To You.

Summary:

As Megumi made his way down, he was immediately greeted by the soft music of one of Suguru’s older songs playing through the living room speakers. As he neared the room, he could hear Satoru’s giggles followed by Suguru’s.

“Dad?” Megumi calls out as he finally catches sight of them. Satoru was standing on Suguru’s feet as the other struggled to carry both of their weights as they ‘danced.’ His dad, Suguru, wore a grimace as he turned, and turned, but he took one look at Satoru’s overjoyed look and it disappeared, mirroring the smile of his husband.

Ah, so this was what ‘My heart and Soul.’ meant. Megumi thinks. It was one of the songs Suguru composed with him, wanting to make a track dedicated to Satoru that wasn’t under the name of his band. Megumi thought that the lyrics were too... Fresh at first, as if the person writing it was someone who had just fallen in love and not someone who has already fallen deep into their feelings, but now Megumi realizes that that’s exactly what it’s supposed to mean.

Every day, Suguru falls in love with Satoru all over again. And he falls just as hard.

Or

Suguru and Satoru, through Megumi's eyes.

Notes:

Hi! So, I already have a lot of chapters written for the AU but I honestly just didn't know where to start so I decided to start with Megumi as an introduction to Satoru and Suguru's relationship... which I still don't know if it was a good idea but ig this is just my way of trying to see if people would like a celebrity!stsg au or not so TAT enjoy?

Work Text:

Having Suguru and Satoru Geto truly did have its quirks, especially in Megumi’s case. Making his debut while having parents who both dominated both industries in music and film secured his place in the business which Megumi was truly grateful for but the fact that they were his parents did become annoying at some point.

Take the interview he’s in right now for example.

The moment Megumi was invited to have an interview while playing with puppies, he knew that his career finally made it to the point that no other awards or titles could reach. Hell, he didn’t even care what was going to be asked during the interview at all, nor did he plan on paying full attention to them.

That was obviously a rookie mistake. It’s been fifteen minutes and there’s already been five questions about his parents and another five about his music to be released next month which should balance things out but Megumi could tell that those weren’t really the questions they arranged this interview for.

“So, how does it feel being the youngest in the Geto-Gojo household?” The woman behind the camera asks, it takes Megumi a while to respond as he is too busy trying to fit all the puppies he possibly could in his lap.

“Well uh–” He tries to find the right words. “I can’t even explain it with words, definitely an unusual family.”

The woman chuckles. “How so?”

Oh, please. You wouldn’t want to know.

“As the youngest, they spoil me a lot… I guess?” He cracks a smile at that “Especially from my sisters.”

“They must be really supportive of your work.”

Megumi immediately nods as he pets each puppy one by one, making sure that everyone gets equal attention. “Mhm. My parents are obviously really excited, especially Dad– uh, Suguru, who keeps on posting about it. Papa Toru too, he’s always in the studio and– Oh!”

Megumi cut himself off as he cooed at the two puppies snuggling next to each other. “They’re sleepy…”

“I guess they are–”

“I’m definitely going to ask for a pet dog after this.” The urge to grab his phone and tell his parents about it right now was a bit too strong to resist but he managed. He knew that his dad would love the idea of it too anyway, now that they’re spending more time at home. “Can I take a picture of them?”

“Would you like us to take a picture for you?” The interviewer suggests and that’s the best thing he’s ever heard her say all day.

“Yes. please.” A staff circles around the cameras and takes a picture of the puppies he was referring to, his bottom lip trapped between his teeth, worried that they might wake up before they could even take the picture. “Oh, that’s adorable. Thank you.”

The interviewer chuckles softly at the scene. “You’re very polite, I think a lot of your fans have noticed that.”

“I guess I’ve always been quiet, I’ve heard a lot of people say that too but Dad’s strict about the whole manners thing, mostly– and I’m glad for that. He’s very laid back but in contrast to Papa. I mean– Dad’s a bit stricter.”

“Ah, Satoru’s always been the troublemaker even when he was your age!” Yeah, Megumi’s heard that a lot too. “We do wish for his recovery and return, too.”

Silence.

“Thanks,” Megumi says. “We’ve released a few teasers so far and I’m avoiding uh, saying too much about the album and the songs in it, but I guess it’s okay to say that in contrast to my first album— this one focuses more about my family.” There were collective ooh’s in the studio which made him feel a bit relieved. Megumi continues, “My dad participated in making some of the songs too, as you know– he’s in some cool boyband.”

Everyone laughs at that.

“But the lyric writing… was the one Papa Toru participated in the most.” Megumi scrunches his nose at the thought of it. “He’d barge into the studio at midnight and go Gumi, Gumi, your father’s a genius.!” He imitates with a high-pitched voice. “And surprisingly, he’s right! So onto the song, it goes.”

“That’s sweet.”

“Mhm.”

“Suguru has said something similar in an interview before, I think.” One of the male staff beside the interviewer speaks up, “People were going insane over it back then so– I couldn’t forget.”

“I think everyone goes insane over whatever my dads do, honestly.” Megumi chuckles. It’s amazing how their fans never seemed to decrease over the years, even though Suguru’s band did have a strong fanbase on its own and so did Satoru, it still surprised Megumi how many people are so supportive of their family as a whole.

Although his parents did tell him that it wasn’t always like that– and Megumi has yet to ask more about it.

“Oh! And before we forget, We heard from Itadori that you’ll be starring in the next Spiderman movie?”

What the actual fuck?

“He did? No, I’m not.” That sounds so suspicious. “He wasn’t supposed to say that.”

Shit, that sounds even more suspicious.

“I guess that confirms it? Which role will you be playing?”

Megumi chuckles nervously. “I’m not… supposed to say anything.”

“We’ll still be looking forward to it. But for now, we’ll end the interview here! I’m surprised all the puppies managed to fall asleep.”

Megumi looks down around him, his hand still caressing the soft fur of the two puppies on his lap. “I didn’t even notice.”

He goes home with a shirt covered in dog fur that day, not bothering to change until he reaches his bedroom door since he had no other schedules planned until tonight before their family dinner. Tsumiki was coming home from a trip abroad for one of her photoshoots which his parents insisted needed celebrating (mostly Satoru.) since this was Tsumiki’s first overseas project.

Speaking of his parents, he’d have to tell them about those puppies.

As Megumi made his way down, he was immediately greeted by the soft music of one of Suguru’s older songs playing through the living room speakers. As he neared the room, he could hear Satoru’s giggles followed by Suguru’s.

Every day, Suguru falls in love with Satoru all over again. And he falls just as hard.

Megumi didn’t know how long he was watching them before Satoru finally noticed him, “Megumi!”

He steps off his poor husband’s feet and rushes to greet his son with a hug. “You didn’t tell us you were home! Did Ijichi drive you back?”

“Mhm,” Megumi responds, still a bit lost in his thoughts. “What were you guys doing?”

“Dancing!”

Megumi squints “Was that dancing?”

Satoru threw his head back as he laughed, his papa was never really selfish with his smiles around them. “Your Dad’s really good at dancing.”

Suguru groans. “You’ve crushed my feet.”

“It’s only necessary for you to feel the weight of my love for you, sweetheart,” Satoru says in return. Now this was what he had to deal with for over ten years of his life. “Now, did you need anything, Megs?”

How does he always know?

Megumi opened his mouth to speak but then suddenly, he didn’t know what he wanted anymore. For a puppy? To ask about their past before he and his sisters came along? Why his Dad had a huge scar on his neck and chest? Or maybe why Suguru suddenly left his band?

“Can you…” Megumi’s eyes shift between the two of them, his tone must’ve shifted the mood as he watches his Dad’s face contort into a look of concern as he approaches him and Satoru. “Would you like to sing a track in my album?”

“Hmm?” Satoru pulls away from their hug to give him a look. “That’s a weird request, aren’t you already done recording?”

“I know.” He sighed. “I just realized that I wanted to listen to you.”

“Megumi, your Dad’s the singer here.”

Suguru chuckles. “Your papa’s not so bad at singing either, don’t worry.”

“But–”

“Dad.” Megumi’s always been told that he was spoiled, but not in a bad way. He was aware of this too, even though he never really asks for things nor does he use his ‘privilege’ as the youngest to get what he wants. But right now… “Please?”

Satoru purses his lips, looking back at Suguru for a moment saying with a soft sigh— “Which song?”
