Win finished, “Then her claw broke and she started to bleed a lot, she should've been alright if we just waited for her claw to stop bleeding and we soaked her paw in warm water- but Por insisted on bringing her to the vet. She's okay now- but our phones are not.” nodding towards a tub of rice with their phones sitting in it.
“Wow, that's.. a lot for a day.” Sound sniffled.
“We're sorry for making you worry, Sound,” Win nuzzled into Sound's shoulder, “We should've updated you earlier.”
“And I'm sorry for overthinking things again, I should've trusted you guys more.”
“Aww, that's alright babe,” Por cooed, tiptoeing to give a Sound a sniff kiss on his cheek, “Would you like mookata?”
“Yes please,” Sound replied, “Could I get cuddles too? It's cold without you guys over at Chiang Mai.”
“You can get all the cuddles you want, love,” Win whispered, planting a kiss on Sound's forehead.
“I love you guys.”
“We love you too.”
