Barry Swift was trapped with no way out. He’d tried to escape, sure. He’d made an attempt. That was all that mattered.
But Sheila had been too smart. She must’ve known what he had been trying to do. Perhaps that’s why Marco had been there in the first place. Perhaps he’d simply been in too big of a hurry, making his escape more noticeable.
Now he was stuck in the sewer with a javelin in his leg. He couldn’t pull it out because then there would be too much blood loss. He couldn’t walk to get help. Even if he could, Sheila wouldn’t let him try to escape again.
So he was trapped. It was a helpless situation. He had no chance of escape. He wished he’d taken the time to enjoy life instead of always being in a hurry. But it was too late for that now.
Barry Swift was helpless.
