Nothing That He Could’ve Said, Would’ve Changed His Parents’ Fate

Summary:

Arthur goes to wake up his parents but little did he know their fate.

Work Text:

Just before Arthur went to bed, his parents came into his room to say goodnight. "Good night, I am so sorry, Arthur. I love you very much and sorry for what your father and I are about to." His mother says softly as tears ran down her face. Arthur tilted hid head in confusion "What do you  mean?" His father just shake his head and replies "nothing, I love you." As hid parents walked out of his room he called "I love you too!" Unknown to him that would be the last time he would hear their voices.

The morning sun rose and Arthur slowly opened up his eyes. He rolled out of bed and slowly walked to his parents' room "mom, dad?" He called out to them, no response. "Maybe they just slept in or maybe they just didn't hear me calling them. So, I will sneak a peak in their room to see." he tries to rationalize them not answering. He walked up to the door and slowly opened the door. He looked at bed and saw two figure on the bed.

Arthur jumps on the bed, "Mom and Dad wake up!!" Neither of his parents stirred. Arthur's heart started beating out of his chest. Why didn't they move, Arthur started to breath heavily as he shakes and shakes as hard as his can to try to wake them up but nothing worked. Panic rises as tears fall down his cheeks as runs to the hallway and  scream as loud as he voice could muster "Help, my parents our not waking up,please help!!"

An neighbor who was a family friend came running out who is a doctor runs up to him "what's wrong?" " My mom and dad they aren't responding" his eyes wided and he ran into the apartment and into Arthur's parents room. He rips off the blanket to reveal Arthur's parents holding a pill bottle tightly held on to with one hand. The neighbor checks his parents' pluse. He sadly shakes his head, " I am sorry kid, they are died they have been died all night, I am so  sorry for your lost I need to make a few calls be right back kid, alright?" "Alright."

Arthur's ears start to ring, they were gone? How could that happen to him why did this happen? Why would they do this to him, make him suffer from the loss of the two people who he loved the most. Tears flowed down his face, he had no parents, he had no one. "It's my fault that they are gone, I caused them to do this to themselves, I am sorry Mom and Dad I am sorry to cause you to go this far to to this to yourself, maybe I should kill myself to make up for it." His eyes became blurry with tears and he felt hollow oh so hollow.

As the neighbor walked up to him eyes wided and then soften in pity " kid it's not your fault that they died, you don't have kill yourself. You don't own anything your life, you weren't the reason why your parents died. I promise it will get easier, but don't end your life after this one thing. You're life is important and should don't waste your life. It will be ok in the end and you have people who will help you though this ok?"

"Ok I just don't how to cope with their death what should I do? I just feel hollow" replied Arthur. I thought of a coping skill you could do is write poetry about your parents' death to help get your emotions out", he suggested.  Arthur looked up at him and ran up to his room and grabbed a pencil and paper. The neighbor smiles at him and says " now let's get you somewhere else."
