Work Text:
There is joy and life in the Temple courtyard. Conversation flows easily, unburdened, unwearied. The Force is settled, unclouded in a way it hasn’t been since before the war.
No, not before the war. Everything is bright and clear in a way that Yoda hasn’t felt in a very long time. This is a world not just at peace, but in balance.

This is a temptation. An invitation to turn his back on the pain of reality and embrace an endless dream.
Yoda refuses it, as his heart aches for a world that could have been.
