End-ING

Summary:

Apocalypse is a word that means "the end of the world" — or something so destructive it seems like the world has ended, like the event of a major earthquake. The apocalypse is the total destruction of the world, as prophesied in the Biblical book of Revelation.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The apocalypse was... unexpected per say.

It was something people thought would come for years, and some people suspected this was the end of the world that was in the christian bible. But the public thought that it would show up gradually, that there would be at least 100 warning signs before it came full force. That, as you probably already know, didn't happen.

One moment, everyone was normal. Children were in school, on playgrounds, at the mall, talking with friends and playing games. Adults were at clubs, parties, at work in the office, performing at concerts and having any kind of social event you can think of. Nature was flourishing and everything was living as peacefully as it could have in a world like this.

The next moment, it was chaos.

Animals started panicking, electronics went haywire, people started passing out and the rain started pouring with no prior forecast. Then there were earthquakes, which destroyed buildings and structures. Tsunamis, which flooded countries and islands on the coast. Tornadoes which took care of what the rest didn't manage to destroy.

But to those that did survive, they weren't destroyed by nature. They were destroyed by themselves. Humans started monopolizing the little materials they had left. They claimed anything they found as theirs and did even worse things to get more. With only about a couple thousand people left, that number slowly dwindled until there were a only a couple hundred left.

A group separated from that hundred, for the sake of rebuilding civilization. They knew if they stayed with them, they would get caught in the crossfire, and that humanity would be no more. So they took a share of supplies and left. The rest, about 50 people, continued to fight, until few remained.

The few that refused to fight, travelled as a group, a pride of lions who took care of each and helped each other, rather than be useless to their group. Those few, prospered in a world where people had fought when danger fell over the world.

This will be the story of these few, these juniors, seniors and anything in between. However, would you like to know the process of how they came to be? I'll be sure to inform you of the minimal details, which will explain their actions throughout this story.

Notes:

Please look forward to the first chapter. It'll introduce a lot of new characters as well as fictional places (if certain places or characters share the names of other real persons, it is NOT on purpose). Thank you for reading see you in the next chapter 😊
