Adam and Eli’s house has seen so much of their story. It’s Eli’s house; Adam just moved in. The two couldn’t take being apart for so long, so Adam moved in within months . Normally, it would spell disaster. But for these two, they turned their shared house into a home within days.
They spend much of their time in the living room, whether cuddling on the couch or Adam roping Eli into watching him play a game. Every time something big happens, Adam looks at the older man and “Did you see that?” without missing a beat. The couch isn’t the one Eli originally bought for his house when it was just a “bachelor pad” (Adam called it that a lot ). It was old and serviceable, but he wanted his boyfriend to be comfortable. Adam watched Eli attempt to put it together while he read the directions. Something about watching his man do hard labor…
Adam loved laying on Eli when they had time. His strong arms kept the younger man safe. Other times, Eli was intently watching Adam play a video game. He had his gaming room where he streams, but the console stayed downstairs. Eli has played a few video games in his lifetime, but he attempts to understand what Adam plays. There are times when Eli and Adam have their usual Sunday cuddle session on the couch and the younger man attempts to explain his favorite games. So far, Eli might be into Resident Evil.
Eli can cook about two things pretty well: steak and eggs. Adam thinks his boyfriend’s breakfast is egregious. He eats dry oats and all of those eggs? Ultimately, all that matters is that Eli has Adam’s pancakes ready for him when he wakes up. Their kitchen is a warzone when it’s time for dinner; they try a lot of new things. Adam has tried to wean his man off of steak as a protein claiming chicken has more protein than steak. “I don’t know how you don’t get taste fatigue.” “That doesn’t exist.” They successfully made pasta together after Eli scorched the water (he didn’t know that he could do that) and Adam couldn’t open up the jar of sauce. It was a successful night in their book.
Their bedroom is their haven. Adam was surprised at how big the bed was seeing as though he lived alone. Sleeping together for the first time was nerve-wracking for Adam, so Eli kept his distance from him in bed. Night by night, they started to get closer and closer. Eli doesn’t mind that the younger man hogs the covers. He doesn’t get cold anyways. When Adam faces him in bed, he can’t help but watch him sleep. His long brown hair, his lips parted as he’s softly breathing. If Adam is exhausted, he will talk in his sleep. Eli once reached over and touched his face and Adam flinched badly. He won’t do it again. They’ve shared a lot of moments in bed, too. Both men were experienced but took time to capture how much this moment meant to them. Eli also learned a lot about Adam’s body; where to touch, and what not to touch. He knows how much Adam hates having his hair pulled and how much he loves to get praised. After, Eli always makes sure to wipe his lover down and tuck him in.
Adam’s gaming room is sacred in a way. Eli respects his boyfriend’s space while he streams. He knows he wants to play his game and talk to his fans. But sometimes, while Eli is lying around, Adam calls him up because “the chat wants to see you”. He listens and decides to show his face. Adam always talks about how happy his fans are to see him and they answer a few questions about their relationship. “I keep seeing a question about a dog…?” “No you don’t.” Before Eli leaves to do whatever, Adam always wants a kiss. He loves kissing on stream and he knows Eli doesn’t mind showing his man some love. They share their kiss and Eli says something about dinner after the stream. “What a man, am I right chat?”
