Work Text:

Morticia took the envelope from Larissas desk drawer, on the front it read, "If you are reading this, it means I am no longer here."

She let out a choked sob and started reading:

"Dear Morticia,

It was never meant to be like this, my darling dove.

So many years have passed between us and so many things have happened in our lives. I am sorry I couldn't put it behind me and accept what was, I'm sorry I missed your children being born, saying their first words, takin their first steps. I'm sorry I missed their first days of class, I'm sorry I missed so much of their lives.

I'm sorry I missed out on so much of your life, my love. I should have been there helping take care of you after each birth, I should have been there to watch them grow.

I should have been there for you in every sense of the word and I'm sorry I wasn't but Mo, you broke my heart but now it's time for me to forgive you. It's time for me to put it behind me and I hope I get the chance to apologize for doing what I did and for staying away all those years.

Please protect my daughter, I promised Enid that I would always protect her from those horrid people, and I shall keep my promise to her. After you read this tell Enid, my daughter, that I love her with my whole heart and I will always be with her and tell Wednesday to protect Enid's heart with her life and also tell her she was one of the best students I have ever had, she helped keep this aging woman on her toes.

I love you, Morticia Frump and I will never stop, not even in death. My only hope is that I hope you never have to read this, my darling.

Love, Larissa"

Morticia let out a violent sob, clutched the letter to her chest, and fell to her knees, "I should be the one apologizing to you! If you can hear me, I am sorry and I promise I will never stop loving you, I never have. We shall meet again, my darling shifter. I love you."

After reading the letter, Morticia told the girls what Larissa wanted them to know. Holding them as they held each other, she looked down to see Wednesday, who was still quiet and clutching Enid closely, crying. She placed a gentle kiss to the girls' head and clutched them tighter.

*40 years later, on the day Morticia & Larissa met*

Till her dying breath and beyond, Morticia kept her promise.

Lying on her death bed with her children and their partners by her side, her last words were said with a smile, "Oh Larissa, you look as beautiful as the day we met."

Notes:

Thank you for reading! :)
