Chapter 1: Introduction
Chapter Text
“My daughter was raised by fairies because of your mother’s curse. So her first words, her first steps, I missed it all!” Leah exclaimed. She crossed her arms, turned to Fairy Godmother, and told her she couldn’t be trusted. Mal was about to apologize for what her mother did but before she could, a cloud surrounded everyone and transported them into a room that looked like a movie theater.
Everyone was freaking out and had no idea what was going on. The royals protect their children to keep them safe in case the reason why they're somehow here was dangerous.
“We don’t mean any harm,” a voice called out. Everyone jumped at the sound and turned to see the Fates. Evie grabbed Mal’s hand, knowing if the Fates were here then her father, Hades might be here as well.
“Your excellency, what are we doing here?” King Beast asked.
“Well your majesty, you all are here to watch your past, present, and future. We couldn’t watch on the sidelines anymore with an innocent woman getting verbally attacked,” Clotho answered the king’s question.
“Thank you! Someone finally agrees with me, these villains should be put back where they came from,” Leah said.
“Actually I wasn’t talking about you. I was talking about Mal. She did nothing wrong to you nor your family as you mentioned at Family Day,” Clotho sassed.
“Her mother cursed my daughter!”
“Exactly, her mother! She wasn’t even conceived so it’s not Mal’s fault about what happened to Princess Aurora,” Lachesis angrily said, this old woman was getting on her nerves.
“Shall we start?” Ben clears his throat so they can get on with the viewing.
“Yes, great idea, Prince Ben. But we need to bring in two more people,” Clotho said. She turned to Atropos. “If you would be so kind and bring them here.”
“Of course sister,” Atropos said. Most of the people were curious who else would be joining them, especially if Atropos was bringing them.
Two adults appeared when the smoke cleared. Everyone stared in shock at the new arrivals. Standing in front of everyone were adult versions of Ben and Mal. Older Ben and Mal both looked at each other.
“Uh hi?” Future!Ben said. Future!Mal snorted at her husband.
“You have such a way of words, Benny Boo,” Future!Mal teased, she still calls him that anytime she teases him. Future!Ben groaned at the mention of the old nickname.
“Why are we here exactly?” Future!Ben asked, turning to the Fates.
“You two will be accompanying your younger selves by watching their future/your past,” Atropos explained.
The adult versions nodded in understanding. Future!Ben sent Future!Mal a smirk, fully knowing what the Fates are going to show. She just rolled her eyes but still smiled at him.
“Please take your seats so we can begin,” the Fates said. Everyone sat where their names were engraved on the seats.
“Excuse me but wouldn’t it be confusing if we’re talking about one of Bens and one of Mals,” Belle said. The Fates were taken back, they completely didn’t think of that. Atropos turned to look at the older two.
“It’s completely up to you what you want them to call you,” she said.
“Benjamin is fine for me,” Future!Ben or now Benjamin said.
“Malinda,” Future!Mal or Malinda said.
Audrey and Chad snort at how ridiculous it sounded. Luckily neither Aurora nor Cinderella heard them. However, Hercules and Meg looked at each other. Malinda was a Greek name and they knew Maleficent would never give her daughter a Greek name. But the only person who’s Greek that’s on the Isle is… Hades.
‘Should we confront her?’ Hercules asked Meg, through the mind link. Descendants of the Greek Gods and their partners can communicate with each other using their minds.
‘Not right away, especially her younger self’ Meg said. Hercules nodded.
Everyone got quiet as the screen lit up and watching their past, present and future has officially begun.

Mal: Once upon a time, long long ago
“M, you’re narrating!” Evie pointed out, noticing her best friend’s voice.
“Yeah, but why though?” Mal said, turning to her older self for an answer.
Malinda shrugged. “No clue, I’m in the same boat as you.”
Mal: Well, more like 20 years ago. Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest personal friends.
Belle and Beast looked at each other and smiled, remembering their wedding.
“6000?!” All the kids said in shock.
“Not all of the people who came were our closest friends. During that time, we were uniting all the kingdoms so we had to invite all of them,” Beast explained.
“We wanted to have a smaller wedding but alas we had to have the grand royal wedding,” Belle said. Beast grabbed her hand, they both wanted that smaller wedding but they had to follow royal procedures.
No one noticed Benjamin and Malinda shared a small smile. They were able to get their small wedding, along with having the big royal wedding.
Mal: Big cake.
The adults that went to the wedding chuckled, it was definitely a big cake.
Mal: Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon
“Wait, you guys didn’t have a honeymoon?” Ben asked his parents.
“No, your father wanted to make sure Auradon was set up correctly and accordingly. And you know how much your father is a perfectionist,” Belle explained.
“Hmm sounds like someone I know,” Malinda said, looking at Benjamin.
“Yes, yes, I know. You, Chip, Akiho, and Emir are always telling me,” he said.
“Yeah, because you’re a workaholic,” Malinda said.
“Ben, Benjamin, what is she talking about?” Belle sternly asked, looking between the two versions of her son.
“Nothing!” Ben and Benjamin said at the same time.
Belle sighed, she would be talking to her son about apparently being a workaholic.
Mal: Beast united all of the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon. He rounded up all the villains and sidekicks, basically all the really interesting people
“Hey! We’re interesting too!” Audrey and Chad exclaimed.
Mal rolled her eyes. “Uh-huh.”
Mal: and he booted them off to the Isle of the Lost, with a magical barrier to keep them there. This is my hood. No magic. No wifi.
“NO WIFI?!” Audrey and Chad screamed.
“Yeah?” The VKs looked at the two, sending them questioning looks.
“What do you guys even do without wifi?!” Audrey asked, she couldn’t think what she would do without wifi.
“Sword fight.”
“Throw smoke bombs.”
“Sew clothes.”
“Make gadgets.”
Mal: No way out. Or so I thought. Hang on, you’re about to meet us. But first, this happened.
“Dude you’re so in thought that your tailor is manually getting your measurements since you’re not paying any attention,” Emir laughed, watching the Ben on screen.
“I just got really focused on my proclamation and wanting it to work,” Ben shrugged.
Tailor: Ah-ha
The teens laughed when he moved Ben’s head so he could get his head measurement for the crown.
Beast: How is it possible that you’re going to be crowned king next month? You’re just a baby!
“If he’s just a baby then why is he getting crowned at 16? You guys could have waited until he was 18 and out of school or even 21!” Malinda said.
“I quite agree with Malinda, I was crowned at the age of 21. 16 is way too young, especially when he’s still in school,” Elsa said.
“I appreciate the concerns but I wanted to give my parents some time for themselves,” Benjamin said.
“Uh-huh. You couldn’t wait until you were at least out of high school?” Malinda asked her husband with a raised eyebrow.
“If I waited then I wouldn’t have met you,” Benjamin said.
Belle watched Benjamin and Malinda with a smile. She could tell there was still something there between the two.
Belle: He’s turning 16, dear.
Ben: Hey, pops.
Beast: 16? That’s far too young to be crowned king. I didn’t make a good decision until I was at least 42.
Belle: Uh, you decided to marry me at 28.
Beast: Ah, it was either you or a teapot.
“Ooo,” All the teens let out.
“Who wants to bet Belle made him sleep on the couch?” Malinda theorized, noticing her mother-in-law's face.
The royals laughed.
Beast: Kidding
Ben: Mom, dad
Tailor: Ah! Nn-nnh!
Everyone snorted at the tailor stopping Ben from moving.
Ben: I’ve chosen my first official proclamation. I’ve decided that the children of the Isle of the Lost be given a chance to live here in Auradon.
The VKs were shocked that it was Ben’s idea. They thought it was a part of Maleficent’s plan.
Ben: Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they’ve been abandoned.
“How many times did you look at the island?” Mal asked Ben.
Ben blushed and shrugged. He didn’t want to admit that most of the time it was because of his dream he’s had since he was 12, especially because he didn't want to say anything since the girl that asked looked a lot like the girl in his dream.
Beast: The children of our sworn enemies, living among us?
Ben: We start out with a few at first, only the ones who need our help the most. I’ve already chosen them.
Beast: Have you?
Belle: I gave you a second chance. Who are their parents?
Ben: Cruella de Vil… Jafar… Evil Queen… and Maleficent.
Beast: Maleficent! She is the worst villain in the land!
“Exactly! That’s what I’ve been saying this whole time! We have to put her daughter back before she does anything!” Leah screeched.
Malinda sighed and whispered to Benjamin, “It was so peaceful before.”
Benjamin lightly chucked and nodded.
“Mother! As both Lachesis and Clotho had said before, Mal didn’t do anything! She wasn’t even born yet, it’s not her fault for what happened,” Aurora acknowledged.
Mal was shocked at how Aurora stood up for her.
Ben: Dad, just hear me out here.
Beast: I won’t hear of it. They are guilty of unspeakable crimes.
Beast: Dad, their children are innocent. Don’t you think they deserve a shot of a normal life? Dad?
Malinda grabbed Benjamin’s hand, she knew her husband just wanted everyone’s approval and to make everyone happy. It’s one of the reasons why she fell in love with him.
Beast: I suppose their children are innocent.
Belle: Well. Well done. Shall we?
“Anything else thought that was kinda awkward?” Chip asked.
“Chip!” Mrs Potts horrifically said. “You don’t ask these kinds of things!”
Belle softly laughed at how Chip, a grown man now, was getting scolded by his mother. “Mrs Potts, it’s ok. To be honest, having to watch it is kinda awkward.”
“Does anyone else hear music?” Lonnie pointed out as they watched the scenery change and music started to play.
“Nice tag, Mal,” Jay complimented.
“Thanks,” Mal said.
Mal: They say I’m trouble
They say I’m bad
They say I’m evil
And that makes me glad
Ben looked at his girlfriend and really hoped it doesn’t make her glad anymore.
Jay: A dirty no-good
Done to the bone
Your worst nightmare
Can’t take me home
Evie: So I got some mischief
In my blood
Can you blame me?
I never got no love
Carlos: They think I’m callous
A lowlife hood
I feel so useless
Jane frowned at that line. Carlos shouldn’t be feeling he’s useless.
All: Misunderstood
Mal & Evie: Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who’s the baddest of them all?
Welcome to my wicked world
Wicked World
“That was so cool what you did, Jay! You have got to teach me how to do that!” Emir said, watching Jay balance on a pull then doing a flip off of it and sliding down.
All: I’m rotten to the core, core
Rotten to the core
I’m rotten to the core, core
Who could ask for more?
I’m nothing like the kid next
Like the kid next door
I’m rotten to the (core)
I’m rotten to the
I’m rotten to the core
Mal: Call me a schemer
Call me a freak
“Schemer!” Chad called out.
“Freak!” Audrey added.
Aurora and Cinderella looked at their kids in shock. They both knew that’s not how they raised their children.
“Chad Charming!” Cinderella scolded.
“Audrey Rose!” Aurora chastised.
Both Chad and Audrey slightly shrunk in their seats to try to hide from their mom’s scolding.
“Aurora, they did nothing wrong. She said to call her those things and they were just following directions,” Leah tried to reason, saving her granddaughter a lecture, which she thinks Audrey doesn’t deserve.
“I am so sorry, Mal,” Aurora apologized, Cinderella nodded in agreement. Both are ashamed of their children’s actions.
“Nah, it’s ok,” Mal dismissed.
Mal: How can you say that?
I’m just unique
Jay: What, me a traitor?
Ain’t got your back?
Are we not friends?
What’s up with that?
Evie: So I’m a misfit
So I’m a flirt
I broke your hurt
I made you hurt
Carlos: The past is past
Forgive, forget
The truth is
All: You ain’t seen nothing yet
Mal & Evie: Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who’s the baddest of them all?
Welcome to my wicked world
Wicked World
Carlos: Come on!
Belle stared at the screen in shock. There were so many kids. And the state of the Isle! Beast and her didn’t leave it like this.
“Oh my, look at all those children,” Mrs Potts said, gasping at the sight.
“What happened? It wasn’t like this when we set it up,” Beast said.
“Well, you kinda left us for 20 years, what do you expect?” Jay shrugged.
Lonnie watched the VKs dancing with fascination.
All: I’m rotten to the core, core
Rotten to the core
I’m rotten to the core, core
Who could ask for more?
I’m nothing like the kid next
Like the kid next door
I’m rotten to the
I’m rotten to the
I’m rotten to the core
“You just stole that kid’s lollipop!” Hyllus said.
“Duh, it’s the Isle,” Mal replied.
“Plus she needed to learn early on that she needs to guard her stuff,” Carlos said.
Mal: Hmm. Hi, mom.
Leah screamed when Maleficent appeared on the screen.
Both Mal and Malinda winced at the sound. They have better hearing than the average human being, so a scream that loud, really hurts their ears.
Maleficent: Stealing candy, Mal? I’m so disappointed.
“Wait but wouldn’t she technically be proud of you since a parent being disappointed is the opposite for you guys?” Rowyn asked.
“Huh, she is right. It does make sense,” Malinda said.
Mal: It was from a baby.
Maleficent: Ah! That’s my nasty little girl. Give it back to the dreadful creature.
The royals looked disgusted as Maleficent spat on the lollipop and put it in her armpit before handing it to her hunch man who fully clasped the sucker.
Mal: Mom.
Maleficent: It’s the deets, Mal, that make the difference between mean and truly evil. When I was your age, I was
Mal & Maleficent: Cursing entire kingdoms
“Cursing entire kingdoms,” Mal and Malinda both said in person as well.
“Does she say that a lot?” Emir asked.
Malinda snorted. “The better question is when she isn’t saying it,” she said, rolling her eyes.
Benjamin rubbed comforting circles on Malinda’s hand. She sent him a smile.
Maleficent: You. Walk with me. See, I’m just, just trying to teach you the thing that really counts. How to be me.
“Gee, self-absorbed, much,” Rachel snarked.
“That’s Maleficent for ya,” Malinda said.
“I like her,” Mal whispered in Evie’s ear, talking about Rapunzel’s daughter. Evie nodded in agreement.
Mal: I know that. And I’ll do better.
The princesses frowned upon hearing that.
Maleficent: Oh! There’s news! I buried the lead.
Jay started laughing at Mal’s reaction when Maleficent said that. Mal angrily flicked the back of his head.
Maleficent: You four have been chosen to go to a different school… in Auradon
Evie, Carlos & Jay: Whoa! Oh, oh, oh!
“You could be at least more grateful,” Audrey huffed.
Doug smiled at how cute Evie looked, even if she was protesting about going to Auradon.
Mal: What? I’m not going to some boarding school filled to the brim with prissy pink princesses!
“Excuse me!” Audrey screeched.
“You’re literally wearing pink,” Mal snarked.
Evie: And perfect princes. Ugh.
Jay: Yeah, and I don’t do uniforms. Unless it’s leather. You feel me?
Carlos: I read somewhere that they allow dogs in Auradon. Mom said they’re rabid pack animals who eat boys who don’t behave.
Jay: Woof!
Mal: Yeah, mom, we’re not going.
Maleficent: Oh, you’re thinking small, Pumpkin. It’s all about world domination.
The VKs looked at each other, they knew the plan to steal the wand would be shown.
Maleficent: Knuckleheads! Mal…
Mal slowly retrieved her hand from Ben’s grasp. Ben looked at her questioning but Mal crossed her arms in an attempt to comfort herself. She stared at the screen waiting for it to play the next scene.

Chapter Text
Maleficent: You will go. You will find the Fairy Godmother and you will bring me back her magic wand. Easy peasy.
The royals stared at the screen in shock.
“I KNEW IT!” Leah yelled. “THEY’RE PLANNING TO DESTROY ALL OF AURADON!”
The other adults and the AKs gave the VKs wary looks. Audrey and Chad were shooting them dirty glares. Ben, however, was staring at them with this kicked puppy-eyed look, not wanting to believe it.
“I don't even know why you guys are surprised in the first place. I mean, it’s Maleficent we’re talking about! You really thought villains would send their kids to Auradon for them to have a better life, no. They want revenge,” Mal said.
Mal: What’s in it for us?
Maleficent: Matching thrones, Hers-and-hers crowns.
Carlos: Um I-I think she meant us.
Maleficent: It’s all about you and me, baby.
“Surprised she even mentioned me,” Malinda quietly uttered.
Maleficent: Do you enjoy watching innocent people suffer?
Mal: Well, yeah. I mean who doesn’t-
Maleficent: Well, then get me that wand, and you and I can see all that and so much more. And with that wind and my scepter, I will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!
Evil Queen: Our will.
Maleficent: Our will, our will. And if you refuse, you’re grounded for the rest of your life, missy.
Mal: What? Mom-
“Wait, you said magic doesn’t work though?” Akiho asked as they watched Maleficent and Mal’s eyes glow green.
“Evil magic. Evil magic doesn’t work on the Isle because well, duh. But magic used for good works on the Isle,” Malinda explained.
Mal: Fine, Whatever.
Maleficent: I win.
“ She always does, ” Mal thought with a sigh.
Evil Queen: Evie! My little evil-ette in training.
“Evil-ette?” Belle painfully said.
“The Isle likes to come with words,” Mal said.
Belle, Ben, and Benjamin, all looked to be in pain at that thought.
“You bookworms,” Chip said, noticing the looks on their faces and shaking his head.
Evil Queen: You just find yourself a prince with a big castle and a mother-in-law wing.
Evie & Evil Queen: And lots and lots of mirrors!
Evie: Ah!
Evil Queen: No laughing. Wrinkles.
“I’m sorry, no laughing?!” Rapunzel asked in shock. A child shouldn’t be restricted from laughing.
“Mommy always wants me to look my best,” Evie said, not seeing much of a big deal.
Cruella de Vil: Oh, well, they’re not taking my Carlos, because I’d miss him too much.
“At least one parent cares,” Anna slightly smiled.
Carlos: Really, mom?
Belle frowned at how Carlos had been surprised his own mother would miss him.
Cruella de Vil: Yes. Who would touch up my roots, fluff my fur, scrape the bunions of my feet?
“Never mind,” Anna sighed.
“He’s not a slave, he’s your son!” Cinderella said. She was treated as a slave her whole childhood, she knows perfectly well how Carlos feels.
Carlos: Yeah, maybe a new school wouldn’t be the worst thing.
Cruella de Vil: Oh, Carlos, they have dogs in Auradon.
Carlos: Oh, no! I’m not going!
“She just manipulated her own son!” Jasmine accused.
“It’s an island filled with villains, what else do you expect?” Malinda said.
Benjamin removed his hand from her clasp and used it to rub her back. Malinda shifted closer to him.
Jafar: Well, Jay isn’t going either. I need him to stock the shelves in my shop. What did you score?
“Hold up, Jarfar has a shop?” Aladdin asked.
“Yeah, he sells whatever I steal,” Jay said. It felt weird for him to be talking to Aladdin.
Jafar: A lamp.
Jay: Dad. I already tried.
Jafar: Ah!
“I see he’s still obsessed with lamps,” Jasmine.
“Hey, aren’t you part genie?” Emir asked.
Jay and Mal both sent each other looks. Mal raised her eyebrow to signify if he wants to say it. Jay softly nodded.
“I was but not anymore,” Jay said.
“What do you mean?” Aziz asked.
“One day, I actually found Jay’s lamp. And during that time, there was a horrible sickness going around, it was killing a lot of the people. So I wished for the sickness to go away and for Jay to be freed,” Mal said. Jay gave her a small smile and Mal easily returned it.
The adults were taken back from her selflessness. You would think a villain kid would ask the barrier to be broken and set free but Mal wished something to help her friend.
Evil Queen: Evie’s not going anywhere, until we get rid of this unibrow, hmm?
Maleficent: What is wrong with you all? People used to cower at the mention of our names!
The adults frowned as Maleficent grabbed Mal’s arm and basically shoved her to the side.
Benjamin kissed the top of Malinda’s head and continued rubbing her back.
Maleficent: For 20 years, I have searched for a way off this island. For 20 years, they have robbed us from our revenge. Revenge on Snow White and her horrible little men
Florian pulled Snow White closer to him.
Evil Queen: Ow!
Maleficent: Revenge on Aladdin and his bloated genie.
Aladdin brought Jasmine closer to him.
Jafar: I will-
Jay: Pop!
Maleficent: Revenge on every sneaky Dalmatian that escaped your clutches.
Carlos clutched Dude tightly to him, to protect him from his mother.
Cruella de Vil: Oh, but they didn’t get baby. They didn’t get the- They didn’t get the baby!
“No offense, but your mom is crazy, Carlos,” Tyrone said.
Carlos shrugged, he’s used to his mother’s craziness.
Maleficent: And I, Maleficent! The evilest of them all, I will finally have my revenge on Sleeping Beauty and her relentless little prince.
Phillip tightens his hold on Aurora before Leah can.
Maleficent: Villains!
Jafar, Cruella de Vil & Evil Queen: Yes?
Maleficent: Our day has come.
Evil Queen: Hmm.
Maleficent: E.Q, give her the magic mirror.
Evil Queen: Yeah.
Evie: This is your magic mirror?
Evil Queen: Yeah, well, it ain’t what it used to be, but then again, neither are we!
“Has it always been that small?” Snow White asked.
“We shrunk it down,” Fairy Godmother explained.
Evil Queen: It will help you find things.
Evie: Like a prince?
Evil Queen: Like my waistline.
Maleficent: Like the magic wand! Hello!
Evil Queen: Hello.
Maleficent: My spell book. I need my- that book.
“I thought we took her spell book,” Beast said.
“You did, but she wrote all the spells she could remember,” Mal explained.
Maleficent: Oh, ah! The safe. The safe.
“That’s a fridge,” Chip said. Mal just shrugged.
Maleficent: Queen, help me. I never can figure this thing out.
Evil Queen: Voil.
Maleficent: My spell- come, darling. Come. Oh-ooh! Oh, oh. There she is. It doesn’t work here, but it will in Auradon. Remember? When we were spreading evil and ruining lives.
Evil Queen: Like it was yesterday.
Maleficent: And now you will be making your own memories
“At least she’s letting you have full control,” Fairy Godmother, she wasn’t happy they were planning to steal her wand but at least she’s letting them do it by themselves.
Maleficent: by doing exactly as I tell you.
“Never mind then,” Fairy Godfather sighed.
Maleficent: Door.
Evil Queen: Oh.
Jay: Whoo! Let’s get this party started!
Malinda and Benjamin smiled, remembering Jay said that exact line at Benjamin’s coronation.
Cruella de Vil: Carlos! Come.
“He’s not your slave,” Jane said. Carlos smiled at her.
Evil Queen: Who is the fairest of them all?
Evie: Me.
Evil Queen: Ah!
Evie: You.
Evil Queen: Yes! Let’s go.
Jafar: Now, recite our mantra.
Jay: There’s no team in “I”
Jafar: Oh, run along. You’re making me tear up.
Jay: My bag.
Jafar: Yeah.
Jay: Dad
Jafar: Coming!
Mal snorted when she saw Jafar stole from Maleficent.
Maleficent: The future of the free world rests on your shoulders. Don’t blow it.
“That’s too much pressure for a kid!” Meg said.
“That’s my mother for you,” Mal said, she slightly stiffened hearing Meg’s voice.
Maleficent: Mal!
“Hope you will be giving that back,” Fairy Godmother sternly told, referring to the little crown decoration on the limo.
“Do you know if Jay still has that?” Benjamin whispered to Malinda. She shrugged, she wasn’t too sure to be honest.
Evil Queen: Ah! Smells like common folk.
Cruella de Vil: Come back here, now! Carlos!
“Yes, Carlos get away from here!” All the guys from the tourney team shouted, except for Chad.
Cruella de Vil: Ingrate.
“That’s not threatening at all,” Rachel sarcastically said as Maleficent sent Mal the watching look.
Jafar: Bye-bye.
Driver: The jackals have landed.
“Oh my,” Belle gasped. “I am sorry-”
“Your majesty! It’s ok,” Evie assured.
“Yeah, totally,” Mal nodded.
“We’re used to it,” Jay shrugged.
Jafar: Bring home the gold!
Cruella de Vil: Bring home a puppy!
Carlos hugged Dude closer to him.
Evil Queen: Bring home a prince!
“Please,” Chad said, rolling his eyes. “What prince would want to come home with you?”
Evie looked down while both Jay and Mal sent him glares.
Everyone laughed as they watched Jay and Carlos fight over the candy.
“Oh please, you guys are acting as if you have never seen candy,” Audrey complained, rolling her eyes.
The VKs stayed quiet. The royals that actually cared, looked at the VKs in concern.
Ben, Emir, and Akiho all looked at each other. They always help out with the food donations for the Isle. They have been getting them…right?
“Let’s just say we don’t see a lot of it,” Malinda softly answered.
Evie: You’re looking a little washed out.
“E, I’m always looking washed out,” Mal said with a raised eyebrow.
Evie: Let me help you out.
Mal: Ew, stop. I’m plotting.
Benjamin gave Malinda a look that said he didn’t believe that excuse.
“Ok, maybe, I was thinking of a certain brunette with hazel eyes,” she whispered in his ear. Benjamin smiled at her and kissed her cheek.
Somehow no one noticed that.
Evie: Well, it’s not very attractive.
Ben and Benjamin both greatly disagreed with that opinion.
Carlos: Oh! These! It’s salty like nuts, but it’s sweet like I don’t know what.
“Those are Peanut Butter Cups,” Tristan said.
Carlos nodded, saving that information for later. He really liked those.
Jay: Let me see.
Audrey and Chad gagged at the sight of the chewed peanut butter cup.
Jay: Ew!
Carlos: Ow!
Evie: Look!
Carlos: It’s a trap!
The royals stared at the VKs in shock.
“You guys thought we were going to try and kill you?” Ben asked Mal.
“Well, when you come from the Isle and someone is driving right into the ocean, you’re going to think that,” Jay said.
Carlos: What just happened?
Evie: It must be magic.
Mal: Hey. Did this little button just open the magic barrier?
Driver: No, this one opens the magic barrier.
“Why would he tell them that?!” Leah complained.
Driver: That one opens my garage. And this button…
Mal: Okay. Nasty. I like that guy.
“This just reminded me how much I liked him,” Malinda said, nodding with her younger self on screen. Benjamin snorted and shook his head in amusement.

Chapter 4: The Meeting
Chapter Text
“Why did you guys go so extra with us coming?” Evie asked while they watched the Auradon Prep Band start to play in the background.
“Because it’s Ben,” Akiho said as if someone was asking if the sky was blue.
Malinda started laughing when the band was on the screen. Doug slightly felt hurt that Malinda was laughing at him.
“I’m sorry,” Malinda said, controlling her laughter and fanning her face. “I wasn’t laughing at Doug, don’t worry. I was laughing at how the band just looks like animatronics.”
Everyone took a closer look and they honestly did.
Carlos: Oh! Ah! Ow! Stop! You got everything else! Why do you want whatever this is?
Jay: Cause you want it!
Everyone laughed at the brotherly fight between Jay and Carlos.
Carlos: No!
Jay: Give it to me!
Carlos: Ow!
Jay: Let go!
Mal: Guys, guys, guys! We have an audience.
“You sound a little embarrassed of us, Mali,” Jay teased. Mal shoots him a glare for using her childhood nickname.
“Because you two were acting like children,” Mal sassed.
Jay: Just cleaning up. Get up.
Fairy Godmother: Leave it like you found it!
“Of course, Ben is in a suit,” Emir said, shaking his head.
“He’s always in a suit,” Akiho added.
“First off, I wanted to make a good impression! Second, I don’t always wear suits,” Ben stated.
Emir, Akiho, Lonnie, Malinda, and Benjamin gave Ben a look.
“What?” Ben asked, he didn’t see what was the big deal.
“Younger me, trust me, you do wear suits a lot,” Benjamin said.
Fairy Godmother: And by that, I mean just leave it.
Jay: Hello, Foxy. The name’s Jay.
“Ooo,” Mal, Evie, and Carlos said at Jay’s failed attempt at flirting.
“Already losing your touch, I see, Jay,” Mal teased.
Jay rolled his eyes at all three of them. The adults smiled at how close the four seemed to be.
Fairy Godmother: Welcome to Auradon Prep. I’m Fairy Godmother, headmistress.
Mal: The Fairy Godmother? As in, “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo”?
Fairy Godfather: Bibbidi-bobbidi. You know it.
Mal: Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella when you just appeared, out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile.
Fairy Godmother: Oh.
Mal: And that sparkling wand.
“So subtle, Mal,” Jay jested.
Fairy Godmother: That was a long time. And as I always say, “don’t focus on the past or you’ll miss the future.”
Ben: It’s so good to finally meet you all. I’m Ben.
“A man of few words,” Emir jokes.
Audrey: Prince Benjamin. Soon to be King.
“Audrey, I wanted to introduce myself without my title,” Ben sighed.
Evie: You had me at prince. My mom’s a queen, which makes me a princess.
Audrey: The Evil Queen has no royal status here and neither do you.
“Audrey!” Aurora said she was shocked at how her daughter was acting.
“Technically, she is a princess. Since she's my step-sister,” Snow White said.
Evie gave a small smile to Snow White.
Ben: This is Audrey.
Audrey: Princess Audrey. His girlfriend. Right, Bennyboo?
“Insecure, much?” Evan mumbled to his sisters.
“So glad we don’t get to hear that nickname ever again,” Lonnie said.
“Hey! What’s so bad about it?” Audrey said.
The teens gave her a look, along with Chip.
Fairy Godmother: Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
“Were our feelings always that obvious?” Malinda whispered to Benjamin, as Ben looked at Mal and she gave him a smile before he looked back at Audrey.
“Well in your defense, you didn’t know what kind of feelings you were feeling since you never experienced it,” Benjamin whispered.
Fairy Godmother: The doors of wisdom are never shut.
“Mom, I think you were a little too enthusiastic,” Jane said as Mal jumped in surprise.
Fairy Godmother: But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00.
“Of course Ben nodded, he’s a little bookworm,” Ahiko chuckled. He figured it was better than Ben staying in his office for hours.
Fairy Godmother: And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews.
“Love how all of you guys are just staring at each other,” Aziz said laughing.
Ben: It is so, so, so good to finally me-meet you all.
Everyone watched Ben and Mal shake hands.
“Is there something you two would like to tell us?” Emir beamed. He was happy Ben dumped Audrey but he never noticed how close Ben and Mal were. People don’t stare at each other in the eyes when they normally meet, so obviously there’s something special between them.
Benjamin and Malinda smiled at each other. They knew the reason why they stared at each other longer than normal is because they were making sure it’s not a dream since the other people looked so similar to the person in their dreams.
Ben and Mal blushed, never noticing how they’re meeting was longer than the others.
Ben: This is a momentous occasion, and one that I hope will go down in history… Is that chocolate? As the day our two peoples began to heal.
Mal: Or the day that you showed four peoples where the bathrooms are.
Ben: A little bit over the top?
Mal: A little more than a little bit.
“And Mal sassing me has officially begun,” Benjamin announced.
Malinda chuckled and said, “Yup, but you love it though.”
Chip, Mrs Potts, and Belle, being the romantic ones, and can read Ben like an open book, they all sent knowing glances at each other. There is definitely something going on between those two. Belle couldn’t help being happy for her son, she knew she overreacted when Ben was introducing Mal to her and Beast. But seeing their meeting and seeing how their older selves react, she could make the guess they’re still together, even married.
Ben: Well, so much for my first impression.
“Who wants to be in charge of keeping track of how many times Ben and Mal just lost in each other’s eyes?” Ahiko asked, looking around.
Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa shake their heads at Ahiko’s behavior.
“Ooo, I will!” Chip excitedly volunteered. It brought Chip comfort and ease to see his surrogate little brother be happy and in love with someone. He knows Ben isn’t either of those things with Audrey so seeing him like this makes him happy.
Audrey: Hey! You’re Maleficent’s daughter, aren’t you? Yeah, you know what? I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff. Oh, my mom’s Aurora. Sleeping-
Aurora and Phillip both stared at their daughter in shock. They have always taught her to be kind-hearted and give other people second chances. This is not what they taught her, have they been blind to this kind of behavior?
“You’re grounded,” Aurora flatly said.
“W-what? Mom!” Audrey whined. Audrey was taken by surprise when her mother announced that. She’s never been grounded either and she doesn’t understand why. It’s all Mal’s fault but she’s the one that's getting blamed.
Mal: Beauty! Yeah, I’ve heard the name. You know, and I totally do not blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world but my mother to their stupid christening.
Audrey: Water under the bridge.
Mal: Totes!
“Awkward,” All the teens coughed.
Ben: Okay! So, how about a tour? Yeah? Auradon Prep, originally built over 300 years ago and converted into a high school by my father when he became king.
“She’s wrapped around Ben’s arm like a snake,” Aziz whispered to Emir. Emir nodded, he didn’t like Audrey and Ben’s relationship, it was fine at first but suddenly it changed and it’s draining the life out of Ben now.
Ben: Carlos, it’s ok. My father wanted his statue to morph from beast to man to remind us that anything is possible.
Mal: Does he shed much?
Ben: Yeah, mom won’t let him on the couch.
“That is not true!” Beast said as the teens all started laughing, including some of the adults.
“You took me by surprise with that remark and it made me warm up to you,” Malinda said.
“Really?” Benjamin questioned. Malinda nodded.
Mal: So you guys have a lot of magic here in Auradon? Like wands and things like that?
“Real subtle,” Jay teased again, Mal just flicked the back of his head.
Ben: Yeah, it exists of course, but it’s pretty much retired.
“Why is that exactly?” Mal asked. “I mean, magic is the reason why half of you guys got your happily ever after.”
“Plus without using it, it can be dangerous for that person and the people around them. Without at least practicing your magic, it will eventually cause that person to flare up. I mean I almost did and I could have hurt myself but also Carlos and Dude since they were in the same room as me,” Malinda said.
Mal wrapped an arm around Carlos. She would never want to hurt him. He’s practically her little brother and she would do anything to protect him.
“It’s ok, Mal,” Carlos smiled. Mal smiled back.
Ben: Most of us are just ordinary mortals.
Mal: Who happened to be kings and queens.
Audrey: That’s true. Our royal blood goes back hundreds of years.
Ben: Doug. Doug, come down.
Everyone seemed to notice how Ben’s attitude completely changed. It was almost like Ben used Doug as a getaway from Audrey.
Belle and Aurora sent glances at each other.
Ben: This is Doug. He’s going to help you with your class schedules and show you the rest of the dorms. I’ll see you later, okay?
“Ooo you gonna go see Mal later?” Tyrone teased.
Ben blushed, it didn’t notice how he mostly looking at Mal whilst saying that.
Ben: And if there is anything you need, feel free to-
Audrey: Ask Doug.
“Possessive, much?” Rowyn mumbled. The teens nearby snorted in agreement.
Audrey & Mal: Ha.
Doug: Hi, guys. I’m Dopey’s son. As in Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and…
“Doug, you didn’t have to name all of your uncles. We know who Dopey is,” Mal slightly smiled at the boy.
Doug was shocked by that but nodded in embarrassment.
Everyone looked kinda surprised, even some turned to Malinda.
She just shrugged and said, “He makes Evie happy.”
Evie gave Malinda a smile, which Malinda easily gave back.
Doug: Heigh-ho.
“Got a crush, Doug?” Samatha slightly teased Doug. She was happy for him, he’s basically her cousin. Plus Evie seems to be like a great person and she’s her step-aunt.
Doug just blushed at her question.
Evie: Evie. Evil Queen’s daughter.
Doug: Okay. So about your classes, I, uh, put in the requirements already- history of woodsmen and pirates, safety rules for the internet, and, uh, remedial goodness 101.
“That seems a little targeted,” Aladdin whispered to Eugene. The two thieves were the odds out of all the princes. Luckily, Belle created this group for people who married into royalty or didn’t know they were royalty to help each other. The two both got the idea to have Mal join, at least for one meeting since they don’t want to pressure her.
Mal: Let me guess. New class? Come on, guys, let’s go find our dorms.
The guys chuckled at how lovestruck Doug looked as Evie passed by him.
Doug: Oh, uh, yeah, your dorms are that way, guys. Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and…
Carlos: Sneezy.
The royals looked at Carlos. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, “I really like history class plus all the villains rant about the heroes.
Evie: Wow. This place is so amaz-
Mal: Gross.
“Excuse me?!” Audrey said, offended.
Mal just rolled her eyes and continued watching.
Evie: I know, right? Amazingly gross. Ew.
Malinda smiled at her best friend’s face. She knew how much Evie loved the room.
“Do you always do what Mal says?” Macaria asked Evie.
“It’s just easier on the Isle,” Evie answered.
“But you’re not on the Isle anymore,” Herkie said.
“You can have your opinions, E,” Mal smiled, knowing her best friend.
Mal: Ugh! I’m going to need some serious sunscreen.
Evie: Yeah.
Mal: E. Whew! That is much better.
“Well now I know what to do for the next group of kids,” Ben said.
“You want to bring more?!” Chad, Audrey, and Leah all said.
“Yes, I do,” Ben confidently said. “Do we?” Ben asked his older self.
Benjamin nodded and said, “Evie and Mal help who deserves to get off the Isle.”
“But all kids-“
“Not all kids, Ben,” Malinda said. “Some kids are actually evil and want to hurt people.”
“Really? Who?” Melody asked.
“Freddy Frollo and his group of Angels, except for his sister, she’s alright-“ Malinda said but got cut off.
“I’m sorry, Claude Frollo had children! He’s like a billion years old!” Lonnie exclaimed.
“Yeah, we don’t want to think about it either,” Carlos said, getting the chills of even the thought of who in the world would want to reproduce with Claude Frollo, twice.
“Shall we continue?” Clotho asked, noticing how the conversation was still going on. She didn’t mind they were talking but she rather continued going on and not getting caught up in the fact Claude Frollo.
Everybody nodded and the next scene began to play.
Chapter 5: Wand Heist & Evil Like Me
Chapter Text
Carlos: Whoo! Whoa! Ah!
“Carlos and his video games,” Malinda said, shaking her head with a smile. She’s really proud of how much he has come out of his shell when they first arrived in Auradon.
Carlos: Whoa!
Mal: Jay, what are you doing?
“Having a tea party,” Jay deadpanned. Mal just rolled her eyes.
Jay: It’s called stealing.
“I don’t even know why you’re asking that question. I mean what else would I be doing,” Jay said.
Mal: Okay, what’s the point?
Jay: Well, Mal, it’s like buying whatever I want, except it’s free.
Mal: Okay. So, you could do that, or you could leave all of this here and pick it up when we take over the wand.
Evie: You sound just like your mom.
“Is that really a compliment?” Melody asked.
The VKs nodded.
“If someone compares you to your parent then you’re just as evil as them,” Evie explained.
Mal: Thank you.
Jay: You do it your way and I’ll do it mine.
Carlos: Die, suckers! Jay, come check this thing out. Man, it’s awesome.
Mal: Guys! Do I have to remind you what we’re all here for?
Jay: Fairy Godmother, blah, blah, blah. Magic wand, blah, blah, blah.
Everyone laughed, even under the circumstances the teens were in.
Mal: This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents. To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel. Yeah?
“She just wants her mother’s approval,” Rapunzel whispered to Belle, to which she sadly nodded.
“They all do,” Eugene whispered too, having heard his wife.
Ben slowly moved his hand towards Mal, seeing if she would let him hold her hand. Mal accepted and intertwined their hands. She would never admit this out loud, but she missed the feel of his hand in hers earlier.
Benjamin pulls his wife closer to him, he doesn’t care if the others see and figure out they’re still together. His focus is on making sure Malinda is comforted. She gives him a small smile and leans into his body and rests her head on his shoulder.
Jay, Evie & Carlos: Yeah.
Mal: Evie, mirror me.
Evie: Mirror, mirror on the- in my hand, where is Fairy Godmother’s wand… stand? There it is!
Carlos: Zoom out.
Evie: Magic mirror, not so close.
“Why did it go out so far that it shows the Earth?” Samatha asked.
Evie just shrugged her shoulders since she really didn’t know herself.
Evie: Closer. Closer. Closer.
Carlos: Can I go back to my game? I’m on level three.
The teens looked at Carlos.
“What?” he asked.
“That’s your main focus?” Elle asked. Carlos blushed from embarrassment, he was really excited to see new technology since he was only used to the ones on the Isle that he built.
“I’m sorry, you’re on level three?!” Chad exclaimed. “It took me the longest time to even pass level one!”
“Wow, I think that’s the nicest thing Chad has ever said about any of us,” Jay whispered to his friends. Carlos, Mal, and Evie all nodded.
Jay: Stop!
Mal: It’s in a museum. Do we know where that is?
“How would you guys know where that is, considering you four just got there?” Macaria asked.
Carlos: 2.3 miles from here.
All the royals stared at Carlos in shock.
“How did you do that so fast?!” Tristan asked in amazement.
Carlos shrugged and said, “I’ve always been fascinated in technology.”
Fairy Godmother took note to make sure she signs Carlos up for something along the lines of engineering.
Mal: Come on.
Everyone laughed as Carlos continued playing his video game.
Mal: Carlos!
Carlos: Coming!
“How did you guys even know where to go?” Aziz asked, the screen changing to the four at the museum.
“Carlos,” Evie, Mal, and Jay said at the same time.
Mal: Come on. Check your mirror.
Evie: Is my mascara smudged?
Mal: Yeah. And, hey, while you’re at it, why don’t you see if you can find us the wand?
“Mal, that is not something you joke about!” Evie said.
“Sorry, E,” Mal apologized.
Evie: Sure. This way.
Jay: That’s your mother’s spinning wheel?
Carlos: Yeah, it’s kinda dorky.
“It does look a little dorky without the green glow,” Aurora said.
Mal: It’s magic. It doesn’t have to look scary. Magic spindle, do not linger. Make my victim prick a finger.
Jay: Impressive.
Carlos: I got chills.
“Only you two could make fun of Mal like that and actually live,” Evie said, shaking her head.
Mal rolled her eyes and flicked the back of both heads.
Mal: Okay, you know what? Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my enemy off to sleep.
Leah pulled Audrey into her arms.
Mal: Not so dorky now, huh?
Mal had noticed all the questioning stares from the AKs.
“We don’t have locks on the Isle. Well, we do, it's just they don’t work,” Mal explained.
Jay: Stand back.
Mal: Make it easy, make it quick, open up without a kick.
Jay: Ahh!
“Payback,” Mal said.
Mal: Coming?
Carlos: Come on, Jay.
Jay: I’m good.
Carlos: Just trying to help.
Jay patted Carlos on the back to show gratitude.
Mal: Shh. Carlos!
Carlos: Coming.
Evie: So close. Upstairs.
“Oh no,” Fairy Godmother gasped at the sign of where they’re going.
Mal: Come on. Go, go, go, go. Up, up, up, up, up. Come on, guys. Almost there.
Evie: Yeah.
“Uh oh,” The adults all said.
“Why didn’t we have the exhibit covered since we learned those four were coming over?” Aladdin asked.
Evie: Mommy?
Jay: Killer.
Carlos: I will never forget Mother’s Day again.
The adults frowned at the descriptions and feared what happened on Mother’s Day for Carlos.
Jay: Well, the wand’s not here. Let’s bounce. Let’s go.
Maleficent: The future of the free world rests on your shoulders. Don’t blow it.
“Too much pressure on a young girl,” Elsa said, shaking her head.
Mal: Look at you, look at me
I don’t know who to be, Mother
Is it wrong? Is it right?
Be a thief in the night? Mother
Tell me what to do
Everyone looked at Mal in surprise.
“You had doubts that early?” Evie asked her best friend.
“Yeah, I mean you kept pushing us to stay focused. So we thought you really wanted to do it,” Jay said.
“Do any of you really want to steal the wand?” Lonnie asked.
The Core Four looked at each other and shook their heads all in unison.
“So we are choosing to be good, right?” Carlos asked his friends, making sure.
The other three chuckled and Mal said, “Yes, Carlos.”
The royals smiled, Ben looked at his girlfriend and her friends with a proud look.
“Oh, you can not tell me you all believe that!” Leah caterwauled.
“And why not?” Ariel questioned.
“They are planning to steal the wand! We are about to watch them steal it!” Leah accused.
“Queen Leah, we just saw them confess they don’t want to and they want to be good. And what we are about to watch is from the past, which means this already happened,” Fairy Godmother stated.
Evie: Mal, come on.
Leah screams when the Maleficent statue comes to life. Malinda and Mal covered their ears with how loud it was.
“Mother! Calm down!” Aurora commands.
Clotho casts a spell that shuts Leah up. Everyone appreciated it.
Maleficent: Don’t be so serious, darling. I’m sorry.
I was once like you, my child
Everyone in the theater jumped a little, completely didn’t expect Maleficent to start singing.
Maleficent: Slightly insecure Argued with my mother, too, thought I was mature
But I put my heart aside
And I used my head
Now I think it’s time you learned
What dear old mama said
“Did she just admit she’s old?” Emir asked.
Mal snorted in amusement.
Maleficent: Don’t you wanna be evil like me?
All the teens started laughing at the facial expression Mal on screen was making.
“Oh, just laugh it up! I would feel when a statue of your mother just magically came to life and started singing to you,” Mal said irritatedly.
Ben kissed her temple to calm her down and it worked just like magic. Mal’s cheeks turn a bright red.
Maleficent: Don’t you wanna be mean?
Don’t you wanna make mischief your daily routine?
Well, you can spend your life attending to the poor
But when you’re evil doing less is doing more
Don’t you wanna be ruthless and rotten and mad?
Don’t you wanna be very, very good at being bad?
Everyone blinked, not knowing what to do as Maleficent swung her specter around.
Maleficent: I have tried my whole life long
To do the worst I can
Clawed my way to victory
Built my master plan
Now the time has come, my dear
For you to take your place
Promise me you’ll try to be
An absolute disgrace
Don’t you wanna be evil like me?
“Mal, your mother is never allowed to dance ever again,” Akiho said, as screen Maleficent started to dance.
Maleficent: Don’t you wanna be cruel?
Don’t you wanna be nasty and brutal and cool?
“Yeah, I’m scarred for life now,” Evan said, as Maleficent did some kind of move as if she had a top hat then did the hang loose hand signal.
“Nalu is not gonna like Maleficent using that hand gesture unironically,” Elle said.
“Who?” Evie asked.
“Nani and David’s daughter,” Elle clarified.
Maleficent: And when you grab that wand that’s when your reign begins
“Yeah, this is totally a dream sequence of some sort,” Malinda said.
“I mean, yeah, but why just because you’re holding the specter?” Macaria asked.
“Yup, because if there’s one thing Maleficent loves more than herself, it’s her specter. Plus I can’t touch it,” Malinda said.
Benjamin rubbed her back where the evidence of what happens when she touches the specter.
Maleficent: Who wants an evil queen without a sack of sins?
“I need to bleach that out of my brain,” Rachel said.
Maleficent: Don’t you wanna be heartless and hardened as stone?
Everyone gagged as Maleficent licked her specter.
Maleficent: Don’t you wanna be finger-licking evil to the bone?
This is not for us to ponder
Meg and Hercules looked at each other when they saw the blue fire. They were definitely correct, Mal is Hades’ daughter.
Meanwhile, Mal hoped and prayed no one would ask about the blue fire meant or connect it to who it represents.
Maleficent: This was preordained
You and I shall rule together
Freedom soon regain
Mistress of the universe, powerful and strong
“I’m sorry, what was the point of doing that?! She literally could have walked to the opposite side!” Hyllus asked in disbelief.
Maleficent: Daughter, hear me
Help me, join me
Won’t you sing along?
Maleficent & Mal: Now we’re gonna be evil, it’s true
Never gonna think twice
Mal : And we’re gonna be spiteful
Maleficent: Yes, spiteful
That’s nice
In just an hour or two
Our future’s safe and sure
This mother, daughter act is going out on tour
If you wanna be evil and awful and free
Then you should thank your lucky star
Everyone shivered at whatever Maleficent just did with her hips.
Maleficent: That you were born the girl you are
The daughter of an evilicious queen
“I’m sorry, evilicious?” Ben and Belle both questioned.
“Villains love making their own words,” Mal said.
Benjamin was about to say something but Malinda interrupted. “Yes, yes, I know, Ben. It’s a sin to you and your mom.”
Maleficent: Like me!
Everyone in the theater didn’t know what to say at the end of that… interesting musical number.
“Can we all agree to never speak of that again?” Samatha asked. Everyone else nodded in agreement.
“Gotta admit she has a strong and powerful voice,” Ariel said.
Evie: Hey, I found the wand. Let’s go.
“You’re not gonna question why Mal was left behind that and just staring at the statues?” Aziz asked. Evie just shrugged.
“Well, that’s not creepy or anything,” Rowyn sarcastically said, as Mal turned back to her mother and saw it was back to being a statue.
Evie: Here it is.
Jay: Whoo!
“Tell me why neither the queen’s crown nor Maleficent’s specter was under that much security!” Malinda whispered to Benjamin, referring to when Audrey stole both items.
Mal: Jay, don’t!
“Too eager,” Eugene whispered to Aladdin.
Mal: Wait, no! No! Don’t!
“Does he listen to me?! No!” Mal said, shaking her head.
Core Four: Ah!
Carlos: A force field and a siren?
“Why aren't you using both hands to cover your ears if you have more enhanced hearing?” Benjamin asked, shaking his head.
Jay: That’s just a little excessive.
“Clearly not! To make sure you four keep out!” Audrey said.
Mal: Let’s go!
“How did he miss them!” Chad asked, as the security guard was trying to catch the culprits.
Evie: Hurry. Come on.
Carlos: Hello? Uh, uh, just give me one second. One second.
The royals looked at Carlos impressed. While Jay put him in a headlock and ruffled his hair.
Carlos: Uh, yeah, yeah. No, false alarm. It was a malfunction in the, uh, LM 714 chip in the breadboard circuit. Yeah. Okay. Say hi to the missus.
Mal: Carlos!
Carlos: You’re welcome.
Mal: Way to go, Jay! Now we have to go to school tomorrow.
“Quick question, who were you even talking to?” Lonnie asked Carlos. He just shrugged.
“That would be me,” Beast said. “I thought you were the best security guard we’ve ever had.”
Carlos blushed from his compliment. “Thank you.”
“Hi, Carlos,” Belle warmly smiled at the younger boy, referring to when he said hi to the missus.
“Hi,” Carlos awkwardly said but still returned the smile to the queen.
“I think it’s time for a break, shall we?” Clotho interjected.
Everyone nodded and got up from their seats and grouped up.
Chapter 6: Break #1
Chapter Text
Snow White and Florian started to make their way to Evie.
“Oh, your highnesses,” Evie said, slightly curtsying.
“Evie, you don’t have to do that,” Snow White gently reassured.
“You sure?” Evie asked.
“Yes, I’m sure,” Snow smiled. “I actually wanted to talk to you. I wanted to get to know my step-sister.”
“You do? But I thought-” Evie said but Snow White interrupted.
“Evie, I don’t blame you for anything our mother did, ok?” Snow White reassured. Evie nodded and smiled at the older woman.
“Oh, I almost forgot!” Clotho said and she cast a spell and two new people came in.
“Evie!” a girl called out. Soon, Evie was wrapped in a huge embrace.
“Dizzy!” Evie squealed, hugging the younger girl.
“Dizzy?” Ben questioned. His parents had pulled him and Mal, along with Malinda and Benjamin to talk in a corner.
“Daughter of Drizella Tremaine,” Mal clarified.
“Ben, my boy,” someone said behind the group.
The group turned and saw Maurice standing there.
“Grandfather,” Ben said, hugging the old man.
“Papa!” Belle said and hugged her dad.
“Oh, my Belle,” Maurice said. “What are we doing here?”
“We’re watching Ben and his friend’s past, present, and future,” Belle explained.
“Oh wow,” Maurice said, impressed. He looked and saw Benjamin and Malinda.
“Now, am I the only one who sees these two?” He asked, pointing between Benjamin and Malinda.
Benjamin chuckled and said, “Don’t worry, grandfather. Everyone in this theater can see us, you aren’t the only one. We’re from the future. To help distinguish us, you can call me Benjamin.”
“And I’m the older version of her,” Malinda said, pointing to Mal. “You can call me Malinda.”
“Well, hello,” Maurice greeted both Mal and Malinda.
“So what were you making this time? That blew up in your face,”. Chip asked.
“Ah, Chip, you know it takes lots of trial and error when getting inventions to work properly. But thank you for reminding me I have smoke on my face,” Maurice said, taking out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiping his face. Malinda lightly chuckled and everyone from the past looked at her questioning.
“That just reminds me of the first time I met you,” Malinda smiled.
“Me having something blow up?” Maurice chuckled.
“Yeah,” Malinda nodded. “Ben thought I would be running for the hills when we got there and something exploded.”
“I didn’t know!” Benjamin said.
“First, I’m not gonna be running at the sight of a little explosion. I grew up on the Isle, I’m used to things like that. Second, I made smoke bombs all the time so I’m used to things blowing up,” Malinda said.
Benjamin shook his head. “You’re going to be the reason why my blood pressure is so high.”
“You’re always saying that yet you have perfect health,” Malinda teased, she wanted to say her usual remark of how he says that when she’s pregnant but she didn’t in front of their past versions.
The grown-ups all gave each other knowing looks. Ben and Mal smiled, happy to know they were still on good terms.
“Are you two still together?” Belle bluntly asked.
Malinda and Benjamin stopped their banter and turned to look at her.
“Mom!” Ben said. Mal blushed, she always thought afterwards with the whole love poison situation they wouldn’t be together but seeing Malinda happy with Benjamin, maybe she has hope they’re still together.
“What? As your mother, I only want for you to be happy and I could clearly tell you’re happy with Mal,” Belle said.
“Plus, Mal will eventually meet Maurice and not even Audrey has met him. So obviously, there’s still something going on,” Chip added.
“So?” Mrs Potts eagerly said.
“Gods, why is my family so invested in my love life?” Ben mumbled and shook his head.
“Because they care about you and want to know if you’re still in a relationship with Mal,” Belle sassed.
“Have I mentioned I love your mom?” Malinda asked Benjamin. He chucked and wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him.
“Yes, mom. We are still together,” Benjamin answered.
“Sooo, dating, engaged, married?” Mrs Potts asked, even if she hasn’t seen the two together in the present time, she could still tell they are meant to be together.
“Alright everyone, please back to your seats so we can continue,” Clotho called out, interfering with them knowing Benjamin and Malinda’s relationship status.
As everyone was going back to their seats, Malinda, Belle, and Mrs Potts all fell into step.
“We’re married,” Malinda said, showing the two her ring. Belle and Mrs Potts squealed.
“I know I wasn’t the most supportive person when Ben first introduced you to us, but I can see how you two interact and I’m very happy for both of you,” Belle said.
“Don’t worry, I understand why it was shocking when Ben introduced us. I don’t blame you for being shocked. And thank you,” Malinda smiled.
Everyone took their seats. Dizzy sat next to Evie, which resulted in Carlos and Jay moving a seat over. Maurice sat with Belle, Beast, Chip, and Mrs Potts.
When everyone was situated and ready, the screen lit up with the next scene.
Chapter 7: Remedial Goodness 101 & Tourney Practice
Chapter Text
Fairy Godmother: If someone hands you a crying baby, do you, a: curse it, b: lock it in a tower, c: give it a bottle, or d: crave out its heart?
“To be honest, if someone did hand us a crying baby, it probably meant they didn’t want to care for them or they could barely take care of themselves,” Mal said.
“What do you mean?” Aurora asked.
Evie covered Dizzy’s ears since she’s still young and they want to protect her innocence.
“Basically on the Isle, we have all kinds of crews and gangs. The highest crew would get the first pick of food, so my mother being the ruler of the Isle, she would get the first pick. Along with Evil Queen, Jafar, Cruella, and us, and then it would continue who is the highest rank. But the kids that aren’t in crews, mostly the girls, would have to fend for themselves, and they would do this thing called flings for food. Anyways-” Mal explained before Malinda interrupts.
“Clotho, continue, please,” she said, she hates ruining the positive light the royals have.
Everyone from Auradon looked at the VKs in surprise. They weren’t expecting this and they’re afraid of what would have been revealed if Malinda didn’t intervene.
Evie took her hands off of Dizzy’s ears since she knew that conversation was over, at least for now.
Fairy Godmother: Evie.
Evie: What was the second one?
“How did you forget the options so quickly? They’re on the board as well,” Tristan asked, tilting his head.
“Evie, if you’re trying to impress Carlos or Jay, your standards have dropped majorly,” Mal said.
“Hey!” Jay and Carlos said.
“So one of you wants to date Evie?” Mal questioned.
“Ok, I see your point,” Jay said.
“What does that have to do with anything?” Snow White asked why Evie was acting dumb which somehow affects her dating standards being low.
“Because my mom has always taught me a prince wouldn’t want a girl that’s smart and only for her looks. That’s why she’s always having me look my best,” Evie explained.
All the women looked mortified at what the Evil Queen had been teaching her daughter. Mal wrapped an arm around her shoulders and Dizzy curled up to Evie’s side.
Fairy Godmother: Oh, okay. Anybody else?
“Oh Mal! That’s beautiful!” Rapunzel said as the drawing of the wand showed.
“Thanks,” Mal smiled.
“Ooo what kind of art do you like to do?” Rachel asked.
“Drawing and spray painting,” Mal answered.
“Have you tried painting with actual brushes? Because-“ Rachel said but got interrupted by her brother.
“Rach, I’m sure you and Mal can talk about art later, ok?” Evan said.
“Fine,” Rachel said, crossing her arms.
“Do we try painting?” Mal curiously asked her older self.
Malinda nodded, thinking about the art studio Ben had surprised her with.
Fairy Godmother: Mal?
Mal: C, give it a bottle.
Fairy Godmother: Correct. Again.
Carlos: You are on fire, girl!
Mal: Just pick the one that doesn’t like any fun.
“Oh! So, cursing, locking them in a tower, and craving out their heart, sound fun to you?!” Audrey accused.
“No, I wouldn’t do that to a baby, especially since they haven’t done anything but be born,” Mal said.
Jay & Carlos: Oh.
Evie: That makes so much sense.
Mal: Oh…
Jane blushes from embarrassment when she’s seen squealing past the VKs.
Fairy Godmother: Oh. Hello, dear one.
Jane: Hi. You need to sign off an early dismissal for the coronation.
Fairy Godmother: Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?
“How exactly would we remember her if we haven’t even met her yet?” Evie asked.
“Well, I thought you would have met her by then,” Fairy Godmother said.
“The only AKs we’ve met were Ben, Audrey, and Doug,” Mal said.
“AKs?” All the kids from Auradon.
“Auradon Kids,” Mal clarified.
Jane: Mom, no!
“Oh, I’m so sorry Pumpkin. I didn’t know,” Fairy Godmother said, hugging her daughter.
“It’s ok, mom,” Jane smiled, reassuring her mom.
Fairy Godmother: It’s okay. Jane, this is everyone.
Jane: Hi. That’s okay, don’t mind me. As you were.
“Don’t worry, Jane. You warm up to us soon,” Malinda smiled at the younger fairy. Jane returned the smile.
“Ooo Mal’s plotting something,” Jay announced, looking at Mal’s face on the screen.
Fairy Godmother: Ahem. Let’s continue. You find a vial of poison.
Everyone jumped in surprise at the sudden change in Fairy Godmother’s excitement.
Fairy Godmother: Do you, a: put it in the king’s wine, b: paint it on an apple, or c: turn it over to the proper authorities?
“D, beat Zevon up,” The VKs said.
“Zevon?” Elle asked.
“Son of Yzma,” Mal said.
Everyone from Auradon just stared at Mal.
“I'm sorry, Yzma had a child?!” Hyllus exclaimed.
“Actually, children. She has two,” Evie said.
“Yeah, we have no idea how that happened either. And we avoid thinking about it at all costs,” Carlos said.
“But yeah, he loves using potions,” Mal said.
“So do we like him or nah?” Melody asked.
“Nah, he has this weird obsession of liking Mal,” Jay said.
Ben couldn’t help but feel a tad jealous of the thought of this Zevon liking Mal.
“He does not like me!” Mal said.
“Yes, he does. He’s always talking about-“ Jay stopped mid-sentence since he didn’t want to corrupt Dizzy’s innocence, plus Mal and Evie would kill him. “Deflowering you.”
Mal and Malinda looked as if they were the urge to throw up from that thought.
“Oh, hell no! That will never ever happen!” Mal exclaimed.
“Over my dead body,” Benjamin quietly growled, wrapping his arm around Malinda.
Everyone looked disgusted and Clotho started the screen again.
Evie, Jay & Carlos: Oh!
A few of the kids chuckled at how Mal was the only one who wasn’t trying to get called on.
Carlos: Ooh- get off.
Fairy Godmother: Jay.
Jay: C. You turn it over to the proper authorities.
Carlos: I was gonna say that.
Jay: But I said it first. Come here!
Carlos: Ow!
Jay: Come on, who said it first? Who said it first?
“Mal, you look so unimpressed,” Lonnie chuckled.
“Because they always do this, as you saw in the beginning. Plus, they’re idiots,” Mal shrugged.
“Hey!” Jay and Carlos said.
“They remind me of Akiho and Emir,” Ben chuckled.
“Both insane?” Mal asked.
“Yup,” Ben said, popping the p.
Mal smirked at him and squeezed his hand, still in hold of hers.
Carlos: Ow! Stop! Ah!
Fairy Godmother: Boys! Boys! I am gonna encourage you to use that energy on the tourney field.
Carlos: Oh, no. That’s okay. Whatever that is, we’ll-we’ll pass.
Coach: Jay, Ben, offense. Chad, you’re defense. Taylor, you’re the shooter.
Taylor: Right, coach!
Coach: Hey. Hey! Hey, you. Lost boy! Put your helmet on. Get out of the kill zone! Come one.
Carlos: Kill zone? Wha…
Coach: Pick it up. Put it on! Two hands.
“Did anyone even explain the rules to them?” Lonnie asked.
“Ben did, but still kinda confusing,” Carlos said.
Everyone watched tourney practice, the players watching to see what they could improve on.
Jay: Ahh!
“As you can see, Jay is our muscle,” Evie said.
Carlos: Jay, it’s me! It’s Carlos! Wait, stop. Jay, stop! No, no, no, no. No!
“Jay!” Mal glared at the older boy. “What the hell! You are supposed to protect Carlos! You know, protection in numbers! That is not protecting!”
“Younger me, calm down. Don’t worry, I gave Jay a long talk about this,” Malinda said.
Jay: Ahh! Oh, yeah! Come on, let’s go! Oh! Whoo! Whoo, whoo! Oh! Oh!
Random guy: What just happened? Who is this guy?
Malinda snorted and smiled at the look of Ben’s hair from taking off his helmet.
Coach: You! Get over here! What do you call that? I call that raw talent. Come find me later. I’ll show you something you haven’t seen before. It’s called a rule book. Welcome to the team, son.
“Wow, there hasn’t been a new member for a long time,” Aziz said.
Coach: You ever thought about band?
“Nah, he’ll do better in technology and engineering,” Malinda said.
Ben: I’ll work with him, coach.
Carlos gave Ben a smile and said, “Thanks, Ben.”
“Of course,” Ben said, returning the smile.
Coach: All right. Let’s run that again.
Jay: Whoo!
Jay: I’m rotten to the core
Chad: Ow.
Chapter 8: New Hair Jane
Chapter Text
“Not surprised,” Emir whispered to Akiho, as Chad and Audrey came on screen laughing about something. Everyone knew Chad had strong feelings for Audrey and would do anything she says.
Chad: I know. I know. Those kids are trouble.
“How are they trouble? I mean, no one knew about stealing the wand and they haven’t done anything else,” Tristan.
“Could you and Evie hear the conversation?” Ben asked.
“Bits and pieces,” Mal said.
“You know if you’re going to talk bad about someone maybe not do it when they’re literally a few feet away from you,” Hyllus said.
“Something you would like to tell us, Hyllus?” Meg asked, raising an eyebrow.
“No, mom!” Hyllus quickly said.
Evie: Bye, Mal.
Mal: Bye.
Ben: Come on, Chad. Give them a chance.
Audrey: Oh.
Everyone seemed to notice the very obvious space between Ben and Audrey when they grabbed each other's hands.
Audrey: No offense, Bennybear, but you’re just too trusting. Look, I know your mom fell in love with a big nasty beast who turned out to be a prince.
Everyone looked at Audrey in shock.
“Audrey!” Aurora said horrified.
“You apologize to the king and queen right this instant,” Phillip sternly said.
“My apologies,” Audrey quietly said.
“You’re grounded for two weeks,” Audrey said.
“Now, Aurora-” Leah was about to say but Aurora interrupted.
“Mother, I do not any help from you for disciplining my own daughter,” Aurora said.
Audrey: But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy. That girl’s mother.
“Maleficent wasn’t always evil. Evil is made. Maleficent became evil because she was betrayed by her love interest, who actually was King Stefan, by burning her wings off with iron so he could become king. The anger from that turned her heart black and wanted her revenge so she put the curse on Princess Aurora,” Lachesis informed.
Everyone was shocked about the information the past fate just dropped.
“People make bad choices if they're mad or scared or stressed,” Akiho sang.
Ben: I think you’re wrong about them. I’ll see you later.
Everyone smirked at how close Ben stood at Mal’s locker.
Ben: Hey!
Mal: Hey
“Notice how closer they’re standing,” Aziz said, the teens nodded. Ben and Mal blushed.
Ben: How was your first day?
Mal: Super.
Ben: You should really think about taking this talent off the locker and into art class.
“Was that your way of asking nicely to clean off the spray paint considering it could be vandalism?” Malinda asked, looking at her husband with a raised eyebrow.
“No, I just gathered you like to do art and I thought I might offer,” Benjamin said.
“Uh-huh,” Malinda said.
Ben: I could, uh, sign you up. What do you think?
“That’s some strong eye contact right there,” Macaria said.
Mal: Way to take all the fun out of it.
Ben: Huh.
Everyone looked at Ben as the screen showed Ben leaning against the lockers after Mal left.
“Dude! You are so whipped for her!” Tyrone said.
“No wonder you kept singing your love for her was ridiculous,” Evan said.
At this point, Ben was pretty sure he was going to have a permanent blush to his cheeks.
“Aww Bennyboo, you’re so in love with me,” Malinda teased, fluttering her eyelashes.
Benjamin rolled his eyes and captured his lips with hers so she’d stop talking.
What he completely forgot was he was in a room full of the past versions of his friends, their parents, and his family, who have no idea they were married.
When they broke apart, Malinda had a smirk still on her face. “See you’re so in love with me.”
“Holy shit!” The AKs said.
“I forgot they were here,” Benjamin said, looking at how everyone was shocked, except for Belle and Mrs Potts who had the biggest grins on their faces.
“Yay! Mal found her prince,” Dizzy clapped, happy for the older girl.
“No! Ben is supposed to be mine! I was supposed to be queen,” Audrey fumed.
Clotho casts the same spell she did earlier on Leah to Audrey so she’ll stop talking and they can continue.
Mal: Hi! It’s Jane, right?
Mal winced at the reminder of this moment. “I’m really sorry Jane.”
“It’s okay, I understand now,” Jane smiled.
Mal: Ah, always loved that name. Jane.
Jane: That’s cool.
Mal: Don’t go!
“Uh, Mal, I think you’re scaring her,” Carlos said.
Mal: I guess I was just kind of hoping to make a friend.
“We actually become really great friends,” Malinda smiled.
“Really?” Jane asked.
“Yeah, we help each other with magic and you know stick together when someone is always saying we’re short,” Malinda said, at the end, she gave Jay a hard stare.
“You are!” Jay replied.
“Doesn’t mean you have to bring it up every second!” Mal said.
Mal: You probably have all the friends you need though, right?
Jane: Hardly.
All the AKs slightly looked down in shame. Fairy Godmother lightly gasped and pulled her daughter close to her.
Mal: Really? I mean, with your mom being Fairy Godmother and headmistress.
Before anyone could comment, Mal said, “Yes, I know Jane isn’t her mom and that shouldn’t reflect onto her. But I was also born and raised on an island where being compared to your parents was a compliment.”
Mal: I mean, not to mention your own, um… personality.
Jane: I’d rather be pretty. You’ve got great hair.
“Oh, Janey. You’re beautiful just the way you are,” Fairy Godmother. Everyone nodded in the theater.
“Yeah! You got this sweet innocent look to you!” Dizzy said.
“Thanks,” Jane blushed.
“Are we sure Mal has great hair? I mean, have you seen your split ends?” Evie said.
“Evie!” Mal said, turning to her best friend. “Leave my split ends alone!”
“Well, clearly you listen to me since your older self doesn’t have them anymore!” Evie said, pointing to Malinda.
“You can thank Dizzy,” Malinda smiled.
Dizzy squealed and ran up to Malinda and hugged her.
“Wait, does this mean Dizzy comes to Auradon?” Evie asked.
“Yeah, she’s in the next batch of kids,” Benjamin answered.
Dizzy went back to her seat and tackled Evie in a hug, happy to join Evie in Auradon.
Mal: You know what? I have just the thing for that. It’s right… Ah, here. Beware, forswear, replace the old with brand new hair. Oh, ah, ah!
“Why does Maleficent have a hair-changing spell?” Akiho asked.
Mal shrugged, “She wrote all the spells she could remember. She probably thought it would be useful if she wanted to disguise herself or something.”
Carlos slightly blushed at Jane’s new hair. He found her beautiful before but her new hair really suits her.
Mal: Wow! You almost don’t notice your… other features anymore.
Jane: Do my nose!
Fairy Godmother sighed, “That’s why I don’t want students to depend on magic. You would use it to change unnecessary things about yourself that don’t need changing. Because the way you look is so unique.”
Malinda slightly put her head down and played with fingers. She changed herself to be some perfect princess and wished she didn’t. Benjamin noticed and grasped her hand and rubbed soothing circles, knowing what she’s thinking about.
Mal: Oh, I can’t. I’ve been practicing, but you know, I can’t really do really big magic. Not like your mom with her wand. I mean, one swoosh from that thing and you could probably have whatever features you wanted.
Jane: She doesn’t use the wand anymore. She believes the real magic is in the books. And not the spell books, regular books with history and stuff.
“I might need to do a class where you practice magic so we don’t have any flare-ups,” Fairy Godmother said, referring to what Malinda mentioned earlier.
“It really helped me and I know it helped the others,” Malinda said.
Mal: What a rip.
Jane: Yeah.
Mal: You know, she used magic on Cinderella, who wasn’t even her real daughter. Doesn’t she love you?
“Sorry,” Mal winced.
Jane: Well, of course she does. It’s-it’s just, you know tough love. Work on the inside, not the outside. You know, that sort of thing.
Fairy Godmother sighed and brought Jane closer to her.
Mal: That’s the face!
Everyone jumped at the sound of Mal’s voice.
“What face?” Samatha asked.
Mal: Yeah, and then just look as if your-your heart is about to break. “Oh, mother, I just understand why you can’t make me beautiful, too.”
Jane: Think it would work?
Mal: Yeah. I mean, that’s what old Cindy did, right?
“Old Cindy, that’s new,” Cinderella lightly chuckled.
Mal: And your mother bibbidi-bobbidi-booed the living daylights out of her.
Mal smiled, seeing the laugh she got out of Jane.
Mal: And, hey, if your mom does decide to, you know, break out the old wand, invite me.
Jane: If I can convince mom, you’re so there.
Mal: Yay.
Jane: Bye.
Mal: Bye.
“How did you not notice what she was doing?!” Audrey asked. “It’s so obvious!”
“I mean, you didn’t notice anything earlier when she was talking about wands,” Lonnie pointed out.
“Yeah, plus it kinda makes sense why Mal would be interested in wands anyway,” Melody said.
“Makes sense!” Audrey asked. “How does it make sense?!”
“She has magic, duh,” Elle said.
“And she’s part fairy,” Herkie added.
“Hmph,” Audrey said and crossed her arms. She couldn’t believe how everyone was believing the VKs. They’re villains and should be on the Isle, where they belong.
Chapter 9: Chemistry Class & Meeting Dude
Chapter Text
“Chard Charming, are you looking over at someone else’s work?” Cinderella warningly asked, raising her eyebrow. Everyone picked on the tone where you have to carefully pick the words you’re about to say.
“O-of course not, mom,” Chad nervously said.
Evie: Any chance he’s in line for a throne? Anywhere in line?
“Evie, I mean with all due respect, you can do so much better!” Rachel said.
Doug: Chad. Prince Charming, Jr. Cinderella’s son. Chad inherited the charm, but not a lot of there there, know what I mean?
The teens burst out laughing.
“Oo, I like you,” Jay said.
“Excuse me! What is that supposed to mean?!” Chad said, offended.
Doug sank in his seat, embarrassed. Plus he doesn’t know what Chad would do and he doesn’t want to find out.
“Why the fuck is he looking like that whilst staring off into space?” Emir whispered to Akiho, who snorted.
Evie: Looks like there there to me.
Mr Delay: Evie. Perhaps this is just review for you. So tell me, what is the average atomic weight of silver?
Jay, Carlos, and Mal snorted.
“Please, we never learned anything like that,” Mal said.
“So what did you guys learn?” Ben asked.
Mal raised an eyebrow and looked at her boyfriend with a blank stare. “They taught us how to be evil.”
“Let’s see, we had Weird Science, Selfishness 101, Advanced Vanities, Wickedness, Evil Schemes and Nasty Plots, Enrichment, Unnatural Biology, P.E, Orchestra, Scheme Management 101, Artists and Thieves, History of the Wharf, Tall Tells and the Tellers Who Tell Them, and Underwater Science,” Jay listed.
“Who even teaches those?” Samatha asked.
“Dr Facilier is the headmaster, Yen Sid teaches Weird Science, Lady Tremaine teaches Evil Schemes and Nasty Plots, Mother Gothel teaches Selfishness 101, Gaston teaches P.E, Queen of Hearts teaches Advanced Vanities, Madam Mim teaches Scheme Management 101. The rest I have no clue, to be honest,” Carlos said.
The respective heroes of those villains were beyond shocked. They didn’t think they would be any kind of teacher.
“I’m sorry but who even knows the atomic weight of silver from the top of their head?! Not even Doug knows that!” Malinda said. “Wait, do you know?” she asked Benjamin.
Benjamin scoffed and said, “Oh gods, no. I never did chemistry.”
“Really? Huh, I always thought you did every class they offered,” Malinda said.
Benjamin just rolled his eyes and shook his head at his wife.
Evie: Atomic weight? Uh, well, not very much. I mean, it’s an atom, right?
“Cheater,” Chad coughed when screen Evie pulled out her mirror. He wasn’t secretly as he thought and got a warning look from both his parents.
Evie: Let’s see. How do I find the average atomic weight of silver? That would be 106.905 times .5200, plus 108.905 times .4800
“Oh goodie, Evie is going to join the girls who do Chad’s homework,” Rachel whispered to her sister. Rowyn nodded, she knew Chad did it to Rachel, but luckily never to her.
Evie: which, Mr Delay, would give us, 107.9 AMU.
Doug: “AMU”?
Mr Delay: I forgot. Always a mistake to underestimate…
Evie: A villain? Don’t make it again.
Samantha patted Doug’s back in sympathy, knowing it probably hurt him seeing Chad get Evie.
Ben: Okay, Carlos, we’re gonna do some sprints. You ready?
Carlos: Oh! Ah!
“Ben!” Mal exclaimed, turning to her boyfriend. “How did you not notice Carlos screaming?!”
Ben awkwardly chuckled and his cheeks bright red from embarrassment. “Ok, in my defense, I didn’t know Dude there and I didn’t know Carlos had a fear of dogs.”
Malinda lightly whacked the back of Benjamin’s head.
Carlos: No, wait!
Ben: Sweet!
Mal gave Ben a look and he just returned a sheepish glance.
“Younger me, just whack him in the back of his head. That’s what I do,” Malinda said.
“Why would you tell her that?” Ben groaned as Mal whacked him.
“Because,” Malinda smiled.
“You’ll get used to it,” Benjamin said.
Carlos: NO! AH!
Ben: Carlos? Carlos!
“Finally!” Mal said, letting out a sigh.
Carlos: No, stop!
Ben: Carlos!
Carlos: Ben? Ben?
Ben: Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Carlos: Ben, help me! That thing is a killer! He’s gonna chase me and rip out my throat. That is a vicious, rapid back animal!
Ben: Hey, who told you that?
Carlos: My mother.
“So like, who else kinda wants to have a serious talk with Cruella? For traumatizing Carlos,” Herkie said.
Basically everyone in the theater raised their hands.
“Guys, it’s ok. Really,” Carlos said. “I have Dude now.”
Ben: Cruella?
“Who else would he be talking about?” Rowyn obviously asked.
“Never thought Ben would be a slow learner,” Emir teased.
Ben rolled his eyes at one of his best friends.
Carlos: She’s a dog expert. A dog yeller.
“Dog yeller?” Belle painfully asked.
“It’s like a baby whisperer but for dogs,” Carlos said.
Carlos: Why are you holding him? He’s gonna attack you!
Ben: Carlos, you’ve never actually met a dog, have you?
Carlos: Of course not.
Ben: Dude, meet Carlos. Carlos, this is Dude. He’s the campus mutt.
“Why do we even have a campus mutt?” Samatha asked.
“Because Lady and Tramp had too many pups in their litter so they donated some to other families and one was donated here, who is Dude,” Fairy Godmother said.
Carlos: He doesn’t look like a vicious, rapid pack animal. Jeez. You’re a good boy, aren’t you?
Everyone smiled at the interaction between the boy and the dog.
Carlos: You’re a good boy.
Ben: I guess you guys have it pretty rough on the island.
“You can say that,” the VKs sadly said.
Carlos: Yeah. Let’s just say we don’t get a lot of belly rubs.
Ben: Good boy.
Everyone in the theater burst out laughing.
Ben: I mean, you’re a good runner. You’re- you’re fast, you know.
“Oh Bennyboo,” Mal laughed, shaking her head.
Carlos: Oh. Yeah. Thank you.
Ben: Yeah. Listen, I’m gonna give you guys some space, yeah? You guys get to know each other and just, you know, come find me when you’re done, okay?
Carlos: Okay.
Ben: I’ll see you later.
Carlos: See you out there.
Carlos hugged Dude to his chest.
Carlos: Hi. Hi. Oh! Thank you.
Everyone smiled at the soft scene of Carlos and Dude.
“Thanks, Ben,” Carlos thanked.
“Happy to help,” Ben smiled.
Chapter 10: "Boyfriends are overrated"
Notes:
one of my fav Mal quotes
Chapter Text
Chad: Is everybody at home as pretty as you?
Evie: I like to think I'm the fairest of them all. How many rooms in your castle?
Chad: Oh! Too many to count.
“Poor Evie,” Rowyn whispered, as Evie leaned in to kiss Chad but he interrupted by saying something.
Chad: You really nailed that chemistry problem today. You’re gonna have all nerds in love with you.
Evie: I’m not that smart!
“Cut yourself some slack, E,” Mal said.
Chad: Oh, come on.
Evie: No, really, I’m not. But I’m-I’m really good at sewing and cooking and cleaning. You know, like your mother, Cinderella, without the ratty dress.
“Sorry,” Evie winced.
“It’s ok, sweetheart,” Cinderella smiled reassuring the young girl.
Evie: See this? If I ask it where something is, it tells me.
“Evie!” Mal exclaimed, turning to her bluette friend. “Why would you tell him that?!”
“I don’t know, it sorta just happened,” Evie sheepishly said.
Chad: Are you kidding me?
Evie: No.
Chad: Where’s my cell phone?
“Chad Charming, you do not grab things like that out of people’s hands!” Cinderella scolded her son.
“You lost another cell phone?” Henry raised an eyebrow.
Chad knew he was in trouble big time when this was over.
Evie: It won’t work for you, silly.
“Plus, you know, you’re using it wrong,” Carlos pointed out.
Chad: No biggie. My dad will just get me a new one.
Cinderella and Henry looked at each other, this was not the way they taught their son how to behave.
Evie: Prince Charming.
Chad: Yeah.
Evie: And Cinderella.
Chad: Yeah.
Evie: Fairy Godmother. Hey, I heard her wand is in some boring museum. Do they always leave it there?
Chad: I’d really like to talk, but… I’m just swamped.
“That was so dramatic,” Lonnie snorted.
Chad: Unless…
Evie: Unless?
“Chad, what are you thinking of doing?” Henry warned his son. Chad sank into his seat.
“Here it comes,” Rachel whispered to her sister. Rowyn wrapped an arm around her older sister.
Chad: If you could knock all my homework out along with yours, then maybe we could get together sometime… hang
All the adults and the male teens stared at the screen in shock.
“Chad Marcus Charming! How long have you been doing this?”
“How many girls have you done this to, mister?” Henry asked.
“Most of the girls in the school,” Rachel answered.
Everyone looked at Rachel before turning back to Chad.
“She’s lying,” Chad accused.
“No, she’s not! He promises a date with the girl if she does his homework but he never does it!” Elle said.
“We will be talking more about this later,” Cinderella warned.
“And Fairy Godmother would be reassigning all the work you made those girls do,” Henry said.
“But the work is already done!” Chad said.
Henry and Cinderella glared at their son, warning him to not dig himself deeper in the hole he’s already in.
“How did you guys not tell the difference between the handwriting?” Mal asked, pointing out.
“Nowadays our assignments have been on computers but we will definitely be looking closer at the handwriting,” Fairy Godmother said.
Evie: Okay.
Chad: Thanks babe.
Evie: Yeah. Bye.
Doug: I couldn’t help but overhear-
Evie: Are you stalking me?
Doug: Technically… yes. I, too, have a fascination with Fairy Godmother’s wand. Which is another reason I look forward to the coronation. Perhaps we could sit next to each other and discuss its attributes.
Evie: Are you saying they use it in the coronation?
Doug: Yes. And asking you out.
“Sorry,” Evie apologized to Doug, she never noticed Doug’s feelings towards her.
“It’s okay,” Doug smiled, reassuring the girl.
“Hey Malinda,” Samatha innocently said.
“What is it?” Malinda chuckled.
“Do Doug and Evie get a date?” Samatha giddily asked.
“Samatha!” Snow White said, not expecting her daughter to straight up ask that type of question. Even if she was curious herself, her step-sister and the boy she considers her nephew deserve to be happy.
“They do,” Malinda smiled.
“Eee!” Samatha and Dizzy squealed.
Dizzy tackled Evie in a hug, happy for her older sister for getting her own happily ever after.
Evie and Doug both blushed at the news being revealed.
Jane: Mom said, “if a boy can’t see the beauty within, then he’s not worth it.”
“She's not wrong though, dearie. That is very good advice,” Mrs Potts said.
Jane: Can you believe that? What world does she live in?
Mal: Auradon.
The teens snorted at Mal’s deadpanned response.
Evie: Mal, do you like?
“Evie, that’s beautiful,” Snow White complimented.
“Thanks,” Evie smiled.
“If you want, I could give you my old mannequins I had while I was stuck in my tower,” Rapunzel offered.
“Really? Thank you!” Evie beamed.
Mal: Yeah. It’s cute. It brings out your eyes.
“Hey, Mal is getting better at compliments,” Jay said.
Mal glared at the older boy.
Evie: I know.
Jane: I’ll never get a boyfriend.
“Never say never,” Malinda smirked.
Jane looks at her in surprise. “Really! Who?”
“You’ll just have to wait and see,” Malinda smirked.
Mal: Boyfriends are overrated.
Ben and Benjamin both sent a raised eyebrow look at their respective Mal.
“I don’t mean it now!” Malinda said.
“Good,” Benjamin said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
Evie: And how would you know, Mal? You’ve never had one.
Ben beamed at the thought of being her first boyfriend. Mal smiled and shook her head at him.
Mal: It’s cause I don’t need one, E. They’re a waste of time.
Evie: I forgot to do Chad’s homework.
Cinderella and Henry sent a disappointed look at their son.
Evie: Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no.
Mal: And that is exactly what I mean.
“Well, not all guys are like that,” Akiho said.
Lonnie: Hey, guys! I’m Lonnie.
“I finally appeared!” Lonnie exclaimed. Mulan and Shang chuckled at their daughter.
Lonnie: My mom’s Mulan?
“We know who your mom is. She’s one of the few that the Isle respects,” Carlos said.
“Well, except for Shan Yu but still,” Jay said.
Lonnie: No? Anyways, I love what you’ve done with Jane’s hair. And I know you hate us, and, well, you’re evil. But do you think you could do mine?
Mal: Why would I do that for you?
Lonnie: I’ll pay you 50 dollars.
“You could just go to a hair salon,” Audrey said.
“That would have been hundreds of dollars while I only paid 50,” Lonnie said.
Evie: Good answer. I need to buy more material. Let’s see, I’m thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights.
Lonnie: Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Mal’s.
Evie: Really? The split ends, too?
“Again, with my split ends!” Mal said.
“I’ll stop mentioning them when you do something about it,” Evie said.
Mal: Okay… Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair.
Evie: I know. I know. It looks like a mop in your head. You know what? Let’s cut it off, layer it-
Lonnie: No, no, no, no, no, no! I love it.
Evie: You do?
Lonnie: It’s just… Now I’m cool.
“You know, you didn’t have to rip your skirt to say you're cool,” Dizzy said.
Lonnie just shrugged.
Mal: Like ice.
Jane: What did I just do? Mom’s gonna kill me!
Chapter 11: Jersey #8
Chapter Text
Coach: I could really use a tough guy like you. The team’s a bunch of princes if you know what I mean.
Jay: You’re telling me. It’s all, “after you, old chum. Oh, pardon me, did I bump into you?”
“We do not act like that,” Chad said, offended.
“Uh-huh,” The VKs said.
“Was it like that?” Malinda asked.
“Nah, we all knew we would bump into each other and fight against each other,” Benjamin said.
Jay: Where I come from it’s, “prepare to die, sucker!” As my father says, “the only way to win is to make sure everyone else loses!
Coach: Jay! Jay, Jay, Jay!
Jay: You rip-”
“Uh, I’m not too sure if I want to know what the rest is,” Aladdin said. Jasmine, Aziz, and Emir nodded.
“Sorry,” Jay sheepishly said.
Coach: Uh, it’s like a family.
Jay: You do not want to be at my house at dinnertime.
“You don’t want to be at any of our houses at dinnertime,” Carlos said.
“Or any time for that manner,” Mal said.
The royals’ hearts ached for the VKs.
Coach: Okay, okay, um… You know how a body has a lot of different parts? The legs, elbows, ears. But they all need each other. Well, that's what a team is: different players who work together to win. Make any sense?
Jay: Can I be the fist?
“Of course, you would ask that,” Carlos said, shaking his head.
Jay pulled Carlos into a headlock and gave a noogie.
Everyone clapped when Coach held up Jay’s jersey.
“Nice job, Jay,” Aziz complimented.
“Thanks,” Jay said.
Jay: Yo-ho-ho!
Cinderella, Henry, and Fairy Godmother noticed Evie doing Chad’s homework and they would definitely be having a talk with him.
Jay: Hey! Did your plan work with Jane? Are you going over to see the wand?
The royals’ mood dampened the plan of stealing the wand brought up again.
Mal: Do you think I will be going through every single spell in this book if I haven't completely struck out?
Carlos: Oh, someone's in a bad mood.
Mal: My mom’s counting on me!
All the original princesses sighed, they all could see Mal just wants her mother’s approval.
Mal: I can’t let her down!
Jay: We can do this… if we stick together.
Mal: And we won’t go back until we do. Because we’re rotten…
All: To the core.
Benjamin chuckled, “You four still say that phrase to this day.”
Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos, all smile at that information, happy to know they’re still really good friends.
Evie: Oh, yeah. I found out that Fairy Godmother blesses Ben with the wand at coronation and we all get to go.
“You didn’t mention that beforehand?” Rowyn asked with a raised eyebrow.
“I got sidetracked,” Evie shrugged.
Evie: I have nothing to wear, of course.
“Who could that be?” Dizzy asked tilting her head to the side, when there was a knock on the door. “All the VKs are in the room and Lonnie and Jane left.
“You will just have to watch, Dizzy,” Evie said.
Evie: What?
Mal: Hold that thought.
“Not surprised,” Akiho said, as Mal opened the door and stood there was Ben.
Ben blushed while Audey scowled.
“Just curious, how long did it take you to get the courage to knock?” Malinda quietly asked Benjamin.
Benjamin blushed, “A few minutes.”
Malinda smiled and kissed his cheek.
Ben: Hey, Mal. I didn’t see you guys today. I was just wondering if you had any questions or anything… that… you needed.
“Oh, yes, Ben, you couldn’t have been more obvious,” Chip said. Belle, Beast, Mrs Potts, and Maurice smiled, while Ben blushed.
Mal: Not that I know of.
Ben: Okay. All right. Well, uh, if you need anything, just, uh…
“He takes after you, dearie,” Mrs Potts said to Belle. She smiled at that thought.
Mal: Oh, wait! Um, is it true that we all get to go to your coronation?
Ben: Yeah, the whole school goes.
Mal: Wow. That is beyond exciting. Do you think that it’s a possibility that the four of us could stand in the front row next to the Fairy Godmother, just so we could soak up all that goodness?
“Bennyboo, how are you this oblivious! She’s basically asking you to sit up front so she can steal the wand!” Audrey badgered.
Ben’s mood dampened at Audrey’s words but he hid it with a straight face. Mal noticed his mood changed and tightened her hand in his.
Malinda rubbed soothing circles on Benjamin, knowing it hurts him but luckily their Audrey is no longer like that.
Ben: I wish you could. Up front it’s just me, my folks, and my girlfriend.
Mal: And your girlfriend?
The Core Four froze, knowing what was about to be revealed. Mal slowly started to retreat her hand from Ben’s. He was confused of what was wrong but then it came to him, the love potion. He tightened and brought it to his lips and kissed her hand. Mal looked at him and he just smiled, hoping to reassure her.
“What is that supposed to mean? What did you do, witch?” Audrey accused.
Ben: Yeah, I’m sorry.
Mal: Okay. Thanks, bye.
Ben: Oh, but, no, there’s plenty of-
Everyone chuckled at Ben’s face when Mal closed the door on his face.
Mal: I think it’s time that Bennyboo got himself a new girlfriend.
“I mean she’s not wrong,” Akiho whispered to Emir, who nodded in agreement.
Mal: And I need a love spell.
Everyone froze. No one knew how to react to what was just revealed.
Chapter 12: Break #2
Chapter Text
“You bitch!” Audrey outburst. She was about to lunge to attack Mal but Phillip stopped her by wrapping his arms around his daughter’s waist.
Everyone stood up to get out of the way and out of harm. Ben pulled Mal towards him as a way to protect her.
“You stole my boyfriend, you little-” Audrey shouted but was cut off by her mother.
“Audrey, calm down!” Aurora said.
“Aurora, her boyfriend was spelled by this witch!” Leah said.
“Yes, but she is not allowed to attack her!” Aurora said.
Cinderella, Henry, and Fairy Godmother pull Chad away from the ruckus and into a separate room, where they talk about how long Chad has been using girls for homework.
“I knew she was trouble and we couldn’t trust them!” Leah said.
“You spelled Ben to destroy all of Auradon!” Audrey sneered.
“Well, why don’t you kiss him? Since you know, true loves kiss always works,” Evie said.
“Yeah! If you guys really love each other and are meant to be together, then it would work when you guys kiss,” Dizzy nodded.
Anyone paying attention to Ben would have noticed the look on his face that he did not want to kiss Audrey.
“Absolutely not! That is sinful behavior! During the courting phase, you don’t kiss without permission!” Audrey said.
“That just explains so much of you and Audrey’s relationship,” Malinda whispered to Benjamin. Benjamin sadly nodded and Malinda squeezed his waist in a loving and caring way that she understands.
“You two were already dating, how would that go against the courting phase?” Dizzy asked, confused.
“Also we live in the 21st century! Who still courts?!” Lonnie said.
“Mother, what have you been teaching my daughter?” Aurora asked her mother, knowing this just screams Leah.
“I’m teaching the important stuff she would need in her life! While if I let you, she would still be playing in the mud,” Leah said.
“She played in the mud because she was a child! I played in the mud as a child too-” Aurora said but got cut off by Leah.
“Yeah, because of her mother!” Leah points to Mal. “I would have taught you the same things but I couldn’t and missed it all!”
“Kinda glad you missed it all,” Aurora whispered. Yes, the reason why she had to grow up without her parents was because of poor circumstances, but if she hadn’t then she wouldn’t have met Phillip in the forest, even if they were betrothed.
“Ok, everyone, shut the fuck up,” Lachesis called out. “It’s done so you can't change the past let's move on.”
“Also Princess Audrey and Prince Ben were never true loves nor compatible with each other,” Clotho said.
Audrey and Leah turned to the present fate.
“What! But I was supposed to be the queen!” Audrey screeched.
“Notice how she never says wife, love, or anything like she genuinely wants to be with Ben,” Lonnie said, all the other teens nodded.
“Well then, he simply doesn’t have a true love if it isn’t Audrey,” Leah said.
Mal could tell on Ben’s face that he was genuinely hurt by their words, so she removed her hand from his and wrapped her arms around his waist and he put an arm around her shoulder, burying his face in her hair, matching their older selves.
“Actually you’re wrong, Prince Ben does have a true love, they've been compatible even before meeting one another,” Atropos informed.
That quickly got everyone’s interest.
“Who is it?” everyone asked at the same time, but there were different tones of how they asked.
Atropos turned and pointed to Malinda and Benjamin.
“Mal?!” Everyone screamed in shock.
“Wait, how are they compatible before meeting each other? Mal was on the Isle and Ben was in Auradon,” Chap asked.
“Should we tell them about our dreams?” Malinda asked.
“Dreams?” Belle asked with a raised eyebrow.
Mal and Ben blushed, they’d never told anyone about their respective dreams.
“Uhh, we can talk about it in another break,” Malinda said.
The Charmings and Fairy Godmother walked back in after finishing their talk.
“Let’s continue watching, shall we?” Clotho asked and everyone nodded as they got back into their seats.
Chapter 13: Single Tear of Human Sadness
Chapter Text
Mal: All right. It says that we still need one tear, and I never cried.
“Really? Like ever?” Samatha asked.
“You cry, you die,” all the VKs said.
The royals stared at them in shock.
“I’m afraid to ask what that means,” Beast said.
“Crying is a weakness on the Isle,” Malinda explained.
“Oh dearie,” Mrs Potts gasped, horrified.
Carlos: Let’s just chop up some onions.
A few chuckled at the sight of Dude in a bowl.
Mal: No. it says that we need one tear of human sadness. And this love potion gets the best reviews, so we have to follow it exactly.
“A love potion has reviews?” Akiho asked.
“More like comments from my mother,” Mal said.
“Ah, that makes more sense,” Akiho said.
Jay: A tear’s a tear.
“Well actually-“ Doug was about to explain but got cut off by screen Evie.
Evie: That’s not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear.
“Yeah, what she said,” Doug said, proud of Evie.
Mal: Listen to you.
Jay: Yeah, I knew that.
Carlos: Did not.
Jay: Yeah, I did.
“Please, there’s no way you could have known that,” Carlos said, rolling his eyes.
Jay fake gasps and dramatically puts a hand over his heart. “I’m wounded.”
Lonnie: There you are, Mal! I was looking for you.
“That’s not suspicious at all,” Elle sarcastically said.
Lonnie: You know, all the girls want you to do their hair!
“I just hoped you girls gave Mal a break in between, doing a lot of magic all at once could cause her health problems,” Fairy Godmother said.
Everyone grew worried, especially the girls who got their hair done by Mal.
“Were you ok?” Jane asked, looking at both versions of Mal.
Mal shrugged, “I had a slight headache and was tired for the rest of the day.”
“I already had health problems-” Malinda started but got interrupted.
“What?!” The royals yelled.
“Are you ok?” Belle asked, concerned.
Meg and Hercules knew considering she was part god, it couldn’t be life-threatening but still worried about what it could be.
Malinda didn’t want to talk about the food deliveries being rotten to them yet. “It was just the way I had to live on Isle, but I’m ok.” She gave the five VKs a look to not tell them about the garbage.
Lonnie: Midnight snack, huh? What you guys making?
Mal: Nothing special. Just cookies. Oh, no, no!
Carlos: Wait, wait, wait!
Audrey, Chad, and Leah look disgusted at the thought of dipping her finger in cookie dough, especially when villains are the ones who made it.
Lonnie: What? I’m not gonna double dip.
Evie: Feel anything?
“That might be suspicious,” Herkie said.
Mal: Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?
Jay: Hey, there.
“Wow, Jay, you're losing your touch since we’ve come to Auradon,” Mal laughed at Jay’s failed attempt at flirting with Lonnie.
Lonnie blushed. She didn’t notice he was flirting with her but felt a little sad that Jay could never fall for her.
Lonnie: It could use some chips.
Jay: Chips?
Everyone burst out laughing at how Lonnie basically rejected Jay.
Mal: And those are…
“How do you not know what those are?!” Akiho yelled. “Chocolate is the most important food group to ever exist.”
“There’s no chocolate on the Isle or sweets for that matter,” Jay stated.
The royals all looked physically hurt by that.
“Fates, we need to have them experience chocolate! It’s really important,” Akiho said, looking at the three Fates.
“He gets this from you, you know,” Kristoff told Anna.
“It’s not my fault I craved a lot of chocolate during my pregnancy,” Anna replied.
“I’m pretty sure your craving declined the chocolate supply in Arendelle,” Elsa said.
“Sounds like a certain person I know,” Benjamin whispered to Malinda. She rolled her eyes.
“That is not true!” Anna said. “I wasn’t that bad.”
“In the next break, food would be delivered,” Clotho told everyone.
“And you five would be trying chocolate,” Akiho said.
“Well, Carlos and Jay already tried chocolate in the limo,” Tristan noted.
Lonnie: Chocolate chip. Just the most important food group.
“Yes! Lonnie taught you well,” Akino said, wiping a fake tear.
Ben and Emir shook their heads in amusement at their best friend’s antics.
Lonnie: Wait, didn’t your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies?
“To be honest, if my mother ever did make me anything, I would be running far away,” Carlos said.
“I don’t have a mom,” Jay shrugged.
“My mother would have probably made them poisonous,” Mal said.
“My mother only cares about how I look,” Evie said.
“My mom wouldn’t, but Aunt Anastasia happily would partake, if we had the ingredients,” Dizzy said.
Lonnie: Like, when you’re feeling sad, and they’re fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and…
“Sorry guys,” Lonnie winced.
“It’s okay,” Jay said with a small smile, trying to cheer up the girl.
Malinda and Benjamin shared a smile.
Lonnie: Why are you all looking at me like that?
Mal: It’s just different where we’re from.
Lonnie: Yeah. I know. I just, you know, I thought… Even villains love their kids. Oh…
Ben squeezed Mal’s hand and she sadly smiled back at him. The VKs comforted each other, they had always wanted to believe their parents did love them, in their own way, but knew they really didn’t.
“We get to experience that feeling,” Malinda spoke softly.
“Really?” The VKs asked, couldn’t believe it. Malinda nodded in confirmation.
“But wait, with who?” Carlos asked, considering their parents are on the Isle.
“Cinderella and Anastasia do it with Dizzy,” Malinda starts.
Dizzy gasps, “Aunt Anastasia gets off the Isle?”
“She does,” Benjamin nods.
Dizzy squealed and Cinderella smiled, she gets a relationship with her step-niece and hopefully her step-sister.
“Anita does it with Carlos,” Malinda continued.
Carlos was shocked but couldn’t help but be happy with that information.
“Snow White does it with Evie,” Malinda said.
Snow White gives Evie a smile that she easily returns.
“Jasmine does it with Jay,” Malinda continued.
Jay was honestly shocked by that, while Jasmine smiled.
“Belle does it with me,” Malinda said. “And also mom,” she whispered so only Benjamin heard her, talking about Persephone.
Mal gives Belle a small smile, which Belle returns.
Ben smiles, happy to know his mom and Mal have a great relationship with each other.
“And you get to do with our kids,” Benjamin whispered to Malinda, who smiled. She was craving chocolate chip cookies a lot when she was pregnant with their son so their daughter got to help out when Malinda would make cookies.
“Tiana also makes sure all the VKs and the adults that came over are well-fed,” Benjamin said.
“Wait, adults?” Ben asked.
Benjamin nodded.
“Some of the villains and honestly most of the sidekicks, don’t deserve to be on the Isle,” Malinda said.
“They’re vill-“ Leah was about to rant but Lachesis cast a spell and duck tape covered Leah’s mouth.
Lonnie: How awful.
“You gave them the tear!” Audrey yelled.
“Well, sorry, I’m not completely immune to feelings like you are!” Lonnie snarked.
The kids tried very hard not to burst out laughing. The parents looked in shock, especially Mulan and Shang.
Mal: Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I’ll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams.
“Evil dreams?” Benjamin asked.
“It’s a saying,” Malinda defended.
Benjamin chuckled.
Lonnie: Good night.
Mal: See you tomorrow. Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, oven.
Evie: Yes, ma’am.
Chapter 14: Giving Ben the Cookie, Championship Game & Did I Mention
Chapter Text
Girl 1: Look, it's Mal.
Girl 2: Hi, Mal!
Girl 3: Love my hair, Mal!
Jay: Are you feeling kind of weird about this? I mean, it’s not so bad here, you know.
Everyone was slightly surprised that Jay started having doubts.
Mal: Are you insane?
Emir and Akiho chuckled at the sight of Ben just in the background.
Mal: Long live evil! You’re mean! You’re awful! You’re bad news! Snap out of it!
“Sorry Jay,” Mal winced.
“It’s okay, Mali,” Jay said, her old nickname slipping out without his notice.
Mal noticed and smiled at her older brother in everything but blood.
“See! She's a bad influence! She should be put back on the Isle!” Leah said.
“How did you escape my duct tape?” Lachesis questioned, before casting the spell again but stronger. The old woman keeps getting on the past Fate’s nerves so she has to shut her up.
Jay: Thanks, Mal. I needed that.
Audrey: Do you think they actually paid for those?
Jay: Oh, hello.
The VKs rolled their eyes as Jay went to flirt with the group of girls.
Jay: The name’s Jay. You all going to the tourney game tonight?
“The better question is who wasn’t,” Tyrone said.
Girls: Yeah.
Jay: Keep a lookout for number eight, all right? Scoring the winning goal.
“It’s so weird seeing Jay flirt with other girls now,” Benjamin commented.
“Eh, I’m used to it but yeah, it’s weird seeing Jay flirting with someone other than Lonnie now,” Malinda said.
“Hold up!” Aziz said.
“What do you mean Jay flirting with someone other than Lonnie?” Shang sternly asked.
Malinda and Benjamin look at each other, debating whether they should reveal the Cour Four’s relationships.
“It’s up to you,” Benjamin said.
“Jay and Lonnie are engaged,” Malinda admitted.
Everyone was shocked by the news. Jay and Lonnie blushed, refusing to look at anyone. Mulan and Shang were stunned but happy for their daughter, even if Shang wants to give Jay a stern talking to.
The VKs recovered and smirked at Jay, wiggling their eyebrows at the older boy.
“Don’t you three be talking! Malinda tell us about their relationships, please!” Jay said, failing at hiding his blush and wanting to move on.
“Three?” Dizzy, offended, she knew Jay was talking about Mal, Evie, and Carlos.
“Dizzy, you’re 12, none of us wants to think of you dating anyone since you’re like our younger sister,” Jay said.
Dizzy couldn’t help but smile at hearing Jay call her his younger sister.
“I’m honestly interested in who you all get paired up with,” Chip said.
“But we all kinda already know,” Evan said.
“Shush,” Emir said, looking at Malinda for her to tell them.
“Well, you already know about Jay and Lonnie. Carlos and Jane had just gotten married. Evie and Doug are married with a son. Then Ben and I are married with two kids,” Malinda said.
Jay, Lonnie, Carlos, Jane, Evie, Doug, Mal, and Ben all blushed about their relationship status.
Fairy Godmother smiled knowing her daughter found the right boy for her.
Snow White smiled, happy for her step-sister and her nephew.
Chip, Mrs Potts, Beast, Belle, and Maurice smiled, happy for Belle. Mrs Potts and Belle already knew the two were married but happy to know they have grandchildren. Mrs Potts has always seen Ben as another son so she’s happy for him.
Meg and Hercules smiled, happy for Mal.
“Also Dizzy is dating someone,” Malinda announced.
“What!” The older VKs asked, getting out of their shock.
Malinda chuckled as that is what broke them from their shock.
“Who is it?” Dizzy excitedly asked, bouncing in her seat.
“Valerie Rydinger-Parr,” Malinda smiled.
The older VKs were shocked but happy for Dizzy finding herself.
“Is she happy?” Evie asked.
“Oh, yeah. The times I’ve seen them they’re really cute,” Malinda said.
“Ugh! Can we please just continue so we can get this over with!” Audrey interrupted the happy moment.
Girls: Okay.
Audrey: She did it to Jane’s hair, too, and Fairy Godmother’s not happy about it.
“It’s not like I hurt her,” Mal said, rolling her eyes.
“How did you even find that out, missy? I’m pretty sure that would be classified information just for Jane and Fairy Godmother,” Phillip said.
Ben: What’s the harm?
A few snorted at Ben unbothered he was.
Audrey: It’s gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know, it’s the lips and the legs
“I’m just gonna take a wild guess here and say you heard the whole thing?” Benjamin asked his wife.
“Oh yeah, you guys weren’t that far away and she was practically yelling, plus you know, I have stronger hearing than the average person,” Malinda answered.
“So you were eavesdropping on a private conversation!” Audrey accused.
No one answered her and continued watching.
Audrey: and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then.. where will I be?
“Sounds insecure,” Lonnie commented.
The teens snorted.
Ben: Listen, Audrey…
Audrey: I will see you at the game after my dress fitting for the coronation, okay?
“You just interrupted him!” Chip said.
“Yeah! I’m pretty sure you don’t do that while in a relationship with someone!” Rachel said.
Aurora and Phillip look at each other, they will be grounding their daughter and talking to her about her behavior.
Ben: Okay.
Audrey: Bye, Bennyboo.
Ben: Bye.
“I'm curious what were you going to say before she interrupted you?” Malinda asked her husband.
“Oh, I was going to break up with her,” Benjamin announced.
Everyone looked at Benjamin stunned.
“He grew a spine!” Emir and Akiho cheered, got up, and started dancing.
“Guys!” Ben said, gaining his best friends' attention. They sat back down but it didn't wipe the huge grin off both their faces.
“I can’t believe you were going to break up with me! I’m supposed to be the queen!” Audrey said.
“See, you only care about the crown that comes with him. You don’t even see how miserable he is in the relationship,” Malinda stated.
“Says you! Spelling him to take over Auradon,” Audrey argued.
“Yes, but I fell in love with him, his character. His kindness for others, wanting to give the kids of the Isle a better chance, always seeing the good people, always being optimistic and happy, being a bookworm, and so much more,” Malinda confessed.
Ben’s cheeks were bright red from the blush. Same with Benjamin but his was more tame. Benjamin looked at his wife with heart eyes and a dopey smile.
“She’s a keeper,” Beast said. Belle nodded.
“You’ll see how fast Prince Ben’s whole entire attitude changed when he’s with Mal,” Clotho called out.
Mal: Hey, Bennyboo!
Ben: Hey.
Mal: I just made a batch of cookies.
Benjamin snorted. “Why did you only pack one?”
“Yeah, looking at it now it’s kinda weird,” Malinda said.
Mal: Double chocolate chip, do you want one?
“There’s only one in the bag,” Benjamin teased.
“Shush,” Malinda said.
Ben: Oh, I, uh. I’ve got a big game. I don’t eat before a big game.
“Did you least eat breakfast or even brunch?” Malinda asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes, don’t worry. Akiho came and got me to go get breakfast,” Benjamin said.
“Good,” Malinda said.
Mal: But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time.
“Gods, you’re too nice,” Mal said.
“Eh, he’s a people pleaser,” Malinda answered.
“I am not,” Ben said.
“Yes, you are,” Everyone deadpanned.
Mal: No, yeah. I completely understand. “Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains.”
Ben: No, no, no.
Mal: No, I’m sure every kid in Auradon knows that.
“Actually that wasn’t even a thing,” Rowyn said.
Ben: No, that’s not it. No, no, no, I… I really do…
“Yeah, I can see why you said he’s a people pleaser,” Mal agreed to what Malinda said beforehand.
Mal: No, I get it. You’re cautious. That’s smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess.
“Never thought I would see the day where Ben snatches something from another person’s hand,” Evan said.
“Real,” Macaria said.
Ben: No, no. Hey… see that. Totally trust you.
“And I do,” Ben said.
“So do you mean Mal or all of us,” Jay and Carlos laughed.
“I trust all of you,” Benjamin said.
“Oh, we know, we’re just teasing,” Carlos said.
Ben: Totally.
Mal: How are they?
Ben: They’re good. They’re great! They’re amazing! They’re, uh…
“I think I get the idea,” Mal teased.
Ben: I mean, they’re chewy and, and you know, they… is that walnuts? I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know, the… The chocolate… The… the chocolate… The chocolate chips are… I’m sorry. Um… Uh, they’re… They’re warm and soft.
“That was a lot for describing one cookie,” Tyrone teased.
Everyone laughed.
Ben: And they’re sweet…
“It looks like you three are creeping up on a prey,” Melody said.
The AKs laughed at the analogy.
Ben: Mal, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?
“I love your eyes,” Benjamin said.
“I’m pretty sure you have to like everything about me since you married me,” Malinda said.
“Hey! We have little golden specks in our eyes too!” Herkie excitedly said.
Mal awkwardly chuckled, hoping they wouldn’t figure out why she has them.
Jay: How are you feeling, bro?
Ben: I feel… I feel… I feel like… Like singing your name.
Mal, Mal
Everyone burst out laughing when Ben started to sing Mal’s name. Ben and Benjamin blushed from embarrassment.
When they were done laughing, they returned their attention back to the screen where the championship game began to play.
Crowd: Ohayohay!
Announcer: This is a nailbiter, folks. There’s 47 seconds left on the clock. We’re all tied up. The Sherwood Falcons, two. The Fighting Knights, two. What a game between Auradon’s fiercest rivals.
Jay: Get em’, Chad.
Chad: Thanks, Jay.
“How come you two can get along on the field but not in real life?” Hyllus asked, shaking his head.
Announcer: The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone.
Coach: Akiho!
Announcer: The dragonners have been laying down a withering hail of fire.
Coach: You’re up.
Announcer: And now a substitution…
Jay: Coach, how about my buddy here?
“He’s gonna cost us the game!” Chad said.
“Uh, Chad this has already happened and we won,” Emir said.
Carlos: Oh, no.
Coach: Now so sure about that.
Jay: Coach, he’s been practicing.
Carlos: Jay…
Jay: And you said yourself a team is made up of a bunch of parts.
Carlos: Jay, I’m not that good.
Jay: Well, he’s kind of like my brain.
“He’s all of our brains,” Evie said.
“Kind of?” Mal questioned. “Him and Evie are the brains of our group.”
Coach: Come here! You heard him. Get out there!
Jay: Don’t worry, bro. I got your back.
Carlos: How about my front?
Jay: Pfft. Get out there.
“Good luck!” Dizzy said.
Announcer: He’s bringing that hothead Jay in from the Isle of the Lost and little guy Carlos that can barely hold a shield.
“That’s rude,” Jane mumbled.
Auradon Knights: Break!
Announcer: When they break from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tipoff is ready. Here we go.
All the parents leaned forward in their seats, watching rapidly.
Announcer: Long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes to Prince Ben.
“Why isn’t he in some kind of booth, so he doesn’t get hit in the head?” Malinda asked.
Benjamin shrugged.
Announcer: Nice little block by Carlos. He does a little dancing jig in the opponent’s face.
Everyone chuckled.
Announcer: And now Jay gets the ball back. Here comes Jay! Jay, hurdling maneuver at the mid-field.
Ben: I’m open!
Announcer: Jay makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the kill zone.
Ben: Jay!
Announcer: Big block by Chad! Prince Ben moves over wide, gives it back to Jay. He’s in the clear! Shot! Oh, what a save by Philip the Falcons’ goalkeeper!
“No!” Everyone groaned.
Ben: Come on!
Jay: All right, all right, let’s do it!
Coach: Come on, guys! Come on, hustle, hustle!
Announcer: 23 seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword. The long ball is played into Jay. Jay, great jump, great leap. And a great move by Jay. Big block from Chad. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. And then Carlos with a big block, goes down. Jay through the kill zone, picks up Carlos. Oh, he’s being hammered by dragon fire. Still, going on. Jay, hurding maneuver at mid-field. He’s in the clear. The ball goes back to Jay.
Carlos: Hey, Jay!
Jay: Carlos?
Carlos: Go up! Ben!
Everyone leans in anticipation.
Announcer: He passes to Prince Ben. He scores!
Everyone got up and cheered.
“They are aware this already happened,” Tyrone said to his teammates.
“Poor Mal,” Rachel said, noticing screen Mal covering her ears when everyone's cheering.
Announcer: Prince Ben has won it!
“Excuse me, it was Jay, Carlos, and Ben!” Macaria said.
Announcer: What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible!
“That was some great teamwork you three,” Shang complimented.
Announcer: And it’s the new guys, Jay and Carlos, who set up the prince for the win here.
“Good, he gave them the credit,” Macaria said.
Announcer: What a victory! An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come, folks. The winners of the first toun…
Ben: Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please?
All the teens and Malinda smirked, knowing what’s about to happen. Ben and Benjamin blushed.
Ben: There's something I’d like to say. Give me an “m”!
Crowd: “M!”
Ben: Give me an “a”!
Crowd: “A!”
Ben: Give me an “l”!
Crowd: “L!”
Ben: What does that spell?
Crowd: Mal!
Ben: Come on, I can’t hear you!
Crowd: Mal!
Ben: I love you, Mal! Did I mention that?
“A few times now,” Malinda smirked.
“Son, what are you doing?” Beast asked with a raised eyebrow, quite amused.
“You’re about to find out, Dad,” Benjamin said with a red hue on his cheeks.
Audrey: Oh…
Ben: Give me a beat! Whoa!
Doug: Uno, dos, três, quatro!
Evie: Oh my god! Cookie!
Mal: What was in that cookie?
“You don’t even know what was in the cookie!” Audrey badgered.
“Well, I didn’t know it would be that strong,” Mal said.
Ben: Did I mention that I’m in love with you?
The grown-ups were definitely taken by surprise when Ben started singing.
Ben: And did I mention, there’s nothin’ I can do?
“Mal, you look like you'd rather be anywhere but there,” Dizzy laughed at Mal's reaction on the screen.
“That’s because I didn’t expect Ben to do a full-blown music number,” Mal said, looking at her boyfriend.
“You’re the one who put a love spell on me,” Ben teased.
Mal blushed and Ben chuckled at her reaction.
Ben: And did I happen to say I dream of you everyday?
“That line makes so much sense now,” Tyrone said, referring to when Malinda said they had dreams of each other.
“Wait, so did you guys still have them or did they disappear?” Elle asked.
“They disappeared when we met,” Benjamin said.
Ben: Well
Ben & Crowd: Let me shout it out now!
The teens and Malinda all sang along.
“Really?” Ben questioned with an eyebrow raised.
“Hey, it’s our part,” Evan said.
“Yeah, we gotta show our support,” Aziz said.
“Even off-screen?” Ben asked.
“Of course!” Akiho cheerfully said.
“What’s your reason?” Benjamin asked his wife.
“Please, you should know this by now. It’s to make fun of you, duh,” Malinda said as if the question was so obvious.
Ben: If that’s okay
Crowd: Hey!
Some of the teens laughed at Mal’s facial expression.
“Hmph,” Mal said, crossing her arms and glaring at those who laughed. “I would like to see your face when the crown prince just starts serenading you when you least expect it.”
Ben wouldn’t admit it out loud, at least not in front of a theater full of people he knows, but Mal looked really adorable pouting and crossing her arms, as if she was a little kid not getting her way.
Ben: If that’s okay
Crowd: Hey!
“I love how Evie, Carlos, and Jay are all having fun singing the song,” Rachel smiled.
“Because they get a kick out of teasing me,” Mal said.
Ben: I met this girl that rocked my world like it’s never been rocked
Malinda burst out laughing when Ben started dancing with Carlos following.
“How dare you laugh at the crown prince!” Audrey said.
Malinda got a hold of her laughter and replied, “When the crown prince is your future husband and starts dancing like that while he serenades you, I get to laugh all I want.”
And now I’m livin’ just for her and I won’t ever stop
I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me
But now, look at what you done, you got me down on my knees
Malinda looked at Benjamin and smiled, remembering the slight lyric change he sang on VK Day.
Because my love for you is ridiculous
“I like how all the tourney players started dancing as if this was some planned choreography,” Herkie said.
I never knew
Crowd: Who knew?
“No one,” Emir snarky remarked.
“Definitely not me,” Audrey said.
Ben: that it could be like this
My love for you is
Ben & Crowd: ridiculous
“I think Evie wants you to sing along,” Dizzy giggled.
“I didn’t at the time but I will now,” Malinda said.
“What changed?” Tristan asked.
“Making fun of Ben,” Malinda deadpanned.
“So you had to show our kids the performance off of AuraTube?” Benjamin asked, raising his eyebrow, he already knew her answer but this was usually when they had this discussion.
“Of course,” Malinda said with a cheeky smile.
Ben: My love is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
Crowd: R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
Ben: It’s
Crowd: Ridiculous
Ben: Just
Crowd: Ridiculous
“Carlos, you're having too much fun with this,” Mal said.
Ben: And I would give my kingdom just for one kiss
Well, did I mention that I’m in love with you?
And did I mention, there’s nothin’ I can do?
And did I mention to say I dream of you everyday?
Well
Ben & Crowd : Let me shout it out now!
Ben : If that’s okay
Yeah, if that’s okay
Crowd: Hey!
Ben: I gotta know which way to go, come on, give me a sign
Everyone laughed at the hip-moving dance, now all the tourney players were doing.
You gotta show me that you’re only ever gonna be mine
Don’t wanna go another minute livin’ without you
Cause if your heart just isn’t in it, I don’t know what I’ll do
Because my love for you is
Ben & Crowd: ridiculous
Ben: I never knew
Crowd: Who knew?
Ben: that it could be like this
My love for you is
Ben & Crowd: ridiculous
“So what were you thinking there?” Benjamin asked with a slight chuckle when the screen showed Mal covering her mouth in shock with her hands.
“That you’re insane,” Malinda said.
Ben: My love is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
Crowd: R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
Ben: It’s
Crowd: Ridiculous
Ben: Just
Crowd: Ridiculous
“Mal! You’re smiling!” Evie gleamed, shaking her best friend.
Ben: And I would give my kingdom just for one kiss
Come on now
Huh
Oh-yeah
Oh
Yow
“Carlos, that is so cool!” Jane gushed. Carlos’ cheeks turned bright red from the compliment.
Everyone else smirked and smiled at the cute moment.
Alright
Crowd: Hey!
Ben: Alright
Crowd: Hey!
“How were you able to throw it that far?” Dizzy asked, amused. The other four wondered as well.
“I inherited some of the beast enchantment, which enhanced my strength and some other qualities that came with it,” Ben answered.
“Do you still have the jersey?” Evie asked, smirking at Malinda.
Malinda blushed before nodding.
Ben: Because my love for you is
Ben & Crowd: ridiculous
“You look happy to have my jersey,” Benjamin whispered to his wife. Her cheeks turned to a brighter hue of red.
“Benjamin Florian! What were you thinking?!” Belle scolds as her son climbs onto the house mascot.
Ben blushed and said, “Uh… love spell?”
Belle shook her head at her son.
Ben: I never knew
Crowd: Who knew?
Ben: that it could be like this
My love for you is
Ben & Crowd: ridiculous
Ben: My love is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
Crowd: R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S
“Ben, you could be a good cheerleader,” Chip teased.
“You could have hurt yourself,” Belle worriedly said.
Ben: It’s
Crowd: Ridiculous
Ben: Just
Crowd: Ridiculous
Ben: And I would give my kingdom just for one kiss
A few chuckled as Evie turned Mal around to face Ben.
“You know, I did give you my kingdom for a kiss on our wedding day,” Benjamin said to Malinda.
Malinda smiled at the reminder of their wedding day, even if it was the big extravagant wedding.
Ben: Come on now
“Ah, younger me, prepare for a lot of her dodging you when you’re trying to kiss her,” Benjamin chuckled, as screen him tried to kiss Mal but she blocked it.
“It was not a lot! That one, I wasn’t about to kiss you in front of literally everyone at the game, especially since you just sang you would give me your kingdom for one. Second, I just wanted to tease you. Third, Evie pulled me so it wasn’t my fault,” Malinda said.
“And our first wedding day?” Benjamin asked, raising his eyebrow.
“Just wanted to tease you,” Malinda coyed.
Mal: Oh!
Ben: I love you, Mal. Did I mention that?
“Yes,” Everyone said.
Audrey: Chad’s my boyfriend now!
Aurora’s jaw dropped at what her daughter announced.
Chad: Hey!
“Of course, Chad’s happy about that,” Akiho whispered to Emir.
Audrey: And I’m going to the coronation with him. So I don’t need your pity date.
“I am not pity!” Mal said.
“Who even is she calling a pity date?” Malinda asked. “Because she could be talking to either of us.”
“Poor Evie,” Dizzy said looking at Evie’s face when Audrey kissed Chad.
Ben: Mal! Will you go to the coronation with me?
Mal: Yes!
Ben: She said yes!
“We know, we heard her say it,” Macaria said.
“Are we just going to make fun of me during this whole entire watching?” Ben groaned.
“Well, stop doing things that won’t need making fun of,” Tristan simply said.
“Eh, I just make fun of you every day no matter what,” Malinda shrugged.
Jay: Let’s go, Ben. The whole team’s waiting for you!
“I’m sorry but how the fuck did Audrey along with Chad and Jay get up those bleachers with people standing in the way?!” Rachel asked.
Ben: Yeah.
Mal: Bye. Whoo!
Announcer: What a victory. What a day for the Auradon Knights.
Ben and Benjamin smiled seeing how Mal reacted with his jersey.
Announcer: finally winning back the trophy after so many years.
Mal: I feel really sorry for Audrey.
Everyone except for Mal, Evie, and Malinda looked surprised by that sentence.
“Now I do,” Malinda whispered, Benjamin heard her and grabbed her hand. Audrey told them about the pressures her grandmother would put on her and it led to her acting like that.
Evie: You do?
Mal: Yeah. I feel like if she were talented like you, and she knew how to sew and knew beauty tips, that she wouldn’t need a prince to make her feel better herself.
Evie hugged Mal.
“She’s not wrong. I mean, dating a prince shouldn’t be your only personality trait,” Samatha said.
Evie: I guess I am kind of talented.
“Evie! You are so talented!” Dizzy said. “I still have your old fashion book!”
“You do?” Evie giddily asked.
Dizzy nodded her head super fast. “I still look through it whenever I miss you.”
“Oh, Dizzy,” Evie cooed, before unwrapping her arms around Mal before wrapping them to Dizzy.
Mal: You are definitely gifted.
“All of you are gifted, just in your own ways,” Belle softly said.
Evie: Thanks, M.
Carlos: Yeah, yeah!
Announcer: And there he is. Jay, the most valuable player.
Mal: Whoo!
Announcer: How do you like that?
Jay: Hey!
“Congrats,” Everyone congratulated the tourney players.
Chapter 15: Doug Saving Evie
Chapter Text
“I think he has a daydream problem,” Emir whispered to Akiho, as Chad stared into the distance again. Akiho snorted.
Mr Delay: Looking for something?
Everyone except for Evie, Doug, and Chad looked at the screen in shock.
“How did he get that?!” Snow White asked.
“You’ll see,” Evie said.
Mr Delay: Thank you, Chad. It's gratifying to see someone still respects the honor code.
All the teens glared at Chad.
“How did you get that?” Jay demanded.
“How is taking another’s property respecting the honor code?” Rachel asked.
“She was going to cheat! It’s not fair for everyone else, and that’s one of the reasons why magic was banned!” Chad argued, he couldn’t believe why everyone was coming to the VKs defense.
“Why did the teacher even believe Chad? Like it could have been a normal mirror,” Herkie said,
“Because Chad is from Auradon while Evie is from Isle. Of course, he’s gonna believe Chad over Evie, who he believes is evil since the Evil Queen is her mother. Plus the only one who fully believed in us was Ben,” Malinda explained.
“Right, trust the boy who makes other girls do his work and have completely different handwriting,” Macaria sarcastically said.
“I never said Auradonians were smart,” Malinda snorted.
“Excuse me!” Chad, Audrey, and Leah exclaimed.
“You’re excused,” Malinda said, turning her attention back to the screen.
‘I like her. She definitely gets her attitude from Hades,’ Meg thought to Hercules. What she didn’t know was that her children could also hear her thoughts.
‘How would Malinda/Mal get her attitude from great Uncle Hades?’ Herkie thought to his siblings, making sure their parents couldn't hear their conversation.
Macaria and Hyllus both thought before answering. Hyllus couldn’t come up with an answer while his sister was able to.
‘I believe Mal/Malinda is great Uncle Hades’ daughter. During Maleficent’s performance there was blue fire and…’ Macaria thought to her brothers.
‘And blue fire represents great Uncle Hades,’ Hyllus finished his sister’s thought.
‘And why she has golden flicks in her eyes as Prince Ben mentioned!’ Herkie thought.
‘Should we mention anything to her?’ Hyllus thought.
‘Not right now, I don’t think she wants others to know,’ Macaria thought. Herkie and Hyllus nodded in agreements and continued watching.
Mr Delay: It will be my recommendation that you are expelled.
“Wipe that dirty grin off your face,” Jay warned in a deep voice.
“I wouldn’t have accepted his recommendation in the first place,” Fairy Godmother said. She couldn’t believe this teacher’s behavior, clearly playing favorites.
Everyone looked relieved at that.
Evie: Mr Delay, I…
Doug: But that isn’t fair. Obviously she wasn’t cheating since she didn’t have that… Whatever it is.
Evie: It’s called a magic mir…
Doug: You’re not helping. Stop. Maybe she needed another pencil.
Evie: Actually, I was…
Doug: Really, don’t help.
“Thank you, Doug,” Jay said, letting out a sigh.
“O-of course,” Doug stammered, slightly scared of Jay.
Doug: Please.
Evie: Please.
Mr Delay: Well, if you can pass this test, I’ll return your property and let the matter drop.
The VKs all glared at Chad when his face on screen was prideful and triumphant.
“Yes Evie! Glare him down!” Rowyn exclaimed.
The teens laughed and a few adults chuckled.
Evie: For the first time, it’s like I’m more than just a pretty face.
“Congrats Evie!” Dizzy and Samatha said. Dizzy wrapped her arms around the older girl.
“They’re Evie’s biggest fans, aren’t they?” Snow White asked, smiling.
“Oh, yeah. Behind me, of course,” Malinda said.
Doug: Shocker, huh?
Evie: You were pretty great in there.
Doug: So were you.
“Are you sure? Because she was about to out herself like twice,” Carlos said.
“Carlos!” Evie offendedly said.
“It’s true!” Carlos said, putting his hands up in surrender.
Evie rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“That’s just how Doug takes compliments. He turns it back to you,” Ben said.
Evie: I bet I can get an “A” on the next test without the mirror.
Doug: Yeah. Well, maybe we can get together and we’ll hang out with…
“No! Just you two!” Samatha said.
“Does anyone else notice Mal walking over like a mom that is about to discipline you?” Evan asked.
Some chuckled while others took a closer look to see.
“Oh, yeah, for sure,” Rowyn chuckled.
“That’s funny because Evie is usually our mom friend,” Carlos said.
Evie: Yeah, let’s get together.
Mal: There you are! I have been looking for you literally everywhere!
Evie: What’s wrong?
“Yeah, you’re interrupting Doug and Evie’s moment,” Samatha said.
Mal: Ben just asked me out on… a date.
“You’re forgiven!” Samatha said.
“Yeahhh!” Akiho exclaimed.
“My boy is going up so fast,” Emir said, whipping imaginary tears.
“Uhh guys, I have been on a date before,” Ben pointed out.
“Yeah, but not with a girl you really liked,” Lonnie said.
“He’s love spelled!” Audrey butted in the conversation.
Mal let out a quiet wince, she forgot about it and that she still needs to break it off. Ben heard her and squeezed her hand, knowing what brought her to wince.
“Even before he was love spelled, it was obvious Ben had feelings for Mal,” Chip said.
Doug: Nice.
“All my friends are against me!” Mal said, noticing Evie’s face on screen.
Evie: We can handle this. Bye.
Doug: Bye.
Evie: You’re looking a little pale.
“I’m always looking pale!” Mal said.
Mal: Yeah, of course.
Evie: I can fix that with some glass and some blush.
Mal: No!
“Why are you so against makeup?” Elle asked.
“It’s just not my thing,” Mal said.
Evie: Mal, I can use the…
Mal: No, no, no.
“Do you at least get better about makeup?” Evie asked Malinda.
Malinda chuckled and nodded. “Yeah, although I was starting to lose my patience on the second wedding.”
“Second?” Mrs Potts questioned.
“We had two weddings. The first was just for close friends and family then the second was the big royal wedding," Benjamin said.
Belle and Beast smiled, happy for them to get the small wedding of their dreams.
“I can’t wait for your date, Mal!” Dizzy said.
“Then we better continue watching, huh?” Mal smiled.
“Yeah, and you didn't give me specific details either!” Evie said.
“You weren’t in the room!” Mal said.
“So! I still you barely said anything about it afterwards,” Evie said.
The screen it up, ready to show Mal and Ben’s first date.
Chapter 16: Ben and Mal's First Date
Chapter Text
“She lets me use the blush!” Evie squealed.
“E, you already knew I would,” Mal said.
“Still!” Evie happily said.
Mal: Okay. Easy on the blush. I don’t want to scare him away. Not that I could.
“You could never scare me away,” Ben whispered in Mal’s ear.
Mal blushed.
Evie: Please. My mom taught me how to apply blush before I could talk.
“Wait, really?” Snow White asked.
Evie nodded. “She wanted me to look my best for any prince.”
“The only prince on the Isle is Hans though,” Carlos noted.
“Didn’t she try and set an arranged marriage with Hans?” Jay asked.
“Yeah, but didn’t because Lady Tremaine already set an arrangement with Hans for Drizella,” Evie said.
“Wait, so is my father Hans?” Dizzy asked, tilting her head to the side.
Evie nodded.
“Huh, I always thought I got my redhead from genetics because of Aunt Anastasia,” Dizzy said.
The adults looked disgusted at the thought of the Evil Queen setting up an arranged marriage between a child and a grown man.
“Let’s continue,” Malinda said, noticing the looks on the royals.
Evie: Always use upward strokes.
Mal: My mom was never really big on makeup tips.
“It’s Maleficent, she’s too busy planning her vengeance,” Malinda said, rolling her eyes.
Mal: I never had a sister.
Evie: Well, now you do.
Mal and Evie shared a smile.
“You get that sister eventually,” Benjamin whispered. Malinda nodded whilst smiling. Both thinking about Mal’s little sister.
Evie: We’re going to need all the family we can get if we don’t pull this off. My mother’s not a barrel of laughs when she doesn’t get her way. Just ask Snow White.
“Sorry,” Evie apologized to the older woman.
“It’s okay, sweetheart,” Snow White reassured her younger sister.
Mal: Are you afraid of her?
The royals held their breath, waiting to hear her response.
Evie: Sometimes.
Snow White and Samatha frowned hearing Evie’s response. She shouldn’t be afraid of her own mother even if it is sometimes. Florian noticed both his girls frowns so he wrapped an arm around their shoulders and pulled them to his chest.
Evie: Are you afraid of your mom?
Mal: I just really want her to be proud of me.
Benjamin sighed, he knew she was going to avoid answering the question to not appear weak. He brought his wife into his chest and wrapped an arm around her shoulder to keep her close. Malinda smiled and tucked herself in his chest.
Mal: She gets so angry with me when I disappoint her.
The couples frowned and worried what she could do to Mal if she got really angry.
Mal: And she… yeah, she’s my mom, so I know she loves me… in her own way.
“She avoided the question,” Aurora whispered. She feared what Maleficent could have done to her own daughter.
Ben didn’t like the hesitation when she said “in her own way” when talking about her mother’s love, he tightened his grip on her hand.
Evie: Moving on. Come see.
Everyone let out a breath of relief for the change of conversation.
Mal: Are we done?
Evie: Yeah.
“Oh dearie, you look wonderful,” Mrs Potts fondly said.
Mal blushed at the compliment and mumbled, “Thanks.”
Ben blushed at how beautiful she looked.
Mal: Oh.
Evie: I know.
Mal: I look…
Evie: Say it.
Mal: Not hideous.
“Darling, you could never look hideous. You always look pretty, beautiful, lovely, stunning, gorgeous, irresistible, exquisite, and so much more,” Benjamin expressed.
Mal’s cheeks started to burn from how red her cheeks turned.
“He’s not wrong,” Ben muttered quietly. Mal heard it and couldn’t stop the butterflies going crazy in her stomach.
Mainda’s cheeks were also very red from her husband’s confession. “Wait, when did I look irresistible and exquisite, as you said?”
“When you entered motherhood,” Benjamin said.
Malinda smiled and bumped her shoulder with his.
“Such a romantic,” Maurice said, shaking his head fondly.
“Wonder where he got it from,” Mrs Potts said, pointedly looking at Beast.
“What?” Beast asked, noticing her look.
“You gave me a whole library because I mentioned I liked reading,” Belle said.
“He definitely got his romantic side from you and he got his loving someone no matter where they came from or what they look like from Belle,” Mrs Potts said.
“Should we tell them that you literally decorated a room just so I can do my art?” Malinda whispered.
“Nah. They would just be reminded of the dreams,” Benjamin whispered.
Evie: Not even close.
“Do you still have that dress?” Mrs Potts asked.
Malinda nodded. “I surprised Ben with it for our 10 year anniversary of our first date and he had the exact same reaction,” she smiled.
Everyone smiled at how captivated Ben was looking at Mal.
Ben: For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful.
“Aww,” all the women cooed.
Audrey scowled, Ben had only called her pretty but he called this purple witch beautiful.
Ben: I hope you like bikes.
Benjamin gasped. “What was that look for?”
Malinda laughed. “Shh, don’t worry about it.”
“I will worry about it!” Benjamin said.
Ben pouted, he wanted to make the date special for Mal, if he was under the love potion at the time.
Mal noticed his pout and pecked his cheek to make him feel better.
Mal watched as her best friend closed their dorm room door with a grin. “E, why are you grinning like that?”
“No reason,” Evie innocently smiled.
Mal sent her a suspicious look before looking back at the screen.
“It’s so green!” Dizzy gasped, looking at the screen in amazement, where Ben and Mal were riding on the scooter.
Ben blushed when screen Mal tightened her hold around his waist.
The adults smiled seeing how carefree Mal was being, trying to touch both sides of the bridge.
Ben: Tell me something about yourself that you’ve never told anyone.
Mal: Um… My middle name is Bertha.
“Bertha?!” Jay, Evie, and Carlos asked, turning to their friend.
Mal groaned. “Yes. And if you ever say it out loud again, I will pelt you with smoke bombs that you wouldn’t be able to see,” she warned.
“There goes my streak,” Malinda groaned.
“Streak?” Anna asked.
“Ben was the only one who knew my middle name,” Malinda said.
Ben: Bertha?
Mal: Yeah. Bertha. Just my mom doing what she does best. Being really, really evil. Mal Bertha.
Ben: Mine’s Florian.
The teens snorted.
Mal: Florian?
Ben: Yeah.
Mal: How princely.
Florian chuckled.
Mal: Oh, that’s almost worse.
Ben: I mean, you know, it’s better than Bertha.
“Is it though?” Emir asked.
Ben: But it’s still not… watch your foot. Yeah.
“You let him lead you with your eyes closed?!” Evie asked, looking at Mal in surprise.
“Why is that so shocking?” Aziz asked.
“That takes a lot of trust for a VK to let another person lead them somewhere with their eyes closed,” Jay said.
“Yeah, and you don't know where they could lead you,” Carlos said.
“But it’s Auradon,” Evan mentioned.
“Still. And we don’t know Auradon that well, it’s shocking seeing Mal have that much trust in a person,” Evie said.
Ben beamed at the thought of Mal trusting him that much.
Benjamin smiled at his wife, happy to know she trusted him that early on.
Ben: Are you good?
Mal: Mm-hmm.
Ben: Now, step up. There you go.
Belle couldn’t stop the smile from spreading on her face seeing how Mal completely trusted Ben and letting him touch her.
“My favorite place to be,” Malinda said, seeing her younger self wrapped in Ben’s arms and him rubbing her upper arm.
Ben: You ready?
Mal: Mm-hmm.
Ben: Open.
“That’s so pretty!” Dizzy squealed, at the setting,
Audrey scowled, Ben had never taken her there but he took the girl that spelled him! Then she remembered Ben still is spelled and he’s just acting romantic because of it, he’ll be back with her in no time.
Jane’s eyes widened in realization. That’s the Enchanted Lake, it washes off any spells, potions, and enchantments. She glanced over at Ben, wondering if he had gone in the water for the love potion to be washed away.
Benjamin smiled at the look on Mal’s face she gave him when she first saw it. He knew now that she couldn’t believe that place actually existed since it was in the dreams she had with him.
Ben: Go on.
Mal: Mm…
“I like how Ben is just staring at Mal while she eats,” Herkie laughed,
Benjamin shrugged. “She’s my favorite view.”
Ben: Is this your first time?
Mal: Mm…
“I fucked that jelly doughnut up,” Malinda proudly said.
Benjamin burst out laughing at her comment, along with a few others.
Mal: We don’t really date much on the island. It’s more like.. Gang activity.
“I’m scared to know what that means,” Meg said, other adults nodded.
Ben: Um, I meant, is this your first time eating a jelly donut?
“Yes,” the VKs said.
“I didn’t know about the food issues then,” Benjamin said,
The royals all looked at each other worried, they knew before something wasn’t sitting right but there’s clearly more they don’t know about.
Mal: Is it bad?
Ben: You got a… Just a… I mean, yeah, do this.
The girls all blushed, wishing a prince would try and clean their lips like Ben was doing with Mal.
“You might as well just kiss me,” Malinda smirked at her husband.
“Oh, yeah, like you would have let me back then,” Benjamin snarked, rolling his eyes.
Mal: Mm-hmm. Gone? You can’t take me anywhere, I guess.
“You aren’t the first messy eater we’ve seen,” Lonnie shrugged.
Benjamin sadly smiled, remembering that picnic where he said it to try and make her laugh, but it later turned into a shit show. Malinda noticed her husband's face and knew what he was thinking about.
“It wasn’t your fault,” Malinda whispered.
Benjamin buried his face into her hair, not wanting to talk about it anymore.
Ben: You know, I’ve done all the talking. Your turn. I really don’t know that much about you.
“Exactly! Bennyboo, you know me more than her, that’s why I’m more perfect for the throne!” Audrey said.
“You do know that most of the royal couples didn’t know each other fully well before getting married, right?” Macaria asked.
“Yeah, it’s pretty common to do that around here,” Elle added.
Ben: Tell me something.
Mal: Well, I’m 16. I’m an only child.
Benjamin sent Malinda a smirk and she rolled her eyes, both thinking about Mal’s younger siblings.
Mal: And I’ve only ever lived in one place.
“Well, now you’ve lived in two places,” Rachel said.
Ben: Me too! That… we have so much in common already.
Everyone snorted.
“I think you were a little too optimistic there, Bennyboo,” Malinda teased.
Mal: No. Trust me, we do not.
“Why can you have so much in common with the girl who is planning to steal the wand and destroy all of Auradon?!” Audrey screeched.
Mal: And now you’re gonna be king.
Ben: Yeah…
Mal: What?
Ben: A crown doesn’t make you a king.
“Yes, it does!” Audrey said.
Everyone rolled their eyes while Aurora and Phillip glared at Leah for putting that in their daughter’s head.
Mal: Well, it kind of does.
Audrey looked in pain at the thought she just agreed with Mal.
“You all say Audrey only cares about the crown, well what about her?!” Leah accused.
Everyone ignored her and continued watching.
Ben: No, it… Your mother is the mistress of evil and I’ve got the poster parents for goodness.
“Pointing out the obvious I see,” Emir said.
Ben; But we’re not automatically like them.
The adults nodded.
“It’s a good thing to be different from your parents, you aren’t them,” Maurice said.
“We raised you guys to be your own people and make your own happily ever afters,” Rapunzel said.
Ben: We get to choose who we’re gonna be.
“You raised a wise son,” Tiana complimented Belle and Beast.
“It helps that he mostly got Belle’s wisdom,” Beast said.
Belle, Chip, Mrs Potts, and Maurice chuckled.
Ben: And right now, I can look into your eyes and I can tell you’re not evil. I can see it.
“I think that’s the moment I truly fell in love with you,” Malinda smiled.
“Really?” Benjamin asked.
“You truly believed in me, of who and what I could be. Everyone has compared me to Maleficent but I could never be evil like her, she always saw me as a disappointment so for you to see the real me was why I fell in love with you,” Malinda confessed.
Benjamin didn’t know what to say so he did what his brain was telling him. He grabbed her face and kissed her.
Mal blushed, she never fully understood what she was feeling when she was around Ben but what her older self just said made so much sense. She was in love with Ben.
Ben: Let’s go for a swim.
The AKs chuckled at how Ben just switched the conversation from being serious to going swimming.
Jay, Carlos, and Evie all tensed. They knew Mal wouldn’t swim, actually none of them can but still.
Mal: Hm? What? Uh… right now?
Ben: Yeah, right now.
“I should have noticed you clearly didn’t want to go swimming,” Benjamin whispered.
“It’s ok,” Malinda reassured.
“Did Mal even have a swimsuit at the time?” Macaria asked.
“That’s actually a good question. If she didn’t, did you expect her to go skinny dipping or something?” Hyllus asked.
Ben blushed. “I didn’t fully think that through.”
“Clearly, with the love potion and all,” Tristan.
Mal: I think I’m gonna stay here.
Ben: No, no, no. come on.
Mal: I think I’m gonna stay behind and try a strawberry. I’ve literally never tried a strawberry before. Mm! Mm…
“And the strawberry obsession has started,” Benjamin announced.
Ben: Don’t eat all of them.
“Oh, I 100% did,” Malinda said.
Mal: Okay. Ooh! Mm.
“And you make fun of us for acting like pigs!” Jay said, as screen Mal stuffed her face with strawberries.
“Do I need to remind you of the limo?” Mal said.
“You two can argue who’s the messier eater later,” Evie said, putting a stop to their argument.
Few of the AK girls blushed seeing Ben shirtless.
Belle smiled at how cute it was when Ben waved at Ben with a big dopey smile.
Mal: Are those little crowns on your shorts?
Ben: Maybe.
“Nah, it’s the beast crest,” Akiho smirked.
“You look like a mom waving at her son, making sure he doesn’t go far,” Melody chuckled, which made others laugh.
The laughter continued when Ben roared before jumping into the water.
Ben: Whoo! Hah-ha!
“Does anyone else hear music?” Aladdin asked. The others nodded, they definitely heard music starting to play.
Mal’s eyes widened.
Mal: A million thoughts in my head
Everyone didn’t expect Mal to start singing.
Mal: Should I let my heart keep listening?
“Yes,” Ben nodded.
“I think you’re a bit biased,” Mal said.
Mal: Cause up till now, I’ve walked the line
Nothing lost, but something missing
“You have a beautiful voice,” Anna said.
“Thank you,” Mal softly said.
Mal: I can’t decide what’s wrong, what’s right
“Going back to the Isle is what’s right,” Chad mumbled.
“Shouldn’t you be happy that Mal and her friends came over since now you get Audrey?” Tyrone asked, hearing Chad’s mumbled.
“Yeah, and if Mal goes back then Audrey will go back to mooning over Ben,” Samatha said.
“She moons over Ben no matter what,” Rachel said.
“Let’s continue, I want to listen to Mal sing,” Elle said.
Mal: Which way should I go?
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
“That you’re falling in love with Ben,” Malinda offered.
“It’s good to listen to your heart,” Aurora said.
Mal: Don’t know what I’m feeling, is this just a dream?
“I can understand why you think it’s a dream,” Kristoff said.
“Yeah! Especially since you apparently had dreams of each other,” Chip added.
Mal: Ah-oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
“She’s thinking back to her memories with Ben,” Cinderella smiled.
Ben smiled with a blush covering his cheeks, happy to see how much of an impact he had on Mal.
Mal: I could find the way to who I’m meant to be
Ah, oh
If only, yeah
Am I crazy?
“Yes, you very much are crazy,” Leah said. Everyone ignored her.
“Love makes you do some crazy and stupid things, but it’s worth it in the end,” Belle said.
Mal: Maybe we could happen, yeah,
Will you still be with me
When the magic’s all run out?
“I’m still here,” Benjamin smiled.
Mal: If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don’t know what I’m feeling, is this just a dream?
Ah, oh
If only, yeah
If only, yeah
If only, yeah
If only
If only
If only
“Thank god, that’s over,” Audrey said.
Mal: Ben?
Everyone froze.
Belle grabbed Beast’s arm, terrified of what could have happened to her son.
Mal: Ben? Ben!
The VKs stared at the screen in shock.
Evie wrapped Mal in a tight embrace.
“E, can’t breathe,” Mal said.
The royals stared at the screen in shock and worried.
“You can’t swim?” Ariel gasped.
“None of us can,” Jay said.
“Well, except for the pirates, but still the water isn’t that good to be swimming in,” Carlos added.
“Oh! Thank the gods!” Evie said relieved, seeing Ben save Mal.
“E, can you let me go now?” Mal asked, still in Evie’s embrace.
Evie let go but grabbed her hand to hold.
Mal: Ugh.
“Maybe don’t shake your head like a dog while your date is clearly mad at you,” Jane advised.
Mal: You scared me!
Ben: You… you can’t swim?
“Did it look like she could swim?” Rowyn asked, raising her eyebrow.
Mal: No!
Ben: You live on an island!
Mal: Yeah, with a barrier around it, remember? Ugh.
Ben: And you still tried to save me.
“Ok, before you guys come at me, I was just shocked she jumped in to save me,” Ben said.
“Also clearing my head from the love potion,” Benjamin quietly added.
Mal: Yeah. And do you thank me? No! All I get is soaking wet!
“Thank you, by the way,” Ben said.
Mal laughed. “You’re welcome, but thank you for actually saving my life.”
Ben: And, uh, this fancy rock.
“Not the time,” Doug said, shaking his head.
Ben: It’s yours. Make a wish and throw it back in the lake.
Mal: What…
Beast smiled at Ben, still being a gentleman and covering Mal’s shoulders with his jacket.
“I’m pretty sure I still have that,” Malinda said.
“Were you that cold?” Phillip asked, noticing screen Mal shiver.
Mal nodded. “I don’t handle the cold that well.”
“Kiss,” Dizzy pleaded when Ben started to play with a lock of Mal’s hair, which resulted in her looking at him.
Ben: Um, Mal… I told you that I loved you. What about you? Do you love me?
“I’m ridiculously in love with you,” Malinda said, reminding Benjamin of their first wedding.
Benjamin chuckled and smiled. “I’m ridiculously in love with you too.”
Mal: I don’t know what love feels like.
“None of us do,” The VKs mumbled.
“Why is that kinda attractive?” Malinda whispered, talking about how Ben grabbed younger Mal’s chin to turn her attention back to him.
Benjamin snorted.
Ben: Maybe I can teach you.
“I did pretty well if I do say so myself,” Benjamin said.
Malinda smiled and kissed his cheek. “So you couldn’t have just told me right then?” She asked.
“Hey, I told you at the perfect time!” Benjamin defended.
“You made me believe you were still on it up until that point,” Malinda flatly said.
Mal raised an eyebrow at what her older self said. It sounded like they were talking about the love potion,
Malinda noticed the look on Mal’s face. “I think you guys should go talk about it,” she said, looking between Ben and Mal.
Ben seemed to get what she was implying so he stood up and held out his hand for Mal to take. She took it as Clotho created a separate room for them to use.
“I believe it’s time for a break,” Clotho announced.
Chapter 17: Break #3
Chapter Text
Ben and Mal walked to the separate room. The two stared in silence, neither knowing how to start the conversation they needed to have.
“So…” Mal faltered.
Ben smiled and said, “What Malinda said was true.”
“Y-you aren’t on the love potion anymore?” Mal hesitated.
Ben nodded. “The spell washed away in the Enchanted Lake.”
“Enchanted Lake?” Mal asked, tilted her head.
“It’s a magical lake that has the power to wash away any spells and potions,” Ben said.
“How did you even find the lake?” Mal asked.
“I was out on a run and the forest around there has some great trails, then I came across the lake,” Ben explained.
“It was really beautiful,” Mal smiled.
“Glad to hear that,” Ben smiled.
“But um…” Mal nervously started. “We clearly get married and apparently have kids, but were you ever faking it at sometime…?”
Ben softly smiled and stepped closer into Mal’s personal space. He wrapped both his arms loosely around her waist and brought a hand up to tuck a strand of hair back that had fallen in front of her face.
“I haven’t been faking anything. I guess I wasn’t as secretive as I thought, since I was pretty much enchanted by you the second we met. I know I was under the love spell, but I would do it again even if I wasn’t,” Ben confessed.
Mal lightly bit her lip to contain the huge grin spreading on her face and at this point, she’s pretty sure she’s going to have a permanent blush on her cheeks. Ben started to slightly lean in but got stopped by Mal’s finger pressed into his lips.
“As much as I would like to kiss you, I’m still new to these feelings and not sure how to maintain them. So would it be ok if we take it slow for a while?” Mal asked, taking her finger off his lips, which she might add felt very soft.
Ben softly smiled and started to lean in again, Mal feared he was going to try kissing her again, but he kissed her forehead.
“I’m perfectly fine with that,” Ben said.
Mal beamed at her boyfriend and stared in his embrace for a couple more minutes.
While the couple was having their talk, everyone else got up and started having conversations.
“As promised,” Clotho called out, and a buffet appeared in the back of the room. Everyone got in line, the adults made sure the kids were in front of them.
Akiho made sure Evie, Carlos, Jay, and Dizzy all had something that was chocolate. Evie wasn’t the biggest fan of it, but Dizzy loved it, and, of course, the boys. Akiho took that as a win in the end.
When Dizzy went over to get more food, Cinderella took that as a chance to get to know the younger girl. Evie was keeping an eye on Dizzy, she knew Cinderella wouldn’t do anything but Dizzy is her little sister and she would always protect her, but Doug came over and she got lost in the conversation with him.
Lonnie went over to Jay and the two quickly got lost in conversation about sword fighting. Carlos and Dude were the last ones just standing there, Akiho already left to go talk to Emir. Carlos had a mental battle if he should go over to talk to Jane, as she was also alone. In the end, he decided to go over and the two talked while petting Dude.
Malinda smiled as she watched her past friends talk with their respective partners. She was so in thought she didn’t notice Belle and Mrs Potts coming over.
“Malinda Bertha,” Belle said.
“Whatever it was, it wasn’t my fault!” She said, looking between the two women.
Benjamin, Belle, and Mrs Potts laughed at her response.
“We aren’t accusing you of anything, don’t worry, dearie,” Mrs Potts smiled.
Malinda shrugged. “I’m only used to Ben saying my full name.”
“If you did something, your response wasn’t that convincing,” Benjamin said.
“We’re just here to ask you to see photos of our grandkids,” Belle beamed.
Benjamin snorted and shook his head fondly at his mom’s request.
Malinda smiled and pulled out her phone from her pocket. She opened her phone and went to her photo gallery and clicked on the photo album of her kids. She handed her phone to Belle and said, “Go crazy, you two.”
Belle and Mrs Potts squealed in excitement. The two looked at the several photos of the two kids, one being a girl, who was the oldest, and the other being a boy and the youngest.
“Aww, they’re so cute!” Mrs Potts said.
“What are their names? How old are they? What are they each like?” Belle rapidly asked.
“I’ll let you leave three to talk,” Benjamin said, kissing the top of Malinda’s head and walking away to join another conversation.
“The girl’s name is Madeline, but we just call her Maddy. She just turned 6 in July. She’s very much like you and Ben, being with a bookworm. And the boy is Braxton, but we call him Brax for short. He’s 3, and he takes after me with liking to paint. They are both sweethearts,” Malinda smiled.
“The bookworm trait clearly got passed,” Mrs Potts jokes.
“And we wouldn’t change a thing,” Malinda said.
“Let’s continue, shall we?” Clotho called out as she noticed Ben and Mal walk out the room.
Belle handed Malinda her phone back as everyone walked back to their seats.
“Wait! You guys didn’t tell us about your dreams,” Chip said.
“We’ll tell you at the end of this watching, how about that?” Malinda asked.
Everyone nodded and turned as the screen lit up with a new scene.
Chapter 18: "No, I think we are definitely gonners."
Chapter Text
Fairy Godmother: Children, excuse me.
The Core Four winced of what's about to happen.
Fairy Godmother: Um, as you know, uh, this Sunday is Family Day here at Auradon Prep. And because your parents can’t be here due to, uh distance,
A few snorted at that comment.
Fairy Godmother: we’ve arranged for a special treat.
Leah screamed when the image of Maleficent's face came on the computer screen.
“Mother, calm down!” Aurora said.
Lachesis silenced Leah with a spell.
“Thank gods,” Aurora and Phillip muttered.
Maleficent: I don’t see anything, nor do I hear.
Fairy Godmother: Kids!
Maleficent: Is it… is it… is…
Jafar: Press enter.
“This is painful to watch,” Herkie said.
“I mean, we don’t have electronics on the Isle so how are we supposed to know how to use them?” Jay said.
“But then how did Carlos become a tech genius?” Evan asked.
“I worked with what we got in the garbage deliveries and followed what Yen Sid had taught,” Carlos shrugged.
“Garbage deliveries?” Belle asked.
“Yeah, the Isle gets-” Dizzy said but got interrupted.
“Fates, continue. Please,” Benjamin pleaded.
All the royals suddenly got a bad feeling about what was about to be uncovered if Benjamin didn’t interrupt.
“We’ll ask about it later,” Beast comforted his wife, noticing the look on her face.
Maleficent: Can I please see a remote? Is this thing on?
“We sent directions,” Fairy Godmother frowned.
“Did you really expect for them to actually use them?” Mal asked, raising her eyebrow at the older fairy.
Fairy Godmother: Ugh, it’s broken.
Cruella de Vil: Ugh!
Maleficent: I hate electronic equip…
Cruella de Vil: Oh!
Evil Queen: Evie, it’s mommy. Oh! Look how beautiful. Oh, you know what they say, the poison apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
“That’s not how the phrase goes…” Florian said, trailing off at the end.
“At least, she’s happy to see Evie,” Samatha smiled.
Evie smiled that her mother was somewhat happy to see her.
Maleficent: Don’t you mean the weeds?
Cruella de Vil: Ooh! Who’s the old bat?
“It took her that long to notice Fairy Godmother?” Tristan asked.
Carlos just shrugged, not knowing any way to defend his mother.
Mal: This is Fairy Godmother.
“You know, that’s smart, making sure they know she’s there so they don’t ruin the wand heist,” Macaria said.
“How are you approving this?! They are literally stealing the wand!!” Audrey screeched.
“I’m not approving it, I’m complimenting the four,” Macaria said.
“Now, that kinda wants me wishing they did say something about the plan,” Malinda sighed.
Maleficent: Still doing tricks with eggplants?
Fairy Godmother: I turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage.
“It was beautiful, thank you,” Cinderella smiled.
“Of course, dear,” Fairy Godmother said.
Maleficent: You really couldn’t give Cinderella till one a.m? I mean, really. What, the hamsters had to be back on their little wheels?
Fairy Godmother: They were mice! They were not… they were mice. They were not…
Mal: Thank you so much. Thank you.
Fairy Godmother: They were mice.
Mal sighed. “Don’t take it personally, she just loves mocking people and getting under their nerves.”
Mal: Hi, mom.
Maleficent: Mal!
“Not suspicious or anything,” Rachel sarcastically said.
“She’s not exactly the most subtle when she wants something,” Malinda said.
Maleficent: I m-m-miss you.
The adults frowned that Maleficent couldn’t say she missed her daughter.
Jafar: You children are never far from our thoughts.
“Yeah, never far from your thoughts of us stealing the wand,” Jay snarked.
Maleficent: I got it. How long must mommy wait to see you?
Mal’s face scrunched in disgust at the thought of ever calling her mother “mommy.”
Mal: Um, there’s a big coronation coming up. I think sometime probably after… that.
Maleficent: When?
Mal: Friday. 10 a.m.
Maleficent: You sure I can’t see you before that? I don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t get my hands on that magic wan…
“Wow, she was that close to giving the plan away,” Meg acknowledged.
Maleficent: you… you little nugget that I love so much.
“How did you not tell something was odd about the conversation?” Mulan asked.
“I wanted to give the children privacy,” Fairy Godmother said.
Mulan raised an eyebrow, how was it giving the kids privacy when you’re literally just on the side.
Mal: Yes. I completely understand, mother.
Cruella de Vil: Carlos, is that a dog?
“What is up with them getting so close to the camera?” Tyrone laughed, referring to Maleficent beforehand and now with Cruella.
Cruella de Vil: Oh, yes, yes, baby. I do understand. It would make the perfect size for earmuffs.
Carlos: He’s the perfect size for a pet!
Cruella de Vil: Oh!
Carlos: This dog loves me, and I love him. And FYI, your dog is stuffed!
Cruella de Vil: Oh!
Carlos: So give it a rest!
Everyone “whoo!” and cheered as Carlos stood up to his mother.
“Go Carlos!” several people shouted.
Carlos blushed from the attention he’s getting but smiled at the fact they were proud of him.
Jafar: Oh-ho! Burn!
Cruella de Vil: Oh! Why don’t you go sell a toaster, you two-bit salesman!
Jafar: People who talk to stuffed animals shouldn’t throw stones.
“She’s just standing there!” Mulan furiously whispered to Shang, talking about Fairy Godmother.
Cruella de Vil: Oh, well, people who sell toasters shouldn’t use mixed metaphors.
The parents in the room frowned at the four’s reaction as Jafar and Cruella continued to argue.
Evil Queen: Enough!
Everyone let out a breath as Jay thankfully turned off the monitor.
Fairy Godmother: I’m so sorry.
Jay: Thanks for the special treat.
Fairy Godmother: Of course.
Evie: M? What do you think our parents are gonna do to us if we don’t pull this off?
The royals held their breath, waiting to see what they'd say.
Mal: I think they will be quietly disappointed in us, but ultimately… proud of us for doing our best.
Carlos: Really?
“Did you really believe that excuse?” Mal asked.
“I couldn’t tell if you were being serious or not,” Carlos shrugged.
Mal: No, I think we are definitely goners.
“I don’t like the four of you being goners,” Eugene said.
“None of us do,” Rowyn said.
“Well, the majority of us do,” Aziz added, looking at Audrey and Leah.
Evie: Yeah.
Mal: Okay, we all know what this looks like. So it’ll be up on the dais under the beast’s spell jar, Ben I'll be coming in from here. I will be in the very front. You all will be up in the balcony.
“Why were there so many people in the front if it was only supposed to be your parents, you, and your girlfriend?” Malinda quietly asked.
“It was but I think my parents asked all the OG royals to be in front,” Benjamin said.
Evie: Yeah.
Mal: Carlos?
Carlos: Okay, so I’ll find our limo, so we can break the barrier, and, uh, get back on the island with the wand.
“But wouldn’t the wand even work if you guys were on the Isle?” Macaria asked.
The four stared at the godling, they never considered that fact or thought of it.
Mal: Perfect. Evie?
Evie: Yeah.
Mal: You will use this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he’ll be out like a light.
“Surprised you aren’t going to kill him,” Leah muttered.
Mal heard the muttered. “I did like the guy and didn’t want to terribly injure him.”
Evie: Okay.
“They don’t seem that thrilled for the opportunity of taking over Auradon,” Tiana said.
“No, they’re acting as if it’s a chore,” Naveen replied.
“What are you reading?” Rachel asked, unable to read the clip of the spell book.
“You’re about to find out,” Mal sighed.
Evie: M? You want to break Ben’s love spell?
The royals looked surprised.
“I can get my Bennyboo back!” Audrey squealed.
“She does see the future married versions of Mal and Ben, right?” Akiho asked.
“Shh,” Emir shushed. “Let her think whatever nonsense she wants.”
Mal: Yeah. You know, for after. I don’t… I’ve just been thinking, you know, when the villains finally do invade Auradon, and began to loot and kick everyone out of their castles and imprison their leaders and destroy all that is good and beautiful
The royals didn’t like the sound of what the villains would do if they got off the Isle.
Mal: Ben still being in love with me just seems a little extra… cruel.
Ben squeezed her hand. “I’m not going anywhere. Unless you specifically ask me too.”
“Oh! So spelling my boyfriend wasn’t cruel?” Audrey asked.
“She truly has fallen for him but she’s scared to have those feelings so she’s hiding them by using the plan of stealing the wand,” Rapunzel said.
The grown ups around her nodded in agreement.
Evie: M?
The royals frowned as they watched how the VKs were unable to fall asleep and spent treasuring their own accomplishments.
“Hey, Malinda, what do we do, like jobs?” Jay asked.
“Well, you’re a professional tourney player for Auradon,” Malinda started.
“But shouldn’t he be fighting on the Agrabah team?” Aziz asked.
“He was considering it but Jay picked Auradon to get out of his father’s shadow and make a name for himself,” Benjamin answered.
“But wouldn’t doing this already be making a name for himself since he’s like his father?” Emir asked.
“No matter what some people will always compare us to our parents,” Malinda answered, sending a look to Leah. “Anyways, continuing. Carlos, you become a vet. It’s the best of both worlds for you to work with animals and technology. And Evie becomes the most successful business woman with her own fashion brand.”
“I have my own fashion brand?!” Evie squealed.
“Oh, yeah,” Malinda smiled.
“Did anyone else hear the instrumental part of the beginning of a song?” Evan asked.
“At this point, it’s not a surprise,” Doug answered.
Mal:
A million thoughts in my head
Should I let my heart keep listening
I know it's time
To say goodbye
So hard to let go
Everyone was stunned. The VKs were surprised when a tear rolled down Mal’s face and landed in the batter, they never expected to see her cry.
Benjamin wrapped his arm around his wife and brought her into his chest.
“The hardest thing to do is let someone you love go,” Beast said. Belle squeezed his hand.
“Why is it always the one who never expected to fall in love has to be the one who lets their loved one go?” Malinda asked.
“Because that just proves they fell in love with them and want the best for them,” Benjamin said.
“At least now, you don’t have to say goodbye,” Chip smiled at the purple head.
“I guess that’s true,” Mal smiled at Chip.
Chapter 19: Family Day
Chapter Text
Ben: Ma chere mademoiselle
“You know French?” Mal asked.
Ben chuckled. “Yeah, my family taught me since I was really young. You didn’t know that?”
Mal shook her head.
“That makes so much sense of why you were surprised when I was talking in French,” Benjamin thought out loud.
“That and you also sounded really mad, which is also pretty shocking,” Malinda said.
“I’m sorry, Ben was really mad at someone?” Chip asked, looking at the couple.
“Oh yeah,” Malinda said.
“She deserved it,” Benjamin said with an edge.
Everyone picked up on the hard tone in his voice and wondered what that person did to make Ben so angry at them.
“Hey, don’t you know French too? Since your mother is Maleficent and Princess Aurora’s kingdom was originally in France before Auradon,” Rowyn asked.
“Nah, my mom never taught me French,” Mal answered.
“I know French now, since Ben taught me,” Malinda said.
Ben: It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure
That we welcome you tonight
And now, we invite you to relax
Let us pull up a chair
Everyone snorted at how low the guy bowed when Ben shook his hand.
Ben: as the dining room proudly presents
Your dinner
The AKs: Be our guest, be our guest
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin round your neck, cherie
And we’ll provide the rest
Doug blushed in embarrassment when he messed up on the choreography. “I always messed up the dance during the rehearsals.”
“It’s ok, Doug,” Ben smiled.
Ben: That’s right
The AKs: Soup du jour, hot hors d’oeuvres
Why, we only live to serve
Ben: Whoo!
“Oo, Mal don’t get jealous now,” Tyrone teased when Ben threw the napkin towards the two girls standing to the side, who fawned over it when one of them caught it.
“Please. Why would I be jealous?” Mal said, rolling her eyes. Ben smiled and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
“They got a napkin, I got his heart,” Malinda shrugged. Benjamin kissed her.
The AKs: Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious
Ben: All right!
The AKs: Don’t believe me?
Ben: Ask the dishes
Guys: They can sing, sing, sing
They can dance, dance, dance
After all, miss, this is France
“Interesting take on the song,” Mrs Potts chuckled.
Everyone laughed.
Guys: And the dinner here is never never second best
Come on, go on, unfold your menu
Go on take a glance and then you’ll (All right)
Be our guest, be our guest
Be our guest
Hey, yeah, come on
Yeah
Be our guest, guest
Yeah, yeah
“Oh! I’m so sorry, Pumpkin,” Fairy Godmother apologized.
“It’s ok, mom,” Jane smiled.
The AKs: We tell jokes, I do tricks
“So you guys were late, that’s why you didn’t know Ben could speak French?” Rachel asked.
“Yeah,” Mal confirmed.
The AKs: With my fellow candlesticks
And it’s all in perfect taste that you can bet
Come on and lift your glass
You’ve won your own free pass
To be our guest
Ben: If you’re stressed, it’s fine dining we suggest
The AKs: Be our guest, be our guest
Be our guest
Yeah, come on
Ben and Benjamin snorted when the first thing Mal does is grab a strawberry.
The AKs: Be our guest
Be our guest, come on, come on
Be our guest
“You kids did a wonderful job,” Aurora complimented.
“Mal’s got that proud girlfriend look on her face,” Elle smiled.
Carlos: Oh…
Ben and Emir shook their heads fondly as screen Akiho handed Carlos something chocolate.
Belle: That was so lovely!
Carlos: Oh. Wa…
Jay: Mm.
“You are so real for that, Jay!” Akiho said when Jay licks the chocolate.
Ben: Just here?
Tailor: Ready?
Ben: Oh! By the way, I have a new girlfriend.
Mal and Malinda slapped their foreheads.
Everyone else chuckled.
“Really? You thought that was the perfect time to tell them,” Mal asked.
“I was excited,” Ben shrugged. A small smile formed on Mal’s face at that remark.
Beast: Oh.
Ben: Yeah.
Belle: Well, I never wanted to say anything, but I always thought that Audrey was a little self-absorbed. A fake smile, kind of a kiss up.
Everyone stared in shock, never expecting the kind-hearted and looking past looks queen would ever say something like that.
Belle flushed in embarrassment of what she said, she never expected for it to be shared to everyone.
Audrey frowned at hearing those words come from Belle. Leah scowled at the queen.
“I’m so sorry,” Belle said.
Beast: Do we know your new girlfriend?
Tailor: On the count of three. One, two…
Ben: Well, sort of. Mal!
Mal: I gotta go, okay?
Tailor: Three!
Belle: Huh?
Everyone laughed at how Belle and Beast’s faces were completely shocked and Ben is the only one who’s smiling for the picture.
“Do you guys still have that picture? Because I want it,” Malinda said, still laughing.
“I have no clue to be honest,” Benjamin said, shaking his head at his wife.
“I just realized Ben is wearing a carbon copy of Adam’s suit,” Chip said.
Ben: Mal? Mal.
Belle: Uh…
“Ben, you’re going to give your parents a heart attack at this point,” Elle chuckled.
Ben: I wanna introduce you to my parents.
Mal: Ben.
“I didn’t expect to be introduced to your parents so soon,” Mal explained, noticing the questioning look Ben was giving her.
Ben: This is Mal. From the island.
Belle: Mm…
Ben: My girlfriend.
“A man of a few words,” Rowyn chuckled.
Belle: Hi.
Mal: Hi.
“Why were you so shocked?” Mulan asked.
“I was mostly shocked Ben had found a new girlfriend so fast but also how completely opposite Mal was from Audrey,” Belle honestly said.
“It’s so weird seeing you and mom not as close as you are now,” Benjamin said.
Ben: I was thinking maybe she can join us for lunch.
Beast: Of… course. Any friend of Ben’s…
“I’m pretty sure she’s more than a friend,” Lonnie smirked.
Some of the AKs groaned.
“What?” Dizzy asked.
“Just this show that says the most infuriating quote ever to exist,” Elle answered.
“What’s the quote?” Evie asked.
“She’s just a friend. And they are literally in a love square with each other!” Melody groaned just thinking about the show.
“I blame you, Lonnie for this!” Samatha said.
Mal: Um. I actually came with my friends.
Belle: Well, you should invite them.
“Can you two not act like doofuses for one day?” Mal groaned, when the scene of Carlos, Jay, and Evie shows and the boys have chocolate all over their mouths.
“At least, they aren’t pretending to anything they aren’t,” Aladdin said.
Malinda quietly winced. Benjamin heard it and comforted her.
Belle: Because the more the merrier!
Mal: Yeah. I’ll go grab them.
Beast: Uh, how about a game of croquet before lunch?
“At least, they’re making an effort with her,” Meg thought.
Mal: Huh? Of course.
Ben: Game on.
Beast: Game on.
Ben: Have you played before?
“The only people who’ve played and actually enjoyed it are Quinn and Lizzie, the daughters of the Queen of Hearts,” Malinda snorted.
Mal: No.
“I’ll save everyone the trouble, it’s boring as hell,” Malinda said.
“I like you!” Chip smiled.
Ben: No? You’ll be fine.
“Is it that shocking for Ben to be dating Mal that Queen Belle fainted?” Herkie thought.
Macaria and Hyllus subtly shrugged, hearing their younger brother’s thought.
Beast: Whoa.
Carlos: Come one, Dude.
“It’s always cute seeing Carlos and Dude moments,” Jane smiled.
Ben: Here, stand up.
Carlos: Come on, Dude.
Ben: Stand here.
Carlos: Hey, get them! Hey, get them!
Ben: Nice!
“You know, it’s nice seeing you four relax after the scenes we’ve seen,” Rapunzel smiled.
Everyone nodded, it’s always nice seeing a change of scenery.
“Not for long,” Malinda muttered, seeing Leah walking about to her younger self on the screen.
Leah: Hello, there.
Everyone held their breath as they watched Leah interact with Mal.
Mal: Hi.
Leah: Now, have we met?
Mal: No, I don’t think so. I’m new. I’m sort of like a… transfer student.
Leah: Oh, yes.
“I can’t believe I would fall for such lies,” Leah said, shaking her head at how foolish she was.
Audrey: Grammy.
Leah: Oh, Audrey!
“You’re smiling and staring very intensely at something,” Jay smirked.
“I bet it’s Ben!” Carlos teased.
Mal’s cheeks turned red but that didn’t stop her from glaring at the boys.
“Eh, it kinda was. I was smiling at how happy we all were since it doesn’t happen a lot,” Malinda said. The VKs smiled at the versions of Mal.
Give Grammy a kiss, dear.
Mal: “Grammy”?
“Did you not know her?” Aurora asked.
“I knew of her but I didn’t know what she looked like,” Mal said.
“Plus Maleficent always liked to over exaggerate things and how people looked. That’s why I was kinda surprised seeing Fairy Godmother on the first day,” Malinda said.
Audrey: Sleeping Beauty’s mother. Grammy, I don’t think you want to be talking to this girl. Unless you feel like taking another hundred year nap.
“Audrey!” Aurora gasped. “Even though you aren’t the fondest of Mal that doesn’t mean you can say something like that!”
“Especially, when they were having a decent conversation,” Phillip added.
Audrey scowled how she keeps getting in trouble from this stupid viewing.
“Well, I’m glad she was honest with me,” Leah said.
Leah: What? You! How are you here? And how have you stayed so young?
“Wasn’t Maleficent brunette though?” Aziz asked.
“Yes, but it was probably because of how similar Mal’s facial features were to Maleficent,” Aurora answered.
Ben: Queen Leah, it’s okay. Maleficent is still on the island.
“Yes, Ben! Save your woman from the crazy lady!” Chip said.
“Excuse me!” Leah fumed.
Everyone tried not to start laughing at Chip’s remark.
“Thanks, Chip,” Ben .
“Of course! Gotta save your future wife’s hearing,” Chip said, winking at Mal.
“Thanks, Chip. I appreciate the thought,” Malinda smiled.
Ben: This is your daughter, Mal. Don’t you remember my proclamation to give the new generation a chance?
Leah: A chance to what, Ben? Destroy us? Come on. You remember, don’t you? The poison apples. And the spells.
“I’m pretty sure it was only my story that had poison apples,” Snow White mumbled. Florian nodded, squeezing her hand.
Leah: Spells. My daughter… was raised by fairies because of your mother’s curse.
“You could have raised your daughter, the spell was when she turned 16,” Lachesis said.
Leah: So her first words, her first steps, I missed it all! You mustn’t trust her.
“The rest of the viewing is your future and what’s about to come,” Atropos called out.
Mal: I’m so so…
Chad: Go away! Stay away from her!
“Chad Charming! She was going to apologize for something that wasn’t her fault!” Cinderella scolded.
“Mom, this hasn’t happened yet!” Chad said.
“Still. As Atropos said, it's what's about to come, which means you will be doing this,” Henry said.
Chad crossed his arms and glared at the screen.
Ben: Don’t do this, Chad.
“Damn, he really got Ben riled up,” Akiho said.
Chad: What? They were raised by their parents, Ben.
“Honestly, we raised ourselves,” Jay said.
“Evie and Aunt Anastasia raised me,” Dizzy said.
Cinderella slightly smiled that at least her step-niece had a decent childhood.
Chad: What do you think villains teach their kids? Huh? Kindness? Fair play? No way, okay? Uh-uh.
“That’s why I wanted to bring the kids over. So they could have a chance that they should have had,” Ben said.
“Uh-huh, and how much is that true considering you apparently had been dreaming about one?!” Chad snarked.
Mal squeezed Ben’s hand for comfort.
“Rapunzel, Snow White, and your own mother, Cinderella, were raised by villains and yet they’re kind and fair played,” Mal pointed out.
“I’ve had many conversations with Cinderella and I know for a fact that she did not raise you to be like this,” Malinda said.
“Like what?” Chad glared.
“A self-observed prince, who uses girls to do his work, breaking and entering another dorm room whilst they’re sleeping to use their property just because it’s better than yours! And using said property to make copies of their key and making Ben’s crown,” Malinda listed, while glaring right back at Chad.
Everyone was beyond stunned to speak.
“Oh! And also denying a woman to be a part of the Sword & Shields Team just because it says and I quote, “a team will be comprised of a captain and eight men.” We live in the 21st century! A woman should be able to join a team if she wants,” Malinda said.
To say Benjamin was not a little turned on by his wife at that moment would be a terrible and unbelievable lie.
Cinderella and Henry were completely shocked at what their son had done. They definitely will be adding to their son’s punishment.
“Well, we definitely know who’s the bad cop and good cop to your guys kids,” Chip said, breaking the awkward silence.
Malinda snorted and rolled her eyes. “Please. Maddy and Brax are Ben’s kids, the most trouble they can get if Maddy stays up reading or Brax sneaks into my art studio unsupervised.”
“Brax does have your sass though,” Benjamin added.
“You love my sass,” Malinda teased.
“That I do,” Benjamin smiled.
“Let’s continue,” Atropo said.
Chad: You stole another girl’s boyfriend.
Ben: Hey! Hey!
Chad: Oh, you enjoy hurting people.
“When has Jay ever hurt someone outside of tourney?” Tristan asked.
Chad: And you, you’re nothing but a gold digger and a cheater.
“Oh, I see you’re talking about yourself there!” Rachel sassed.
Evie: Mirror, mirror, in my hand, who’s the biggest jerk in the land?
Chad: What?
“Deserved,” Macaria said.
Chad: Come on!
Everyone’s jaws dropped when Chad knocked Evie’s hand which made her slightly tumble.
“You touch Evie, Mal, or even Dizzy, I will kill you,” Jay warned.
“See! He’s treating me!” Chad said.
“Because he’s protective of his sisters!” Hyllus said.
Jay: Back off, Chad. All right? Back off!
Audrey: Chad!
“Thanks Ben,” Jay quietly said, smiling at the prince, as screen Ben pulled Jay away from Chad.
“I got you,” Ben smiled.
Audrey: Chad? Chad! Evie did something to Chad!
Doug: Wake up.
Audrey: Check if he’s okay.
Evie: Come on, Mal.
Ben: Guys!
Mal: Jay!
“I can’t take it anymore. Someone tell me why no adult stepped in to help! Fairy Godmother, you’re headmistress, you should prioritize your students first! King Beast and Queen Belle, you two just stood there and watched! You two know how annoying Queen Leah gets and you just let those kids get her wrath! And everyone watched, not doing anything. The only person that did something was Prince Ben, a 16 year old!” Mulan exclaimed.
The other grown ups looked down in embarrassment and realized how correct she was.
Audrey: Chad, wake up.
Doug: Come on, Chad.
“Wished I did more to help you guys,” Benjamin sighed.
Malinda cupped her husband’s face in her hands, making him stare straight into her eyes. “You did everything and more. You stood up for us and helped pry Jay off Chad which takes a lot of muscle.”
“I love you,” Benjamin said.
“I love you too,” Malinda smiled and quickly kissed his lips before turning back to the screen.
Beast: I feared something like this would happen.
Malinda tightened her hold on Benjamin’s hand, already not liking what’s coming out of her father-in-law’s mouth.
“You expected Leah verbal abusing minors?” Mulan asked with a raised eyebrow.
Malinda and Benjamin sent a quick glance at each other. They knew she was already doing that to Audrey.
Ben: This isn’t their fault!
“Mal, you chose a good prince!” Dizzy beamed, Evie had been covering her ears when everyone was fighting and had let go.
Mal smiled and looked at Ben before answering the younger girl. “I really did.”
Ben smiled at her words and kissed her cheek.
Beast: No, son.
“Who’s fault could it be other than Leah’s?” Evan asked.
“Excuse me, that Queen Leah to you!” Leah said.
“Yeah, well, you’ve clearly lost that title,” Evan shrugged unbothered.
Beast: It’s yours.
No one knew what to say or react.
Malinda narrowed her eyes at the screen, processing the words that were said.
Mal’s eyes began to glow, the magic in her wanting to be set free from the palms of her hands.
Benjamin noticed the murderous look in both Mal and Malinda’s eyes. “Someone might want to calm Mal down before her magic goes haywire.”
Ben would have been the one to calm her down but at that moment he was too into his thoughts about his dad saying it was his fault to do anything. Ben snapped out of his thoughts when he felt someone moving his arm to be wrapped around their shoulder and the body leaned against his body. He turned to see it was Mal and his body instantly relaxed.
Benjamin wrapped his wife’s arms around his waist and pulled her to be flushed against his chest, restraining her so she doesn’t hurt anyone.
“Darling, it’s okay,” Benjamin said, trying to soothe his wife.
“It is not. He made you feel hurt and doubtful about yourself,” Malinda argued.
“Mal,” Benjamin sternly said.
“But-“ Malinda started.
“Mal,” Benjamin warned. “I’m ok, no more.”
“Humph,” Malinda pouted, tightening her arms around his body and melting into his body heat.
Ben: Mom?
“So, all those people in the background witnessed the whole thing and didn’t think to help?” Meg sighed, rubbing her temples in annoyance.
“They most likely didn’t help because they thought we started it,” Malinda said.
“Lonnie, why didn’t help them, they are your friends,” Mulan sighed, as screen Lonnie and Doug walked away.
Lonnie and Doug both felt guilty for helping Ben stand up for the VKs.
Malinda frowned as screen Ben straightened his suit and put up a protective barrier on his face to act as if nothing was wrong.
“Why are they sitting by you guys?” Dizzy asked as the next scene shows the AKs and VKs sitting across tables from each other.
Ben: Hey, guys. How is everyone?
“Dude, not the time,” Emir said, shaking his head.
Ben: Yeah? Hey, listen. Forget about it. All right? It was nothing. Forget about it. Let it go.
“Who taught you that it’s okay to suppress your feelings for putting others first?” Malinda sighed.
“That’s just a Ben thing,” Chip said.
“Yes, but who taught it to him so it became a Ben thing?” Malinda asked.
Ben: Tomorrow, after the coronation. I promise everything would be okay.
“Was it?” Dizzy asked. She hated seeing the four that were all her older siblings to look so glum.
“I kinda forgot so many things happened but I think so,” Malinda said.
Ben: I have to go.
“I should have stayed with you guys,” Benjamin sighed.
“It’s okay,” Malinda softly said.
Ben: I’ll see you guys later.
“You look so sad,” Dizzy frowned.
“What were you thinking about?” Benjamin asked.
“That, in a way, Chad was correct and I had to let you go,” Malinda said.
Benjamin frowned a bit and kissed the top of her head.
“Don’t ever think Chad is correct about that, ok?” Ben whispered in Mal’s ear. She nodded and smiled at him.
Doug: Listen, Evie. I wanna talk about earlier today. I just…
Chad: Doug!
“Doug can make his own decisions without your help, young man,” Cinderella sternly said.
Evie: It’s my fault, Doug. I’m sorry.
Doug: No, it’s mine.
Chad: Doug!
Doug: What?
Evie: Doug…
Doug: Sorry, I can’t.
Samatha glared at Chad. “You are ruining my ship with your idiocy.”
Some of the kids burst into laughter.
Doug: Okay.
“You Auradon boys need to learn to grow a spine,” Jay said.
“Hey!” The boys chimed.
Audrey: How long does she think that’s gonna last?
“My relationship with Ben? Well, we’re both 28 and we started dating when we were 16 so that’s 12 years together,” Malinda said.
“It honestly feels like we’ve been together for way longer,” Benjamin said.
Audrey: Mal is just the bad girl infatuation.
“Well, he did dream about me for about 3 years, I wouldn’t call that infatuation but ok,” Mal said.
Jane: Yeah. I mean, he’s never gonna make a villain a queen.
Jane gasped, she didn’t know why she was siding with Audrey and treating Mal badly.
“And I don’t,” Benjamin said.
“She’s a villain kid!” Chad protested.
“Let’s make something very clear, just because Mal’s the daughter of a villain, doesn’t mean she’s a villain as well,” Benjamin said with a clear tone.
Mal: Beware, forswear, undo Jane’s hair.
“I definitely deserved that,” Jane muttered.
“It’s okay, Jane,” Mal reassured.
“You were following Audrey’s instructions, I think she promised you popularity,” Malinda said.
“The irony that those girls are laughing are the girls that got their hair done,” Samatha said.
Mulan shook her head as she watched her daughter check to see if her hair was back to normal.
Chad: Ew!
Chad pretended not to notice his mother and father’s disappointing looks.
“She still looks great,” Carlos mumbled, blushing.
Jane also blushed and gave him a smile in appreciation.
Mal: There’s a lot more where that came from.
Audrey: Excuse me, who do you think you are?
“The daughter of Maleficent. I mean, if I didn’t know Mal and she said that to me, I would be shitting myself,” Evan said.
“That’s improper language!” Leah said.
“Damn, I almost forgot she was here,” Malinda said.
Benjamin snorted and nodded.
“What have you been teaching our children?” Rapunzel asked her husband.
“How do you know if it’s me?” Eugene asked.
“Who else would it be?” Rapunzel asked, raising her eyebrow.
Mal: Do I look like I’m kidding?
“Yup, definitely would be shitting myself,” Evan confirmed as screen Mal flips through her spellbook.
Mal: I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.
“Thanks Leah, Audrey, and Chad so much for changing their minds back to stealing the wand,” Rachel sarcastically said with a fake sweet tone.
Mal: Let’s grab that wand and blow this popsicle stand.
Jay: I’m rotten to the core.
“Wow, you four look terrifying,” Akiho said, as the four walked together in an intimidating look with them.
“Let’s all take a quick breather since this one was very tenseful,” Atropo called out.
Chapter 20: Coronation
Chapter Text
Some people got up and went to the buffet table to get some food. And others got up and stretched their legs.
When everyone was back in their seats, Atropos said, “Let’s continue.”
The screen lit up once again.
Snow White: At last, here we are, broadcasting live from the coronation, where Prince Benjamin will soon be crowned king! I’m Snow White, bringing you up to the second coverage of who’s the fairest of them all.
“Oh my gosh, I get to cover the coronation!” Snow White excitedly exclaimed.
“Congrats, Mom!” Samtha said, hugging her mom.
Evil Queen: “I’m Snow White.” Who are you kidding? She’s definitely had work done.
Snow White’s mood dampened just a little from what her step mother said.
Audrey: Oh. Oh, me?
“Self-centered, much?” Rachel muttered to her sister and brother. Evan and Rowyn nodded in agreement.
Snow White: Oh, Fairy Godmother is looking radiant. But what is happening with Jane’s hair?
Snow White gasped. “I’m so sorry, Jane!”
“It’s okay…” Jane mumbled.
Snow White: And there is Fairy Godmother’s wand.
Maleficent: I want that wand!
Cruella de Vil: Do you? Haven’t heard.
The audience snorted at that remark.
Snow White: Oh, and here comes Ben now.
Malinda and Benjamin sent each other a smile, knowing what’s about to be revealed.
“Mal, you look so pretty!” Dizzy squealed as Ben and Mal appeared on screen.
Ben: Don't be nervous. All you have to do is sit there and look beautiful. No problem there.
Mal blushed from the compliment, “Yeah, it’s not like the whole kingdom is watching me get crowned,” she teased.
“Not at that moment you aren’t, but give it a couple years,” Benjamin smirked.
Mal: Thank you.
Ben: Mal, would you wear my ring?
“You were that nervous asking me?” Malinda asked, noticing Ben bouncing his leg before asking.
“I didn’t know if you would accept it or not,” Benjamin shrugged.
Audrey frowned, Ben had never asked her to wear his father’s ring but she always thought it was because of how active she was.
Mal: Um… not now. I think it would probably just fall right off me.
“Because you’re short, which means you have small hands?” Jay guessed.
Mal glared at Jay. “Call me short one more time, I dare you,” she warned.
Mal: I have something for you.
Ben: For me?
“Nooo, I was talking about Dr Facilier the Shadow Man,” Malinda sarcastically remarked. “Yes, you!”
“I was taken back! I didn’t expect you to get me anything!” Benjamin defended himself.
Mal: Yeah. It’s just for later, you know, when you need strength. Some carbs to keep up your energy.
Ben: Always thinking. But I can’t wait.
Mal: No!
“I don’t think Mal wanted you to eat it right there and then,” Emir chuckled.
Ben: Mm. Mm… Mm! This is really good.
“Anything Mal bakes is delicious,” Benjamin stated.
“I think you’re biased,” Malinda smirked.
“What about Maddy and Brax?” Benjamin asked.
Malinda raised her eyebrow. “All three of you are biased, considering I’m your wife and I’m their mom. Especially Brax since his favorite food is chocolate chip cookies.”
“So Mal’s the one that bakes and Ben is the one that cooks,” Mrs Potts noted, smiling.
“I’m sorry, Ben can cook?!” Akiho asked.
Chip laughed as the memory came to him. “Yeah, Ben read the cookbooks Mom had lying around and one day she catches him so she teaches him how to actually make the food.”
Ben smiled at Mrs Potts at the reminder of the memory.
“Can we please move on from this memory lane and get the rest of this viewing over?” Leah scowled.
Mal: Uh, do you…
Ben: Mal?
Mal: Do you feel okay?
Ben: You bet.
Ben smirked at how he was playing dumb with the cupcake containing the anti-love potion. Benjamin smirked at the memory of messing with Mal.
Mal: Would you say that you’re still in… that… that you have very strong feelings for me?
“So subtle,” Jay sarcastically said.
“On the Isle, I didn’t have to be subtle! Cut me some slack!” Mal glared.
Ben: I’m not sure.
“What do you mean “you’re not sure”?!” The AKs said.
Jay started glaring at the prince if he dared to fake his feelings for Mal, it would not end pretty.
“I know her spelling you isn’t ideal but you were literally in love with her since the second you laid eyes on her!” Rowyn said.
“Everyone, calm down. And continue watching,” Benjamin instructed.
Ben: I mean, let’s give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect.
Everyone paused trying to process the words.
“You knew!?” Everyone yelled, except for Ben, Mal, Benjamin, Malinda, and Jane.
“Yeah,” Ben chuckled.
“And you’re still with her?!” Audrey and Leah asked.
“Yes, I’m still with her,” Benjamin said in a hard tone.
“Wait, how did you know?” Hyllus asked.
“It’ll explain how,” Benjamin said.
Mal: Yeah… okay.
Some people snorted at Mal’s lack of reaction .
Mal: What?
Malinda glared at her husband for laughing at her reaction.
Mal: What? You knew?
Ben: That you spelled me?
“No, Ben, that I’ve been having dreams of you since I was 12,” Malinda sarcastically said.
Benjamin rolled his eyes at her sarcastic responses.
Ben: Yeah. Yeah, I knew.
Mal: I’m… I can explain myself.
“Can you though?” Tyrone asked, raising an eyebrow.
Ben: No, look. It’s fine. I mean, you had a crush on me. I was with Audrey. You didn’t trust that it could happen on its own. Am I right?
“Not even close, but you’re cute so youre off the hook,” Mal said.
“You think I’m cute?” Ben smirked.
Mal blushed at what she realized she said.
Ben: Am I right?
“No, you were very wrong,” Malinda said.
“I wasn’t going to say that I knew you were planning to steal the wand in front of millions of people on the side that could have possibly heard our conversation,” Benjamin said.
“What do you mean you knew about stealing the wand?” Malinda said, turning to her husband.
“Dad told me about the malfunction in the museum and I was a little suspicious so I looked and saw you four on the cameras,” Benjamin explained.
Everyone looked at Ben and Benjamin surprised.
“And you were still nice to us?!” The Core Four and Malinda asked.
“I was curious to what you guys would do,” Benjamin shrugged.
Everyone continued to stare at Ben and Benjamin bug eyed like in shock.
“Audrey was right, you are too trusting,” Malinda said, breaking the silence.
Mal: Yes. You’re so right.
“What would you have said instead?” Hyllus asked.
“You know what, I have no clue. I was just really glad he said that nonsense so I just agreed to it,” Malinda said.
Mal: So, then, how long have you known?
Everyone leaned forward in anticipation.
Ben: Since our first date.
Everyone was shocked and surprised except for Jane, Malinda, Mal, Ben, and Benjamin.
Ben: Your spell washed away in the Enchanted Lake.
“Ooh!” Everyone said.
Mal: So then what? You’ve just been… faking it since then?
The women fangirled as Ben placed his ring on her pointer finger and kissed her hand.
“Do you still wear the ring?” Maurice asked.
“No, Ben stole it from me,” Malinda said.
“I replaced it with a better ring,” Benjamin said, sending Malinda a wink.
Malinda rolled her eyes but still smiled.
Ben: I haven’t been faking anything.
“Aww,” The royals swooned.
“All guys need to take lessons from Ben,” Rowyn said.
“Mal, you should have kissed him!” Melody sighed as screen Mal stared at Ben not knowing what to say.
“Sorry Mel,” Malinda chuckled.
Evil Queen: Well, if it isn’t…
Maleficent: My daughter. Looking like some kind of…
Snow White: Princess!
“I’m not a princess!” Mal and Malinda said in unison.
“Uhh. Mal, you’re a queen,” Benjamin reminded.
Snow White: Now, let’s see who this beauty is wearing.
Everyone chuckled at Maleficent’s facial expressions.
Snow White: Evie.
Evie and Dizzy squealed. Dizzy tackled Evie in a hug, happy for the older girl.
“You deserve it, sweetheart,” Snow White smiled.
Evil Queen: Evie! That’s my dau… Evie!
“She's proud of me?” Evie asked in disbelief. The other VKs plus Samatha joined in with the hug.
Snow White: Someone named Evie designed her gown.
“Please, the only person that can get me into a dress and let them design it is always Evie,” Mal said.
“Did I design her wedding dress?” Evie gasped.
Malinda raised her eyebrow at the question. “You literally just heard what my younger self said, I will only allow you to design my outfits. But anyways, the second I walked off the little stage after Ben proposed to me, you told me you already have a couple thousand sketches. And I wore two of them for both weddings.”
Evil Queen: That’s my daughter!
Maleficent: Oh, wow. She sewed a dress. Meanwhile, my girl duped a prince,
“I hate that I agree with her,” Leah said with a disgusted face.
“Excuse me, she did not dupe me!” Ben offendly said.
Maleficent: and she’s this close to grabbing the magic wand.
Evil Queen: Bitter, party of one. Bitter, party of one.
Maleficent: It’s happening, people! It’s happening! I say, gird your loins!
Everyone looked disgusted at the last part.
Maleficent: Gird your loins! Villains, our revenge begins today.
“I’m just saying, whoever's idea it was to walk in a poofy dress while wearing heels up those steps should be put into jail,” Malinda suggested.
Benjamin snorted and laced their fingers together. “You were perfectly fine, I made sure to held your hand tighter than usual so you wouldn’t topple down.”
“It was also my first time wearing heels,” Malinda reminded.
“I know,” Benjamin said.
Mal: About the other day, I just…
“You had no reason to apologize Mal, it was not your fault,” Aurora said.
“I was mostly apologizing because I felt bad that moment ruined Family Day plus it’s Ben’s parents,” Malinda shrugged.
Beast: I told Ben this wasn’t going to be easy.
Ben: You also taught me that a king has to believe in himself. Even when it isn’t easy.
Beast: I did?
Everyone snorted as Belle hit his arm.
“You know that might have actually been Mom’s advice,” Benjamin chuckled.
“Yeah, that’s more believable,” Malinda smiled.
“That makes more sense,” Mrs Potts said.
Beast: I… how very wise of me.
Belle: Ben, we are very proud of you. You keep listening to your heart.
Belle and Beast smiled at Ben.
“We really are,” Beast agreed.
Ben smiled at his parents.
Ben: Thanks, Mom.
Beast: You’re gonna make a fine king.
“And I was right,” Beast smiled at Benjamin.
“He is a fine king,” Malinda smirked.
Benjamin laughed.
“Why did you keep looking down?” Evan asked as Ben’s eyes looked down twice.
“I liked seeing my ring on Mal,” Benjamin shrugged, not hiding his grin.
“You love seeing me in anything that belongs to you,” Malinda remarked.
Mal and Ben slightly blushed at how sexual that sounded.
Ben: Wish me luck.
“Good luck!” All the kids said.
“Too lost in Ben’s eyes, Mal?” Jay teased.
“They’re nice eyes,” Malinda said, unbothered.
“The three of you really don’t look like you want to do the plan,” Herkie commented, as the screen showed Jay, Evie, and Carlos’ faces.
“We really don’t,” Evie signed.
“Ben, for the love of Eros, walk faster!” Hyllus said.
That got some people to laugh.
The girls squealed as Mal bowed Ben looked over to her before facing forward.
“That reminds me, I saw an edit of me bowing from Ben’s coronation to a transition to me bowing at my crowning,” Malinda said.
“Wait, that actually sounds really cute,” Elle gushed.
Maleficent: Don’t blow it, kiddo.
Everyone from the past watched in anticipation and some led their breath, waiting for something to happen.
Fairy Godmother: Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?
Maleficent: Oh, grab the thing already?
“How did she expect me to grab it when Fairy Godmother is holding it horizontally and with millions of people there? Along with, I wasn’t taught how to focus on my magic,” Malinda said, rolling her eyes.
Ben: I do solemnly swear.
Fairy Godmother: Then it is my honor and my joy to bless our new king.
“WHAT!?” Everyone yelled as a hand stole the wand from Fairy Godmother’s hand.
“I told you we couldn’t trust her!” Leah accused.
“See, Bennyboo!” Audrey said.
“Everyone, quiet! Continue watching,” Atropos instructed.
Maleficent: Yes!
Cruella de Vil: Oh!
Evil Queen: Yes!
Maleficent: Yeah!
“She opened a hole in the barrier!” Audrey accused, pointing at Mal.
Maleficent: Oh!
Evil Queen: The barrier is broken! We’re free!
Maleficent: Scepter! Now!
Everyone’s faces paled.
Maleficent got off the barrier.
And is in Auradon.
Chapter 21: Fighting a Dragon & Set It Off
Chapter Text
“Bennyboo, how could you marry someone like her?! She opened the barrier and because of her, Maleficent is now in Auradon!” Audrey screeched.
“She probably reapplied the love potion on him,” Leah scoffed. “Why else would he still be with her?”
Mal looked down, twiddling with her hands. She didn’t want to steal the wand but she did and she had let her mother off the Isle, who might hurt Ben, if she thought about it. Mal’s heart ached at the thought of Maleficent doing anything to Ben.
Speaking of Ben, he noticed the frown forming on Mal’s face and her anxiously twiddling with her hands so he took back the one he was previously holding and he held tightly in his grasp.
“Let’s continue watching to find out what happens next,” Atropos said.
Fairy Godmother: Child, what are you doing?!
Jane: If you won’t make me beautiful, I’ll do it myself!
Everyone was speechless. It wasn’t Mal that stole Fairy Godmother's wand but Jane, her own daughter.
“Jane!” Everyone said in disbelief.
“You’re the reason why Maleficent is doing to doom us all!” Leah accused.
Tears started to form in Jane’s eyes from the harsh words that were coming out of Leah’s mouth. Carlos, who was closest to her, wrapped her in his arms and shot the old woman a glare (Carlos glaring at someone is shocking to think about). Dude climbed out of Carlos’ lap and went into Jane’s to comfort the girl.
Fairy Godmother frowned at Jane grabbed the wand because she didn’t feel like she was beautiful.
Malinda cast a spell and Leah got quiet. She kept trying to say something but nothing came out. “Dear Gods, who gave this woman the ability to never shut the fuck up?” she muttered.
Everyone let out a breath, relief they won’t be able to hear a word Leah says anymore.
“Thank you, your majesty,” The Fates thanked Malinda.
“Yeah, don’t call me,” Malinda said, looking back at the screen. Benjamin snorted, knowing much she hates people calling her anything other than her name and anything that’s associated with royalty.
Jane: Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!
“Why isn’t the wand working for her?” Dizzy asked.
“Mal, why are you just standing there?! You could get hit!” Emir yelled, freaking out.
Mal slightly smiled at how Ben ran towards her to shield her away.
“The wand isn’t working with Jane because she wasn’t taught how to properly handle magic at that time, since Auradon thought magic should be put to the side,” Malinda answered Dizzy’s question. “I was too shocked that Jane yanked the wand out of Fairy Godmother’s hand to comprehend moving.”
Beast: Take cover!
Belle: Careful, Mal!
“Mal! Why would you go towards the crazy sparking wand that is certainly untamed and could possibly get hurt?!” Macaria asked her cousin like she’s crazy.
“To make sure Jane doesn’t end up hurting herself since too much magic without proper training will hurt you,” Malinda said.
Mal smiled at Belle for her comment.
Ben: Mal, give me the wand.
“You know this just made think how you guys will just welcome one of your own back with arms wide open if they did something like that, but if it was actually me that stole the wand, there would be riots and I would be booted back to the Isle without a second glance,” Malinda said.
“Didn’t your dad say something like that when he came to alive Audrey?” Benjamin whispered to Malinda.
She nodded.
Mal: Stand back.
Ben: It’s okay.
Mal: Ben, I said stand back!
Audrey: I told you so!
“That is the worst timing to ever tell someone I told you so,” Hyllus said.
“Great idea to say that the person holding a magic wand,” Rachel sarcastically.
Carlos: Let’s go!
Jay: Revenge time.
Ben: You really want to do this?
“That makes so much more sense now that you actually knew,” Malinda said, curling into Benjamin's chest. He had wrapped a protective arm around her when the craziness started.
Mal: We have no choice, Ben! Our parents…
Ben: Your parents made their choice. Now you make yours.
“That is true. We should have checked the registry to see if the villains did have any children and helped them,” Belle sighed.
“Instead of leaving it up to Ben to make things right,” Rapunzel sadly smiled. She should’ve helped more since she was raised by a villain, even if she was a royal.
“If that did happen, I would have met you way earlier and you would have been considered a princess,” Benjamin smirked. Malind glared at him at the mention of being considered a princess.
“But who would have raised us?” Carlos asked.
“I’m sure plenty of families would have accepted you,” Jasmine smiled.
“That does sound nice and all, but not all villains are horrible parents. Plus you would be taking a child away from their parents even if they are horrible,” Malinda reasoned.
“I do have to say I agree with both sides of this conversation but we can’t change the past,” Eugene said.
Mal: I think I want to be good.
Ben: You are good.
Mal: How do you know that?
Ben: Because… Because I’m listening to my heart.
Mal: I want to listen to my heart, too.
“You know what I realized during this whole viewing, Ben always can calm Mal down,” Rowyn said.
Malinda and Benjamin laughed. “Yeah, that’s definitely true,” Malinda said.
Mal: And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents. I mean, stealing things doesn’t make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy.
Emir: Yeah!
People chuckled.
Mal: And you, scratching Dude’s belly makes you happy. Who would’ve thought? And Evie… you do not have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart.
“You are!” Dizzy agreed, hugging Evie.
Mal: And I don’t want to take over the world with evil.
“But you do get to rule with good by your husband’s side and help bring more VKs over,” Malinda smiled.
Mal: It doesn’t make me happy. I want to go to school.
Benjamin snorted. “Do you really?” he teased, raising an eyebrow.
“Well, someone did offer me to sign up for art class and I couldn’t refuse an offer like that,” Malinda smirked.
Mal: And be with Ben. Because Ben makes me really happy.
“I’m pretty sure it’s 90% to be with Ben and 10% for school,” Jay teased, happy for his little sister.
“Shush,” Mal smiled.
“You make me really happy too,” Ben smiled, kissing her cheek.
“You four all found happiness in what your parents were against,” Cinderella chuckled at the irony.
Mal: Us being friends makes me really happy. Not destroying things. I choose good, you guys.
“Those three gave a heart attack,” Malinda said, shaking her head when they took what felt like forever to put their hand in the middle with hers.
Jay: I choose good, too.
Evie: I choose good.
Carlos: So, just to be clear, we don’t have to be worried about how really mad our parents will be?
A few others chuckled with the people on screen.
Carlos: Because they’re gonna be really, really mad.
Ben: Your parents can’t reach you here.
“Ben, you jinx it,” Audrey sighed, shaking her head, never noticing the lack of the nickname.
But the others sure did, Malinda and Benjamin shared a small smile. Ben also smiled, happy to see a little bit of his friend back.
“I guess I did,” Ben shrugged.
Carlos: Okay, then. Good.
Mal: Come on.
Malinda smiled as she watched Ben play his right hand where his ring was previously as he walked over to the VKs.
The girls “aww” when Mal rests her head and on Ben’s shoulder.
“Whoever interrupted that beautiful moment is going to pay!” Tristan said when a loud noise appeared in the background.
“I'm sorry, did Ben just fall?” Lonnie said, trying not to laugh.
“I didn’t expect it!” Benjamin defended.
Everyone’s happy mood dimmed when green smoke appeared.
Maleficent: I’m back!
Audrey wrapped her arms around her mom’s waist and curled up. The old stories her Grammy about Maleficent all came to her mind, the words haunting her. Aurora didn’t know her daughter was so scared of Maleficent but she wrapped her arms around Audrey’s shoulders.
Mal: It can’t be. Go away, mother.
Maleficent: She’s funny.
“Mal, your mom is so weird,” Tyrone said when Maleficent snorted.
“Try living with her,” Mal said, rolling her eyes.
Maleficent: Oh! I’m so… you’re very funny. Here.Wand me. Chop, chop.
Ben: No!
“Did you really think I’ll hand over to her when I literally just gave a speech about picking good?” Malinda asked her husband.
Benjamin shrugged. “I panicked when it looked like you were going to give it to her.”
Fairy Godmother: Bibbidi-bobbidi…
Maleficent: Boo.
“Oh shit, this isn’t going to be good,” Melody said.
Maleficent: Psych. Ooh. Ooh, in another time, in another time.
Everyone gagged and looked absolutely disgusted at any thought of that.
“I think I just threw up in my mouth,” Mal said, disgusted.
“Ditto,” Everyone grunted.
Maleficent: Evil like me, don’t you wanna be mean…
“Uhh, how does she know that song?” Emir asked.
“I have no idea…” Mal said.
Maleficent: Yow! Oh. Oh, no. Someone needs to plunk their nose hairs.
Fairy Godmother offendly gasped.
Maleficent: Where shall we begin? I know. Why don't we start by getting rid of this?
Mal gasped along her screen self as the ring Ben gave her flew towards Maleficent and wrapped itself around the wand.
Maleficent: Perfect fit!
Ben didn’t like seeing Mal look so destroyed losing his ring. So, he took it off and slipped it onto her hand. Mal turned and smiled at him.
Maleficent: Oh, excuse me. Pardon me. Excuse me. The horns, the hornes!
A few minutes chuckled even under the unfortunate circumstances.
Maleficent: Aw… Falling in love is weak…
Malinda growled as Maleficent moved Ben’s head back and forth, then titling his crown.
Maleficent: And ridiculous.
“Only I can make ridiculous jokes,” Malinda glared.
“Easy, Darling, easy,” Benjamin said in a comforting voice.
Maleficent: It’s not what you want.
Mal: You don’t know what I want! Mom, have you ever once asked me what I want?
“If you’re wondering, she never did,” Malinda said.
Mal: I’m not you!
“And we’re all glad of that,” Belle smiled.
Maleficent: Oh, obviously. I’ve had years and years and years and… Years of practice being evil. You’ll get there.
Mal: No, I will not. And I really wish that you had never gotten there yourself.
A few people nodded, wishing Maleficent never went down the path she did and felt bad for her when Lachesis told them what happened in her past.
Mal: Love is not weak or ridiculous. It’s actually really amazing.
“Ben’s love though is ridiculous,” Aziz teased.
“Oh ha ha,” Ben said, rolling his eyes. “You all participated as well!”
The tourney players in the room laughed.
“Boys, stop teasing Ben,” Malinda started. “Only I can get to tease him with ridiculous jokes,” she smirked.
“Of course, your royal purpleness,” Jay and Carlos joked.
Mal rolled her eyes at their antics.
Benjamin and Malinda chuckled, both remembered when Carlos called her that after Ben’s proposal.
Maleficent: I know one thing, young lady. You have no room for love in your life!
“Wow. Thanks,” Mal sarcastically said.
Mal: And now I command, wand in my hand! Ha! It worked!
Everyone was beyond shocked to see how powerful Mal’s magic was.
“Never underestimate the power of love,” Mrs Potts said.
Others nodded, love is a very powerful thing.
“Was it really that or was it your godling powers?” Benjamin whispered.
“I’m not entirely too sure, probably both,” Malinda said.
Maleficent: I hardly think so. Frankly, this is tedious and very immature. Give me the wand. Give me the wand!
“I’m sorry but did anyone else see Chad hugging Doug?” Lonnie hysterically laughed.
Chad glared at Lonnie while a few others chuckled since they did see it.
“She said you're being immature but yet she’s the one that’s literally throwing a tantrum,” Tristan said, shaking his head.
Carlos: Hold on, Mal. Maybe good really is more powerful than evil.
Maleficent: Oh, please! You’re killing me. Arf!
“…can I stab her with my sword again?” Phillip asked.
“Phillip! Mal is the room!” Aurora said, shocked by her husband's words.
“Eh, as long as I get to watch. It is my favorite part of my mother’s tale,” Mal said.
People looked at her in shock and some were concerned.
“I’m sorry, but your favorite part of your mother’s tale was… when she got stabbed?” Naveen was the one to ask.
Mal nodded.
“Okay, then…” Naveen trailed off, not knowing what else to say.
Maleficent: Oh! Oh, the breath!
“Go Dude!” Cheers were said when Dude jumped on Maleficent.
Maleficent: The breath! Get off me!
“Jay! You know you can't take her specter away from her unless you’re related to her or your intentions are pure evil. And I’m sure we aren’t related and you just admitted that you choose to be good,” Mal said as screen Jay tried to grab Maleficent’s specter.
Maleficent: Gaston should be jealous.
Everyone gagged as Maleficent felt Jay’s muscles.
The VKs frowned as Maleficent flicked his head and Jay fell backwards.
Maleficent: Enough! You all will regret this!
Every single person’s stomach dropped at the sight of Maleficent turning into a dragon.
“Jay!” All the teens yelled as dragon Maleficent flew closer to Jay and blew fire at him. The grown ups grew worried for Jay.
“Jay, run!” Everyone screamed at the screen.
Carlos: Come on. Run, Jay, run!
“Wrong way, Jay!” The Agrabah family yelled.
Mal: Hurry, Jay. Hurry, hurry, hurry! Jay!
The VKs pulled Jay into a group hug. Jay just accepted since he knows his younger siblings are worried about him.
Evie: Watch it, Jay!
Mal: Jay, come on! Please, Jay! Jay!
Jay: Aah!
Evie: Magic mirror, show your bright light!
Mal: Behind me, E! Leave me friends alone! This is between you and me, mother.
“Mal, I swear to all the gods…” Jay said, the VKs switched their group hug to Mal.
“Malinda Bertha, you better not do something that ends up hurting you,” Evie warned.
“See, this is why I didn’t want anyone else knowing my full name,” Malinda sighed.
Benjamin snorted. “I don’t think it’s the time to be complaining about someone using your full name, mon amour.”
Mal: The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one.
Everyone held their breath, watching Mal and Maleficent’s eyes glow.
Mal: The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one. The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one!
“How were you not scared?! A dragon, your own mother, is literally staring down at you like that?!” Evan asked Malinda.
“Oh, no, I was literally terrified since I never won against her,” Malinda said.
“Wait, what just happened?” Elle asked as dragon Maleficent blinked and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
Mal gasped. “Did I win?”
“Just watch to see,” Malinda said.
Fairy Godmother: Oh!
Carlos: What just happened?
Mal: I have no idea.
Evie: Did you do it?
Mal: I don’t know.
Fairy Godmother: No, no, no, no. Your mother did. She shrank to the size of the love in her heart. That's why it’s so itty-bitty.
“She just had to rub it in that her love for her daughter is so small,” Mulan whispered to Shang.
Mal: Is she gonna be like that forever?
Fairy Godmother: Well, forever is a long time. You learned to love. So can she.
Malinda and Benjamin snorted.
“She’s still a lizard till this day,” Malinda said.
Mal: I believe this belongs to you.
Fairy Godmother: And I believe this… belongs to you.
“And it always will belong to you,” Benjamin said, squeezing her hand.
“Uh-huh, and yet you stole it from me,” Malinda teased.
“So I can replace it with a different kind of ring,” Benjamin said.
Fairy Godmother: You all have earned yourselves an “A” in goodness class.
“You four definitely deserve it,” Beast said.
Fairy Godmother: Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!
Everyone laughed as Ben roared and a few adults laughed at Beast’s glasses being titled.
Ben and Benjamin blushed in embarrassment.
Mal: Okay, okay! Oh!
Malinda chuckled at her husband’s past actions.
Mal: We kinda got this all wrapped up here.
Beast: Oh…
Belle: Yeah, let’s go.
Mal: Oh!
Everyone smiled at how cute it was when Ben picked Mal up and twirling her around.
“Get used to that, he loves picking us up,” Malinda smiled. “Even at the randomest times.”
Benjamin smiled and kissed her.
Ben: Next time, I rescue you, okay?
Malinda glared at her husband for the dumb decision he’ll make in about 6 months time for them.
Mal: Yeah. Let’s not let there be a next time, okay?
“Ugh, you guys are so cute!” Rowyn gushed as Mal hugged Ben then titled his crown to the side.
“She still does that,” Benjamin smiled.
Mal: I will be right back.
Fairy Godmother: I love you. But you are on a major time-out.
Mal: Don’t be too hard on Jane. I was the one who put all that crazy stuff in her head. You are beautiful… inside and out. Your mom got that right.
“Thanks Mal,” Jane smiled.
“I haven’t said this yet, but you are beautiful and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise,” Mal smiled at her.
Jane: I guess I did get really lucky in the mother department.
Mal: Yeah, I guess so.
“If you ever need a mother figure, I’m always here for you, sweetheart,” Belle smiled at Mal.
“Thank you, Belle,” Mal smiled gratefully.
Couple of people smiled at the interaction between Mal and Audrey.
Mal: Hey!
Maleficent: Help!
“She can talk!?” Everyone yelled.
“I guess so,” Malinda said.
Mal: Careful! That’s my mom!
Jay: Well, let’s get this party started!
Everyone smiled at the deja vu moment from the beginning.
All: Ohay ohay, hey!
“How come none of the other villains escaped?” Naveen asked.
“Well, it was only a small hole in the barrier and only villains with magic could escape, I guess. But I guess they feared Maleficent,” Carlos said, shrugging at the end.
Mal: Oh, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, yeah
Ben chuckled as he saw the guys carrying him on their shoulders.
Evie: Let’s set it off, oh, yeah
You can make it happen
All: Ohay ohay, hey!
Ben: King and queens it’s our time to rise
Write the book, story of our lives
This is us takin’ back the night
“We’ve wanted you guys to live life the way you guys want to, not from our footsteps,” Aurora said.
All: Ohay ohay
Mal: Break the spell, we were born this way
Be yourself, forget the DNA
Everybody raise your hands and say
All: Ohay ohay, hey!
Evie: Sound the alarm, get on your feet
Let’s set it off and rock this beat
Dance till your heart is wild and free
All: Oh, oh, oh
Evie: Feelin’ the power, let it all out
“Ahh, Evie and Doug, you guys are so cute,” Dizzy and Samantha squealed.
Evie and Doug blushed.
Macaria smiled as she noticed Ben and Mal in their own little world off the side.
Evie: Like what you see in the mirror? Shout
We got the keys, the kingdom’s ours
All: Oh, oh, oh
Ohay ohay
Let’s set it off, oh, yeah
Oh, yeah
Start a chain reaction and never let it stop
Let’s set it off, oh, yeah
Oh, yeah
You can make it happen with everything you got
Beast smiled as he watched his son have fun with his girlfriend and friends.
“Hey, he picked you up again!” Melody smiled.
All: Let’s set it off
Ready, set it off
Come on
We ‘bout to set it off
On the right
Get ready, set it off
On the left
Get ready to set it off
Carlos & Jay: Yo
It’s time to set this thing off
Let’s make it happen now
I’m make my own future, ignore all the rumors
Show ‘em how passion sound
They all told me I should back down
“Thanks guys,” Jane smiled but blushed when she looked at Carlos.
Carlos and Jay smiled back at her.
Carlos & Jay: Judgin’ me ‘cause of my background
Thinkin’ ‘bout changin’ my path now
Carlos: Nah, I ain’t goin’ out like that now
Audrey: Feelin’ the power, let it all out
Like what you see in the mirror?
Shout
Ben: We got the keys, the kingdom’s ours
All: Oh
Mal: Whoa, yeah
Ohay ohay
Everyone gagged at the sight of Audrey and Jay.
“It’s so weird seeing Jay with Audrey and Lonnie with Chad,” Malinda said, shaking her head.
“So we know Jay ends up with Lonnie but does that mean Audrey and I end up together?” Chad hopefully asked.
“Uh, you guys did date but you married different people,” Benjamin said.
Chad’s face brightened when Benjamin said they dated but dimmed when they married different people, he always wanted Audrey… maybe they can work it out in this timeline.
All: Let’s set it off, oh, yeah
Let’s set this off
Start a chain reaction and never let it stop
Let’s set it off
Let’s set this off
Oh, yeah
Let’s set this off
You can make it happen with everything
Let’s set it off
Get ready, set it off
Come on
We got to set it off
That’s right
Get ready, set it off
To the left
We got to set it off
Get ready, set it off
We got to set it off
Get ready, set it off
Come on
Three, two, one, uh
All the girls leaned forward in their seats as Ben was about to kiss Mal but groaned when Mal turned her head.
“Nooo! Mal, that would have been so romantic!” Audrey groaned.
Everyone stared at Audrey in surprise.
“Y-you want to see Mal and Ben kiss?” Hyllus asked.
“Did we enter a parallel universe or something?” Ahiko asked Emir.
“We were brought here by the Fates to watch our life. Nothing is impossible,” Emir said.
Audrey shrugged. “Ben was my childhood friend and if Mal makes him happy then that’s all that really matters to me.”
Ben and Benjamin smiled at her words.
Aurora and Phillip looked proud at their daughter.
“Mal, with all due respect, just kiss Ben,” Jane bluntly said.
“Kiss him. Kiss him. Kiss him,” Rachel started to chant. Soon everyone joined in.
“Guys. Guys, I don’t want to pressure Mal into doing something that she doesn’t-” Ben said but got caught off by Mal’s lips. Ben happily kissed her back.
Everyone cheered since they had to witness two almost kisses.
Mal pulled back and looked back at the screen. “Ok, let’s continue.” Pretending to act normal but the blush on her cheeks selling her out.
While, Ben’s brain is basically short circuited from the fact Mal just kissed him. Ben’s cheeks were red from his blush.
Mal: Whoa, yeah
Ben: Let’s set it off, oh, yeah
All: Let’s set this off
Mal & Ben: Start a chain reaction and never let it stop
All: Let’s set it off
Let’s set this off, oh, yeah
Let’s set this off
You can make it happen with everything you got
Lonnie squealed at how cute Ben and Mal were dancing together at the top of the balcony.
All: Let’s set it off
Get ready, set it off
Come on
We’ve got to set it off
To the left
Get ready, set it off
To the right
We got to set it off
What?
“Bro! They were about to kiss!” Tristan groaned.
“You guys have too many almost kisses,” Herkie complained.
“It’s fun to lead him on.” Malinda chuckled.
“Uh-huh, and you just had to do it at our wedding?” Benjamin asked, deadpanned
“I wanted to get a rise out of you,” Malinda smiled.
All: Ohay ohay, hey!
Let’s set it off
Oh, yeah
“Kiss!” Chip shouted as screen Ben and Mal rested their foreheads against each other.
All: Start a chain reaction
Mal: Oh. I was having so much fun. I almost forgot. You didn’t think this was the end of the story, did you?
“That doesn’t sound suspicious at all,” Doug sarcastically said.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
“Oh, wait! It’s Mal as narrator like the beginning,” Aziz said.
“That kinda makes sense, I guess,” Tyrone said.
All: You can make it happen
Mal & Ben: Whoo!
All: With everything you got
Let’s set it off
Get ready, set it off
Come on
We got to set it off
On the right
Get ready, set it off
To the light
Ohay ohay, hey!
Set it off
“We still didn’t see them kiss,” Dizzy pouted.
“Did you guys even have your first kiss there?” Macaria asked.
“Oh no, we did,” Malinda smiled.
“And it wasn’t shown?!” Evie cried.
“Well, that’s the end of the viewing,” Clotho called out.
“Now what happens?” Meg asked.
“You guys can talk for a little then you’ll return to your previous timelines and change anything you’ll like,” Lachesis said.
“So they just created a different universe?” Benjamin asked.
“Yes, whatever they change won’t affect your timeline,” Atropos answered.
Everyone got up stretched and group up to talk.
Chapter 22: Epilogue

Chapter Text
Hercules and Meg had pulled Mal and Malinda to the side.
“So, uh, what did you guys want to talk to us about?” Mal nervously asked.
Mal had no idea what these two gods wanted to talk to her about, while Malinda had an idea.
Hercules and Meg quickly looked at each other before Hercules sighed.
“We know,” he said.
“Know what?” Mal asked, really hoping they didn’t find out about who her dad is.
“We know Hades is your father,” Meg said, getting straight to the point.
Mal’s stomach dropped at Meg’s words. She literally jinxed herself.
“Oh. How long have you known?” Mal asked.
“Since Malinda told us to call her that and because the name is Greek. We figured it out since we know Maleficent would never name her child something Greek and the only person who is actually Greek is Hades,” Hercules explained.
Mal slightly glared at Malinda for giving it away.
“Yes, he is my father but he hasn’t been in my life since he left me and my mother. And I rather not talk about this anymore, now if you’ll excuse me,” Mal said dismissively, before walking away. Hercules, Meg, and Malinda watched her walk away and head to Ben.
“I wasn’t the biggest fan of Hades, as you saw. Maleficent always told me he was a weak immortal who walked out on us when I was just a baby. I didn't find out about Hades being my father till I was around 6 when I found out about my half brother, Hadie. I felt so betrayed that he stayed to care for him and left me. But after getting engaged, I started to get to know him more and he told me his side of the story. I got to spend time with him, Persephone, and Hadie and it felt really great to be a part of a real family. At some point, Persephone asked me if she could adopt me, even though I was considered to be an adult but I still accepted. So, we did some blood adoption and we changed my name from Maleficent to Malinda,” Malinda explained.
Hercules and Meg smiled.
“I’m happy you got a second chance of a loving family,” Hercules said and hugged her.
“Thank you,” Malinda smiled at her cousin.
Hercules began to walk away and Meg said, “Hope you give Hades hell sometimes.”
“Oh, 100%,” Malinda smirked and two women laughed. They walked back to the rest and went to their respective husband.
“Great! Now that everyone is here, Malinda and Benjamin can finally tell us about their shared dreams,” Chip excitedly said.
Mal, Ben, Malinda, and Benjamin blushed at the reminder of that.
“Alright, alright. We’ll explain the dreams,” Benjamin said. “When we both turned twelve, the dreams appeared. I would dream about being on Isle, and a purple haired girl with the brightest green eyes saving me. But before I got thank her or even ask her what her name was, she had already ran off and I would have woken up,”
“As for my dream, I was coincidentally at the Enchanted Lake, that’s why I kinda looked surprised when Ben took me there. And Ben was there and I knew something was definitely off since he said he was my friend, which at the time I didn’t consider anyone my friend. Then I would wake up because of my mother yelling at her minions,” Mainda said.
Aurora and Phillip both smiled at each other, remembering their own dreams about each other.
“You two really are true loves,” Dizzy squealed.
“We are,” Benjamin smiled and looked lovingly at Malinda.
“Is there anything else you guys would like to ask Benjamin and Malinda before transporting back to your current time?” Atropos asked.
“This isn’t for Malinda nor Benjamin, but what happens when we go back to our time?” Snow White asked.
“You guys will keep your memories from here and you can make any changes if you will like,” Clotho said.
“We wanted to show you guys a different perspective, especially with the VKs,” Lachesis said.
“Are you ready to head back?” Clotho asked.
Everyone nodded and the Fates transported everyone back to Family Day while Malinda and Benjamin were sent back to their kids.
