Work Text:
Cody is lying on his back in your bed, one arm tucked beneath his head as he watches you. You're resting on your stomach next to him, your chin pressed into the back of your hand where it lays on his chest.
With gentle fingers, you trace the shape of Cody's face. His eyebrows. The scar around his left eye. His nose and lips. As you trace along his jaw, Cody dips his head to kiss your wrist.
"You're the most beautiful man I know," you say, brushing your thumb along his bottom lip.
Cody presses another kiss to the pad of your thumb then says, "Thank you, love."
You giggle and lean up to nuzzle under his jaw. "How did I ever get so lucky?"
Cody slips a finger under your chin and lifts your face to meet his eyes.
"There was nothing lucky about it," he says. He kisses your forehead. "All you had to do was be yourself, and I was hooked."
Your heart melts and you're pretty sure the look on your face is utterly sappy. You move up, partially laying on Cody as you slide your arms under his shoulders. You rest your forehead against his, your noses brushing as you dip in for a long, lazy kiss.
You pull back to look at Cody's happy, contented grin before kissing him again. Then you resettle yourself so your ear rests over his heart, your arm draped over his chest. His heartbeat is a soothing rhythm under your cheek.
"Love you," you murmur.
Cody's fingers slide through your hair. "Love you too."
