A lot can change in 500 years.

Well, you'll just have to find out, won't you?

Notes:

Welcome to the first "chapter!" the first four chapters were supposed to be prologues but fine -_- they're chapters now!
This fic is being written before Natlan so when that comes out, I will be changing some stuff to fit more smoothly!
I also have dyslexia so assume that there will be some spelling errors sorry T-T

Chapter Text

Lumine and Paimon looked at the land before them. It was barely recognizable as Liyue anymore. Would Zhongli even try to fix it? Or would he just let nature take its course?

Lumine sighed and picked up a shard of cor lapis off the ground. Everything was such a blur. Aether was reformed, Celestia was fought, and now this… What next? Would she get in trouble for killing Celestia? There were other beings like her out there… Maybe Celestia wasn't really dead. Maybe she was just regenerating. It wasn't unheard of. Well, there was nothing she could do about it now.
"Do you think Zhongli will fix it?" Paimon asked.
"I have no clue…" Lumine replied.

Lumine felt a gust of wind on her back and then an arm around her shoulder, and she turned to see the face of a boy that had to be around her age, but she knew he was much, much older. "Hello, Traveler!" he said with a laugh and then turned to look at the land, a slight frown forming on his face.
"Tone Deaf Bard!!" Paimon exclaimed.
"Hello, Venti," Lumine said, slightly surprised by the sudden visit.
"Liyue was damaged a lot, huh…" The dark-haired boy shook his head.
"Do you think Zhongli will try to fix it?" Paimon cut in.
"Probably not… A lot of us older Archons believe in letting nature take its course… He might try to make it more livable, though! The adepti and Qixing are looking for people who might have been caught in the crossfire of the fight." Venti explained.
Lumine nodded.
"I will meet up with Zhongli, Raiden, Nahida, Neuvillette, and Murata. We're going to have a meeting about Teyvat's future! You both are a part of its future, so you should be there! So should Aether!"
"Nice to know Paimon is finally getting her recognition," Paimon pouted, and Lumine rolled her eyes. The fairy-like being was sometimes annoying, but she was one of Lumine's closest friends.
"I don't see what I have to add to Teyvat's future… The plan was always to go onto the next world after I got my brother…"
Venti frowned, and his brow furrowed. "You should still come. We all want to hear your thoughts."
"Please, Traveler!!!" Paimon pleaded.
Lumine shook her head, "Fine, I'll come."
Venti gave Lumine a good squeeze with the arm he had draped around her shoulder. "I'll see you there then! Can't wait to see you there!"
And with a gust of wind and a peck on Lumine's cheek, which left her incredibly confused, Venti left.
"Venti!!!" Paimon shrieked.
