As the night time began in the cellblock on Tantiss, Omega once again snuck out of her cell this time however she managed to obtain the key to Crosshair's cell. She still didn't have the plan but maybe visiting him would show Crosshair that she's capable of escape and that might convince him to take up with others on a plan to leave this facility, one way or another.
Omega arrived in the corridor where Crosshair was kept, it wasn't hard for her to go there unnoticed as she was smaller which made her easier to hide herself but also the lack of security on this floor, especially around Crosshair's cell. She quickly located her brother's cell and used the “borrowed” key to open the door to it.
Inside the cell Crosshair was sleeping, or at least attempting it by keeping his eyes closed. As he heard the cell opening he felt a shiver run through his spine. He could almost hear the other commando troopers assisting the scientist who was about to bring him to the lab.
He sat up on the bed and opened his eyes to his surprise he hadn't seen any lights from the commando troopers or from the commlink of the scientist. What he heard were the soft footsteps of his sister who tried to not alert anyone of her presence.
Crosshair signed deeply. “You shouldn't be here.” He pointed out with a more raspy tone than usual as if he just woke up or was sick.
“I know.” Omega responded as she sat on the edge of the bed that Crosshair was sitting on. She clearly wanted something but didn't know how to ask her brother.
Noticing how Omega was looking at the space on the bunk he moved closer to the wall, making more space for her. His sister's eyes subtly lit up seeing that Crosshair was willing to do that. She moved closer to him and gave him a hug.
At first Crosshair didn't know what to do; he sat there as his muscles tensed up from an unexpected affection from his sister. As if instinctively Crosshair’s shaking hand was around Omega's shoulder lightly returning the gesture. He knew that she also needed comfort too because no matter how tough she was at not showing what she was going through, just like him.
The tears began forming in Crosshair's eyes just as he was comforted for the first time since he started working for the Empire. He didn't even realize throughout those past months how much he needed just that.
They stayed like that for a few minutes before Omega pulled away and Crosshair quickly wiped his tears away with the back of his hand. “Thank you, Crosshair.” She said with a small smile creeping up on her face.
She knew she didn't have much time to make her visit unnoticed but there was one question she had to know the answer to before leaving. “When do you think we might try to escape?”
“As soon as possible. We just need to wait for an opportunity to get you out of here.” He said as he watched his sister nodding at the answer. She closed the cell behind herself but before she actually left she waved goodbye to Crosshair at which he scoffed quietly with a small smile he was trying to hide.
