Work Text:
Amber’s nails played a small tune on my he wooden table before her, teeth nibbling on her bottom lip in indecisiveness.
Blinking, brown eyes watched the door before her, legs kicking in impatience. Jean had decided to put her on desk duty due to her “recklessness” a month ago, which forced her to stay sat in front of the door, writing down every visitor’s name and she couldn’t be more bored.
And, to make matters worse, her friend, Hu Tao, had just left to go back to Liyue, leaving her alone with her desk. Sleepily, she leaned her face on one hand, blinking at the door again to will someone interesting to walk in. Sighing, she pulled herself to her feet with heavy limbs, full body shaking off any grogginess.
Walking towards freedom, she trailed a hand along the walls as she did so, opening the door with a small clank before leaning her forehead on it and closing her eyes. Her day had been full of pure nothingness and yet, she still found herself absolutely exhausted. Maybe she should check on her medications.
Taking a step out, she resigned herself to spending a restless night alone in her bed like yesterday, arms falling to her sides.
“Amber!”
Said knight’s head snapped around, arm banging against the door and surely bruising it. Eyes cast around the room as she scoured for the yeller.
“Are you leaving already?”
“Oh.”
Amber couldn’t help giving out a sound of disappointment at Lisa’s brown eyes, unprepared for her heart pounding in her ears at the brunette’s obvious lack of interest in her.
Smiling delicately, she jogged forwards to Amber before draping her arms around her shoulders with a happy giggle.
“Promise you’ll come back soon?”
Blood pumping in Amber’s veins, she shivered at the other’s closeness.
“Yes! Of course! Very soon!” She squeaked before ducking out, almost hitting the floor in her need to get away.
Lisa giggled again, turning back around while thinking of Amber’s beautiful, pink lips.
