Chapter Text
With the exterminators vanquished, Adam defeated, and a new and improved Hazbin Hotel built and ready to get started on rehabilitating new sinners.
With the Hazbin Hotel now known far and wide across the pentagram, many existences send curious glances at the place.
Lucifer has been publicly supporting the hotel and his daughter's dream, even outwardly sponsoring the hotel with things it needs to fulfill its purpose.
With both the support of the Radio Demon and the King of Hell itself, things are ready to get busy.
Now if only someone new would check in.

It has been a month since they had fended off the extermination. The Hotel residents are working together to stabilize things in regards to the hotel. Charlie had begun more actively advertising her hotel, a burning determination inside her. Especially now that her father along with the rest of her friends have come to support and back her dream all the way.
A knock on the door grabs her attention as she brainstorms for ideas for exercises and activities they could do to reach redemption. Opening the door she is face to face with a male demon? She wasn't sure, but as he was in hell then that's the only thing they can be.
The male demon was more human looking than what was common in hell. Most sinners are anthropomorphic or even just your average horned weird skin colored type of humanoid demons.
The demon in front of her had pale skin, raven colored hair and sky blue eyes. He seemed to have two long sharp canines similar to her own and his neck had a small splotch of scales on it.
You introduce yourself as Crys, claiming to have heard about the hotel and wanted to give redemption a shot. Vaggie popped in for a brief moment, scrutinizing you who just huffs amused and smiles at the protectiveness.
Vaggie eventually introduces herself and throws half threats at you before running off to check out a crash from the kitchen.
Charlie checked you in rather excitedly telling you all about the hotel, it's goals, what exactly they did in the hotel, and more.
You were introduced to each resident, each one unique and different in their own right but they all seemed like one big family nonetheless.
"Nice to meet you all!" You cheerily greet them, before you energetically shake each of their hands as you introduce yourselves to each other.

2 months pass and you get along quite well with the crew.
Vaggie seemed quite the anti-social type unless it was towards Charlie but she came through and was a true friend when it mattered.
You found yourself sitting in front of a tough crowd of sorts everytime you sit at the bar and try to initiate conversation but after persistently trying to get to get along with the winged cat, you eventually play a couple rounds of solitaire and other card games that becomes a regular occurance every week.
Nifty was unhinged. She seemed like a hyperactive child. One that went around stabbing bugs, and being a major clean freak, but you found yourself amused at her antics. One time she made you a crown out of spiders and you simply decided to take it with grace.
Guess you were King Spider now then.
Speaking of spiders, Angel was… awkward to be around to say the least. Although according to people he has toned down his NSFW language and words, and actually respected boundaries now more than before. It was still a lot for you. Still, you wanted to get along well with the hotel, so you tried to get to know him more. After a visit from Cherri that has the 3 of you– you have no idea how you got roped into it –ending up somewhere in the pentagram, you learned how skilled Angel was with a gun.
He riddled a wolf-like demon with bullets after witnessing the demon harass a demon that resembles a sheep. The poeticness of that occurrence made you chuckle under your breath.
The three of you got into more chaotic things after that which resulted in all 3 of you arriving back at the hotel with tousled hair and messed up clothing.
"We didn't do anything too crazy Charlie!" Was what you exclaimed with two hands raised in surrender as Vaggie stood next to her with her eye narrowed at the three of you.
You got placed on cleaning duty after that, worth it though.
Alastor was a bit of a toughy. Until now you still couldn't put a finger to what's going on with him, you've heard about him of course, the Radio Demon. He was infamous after all, still he didn't seem like some crazed psychotic killer that just goes around on a bloody massacre.
Still you can't help but remain vigilant around him. He was still an overlord after all, one who had a lot of confidence in his power and himself, you for one weren't gonna provoke that.
Charlie, of course, was an absolute sweetheart. She did her best to make you feel welcome. Very quickly, you found yourself being very close friends with her, and when you told her that you KNEW she was gonna succeed on her dream? Well, lots of crying and tissues later, Charlie and even Vaggie thanked you for believing in her dream.

There was one final important person in the hazbin family that you haven't met. Apparently he tended to visit a lot more than before, but you still hadn't met him.
Lucifer, aka the King of Hell. Charlie's dad. You've seen him of course on the news, defending his daughter and beating Adam into a pulp.
You clapped at that when you heard about it, that pompous annoyance deserved it honestly.
Adjusting the extermination early made you hate the guy all the more when it was first announced.
Still, that brings you to your current predicament.
"He hates me doesn't he?"
First thing Charlie did upon his entry to the hotel was introduce you to him. He smiled good naturedly at first but after that? Well it was obvious he had some…doubts about you.
Ushering his daughter to another room you can hear vague snippets of their conversation, Lucifer asking his daughter how sure he was about you being trustworthy, or whether or not you are actually serious about this redemption business.
You get it of course, he wants to make sure that his daughter really has the best shot at redeeming sinners. Screening sinners on whether or not they are truly willing is something that can help with that.
Still, you were sure regardless of whether someone is genuine in redeeming themselves, just like Angel and Pentious– you've heard of his heroic sacrifice –you were sure Charlie could touch their hearts enough to make them truly try to better themselves.
That doesn't mean that Lucifer's distrust of you doesn't hurt you though.
Especially when 3 months pass and he still just 'tolerates' your existence. He didn't dislike you as much as he did Alastor, you noticed that particular relation as time passed, still, he didn't really warm up to you at all despite the numerous regular visits he does.
"He's just not used to people yet. Dad didn't really go out much till recently, you know that." Charlie placated you one time when she noticed a frown on your face at Lucifer once again giving you the narrowed stink eye, his lips set into a straight line.
You dismissed Charlie's worries for you, giving her a smile as you told her that sometimes people just didn't click.
You hoped Charlie didn't Notice how strained your smile was.

Another month passes by, the hotel welcomed a new addition to it's little family, a lamb sinner who missed her mother, saying that she wants to redeem herself and reunite with her.
Charlie was once again ecstatic.
You did your best to make sure they felt welcomed.
When Lucifer did meet the new addition, he'd been outwardly more receptive. He didn't treat the new resident with as much fondness as he usually had with the rest of the original hazbin residents, but he was still far friendlier with her than he was with you after many months.
You didn't care, you told yourself.
Instead, you focused on the redemption activities Charlie made the hotel residents partake in. During evenings, you'd stay in your room, tinkering and making random inventions or gizmos. It was a hobby of yours.
You ignored the twinge in your chest at being excluded on game night whenever Lucifer visits, something that wasn't his fault. You just thought he would feel more comfortable playing and spending time with his daughter and the rest of the hotel if it was only Alastor he had to deal with.

Charlie groaned in frustration, Vaggie looking over to her girlfriend with a concerned expression on her face
"What's wrong hun?"
"Ughh, it's my dad Vaggie! I thought it was just cause he didn't know Crys yet, and that's why he was being mean and such but he interacted with Cindy okay!"
Vaggie rubs comforting circles on Charlie's back.
"Maybe Crys was right hun, maybe some people didn't click."
"But Vaggieee, Crys has been nothing but nice, and understanding. He even doesn't attend game night when dad comes for a visit! I just don't get why dad can't get along with him."
Vaggie gives the best comforting smile she can muster, laying a hand on Charlie's cheek she gives Charlie a soft smile.
"Then maybe they just need a little push? If there's anyone I know who can make people get along great, it's you hun. Besides, I'm sure the rest of the gang can lend a hand if need be."
Vaggie grins, "Crys is their friend too and I'm sure they've noticed the strain between your dad and him."
"You're right!" Charlie suddenly smiles determinedly, a fist in front of her as she hugs Vaggie and pecks her cheek.
"Ohh They're gonna be the BEST of friends when I'm done!" She says cheerily pulling Vaggie into a hug.
Vaggie simply looks fondly at Charlie's innocent joy.
