I recall that day as if it were yesterday. How in one fleeting moment Mobius became our worst nightmare. We thought it was just a normal battle with Eggman ,pounding badniks into oblivion,humiliating Eggy,and having a good laugh afterwards …no, no this was different. Eggman appeared frighted. Maybe one of his awful creations he produced came back to Bite him? Whatever the case maybe this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park.
Sonic confidently strutted in front of Eggman with a slight smirk beaming across his face.
“What have you gotten yourself up to Eggy? Not like you to cower so quickly the moment we arrive.” Sonic commented shifting his weight to one side as he crossed his arms. So very Sonic of him.
“There’s no time for heckling hedgehog!” Growling Eggman. “Something is wrong with my machines, and I know all of you are going to say, ‘weren’t you the ones making the machines?’ Yes! I make the machines, but this is different you have to believe me.” Rambling on as each word becomes ever so paranoid.
What have we gotten ourselves into?
I stood back with Knuckles and Tails observing the area around us. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at the time so I …naively brushed it off to a ploy just to get us off guard. Something was wrong
Tails scampered towards the big computer hacking into Eggman's data base with ease. I joined Tails shortly after keeping an eye out for missed details Tails hasn’t picked up on . Everything seemed like normal Eggman files; from robots, schedules, memos, plans for his empire that is never going to happen, and his purchases for Flickeys. I always hated that part they deserved to fly free.
Wait
Out of the corner of my eye some…thing? Was agitating the security cameras in a back room. A dark mass so indescribable it would strike fear into your very soul. As soon as I caught a glimpse the computer monitor began to overheat, steam quickly filled the area. I snagged Tails getting a bit of distance before the monitor exploded. Cough cough cough
“Is everyone okay?” Croaking what words I could muster.
Knuckles scanned the room for any signs of what caused the explosion. “Odd there’s high amounts of chaos energy yet no signs of any emeralds nearby.”
“Not very like the emeralds to even explode technology Knux in the first place.” Sonic chimed in.
“Their power is still very unknown to most Mobians Sonic” Knuckles grumbled.
“Yah yah Mr ‘Guardian’ how the untapped potential of an emerald can be dangerous to” Snide Sonic.
“We can’t rule out any Users either Mr ‘Snarky’ we know a handful that could be trying to get back at Eggman.” I replied while helping Tails back to his feet. “Amy has a point, Eggman can you think of anyone that could have sabotaged your tech? ” Knuckles questioned. “Could be anyone! All I know is that most of my machines, well with the exception of; Orbot, Cubot, and Metal Sonic. Other than that, everything’s been on the Fritz, you’ve seen it.” Rambled Eggman
He maybe a compulsive liar but Eggman wasn’t the type to lie about his creations. Even if they are a part of his world domination plans. Something was a foot and we needed to find it fast. At least fast for Sonic before his patience wears thin. “Hello little rose.”
A voice spoke deep and grading. So foul it sent chills down my quills. Who was it? Where was it?
“Amy look out!” Sonic yelled out pushing me out of the way.
As I looked up, I saw that thing was behind me. It reached itself past the roof. There was no definitive shape just a feeling I got. Fear. We fought with all our might there was nothing like this mass. In the nick of time Metal had joined the fight but it wasn’t enough. The mass grabbed Sonic mid Spin-dash keeping him in a strangle. Knuckles went to free Sonic, but it wouldn’t budge. “Metal!” Sonic called.
" Get Tails and Amy to safety don’t stop running until you know this won’t catch them.”
“No Sonic you can’t please!”-Tails cried.
Sonic gave us his usual heroic smile his eyes held back tears.
" I love you both.” Tails and I struggled in Metals grip to no results. “Sonic!” My last cries to him the moment Metal fled with us. Just like that our worst nightmares became reality. Our mission: get Mobius back, save Sonic and knuckles, and bring that thing down.
