Tech sighed as Hunter looked at General Keto with an obvious starry-eyed filter. He probably understood the theoretical appeal of a slim figure, a bold and seductive repartee and deft combat skills, but it was a bit much, was not it?
"Should I come and make sure nothing untoward happens?" He asked with great pain.
He did not like it when his brothers became irrational. At least Crosshair did not change and was too stern and inflexible to have a crush, he could count on him to keep his head on his shoulders.
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh, I want to see that too, are you going to train together?" Wrecker asked, arriving on the wrong side to get a good look at Hunter's revealing face.
"Why would I-"
"She's a flirt with everyone, she'd never pick a clone, move onto someone else."
"It's rough, man, don't listen to Crosshair."
Crosshair obviously knew this but did not care. He had not given Wrecker any thoughts, but like Tech he probably thought that the fact that even Hunter was getting into it was getting worrying.
"Thanks Wrecker, but there's nothing going on between General Keto and me. At all."
"Funny, given that you're talking directly about her and not General Allie, who is also a woman."
There was no male General on this operation, so it was highly indicative that there was an interest. And Tech did not like that.
Hunter blushed and pretended again that there was nothing, but Crosshair and Wrecker exchanged mocking smiles and Tech knew it was over: he was not seeing things, Hunter was really... ugh, Tech did not even want to put a word to that.
It was so irrational. It was not even that he had problems with the Jedi, so far General Kolar had been perfectly pleasant for a Natborn and was very delicate with Wrecker who did not need it, the insults slid off him as quickly as the bruises disappeared and General Keto had been a calm, silent and immobile cargo when they had picked her up on the other side of the planet where they were operating as reinforcements, having single-handedly managed to collapse a hidden extraction of rare ore. ... but that did not mean he was going to let all his brothers be charmed like that, since he was the only one he could be sure would not give in to the natural seduction of the Jedi, he had to protect his brothers.
"In application of your own rules, I formally forbid you to be alone with her."
"Especially in dark, narrow cupboard," Crosshair added.
Wrecker burst out laughing, which made the slender Jedi turn to look at them, and Hunter seemed relieved not to be able to blush over his tattoo when she looked at him curiously before smiling at him with a wink, then diligently going back to cutting things up with his two lightsabers so the regs could clear the road more easily.
"Nothing's going to happen," Hunter promised as he walked away after putting a hand on his shoulder as if that meant anything to him.
If he was trying to reassure him, there must be something to worry about, so it was even more disturbing for Tech, who looked at him thoughtfully.
"Something is definitely going to happen," Wrecker exclaimed before saying much more quietly: "I can't wait to see him try and deny it."
Crosshair turned to their team-mate and Tech could see himself in his unimpressed gaze.
"Just like you deny that you met your Zabrak in the forest before you came back-"
"What's he talking about?" Tech asked because he had definitely not heard of it.
"It's Crosshair, he's always exaggerating, you know him, well, see you later, we'll check Hunter!"
Tech watched them run off and decided that this was not as much of an emergency as sorting out their ship's navigational tools was and simply added the "Hunter question" and the " Wrecker’s time in the woods" to the many things he had to deal with.
It was going to be a problem if everyone started having distracting romantic interests. Luckily he would never fall into that.
