Work Text:
Sally really had not been feeling well.
She'd felt increasingly nauseous over a couple days as a cut she'd gotten on her arm grew more and more nasty looking. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your perspective), the injury was near her shoulder, so she was able to hide it pretty easily. She had no intention on worrying her coworkers.
Emcee saw her wavering before a performance and asked her if she was okay, to which she just smiled and nodded and said she was just tired. He didn't fully believe her, but he decided to take it on faith.
After the performance, she stumbled offstage and he knew then that something was definitely wrong. He caught her backstage before she went into the women's dressing room and redirected her to his private dressing room. She didn't even fight with him about it.
He sat her down and demanded she tell him what was wrong. No longer having the will to lie about it, she lifted her sleeve and revealed the definitely-infected cut. Emcee winced as he saw it.
"You lied to me" he said after a moment. He wasn't angry- Just stating the facts.
"Sorry" she apologized. He shrugged. He wasn't hurt about it. He silently grabbed a slightly dirty cloth off the counter and went to the small sink he had in the room. He ran the cloth under cold water, then walked back to her. Before placing the cloth on the wound he thought for a moment, grabbed his flask off the counter and splashed a bit of alcohol over the cut. She gasped in pain but said nothing. He then held the cool cloth against the injury. A moment passed before she gagged suddenly. "I don't feel so good"
"Are you about to throw up?" he asked. A nod. "Scheiße (Shit), okay" he muttered. He quickly grabbed a small prop bowl off the counter and shoved it into her hands, wincing as she upchucked what little she'd eaten that day into it.
"I'm sorry" she whimpered.
"You don't feel well" he dismissed. "It's okay, I promise"
"Thank you" she told him. He shook his head. "Thank you for taking care of me"
"Don't even mention it, Miss Sally Bowles"
