Notes:

Why hello there

Anyways, this is my first fanfic and I had to redo the a/n for the first chapter because I somehow managed to add it for every chapter. (I've fixed it after snooping through the edit section)

POVs in order: Death and Magic, Life, Gleeson Hedge, Chiron

Disclaimer I only own my OCs and the plot for this story anything else belongs to the original creators

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Death had been swamped with work coming in from all the recent natural disasters when their sister, Magic, decided to barge into their office. Not wasting a single second (also not wanting to deal with whatever got her excited this time) Magic was lassoed by shadows and dragged out of the room. Letting out a sigh after the intruder was kicked out and a wall of shadows slammed up as to block out anyone, Death went right back to filling out paperwork.

Then came the knocking.

At first it was quiet and easy to ignore. Then it got louder, and louder, and louder until it couldn't be counted as knocking and was out right banging on the door at this point. If Death had been mortal they would probably have had an aneurysm by now.

"If I open that door will you leave me alone? Or at least let me have peace?"

"Only if you listen to what I have to say dear."

An ever suffering sigh escaped Death as they lowered the shadow wall and opened the door. Magic gleefully walked through and draped herself over the couch in the office.

"What do you want from me?" Death was in no mood to play games with any of their siblings today. Destiny and Fate alone kept them and their brother, Time, occupied with all of their antics and arguments and Life was too busy creating species on other planets and galaxies. "There are mountains of paperwork I have to go through right now. My reapers are still bringing more thanks to those two fighting."

"I found a potential Master of Death." Magic's smug answer was all it took for her to get any sort of acknowledgement from the stressed deity. "However, the problem is Destiny and Fate are currently arguing over how to treat the girl and Time had placed a curse on her ancestors a few centuries ago. You know after that whole time turner business." She did feel a small bit of guilt when a very annoyed groan escaped from her favorite, Time and Life tied for second, sibling because of the file she handed over.

"May you live in interesting times? Has to be a Potter, since the other Peverell descendants are more or less dead."

"What about the Gaunt line?"

"More or less dead." They really didn't want to think about the work they would have because of that idiot. Even if the blame lay on the meddlesome old coot. Unfortunately, Magic wasn't known for leaving things alone if she could. "Horcruxes."

"How did that happen? I thought that the mortals got rid of that specific ritual?" The amount of cursing both of them did while trying to deal with the Pharaohs had Time chasing them around in a bid to wash their mouths with mortal soap.

"Destiny keeps forgetting to keep an eye on a problematic mortal and he keeps plotting to take over that certain world. Fate also has a backlog of projects so she can't help keep an eye on the mortal plane, not that she really cares to stop Destiny's entertainment at the moment. Also it doesn't help that the two are at ends with each other right now so they aren't getting much done." Death's explanation made the most unfortunate amount of sense.

Magic adjusted her veil and circlet. "From what I know the mentally addled man plans on messing with the future of your baby Master of Death. He wants to turn her into a pawn for the 'Greater good'"

"What can I even do? Most mortals do not like me visiting them after all." They were quite literally Death.

Magic's noncommittal hum hit Death's ears. "Well, I can send her to that camp for the Greek pantheon. I may or may have a champion there soon as well." That was certainly news to Death. "I didn't tell Fate or Destiny. It's safer that way since she is a child of the sea."

"Wasn't there that agreement after nineteen-forty-five?"

Magic's stance was rather mocking in nature. "Do you truly believe and trust that they are capable of honoring it?" She did have a point. "Besides I can convince Hecate or Triton to claim her if the need rises, that would protect her for a couple of years. Life actually gave me that idea."

"May as well follow through with that idea. How would we manage to execute it?"

"Satyrs or nymphs. Preferably a satyr." There was one that could be... persuaded into picking the little Potter up. She would have to get a few nymphs to convince her champion's mother to take her to the camp, or at least meet a representative from the camp.

Death abandoned their desk and banished the unfinished paperwork. Plucking their cloak from the chair, they latched onto Magic's wrist and walked out to find the third eldest siblings, Life.

________________________________________________

Life happened to enjoy her time coming up with new species. In two galaxies over of course, far away from her siblings' antics. She was currently in the past so that way the evolution process would be natural and didn't make Time annoyed. Walking on a planet that seemed tame compared to Terra was quite like enjoying a garden. Maybe a plant based sentient species would work. She was Happily drawing away when Magic and Death found her. "Oh hello! How can I help you two?"

"Magic told me about interfering with my future master, or champion, by using a satyr or nymph. Is it a plausible course of action?" The hope in Death's voice would be well hidden to the other deities, however she was their other half.

"I see no reason why it wouldn't. Although satyrs are the better option for long travel seeing as they have more combat experience than most nymphs. Also while you technically cannot. interfere with your own champion you can with each other's chosen. Is this the reason you two are hiding from Destiny and Fate?"

Magic confirmed her speculations. Seems as if those two were causing trouble again. She chatted with them for a bit, ideas bouncing off of one another for the new species before the younger deities set off to protect their champions from their two sisters.

Life just continued on with her work. Whatever her younger siblings did was their problem, she didn't want to be involved with the fall out.

_________________________________________

Gleeson couldn't tell why he felt the need to be in England, especially a neighborhood like this, but he could feel the pull to be there. If he didn't find anything soon he was gonna riot. Even though spirits could cross over into the living world, tonight felt colder than normal to the point where it seemed a little excessive.

Making his way down another street a shiver ran down his back.

Magic. Rather potent too.

His mother always did say he was far too curious for his own good. Didn't stop him from half of his decisions before and it wouldn't stop him now. Getting closer to the house Gleeson looked down at the little bundle on the top of the stairs in front of the door. Picking it up proved that it wasn't an it but rather a human babe. A human babe with only a baby blanket and a note attached stating her name, Loren Potter. He could feel his blood pressure physically rising. His next decision would probably get him trouble with the council but they could deal with it.

"Okay cupcake, let's get you to your new home." Unknown to the rather crazed satyr, two pleased deities watched while another confusedly weaved a new tapestry. It took a while for him to find a boat and give an offering to every sea god he could remember. Thankfully the voyage was calm and peaceful, much to the confusion of the ship's crew who had gotten word of a massive storm heading their way seemingly disappearing.

The morning Hedge and the last Potter made it to Camp Halfblood she was taken from the carrier on his back and whisked away to Chiron while he got dragged in front of the council. (Many members quietly wished they didn't have to do this. Not that they felt Gleeson didn't deserve any form of punishment. It had to do with the fact that the satyr just didn't care.)

So he stood there as they berated him for going to Europe and bringing back a mortal who wasn't a demigod. "I didn't ask for permission since something told me to be there. I got a headache anytime I tried to go the opposite way. What do you think I should have done?"

"That does not excuse you bringing a child who isn't even a demigod into the camp!"

"She was accepted wasn't she?"

The meeting would never end.

Chiron couldn't help but enjoy the feeling of the little one in his arms. There were only a handful of times that children as young as the babe Gleeson had brought in lived at camp, and he was rather curious about her. Even if she wasn't a demigod, the girl did have magic as strong as Hecate's children. Maybe the magical communities weren't as extinct as they were led to believe. If this happened to be true maybe Chiron would be able to find a way to gain access so he can find the true identity of the girl. Since it was Fall a majority of the campers were gone and that only left a small amount of the year round campers. Jax, one of Hecate's known children, should be able to help. The only matter was finding him.

It took some bribing to locate him, however thanks to Sylvie and Alex (a pair of Hermes' children who wanted permission to prank cabin ten. Their funeral) Jax should be in the general location of the pegasus stables. Loren babbled all the way on their mini adventure. "This Miss Potter is the pegasus stables home to over twenty individuals and some powerful horses as well. Oh Jax there you are! If it's not too much trouble I have a few questions."

Jax was quick to put down the tools in his hands and make his way towards Chiron and the adorable little girl that appeared yesterday. "It's no trouble, just updating some runes. What's up?"

"There seems to be a discrepancy when it comes to Miss Potter's identity. Her magic is similar enough to yours but still differs. I need help getting in contact with the believed to be extinct magical world."

Chiron watched as one of Jax's hands raised to the back of his head, a habit that gave him away whenever he was thinking. "I have no idea why you think the magicals are extinct, they're just really hidden. Hmm. I think I have an aunt that can help take you both to the New York branch of Gringotts." Something seemed to startle the teen when he looked up and took in all of the little girl's features. "Uh, sir. Are you sure that she isn't related to one of us? The Hecate kids I mean?"

"Not that I know of, her magic is quite different from demigods. May I ask why?"

"It's just because her eyes are such a vivid green like ours. Magicals can have eyes of any color from what I've seen. I've met people with purple or golden eyes, but green is a tell-tale sign of our lineage, related to, or blessed by our mother at the very least. Maybe her mom is a sister of ours, would we be able to meet her?"

Chiron could feel his heart sink at the question. He knew why Jax wanted to meet her mother. It was rather rare for adult demigods to return to camp due to the possibility of attracting stronger monsters to the kids. "Unfortunately, this little miss seems to have lost her parents. There's a letter that Gleeson Hedge brought with him that claimed her name to be Loren Potter. However, it doesn't seem to be her true or full name. That's why I would like to see if there is an identity test that could tell us Loren's full name."

"That's awful. Losing your parents so young before you can make any memories. I'll get in contact with my aunt. She'll probably want to meet with you so she can see what will be needed." Jax said his goodbyes while racing to Hermes cabin so he could write to his aunt.

Looking down at the little girl Chiron decided that she needed some new clothes. She could stay in the Big House with Mr. D and him until they could figure something else out. Making stops at cabins nine, ten and four he decided it was time for her nap.

He would be forever grateful that Mr. D had been occupied until after Loren had finished her nap. Now all he has to deal with is a disgruntled god.

"Do we really have to watch over a baby?"

"I do believe you have said it yourself, Mr. D. That children will only raise more wild children." Chiron was enjoying Mr. D's very visible apprehension. To be fair his children were all immortal and mortal children are notorious for being much more fragile .

"Hmpf. Don't use my words against me." The former god of wine and insanity proceeded to have a stare down with Loren. "I'm guessing she will be staying in the Big House with us?"

"Yes. I already have cabin nine working on some furniture- I'll have to make sure that they don't add any random features. Cabins ten and four are supposed to be working together to make her some clothes for the up coming months."

"There'll be a murder scene then. Wonderful. It's been a little too chummy for my liking." Chiron knew that Mr. D just wanted some form of chaos since he ran out of dramas to watch. "Who do you think will win?" He must be getting really bored if he wanted to start betting with him again.

"Well if you want to go down this route, five drachma on cabin ten." The two continued to watch Loren as she played with some panpipes the satyr council gave them on behalf of Gleeson Hedge. She was happily making music that only she knew when some of the older kids came running inside.

"Chiron! Mr. D, sorry! But the Aphrodite and Demeter kids are fighting and we can't get them to stop!" Chiron scooped up the tot and followed the kids to where the others were, Mr. D following right behind them.

He could hear his nephew mutter behind him. "I really need to stop betting with him."

It took them ten minutes to break up the fight and an additional five for punishments to be doled out, or in Chiron's case stop certain ones since the majority of the children had annoyed Mr. D. Again.

Once they, the mortal god, centaur, and toddler, all got back to the Big House Chiron went about making a list of all the errands he would need to do that week. "I'm going on a bit of a shopping trip tomorrow, would you like me to get you anything?"

"A new drama. I've grown tired of these." A moment of silence before the mortalized god spoke again. "Also look for any new plant seeds, possibly grain or vegetable, cabin four needs to practice with other plants than strawberries."

A hummed response and scratching of a pen on paper was the only response from Chiron as he finished the list and started to sort through the mail. Bills, bills, car warranty, subscriptions, more bills that weren't even related to the camp, a fancy letter, newspa- the letter gained Chiron's full attention. this was certainly new, he had lived for a long time and accumulated wealth through investments and the strawberry farm to run both the camp and to get the kids through school. But a letter such as this, pitch black envelope with a pale blue wax seal and his name written in shocking white ink, he'd never seen anything like this. Digging through the desk drawers to find his old letter opener, Chiron warily tore the letter and started to read.

Dear Chiron Kronusson,

With little speculation, two of the three kings of the grecian pantheon has broken one of their oaths sworn on the Rive Styx. One can is... premeditated while the other was through genuine love. The mortal daughter of the sea king is currently located in Manhattan, New York. It is in your best interest to arrange a meeting with Ms. Solei Jackson to discuss the situation. Might be best to take the youngest potter to appeal to her. It would also be beneficial for her to meet with Mr. Callahan's aunt. Sending a nymph or druid to give her the basic information and set up the meeting would hold the most beneficial results.

Sincerely,

Mortem.

"Dionysus. Do you know anyone by the name Mortem?"

"First don't call me that it sounds as if I'm in trouble. Second no. Although it does sound vaguely death related." Mr. D walked over to the paper covered desk. "Why?"

Chiron handed the younger immortal the letter, "They sent this letter. Apparently two of my siblings have broken an oath they couldn't even honor for half a century. Any nymphs or druids that wouldn't mind me sending them to the city?"

"Yeah let me get them here." Chiron hoped it wouldn't end in a disaster.
